Obama DHS Secretary Makes Stunning Admission on Border Detentions

Former Obama administration DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson “freely admitted” to Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday morning that his department “expanded family detention” as well as detained some children alone, but added that he believed the decision “was necessary at the time.” . . .

“Without a doubt the images, and the reality, from 2014, just like 2018, are not pretty,” Johnson said. “And so we expanded family detention. We had then 34,000 beds for family detention. Only 95 of 34,000 equipped to deal with families. And so we expanded it. I freely admit it was controversial. We believed it was necessary at the time. I still believe it is necessary to remain a certain capability for families.” . . .

“We did not want to go so far as to separate families, but unless we deal with the underlying causes that are motivating people in the first place we are going to continue to bang our heads against the wall on this issue,” he said.

The Trump administration has come under significant fire of late for both expanded family detention as well as the individual detention of children, two policies that were in place under the Obama and previous administrations.

Watch: Socialists Harass, Attack DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen While She’s Eating Dinner

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen received an earful from angry demonstrators as she dined Tuesday at a Mexican restaurant in D.C.

According to USA Today, members of the local Democratic Socialists of America chapter showed up to MXDC to confront her over the Trump administration’s schismatic “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.

The group shared a video of the interaction in a Facebook post.

“We’re in downtown DC disrupting DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s dinner at MXDC,” the group wrote. “The irony isn’t lost on us that this is a Mexican restaurant.”

The post claimed Nielsen “has led the program to tear apart (families)” and that Tuesday’s demonstration was “to tell her to put an end to separating families, to step down as head of the department, and that (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) must be abolished.”

Nielsen has faced mounting calls for her resignation in recent days as reports of families being separated by federal officials have outraged social, political and religious leaders across the ideological spectrum.

In what is believed to be the video of Tuesday’s confrontation, protesters can be heard taunting Nielsen and shouting questions in the direction of her table.

“How can you enjoy a Mexican dinner as you’re deporting and imprisoning tens of thousands of people who come here seeking asylum in the United States?” Jesse Rabinowitz asked. “We call on you to end family separation and abolish ICE.”

The protester later told USA Today that Nielsen did not acknowledge the demonstration and everyone involved had already left the restaurant by the time law enforcement arrived. Another video appeared to show Secret Service officers questioning protesters in the area.

A subsequent statement from the group indicated police “attempted to detain several members of MDCDSA to no avail.”

Nielsen left MXDC a short time later, according to a Twitter video posted Tuesday evening.

The secretary’s spokesperson confirmed the disruption in a series of tweets the same night.

“While having a work dinner tonight, the Secretary and her staff heard from a small group of protestors who share her concern with our current immigration laws that have created a crisis on our southern border,” Tyler Q. Houlton wrote.

A member of the left-wing political group said the protest was “nothing compared to the horrors” Nielsen has caused to families impacted by Trump administration policies enforced through the Department of Homeland Security.

“We will not stand by and let Secretary Nielsen dine in peace, while she is directing her employees to tear little girls away from their mothers and crying boys away from their fathers at our borders,” Margaret McLaughlin said. Bombshell: Obama Told Migrants Not to Send Their Kids to Border, or This Would Happen

By The Daily Wire. Former President Barack Obama told Latin American parents in June 2014 not to send their kids to the United States’ Southern Border because his administration would send them back if they made it.

In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Obama warned about the dangers of traveling through Central America to reach the U.S. border.

“Our message absolutely is don’t send your children unaccompanied, on trains or through a bunch of smugglers,” Obama said. “We don’t even know how many of these kids don’t make it, and may have been waylaid into sex trafficking or killed because they fell off a train.”

Dem. Senator Avoids Saying Whether She Protested Obama’s Detention Centers

By The Daily Caller. Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin avoided answering whether or not she had protested against President Obama’s immigration detention tactics during an appearance on CNN with Brooke Baldwin on Wednesday afternoon.

“You know, on this issue that we get into a moment where we’re making progress and then when it stalls we turn around,” Sen. Baldwin stated. “I think we all need to continue to be focused on it and press it through.”

“The American people need confidence we can solve problems. Nobody believes that we have an immigration system that works,” she went on to say.

The President signed an executive order ending the policy of separating parents from their children when they are apprehended illegally trying to enter the country on Wednesday. Many are pointing out that this is actually an Obama era policy, even though the current president has received a lot of heat for it. (Read more from “Dem. Crowder’s Latest ‘Change My Mind’ Features Shocking Story of Legal Immigrant Fearful of Illegal Alien Crime

In the latest video in CRTV host Steven Crowder’s popular “Change My Mind” series, Crowder takes on border security, asking people to sit down for a conversation and change his mind about immigration reform and building a border wall.

“We didn’t get many sit-down interviews in this one; we got a lot of drive-by yellings,” he says, including one person telling him to “build the wall with your a**.”

But one individual who sat down with Crowder had an amazing story to tell. She says she is a Mexican-American immigrant, and while she told him she doesn’t support the wall, she did explain her fear of illegal immigrants committing crimes in her neighborhood. Her face was blurred for her safety.

“I know a lot of people that are, like, um, are criminals!” she said, adding that they haven’t been deported. She even asked Crowder how she can report these people to the authorities.

Crowder spoke with her further off-camera. “It breaks your heart, it really does,” he says. “Keep in mind, this lady was a legal immigrant subdued into fear by illegal immigrants in her neighborhood.”

Crowder says her story shows how the liberal narrative on sanctuary cities can hurt people.

“The fake victim culture creates real victims, usually the ones following the rules,” Crowder says. (For more from the author of “Crowder’s Latest ‘Change My Mind’ Features Shocking Story of Legal Immigrant Fearful of Illegal Alien Crime” please click HERE)

Retired Border Agent: Here’s How to Scare off Illegals

Tea Party Patriots Action Co-founder Jenny Beth Martin traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border to chat one-on-one with some border patrol agents who are fed up with the federal government and are taking matters into their own hands.

Martin shared footage of her walk and talk along the border with Zach Taylor, a retired border patrol officer and current chairman of Chairman of National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers.

Martin and Taylor walked along the Bryan Terry Border Patrol Station in Bisbee, Arizona, named after the border patrol agent who lost his life in a gun fight with a drug cartel. Martin said a similar attack occurred the very morning of their interview on June 12. A border agent was shot multiple times but was saved thanks to his bulletproof vest. . .

“The whole reason that this push to come to the United States is becoming so violent is because we are turning into a lawless society,” Taylor explained. “There is no downside to violating the law. You can come here illegally, you can act like you’ve been here for 10 years. You can say you’re a DACA person and that’s all you got to do and you get signed up.”

He offered a detailed solution – one he said would strike fear in anyone thinking of entering our country illegally. Let the agents conduct a biography interview of any undocumented person at the border, see if they qualify, and take them directly to an immigration judge, he proposed. Taylor predicted that 80 percent or more would not make the cut. At that point, we should fly them back to home country on military aircraft. That way, their comrades “can see 300 people getting off an aircraft that says, ‘U.S. Air Force.'” (Read more from “Retired Border Agent: Here’s How to Scare off Illegals” HERE)

Watch Mega-Actor Preach the Gospel on MTV

Actor Chris Pratt shared a gospel message in an acceptance speech at the MTV awards Monday, interspersing a serious message about God’s love in a list of “9 Rules for Life” for the younger generation.

“This being a generation award, I’m going to cut to the chase and I’m going to speak to you — the next generation — okay,” he said. “I accept the responsibility as your elder, so, listen up. This is what I call ‘9 Rules from Chris Pratt, Generation award winner.”

Some of the rules were humorous or tongue in cheek. “Breathe,” he said. “If you don’t, you’ll suffocate.” Or “Don’t be a turd. If you’re strong be a protector and if you’re smart be a humble influencer.” And of course a poop joke:

“If you have to poop at a party, but you’re embarrassed because you’re going to stink up the bathroom, just do what I do. Lock the door, sit down. Get all the pee out first, and then once all the pee is done — poop, flush. Boom.”

But his points about God were totally serious and seemed to stem from a conservative view of the Christian gospel. “You have a soul, be careful with it,” he said in Rule 2. And later, “God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do.” (Read more from “Watch Mega-Actor Preach the Gospel on MTV” HERE)

Video: Liberals Complain About Trump’s Immigration Policy, but Facts Point out Their Hypocrisy

As the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border reaches a fever pitch, street reporter Austen Fleccas created and released a compilation video that featured anti-Trump protesters talking about illegal immigration. . .

Fleccas’ video featured many anti-Trump protesters — some of whom expressed their displeasure at Trump’s policies with colorful language and gestures — as well as people who support Trump and his policies, including a Latino woman and an Indian man. . .

The video also features footage of former President Barack Obama talking about cracking down on illegal immigration, as well as footage of similar commentary from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and even former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Fleccas shared the video on his YouTube channel on Tuesday with the caption, “A compilation of all of the immigration protesters I’ve come into contact over the past year and a half. A lot of the immigration issues we have today have been problems for years but most of the demonstrators I’ve spoken with are outraged now because Donald Trump is the president.”

“Another great aspect of Trump’s presidency is that it is allowing for full transparency within our government,” he adds.

CBS: Opioid Crisis Fueled by Drug Industry and Congress

According to former DEA agent turned whistleblower, Joe Rannazzisi, the DEA’s ability to keep opioids off U.S. streets was derailed by “…Congress, lobbyists, and a drug distribution industry that shipped, almost unchecked, hundreds of millions of pills to rogue pharmacies and pain clinics – providing the rocket fuel for a crisis that, over the last two decades, has claimed more than 200,000 lives.”1 (Rannazzisi once ran the DEA’s Office of Diversion Control, the division that regulates and investigates the pharmaceutical industry.)

Last October we shared a story with you that detailed what Rannazzisi has disclosed to 60 Minutes and The Washington Post; that the U.S. Congress had conspired “with drug companies to hobble the DEA by erecting a protection racket for prescription opioid profits.” And now, 60 Minutes has come out with a follow-up.

Reporter Learns the Hard Way Not to Interrupt the Donald, Gets Blindsided by Response

A reporter who tried to interrupt President Donald Trump during a news conference found out the hard way that interrupting the Donald isn’t a good idea during an impromptu news conference on Friday. Now, the media is up in arms. . .

Afterward, he decided to meet with reporters for a few minutes to field some questions. North Korea, as you can imagine, was at the top of the agenda

“I want to have a good relationship with North Korea,” Trump said. “I want to have a good relationship with many other countries. And what I have done, if you remember, if you are fair, which most of you aren’t … but if you are fair, when I came in, people thought we were probably going to war with North Korea.”

Apparently, one reporter began yelling a question at him, which earned the opprobrium of the president with just three words: “Quiet. Quiet. Quiet,” Trump said as he held out his hand.

Zalmay Khalilzad: Why Iran Will Choose to Negotiate With Trump

By The Omaha World-Herald. The Trump administration’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal and a subsequent speech by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have engendered a range of responses: Some welcomed the new hard line, but most expressed concern and criticism.

Critics have accused the administration of calling for war or regime change; others have denounced its strategy as unrealistic.

In actuality, though, the Trump administration’s approach has a reasonable chance of succeeding with Iran. A key point that seems to have been overlooked by many of the commentators is that the Trump administration has indicated a willingness to enter into negotiations, even as it escalates pressure against Iran through sanctions.

And a policy of maximum pressure, followed by negotiation and deal-making, means that a comprehensive agreement between the two countries is not out of the question.

Perhaps the most intriguing message embedded in the Pompeo speech was the signaling of a desire to engage Iran in negotiation for a comprehensive agreement leading to normalization of relations. Pompeo invited Iran to “look at our diplomacy with North Korea” as evidence of the administration’s willingness to engage adversaries in negotiations on very complex issues.
