Military’s Mission Doesn’t Include Enforcement, so Smugglers Cross Rio Grande Right in Front of Them (VIDEO)

Does the United States military exist only to defend the borders of foreign countries in the Middle East or is it allowed to defend the borders of the U.S. against terrorist cartels, espionage, infiltrations, and smuggling?

It might sound like an uncanny question given that our military was likely created exclusively to defend our own borders, but, according to one Homeland Security official I spoke to, the White House is still convinced that our own military cannot be used for what one would think of as the quintessential purpose of its existence.

“Despite the fact that a more aggressive and armed military posture at the border is purely repelling incursions from the cartels and has nothing to do with Posse Comitatus limitations on enforcing interior domestic law, the administration lawyers refuse to view it that way,” said a DHS attorney who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

Indeed, despite the president’s promise to send “ARMED” soldiers to the border following the incident where two active duty soldiers were briefly disarmed and detained by Mexican military (or cartel operatives) on April 13, nothing has changed for the roughly 2,800 active duty personnel at the border.

“Active duty soldiers along the border currently operate CBP-provided Mobile Surveillance Camera (MSC) vehicles at known migrant crossings along the southwest border,” said NORTHCOM spokesman Capt. Jason Elmore in a statement to CR. “Active duty service members do not serve in a law enforcement capacity, they only alert Border Patrol personnel to any suspicious activity discovered while operating the mobile surveillance cameras.”

That is clearly the guidance the political leaders in Washington are issuing because they continue to treat cartel smuggling of dangerous criminal aliens and gangs – and even espionage and human intel gathering operations against our border – as a domestic law enforcement issue rather than a national defense issue.

Cartels invade while the military plays humanitarian role

One Border Patrol agent in the hard-hit Rio Grande Valley, who himself has an extensive military background, told CR that while his colleagues appreciate the Defense Department’s help, they really need the military to actually hold the line against the cartels. “We are outmanned, outgunned, and outmaneuvered, and the cartels have better technology than we do,” said the agent who spoke on condition of anonymity because he lacks an outlet to convey the perspective of line agents.

“The cartels are also much smarter than people give them credit for. They know that the military has been given orders only to alert Border Patrol of incursions rather than deterring and pushing them back across the river. As such, they will literally cross in rafts right in front of the military vehicles, often armed with weapons, knowing they won’t touch them and knowing that our agents are so tied down with their strategic weaponization of family units that it will take too long for us to arrive at the scene.”

Not only has the military not been unleashed to secure the perimeter of the river just like we would do for the security of other countries, they are often placed in danger themselves. In addition to the incident in Clint, Texas where two Mexicans snuck up on two active duty soldiers and jumped them, a Marine was attacked in El Centro California in May while sitting in one of these blacked out Mobile Surveillance Camera vehicles. The military has declined to comment any further on that incident since the initial media reports and have never issued an official statement.

The rest of the military’s mission appears to be humanitarian in nature, which unfortunately, plays into the hands of the cartels by more effectively completing their criminal conspiracy rather than deterring them. The NORTHCOM spokesman told CR that “the Joint Forces Land Component Command maintains a Crisis Response Force, consisting of military police, medical, aviation, and engineering support.” They also “provide high capacity transportation drivers to assist CBP with migrant transport to detention facilities and personnel to distribute meals to and conduct welfare checks on migrants in immigration detention facilities.”

Ironically, one could easily argue that having the military engage in migrant care is much more of a law enforcement and domestic policy function than the quintessential military function of defending the actual border line in the river by remaining “forward engaged against the armed smugglers and cartels,” according to my source in the Border Patrol who spent many years in the military on forward engaged missions overseas.

“It is shocking how when the Gulf Cartel and Cartel del Noreste engage in battle, the losing side always comes across the border to escape and our government doesn’t deploy any assets to stop them. Weapons and cartel commandos flow back and forth constantly, yet DHS and DOD refuse to view this as a gray zone conflict the way we would in the military in any other part of the world. Ironically, yet tragically, when cartel gun battles erupt is precisely the time when we need the military to be forward engaged to intercept the cross-border flow of fighters and weapons because we as line agents are ordered to get out of the way. Our border is left defenseless.”

The funny thing is that the lawyers in the executive branch believe the military can’t perform the Border Patrol’s job, yet Border Patrol doesn’t perform a hold the line strategy anyway because that is viewed as too dangerous for them!

So who is executing a military mission? Not Border Patrol and not the military

In another twist of irony, the only personnel who consistently have held the line when there was enough funding are the Texas Rangers. Jaeson Jones, former captain of the Texas Rangers’ Border Security Operations Center, is dumfounded that the federal government won’t patrol the international border the way his state troopers did beginning under Gov. Rick Perry.

“The military pilots need to get in their hours anyway,” Jones said. “They could kill two birds with one stone, by getting their training and hours on the border, while also being used as a fixed deterrent against the cartels. Before the wave of lawfare, our efforts at Texas DPS were very successful in deterring the incursions and the military has exponentially more resources than we had.”

Jones, who recently took a trip to the border, posted a series of videos on his Twitter account of smugglers successfully delivering their package and returning before Border Patrol could get them. According to Jones, some of these incursions were called in by the military, but because the military doesn’t deter and defend, the cartels slip in right in front of them.

Notice the smuggler is waving his load on. They will not operate if Border Patrol is in the river because they don’t want to get caught along with the illegal immigrant families. They don’t fear the military, but according to our source who is a line agent in the region, that would all change if the military were allowed to deter them.

“There’s nothing more effective than boats and helicopters. If the military would augment our resources in the river and the air, the cartels would be forced to shut down their operation and go back to just drug smuggling at ports of entry. But as it stands now, they know that the responding agents are far enough away to respond. There have been so many times recently when we can’t even respond when the Army calls out a group of runners. There are so few of us on the line that we have to prioritize which groups we pursue. Then there is the safety concern because we are dealing with cartels who are no less powerful and violent than ISIS.”

Sounds like a mission for the military, right?

Yet, NORTHCOM confirmed with me that they do not operate in the Rio Grande River. My source in Border Patrol noted that when Border Patrol is able to deploy their boats, they are very effective, but it’s not constant enough, and “due to poor scheduling of personnel shifts, there are often four consecutive days without boats in the water in our area of operation. A permanent military presence would be a game changer.”

If not for our own homeland defense, then for what?

This dynamic could not be further from the authentic application of the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act. The law was signed by President Grant to prohibit the military from being used to enforce domestic Reconstruction-era laws against American citizens in the southern states, absent direct authorization from Congress. To repel an invasion at our border — any invasion — is actually the quintessential use of our military that our Founders had in mind. Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution tasks the federal government with guaranteeing states’ protection against invasion, and we owe it to Arizona and Texas to secure their territory. The existence of Article IV, Section 4 itself should qualify as the exception to the prohibition of military enforcement expressed in Posse Comitatus — “except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution.

The president would go a long way in changing the outlook of the border from a domestic issue to a national defense issue if he were to designate the cartels as terrorists. Yet, multiple officials in the administration and in Congress have told me the State Department and most people in the White House are dead-set against it.

Next week, we will celebrate the 243rd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. One of the indictments against King George expressed in that document was how he “endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers” and refused to allow the Colonists to defend against the Indian incursions. Who would have thought that years later, the experiment in self-governance would result in our own refusal to do so without the absolute rule of a king? Must-Watch Video of Media Claiming Border Security Is a ‘Manufactured Crisis’

. . .One could argue that while both sides now agree that there is a major issue, the left seems to think that the main problem is that the U.S. is not swinging the door wide open for all illegal aliens while conservatives argue that the problem is we do not have a wall to prevent illegal immigrants from coming into the country whatsoever. Regardless, the mainstream media’s coverage of the situation during President Donald J. Trump’s entire term in office has been absolutely dismal in terms of accuracy as to what was truly happening at the border. This video posted by Grabien’s Tom Elliot is proof that leftists in the media have gone from claiming that no problem exists at the border to saying that Trump is responsible for the crisis at the border that supposedly did not exist just five months ago.

Depending on how cynical you are, the video represents either the genuine stupidity or the malicious intent of the mainstream media. It also represents how dumb they think the American people actually are. For years, the mainstream media has said there is no immigration problem. They did this because they were either too dumb and too lazy to do their job or they purposefully hid the reality to paint the president as an idiot. By now admitting there is a crisis, in an insult to their viewers, they think their audience will continue to find what they say as credible. They do this despite the fact their record shows they cannot report on perhaps the number one issue facing America — illegal immigration.

Warren: Eliminate Private Insurance, No Restrictions on Abortion

By Daily Wire. Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren said on Wednesday night that if she becomes president that she will eliminate private insurance, force everyone on government healthcare, and will not support any restrictions on abortion.

“Many people watching at home have health insurance coverage through their employer,” NBC’s Lester Holt said. “Who here would abolish their private insurance in favor of a government-run plan?”

Warren and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio both raised their hands.

In May, The Washington Post reported that “over and over again, roughly 7 out of every 10 Americans report that they’re fairly satisfied with the quality of their personal coverage.”

Watch: Transgender Speaking Against Teaching Kids Gender Identity Triggers Alleged Antifa Member to Go Crazy

During a speech at the University of British Columbia by Jenn Smith, who is transgender but opposes teaching children about sexual orientation and gender identity, an alleged member of Antifa went crazy, rushing out, striking an innocent bystander and ending up being detained by police while screaming hysterically.

Smith was speaking on “how transgender politics in school and society is undermining our freedom and harming women and children” as protesters were outside. A fire alarm sounded, and as it rang out the Antifa member bolted out of her seat and up the stairs. Smith said of the alleged Antifa member, “I think the original intent was to go after me but she got spooked by RCMP near me and instead charged out of the building and flailed at the man at the back. This is a pattern of harassment. When I did my Vancouver Island tour I had a group of apparently professional protesters following me from town to town causing disruptions.” . . .

Smith’s events at Douglas College in New Westminster and Trinity Western University in Langley were both canceled after the schools found out about the nature of the events. The Douglas College event was scheduled for June 8. After it was canceled, Smith wrote, “What we are seeing today is a complete collapse of freedom of speech, while the institutions traditionally tasked with protecting free speech completely abrogate their responsibilities. The media and our institutions of higher learning are now complicit in what is essentially a quasi-fascistic attempt to silence all dissenting views on a subject that involves not only women’s rights, the well-being of our most vulnerable children, but freedom itself, hence the title of my talk.” (Read more from “Watch: Transgender Speaking Against Teaching Kids Gender Identity Triggers Alleged Antifa Member to Go Crazy” HERE)

WATCH: Tlaib Says Her Constituents Want to See ‘Direct Payment’ as Reparations

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) said her constituents want to see reparations for descendants of slaves in the form of “direct payment.”

Tlaib hopes the House has a “serious conversation” about voting on H.R. 40, the Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act, after the reparations hearing that took place last week in the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties.

“This is something that is very rooted in trying to combat what’s happened and continues to happen with black Americans not being actually able to get a level playing — on the same level after slavery,” Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 13th congressional district, said on Capitol Hill.

“I support any opportunity for restorative justice and that can come up all above in some instances, but I think there’s a serious conversation happening in committee and I hope it continues to happen regarding reparations. But I guess it should be determined by all of us and I can tell you at home it is direct payment that people want to see but also increased access to higher education, to real equitable funding in education systems, right now, across the country,” she added. WATCH: CNN Host Forced to ADMIT Child Immigrant Detention Happened Under Obama

CNN anchor John King admitted what many liberal critics of President Donald Trump refuse to acknowledge about controversial migrant child detention in a segment Tuesday.

“I just want to remind people, that under president Trump, Democrats don’t like anything he says about immigration, he’s had problems with his own party on immigration,” King explained.

“But this particular issue is not new. I just want to go back, this is an interview, going back to 2014, with the then-Democratic president of the United States,” he added.

“There are some Democrats who come to the table and say Trump created this crisis, this is all about Trump,” King continued. “Alright, maybe it escalated under Trump, the numbers are certainly higher under Trump, but this has been a problem the United States government has had to figure out a solution to, for a very long time.” . . .

“Oh, our message absolutely is don’t send your children unaccompanied on trains,” he said, “or through a bunch of smugglers, that is our direct message to families in Central America, do not send your children to the borders. If they do make it, they’ll get sent back…”

Truck Driver Accused of Killing 7 Bikers Was Immigrant Who Should Have Been Deported

When an American is killed by a foreign national, it is not more tragic or painful for the family members and society than it is when a person is killed by a citizen. However, from a public policy standpoint, it is more outrageous because the death is usually avoidable, and in the case of an illegal alien or legal immigrant with prior convictions, it is 100% avoidable. We can’t pick our natural-born citizens, but we can pick our immigrants and we can and must remove those who are harmful at the first sign of trouble.

Volodymyr Zhukovskyy, 23, was arrested on Monday by Massachusetts police at his home in West Springfield for the negligent homicide of seven motorcyclists in Randolph, New Hampshire, last Friday night. Seven bikers were killed, and three others injured when his pickup truck and attached trailer plowed into the motorcycles traveling in the opposite direction on Route 2.

According to local media, he has two prior DUI arrests, including one conviction in 2013, which led to his license being suspended for 210 days because he was tagged as “an immediate threat.” The other DUI arrest was just last month in Connecticut. He was also arrested in Baytown, Texas, on Feb. 11, 2019, on possession of a crack pipe.

According to WMUR, Zhukovskyy was charged for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in April 2012, but charges were dismissed. He also pleaded guilty to two drug charges in January 2017 for possession of cocaine and heroin, but just paid a fine.

In addition to the driving and drug charges, according to the Boston Globe, Zhukovskyy received a 90-day suspended jail sentence in Connecticut in 2015 for larceny after he admitted to stealing ladders and windows at a Home Deport warehouse.

Massachusetts police also found suspected heroin pockets in his home. Zhukovskyy pleaded not guilty at Tuesday’s arraignment.

Video of the arraignment is available here:

Zhukovskyy is not an illegal alien, but is a citizen of Ukraine who resides here on a green card and has been living here with his family for 13 years. However, a green card does not entitle anyone to an affirmative right to remain in this country. It’s a probationary period for them to demonstrate “good moral character” (INA 316(e)). While there are, unfortunately, many Americans who have DUI and drug charges, it should go without saying that immigrants – legal or otherwise – should not be allowed to remain here without good moral character.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has confirmed with CR that “a detainer has been placed to take Mr. Zhukovskyy into custody at the conclusion of local criminal proceedings.”

Obviously, when it comes to illegal aliens, it makes sense that any illegal arrested for any crime should be deported since they must be deported even if they did not commit any crimes. While we might not want a threshold of deporting legal immigrants for any misdemeanor, there is no reason someone with multiple misdemeanors that includes dangerous driving offenses should be allowed to remain in the country. What is clear is that ICE should have access to all records of foreign nationals and they should be aware of multiple criminal offenses, especially in this case, when there were numerous cross-state arrests that would each individually be viewed as low level within the respective states, but taken together, pain the picture of someone who should be deported.

It’s clear from the fact that ICE is only now requesting information on the 2017 drug conviction that it had no idea of his status at the time.

The 2015 larceny conviction should have made him deportable right away and ICE should have been notified. Theft is included in a crime of moral turpitude making legal immigrants deportable under 8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(2)(A). Then again, in 2017, Zhukovskyy should have been deportable because drug possession (except for certain marijuana offenses) make an alien deportable under 8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(2)(B).

The fact that someone like this could have continued to rack up driving offenses for this long without his past history ever being conveyed to the right authorities demonstrates how the weakness in enforcing current law leads to so many avoidable murders. All deaths at the hands of foreign nationals whom we could have deported are, by definition, avoidable. This is one of the most redressible problems from a public policy standpoint because no foreign criminals should ever cycle in and out of the criminal justice system for years without being removed.

What’s worse is that sanctuary states like Massachusetts work to hide criminal records from ICE to ensure that they can’t weed out the criminal elements among the many good immigrants in this country. Jessica Vaughan of Center for Immigration Studies, who lived in Massachusetts for many years, told CR that Massachusetts laws are “inadequate to protect the public.”

“It is evident that the commonwealth of Massachusetts is failing to manage the issuance of regular and commercial driver’s licenses to prevent unqualified, unsafe drivers from obtaining these credentials, and yet at the same time, the Legislature wants to add to the problem by allowing illegal aliens to receive driver’s licenses. This will make the problem worse because the Registry of Motor Vehicles will have no way to authenticate their identity, meaning that they will have no clue about their past driving history or suitability for a license. Clearly, the state needs to be more restrictive in screening for licenses, not less.”

Then there is the issue of undermining federal immigration officers. According to Vaughan, the bill before the state Senate “would not only discourage sharing of information between local and federal authorities about non-citizens who are a danger to the public, but it would protect them from contact with ICE and even mandate their release while charges are pending, even if ICE is seeking to deport them.”

So rather than preventing situations like this, the bill would also “require the release of an illegal alien who is charged with an atrocity like this – guaranteeing that they remain free in the country and likely free from consequences for their actions.”

Current law could have worked to save the lives of these seven individuals based on the larceny and drug charges. But Congress should go a step further and make two DUIs grounds for deporting legal immigrants. We see so often that manslaughter or homicide is born out of refusal to enforce current law, especially when deportable offenses were suggestive of the ultimate offenses that proved fatal.

In this case, Zhukovskyy should have been deported anyway, but Congress needs to ensure that repeat DUI offenders are deported and that DUI arrests of aliens are sent to ICE.

At Tuesday’s arraignment where Zhukovskyy was charged with seven negligent homicides, Judge Peter H. Bornstein said his “criminal and driving history exhibit a pattern of operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner. If released, he will likely present a danger to the safety of defendant or the public.”

The big question is why was this history enough to allow him to remain in the country for the past four years? Moreover, the suspect’s father told the Boston Herald that his son “recently” obtained a green card. If that is in fact true, then it would mean that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) adjusted his status, even though he had such a robust criminal record.

At the end of the day, Edward Corr, 58, of Lakeville, Mass., Jo-Ann Corr, 58, of Lakeville, Mass., Michael Ferazzi, 62, of Contoocook, N.H., Albert Mazza, 59, of Lee, N.H., Desma Oakes, 42, of Concord, N.H., Aaron Perry, 45, of Farmington, N.H., and Daniel Pereira, 58, of Riverside, R.I., are all dead thanks to the systemic breakdown of enforcing current immigration laws.

Yet, somehow the deaths of Americans due to the lack of immigration enforcement is never as sexy as the death of illegal aliens at the hands of cartels being blamed on our border agents. Sadly, these avoidable murders happen every day and go unreported in the media. Woman Who Claimed Trump Raped Her Backtracks, Makes Insane Statement Even CNN Can’t Handle

By Townhall. Last night during an interview with CNN, Carroll backtracked her claims and then made an insane statement about rape.

“You don’t feel like a victim?” Cooper asked.

“I was not thrown on the ground and ravished, which, the word ‘rape’ carries so many sexual connotations. This was not sex…this was not sexual,” Carroll said.

“I think most people think of rape, it is a violent assault,” Cooper responded.

“I think most people think of rape as sexy,” Carroll said. “Think of the fantasies.”

Trump Denies Raping Author E Jean Carroll

By The Independent. Donald Trump has denied raping the author E Jean Carroll, the latest woman to accuse him of sexual assault, partly on the basis that “she’s not my type”.

Carroll appeared on CNN on Monday to provide further details of the alleged mid-1990s incident in which she claims Mr Trump cornered her in a dressing room, forced her up against a wall and raped her. . .

Speaking to American publication The Hill in the Oval Office, the US president said Carroll was “totally lying”. He added: “I’ll say it with great respect: Number one, she’s not my type. Number two, it never happened. It never happened, OK?

“I don’t know anything about her,” he said, referring to Carroll. In previous interviews he has suggested he never met the author, until it emerged the pair have been pictured together. “I know nothing about this woman. I know nothing about her. She is – it’s just a terrible thing that people can make statements like that.” (Read more from “Trump Denies Raping Author E Jean Carroll” HERE)

Don Jr. Confronts AOC’s Concentration Camp Remarks with Video of Actual Holocaust Survivors

Over the weekend, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., continued to get blowback over her now-infamous comments in which she compared U.S. government facilities to concentration camps used by the Third Reich. This time it came from Donald Trump Jr.

“Guess who knows more about concentration camps than you?,” the president’s son tweeted at the New York congresswoman. “These Holocaust survivors. They have a message for you. Why don’t you listen — for once[?]”

Trump’s tweet included a video from Turning Point USA in which Holocaust survivors David Tuck and Sami Steigmann address the freshman Democrat’s recent controversial comparison of ICE detention facilities to World War II concentration camps.

“I was in four concentration camps,” said Tuck, who shows the number on his arm to the camera. “We have no concentration camps here. This is just a political comment.” He later said, “don’t talk to me about concentration camps.”

“I went through it,” Steigmann — who was subjected to Nazi medical experiments — says in the video. “How can you, looking at my face, tell me that the camps that we have in the south are concentration camps? What you are doing, you are insulting every victim of the Holocaust. Shame on you.”

The tweet and video are available here.

Since making her remarks last week, in which she said that overburdened ICE detention facilities are “exactly like” concentration camps used during the Holocaust, Ocasio-Cortez has been invited to educate herself on the matter by visiting the camps by both Polish government officials and a Holocaust remembrance group. She declined the latter invitation over the weekend, claiming that it was a “far-right” move for “political gain.” (For more from the author of “Don Jr. Confronts AOC’s Concentration Camp Remarks with Video of Actual Holocaust Survivors” please click HERE)

Bernie Sanders Proposes Plan to Wipe out College Debt for About 45M Americans

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) announced on Monday that he will introduce legislation that would eliminate the estimated $1.6 trillion worth of student debt held by around 45 million U.S. citizens.

Sanders claimed that this massive expenditure can be funded by a 0.5 percent tax on all stock trades, a 0.005 percent fee on derivative trades, and a 0.1 percent tax on bond trades. According to the Washington Post, Sanders believes these taxes would raise $2 trillion over a 10-year period. He did not indicate whether or not his plan included research on if this would have an impact on the stock market or stock trading itself.

The proposed plan would also make community colleges and public four-year colleges free. It is not clear at this point what the full cost of Sanders’ plan would be, when subsidies for public colleges is factored in. The debt forgiveness portion of this legislation would necessarily also have some degree of administrative costs. The plan to cancel student debt appears to be a a one-time offer, and not something that would apply to all holders of student debt in the future.

This bill is in line with other proposals for massive government intervention from Sanders, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist.

Sanders called the plan “truly a revolutionary proposal.”

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) will introduce similar legislation in the House of Representatives. The legislation also has the support of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who joined Sanders at a news conference Monday morning to announce the proposal.

Fellow presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has also proposed a similar plan for student debt forgiveness. However, unlike Warren’s plan which would eliminate only a percentage of student debt based on the household income of the person holding that debt, Sanders’ plan would eliminate all of the debt for every student in the country. regardless of personal wealth or household income level.

Sanders introduced a similar bill, the “College For All Act,” in 2016. (For more from the author of “Bernie Sanders Proposes Plan to Wipe out College Debt for About 45M Americans” please click HERE)
