Trump Doubles Down on Roe v. Wade, Hints at Major State-Wide Change to Landmark Case

President Donald Trump addressed his Supreme Court pick in light of Roe v. Wade on Sunday when he said that abortion may soon “end up with states.”

“Maybe someday it will be to the states. You never know how that’s going to turn out. That’s a very complex question,” Trump told Fox News Maria Bartiromo in a Sunday interview, according to its transcript.

“The Roe v. Wade is probably the one that people are talking about in terms of having an effect, but we’ll see what happens, but it could very well end up with states at some point,” Trump added.

Bartiromo previously asked the president whether he would ask his nominees if they would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The president said that even if he won’t ask the potential justices their views on overturning a woman’s right to abortion, he will put conservative justices on the bench.

Former CNN Producer Torches Acosta: You’re ‘Truly Embarrassing’ and Confirm Anti-Trump Media Bias

. . .CNN’s Jim Acosta once again embarrassed himself at a White House event, where we celebrated the six-month anniversary of the tax reform package becoming law; a law that has formed the foundation for our rapid economic growth. As he left the podium, Acosta shouted if the president would “stop calling the press the enemy of the people.”

Acosta quite nakedly tried to pin blame on the tragic shooting at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, which left five people dead. It was not Trump’s fault. The shooter, 38-year-old Jarrod Ramos, used a shotgun to commit the attack and his grievance with the publication dated back to 2011-12. The Left tried to blame the Trump White House; it blew up in their faces. Sorry, but this is what gives credence to the fake news criticism, which by the way, originated with Hillary Clinton, not Trump. Even a former CNN producer, Steve Krakauer, torched Acosta for his behavior, saying what he did captured why many are losing trust in the media. It also reinforces the notion that the elite media is biased, they’re allies of the Democratic Party, and they’re unabashedly anti-Trump. I know—preaching to the choir here.

Rep. Issues Serious Warning for Rod Rosenstein

By Townhall. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray [went to] Capitol Hill Thursday morning to testify about the FBI’s conduct during the 2016 presidential election. The House Judiciary Committee members had plenty to ask the two men about the recent IG report that exposed the anti-Trump bias of some FBI agents. One of those agents, Peter Strzok, met with committee members behind closed doors this week.

The committee is also fed up with the apparent resistance from the DOJ and FBI for documents related to the agencies’ conduct, specifically whether informants spied on the Trump campaign. . .

Still, other committee members were impatient for Wray and Rosenstein to hurry up and provide whatever evidence they may have that can once and for all conclude the investigation. . .

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) grilled Rosenstein about keeping information from Congress and for directing Strzok to keep quiet during their meetings. . .

“You have seven days to get your act together,” Jordan said. (Read more from “Rep. Issues Serious Warning for Rod Rosenstein” HERE)

Highlights From the Tense Wray-Rosenstein Hearing

By The Hill. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday faced a fierce grilling from House Republicans amid the escalating feud between the Justice Department and allies of President Trump on Capitol Hill. . .

In one of the most confrontational exchanges of the day, Jordan accused the deputy attorney general of “hiding information” from Congress — a charge Rosenstein virulently denied.

“Now Mr. Jordan, I am the deputy attorney general of the United States. Okay?” Rosenstein snapped in obvious annoyance. “I am not the person doing the redacting. I am responsible for responding to your concerns, as I am … So your statement that I am personally keeping information from you, trying to conceal information —”

“You’re the boss, Mr. Rosenstein,” Jordan interrupted.

“That’s correct, and my job is to make sure we respond to your requests. And we have, sir. Again, I appreciate your concerns—” (Read more from “Highlights From the Tense Wray-Rosenstein Hearing” HERE)

Analyst: Travel Ban Ruling Is a ‘Fantastic Fulfillment of Osama Bin Laden’s Vision’

On MSNBC’s Tuesday broadcast of “Deadline: White House,” former 2008 McCain presidential campaign manager and current MSNBC political analyst Steve Schmidt reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Trump administration’s travel ban by ranting that Trump had fulfilled “Osama bin Laden’s vision” for America by implementing the restrictions.

Despite not all countries on the travel ban list being Muslim-majority nations, Schmidt was still convinced that the ban imposes a religious test on Muslims who want to enter the United States. . .

SCHMIDT: “Well, you know, I’m thinking about a former special agent of the FBI ?Ali Soufan. Ali Soufan, with John O’Neal came very, very, very close to disrupting the attacks on 9/11. He was a Lebanese immigrant and a Muslim. Is America better off with Ali Soufan here? I would argue he is.

“And so, today was a fantastic fulfillment of Osama bin Laden’s vision by Donald J. Trump. What Osama bin Laden hoped to provoke was a war of civilization, a war between the West and one billion Muslims. And so, what Donald Trump and this Muslim ban signaled to the world is that Muslims are not welcome here, that this is — whether the conservative justices say that, in fact, this is about executive power — the President’s clear intent was to impose a religious test, and that is as fundamentally un-American as anything that he’s done over the course of this presidency.

“The only force in the world that has the power to defeat extremist Islamic radicalism is moderate Islam and moderate Islam was dealt a big setback today by this shortsighted, dangerous policy that, again, abrogates all the fine traditions of our country from freedom of religion to welcoming the renewal of the country’s life blood with immigration.”

Business Owner Accused of Hiring a Hitman to Kill a Cop. You Won’t Believe Why

A Houston business owner was arrested on Tuesday, accused of a murder-for-hire plot. The suspect allegedly sought out a hitman to kill a police officer who had issued him several citations for nuisance violations. . .

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo announced the arrest of Mohammed S. Mohamed, who owns a logistics and shipping business. After repeatedly being ticketed for having too many vehicles in his commercial parking lot and other violations, authorities say Mohamed sought to put an end to the citations by hiring out a hit on the police officer writing them.

Acevedo told reporters, “The suspect wanted the officer dead because he believed that the officer was interfering with his business operations. In order for the suspect to get his business [in line] with code, he indicated to a witness that it would’ve cost him tens of thousands of dollars to accomplish it.”

And the alleged plot was rather elaborate. At first, Mohamed is said to have told an undercover officer (who was posing as the hitman) that he wanted the ticket-writing officer maimed. Acevedo said, “He wanted someone to carry out an attack on the officer and disable him by throwing acid in his face.”

But the chief added that Mohamed soon changed his mind: “Due to the possibility of the suspect getting more tickets and additional penalties, he ended up deciding that, ‘No, that’s not enough. I don’t want to just maim this officer. I don’t want to just injure this officer. I want him killed because that’s the only way that this will go away.’ The suspect specifically wanted to hire a hitman.”

Socialist Logic: Raising Taxes Will Pay for Everything for Everybody

After winning the Democratic primary for her congressional district in New York Tuesday night, 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared on MSNBC to talk about how she would implement some of her campaign promises if elected.

Ocasio-Cortez, whose viral campaign video emphasized the financial struggles of working-class New Yorkers, promises Medicare for all, a federal jobs guarantee, and tuition-free public universities. When asked how she planned to financially support these extensive social systems, Ocasio-Cortez slammed the GOP tax cut.

“Not only did we have a $400 billion GOP tax cut that could’ve actually forgiven every single federal student loan in America, we spent that money in December, and we spent it on tax cuts for the corporations and the very rich,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“It means reviewing the Bush tax cuts, it means making sure also that we understand the power of the purse that Congress has,” she said. (For more from the author of “Socialist Logic: Raising Taxes Will Pay for Everything for Everybody” please click HERE)

Watch: This Ad Shows How the Political Left Has Become Totally Unspooled

There are two Americas. One America sees a booming economy, record low unemployment; historic lows within the black community, and consumer and small business confidence reaching their highest levels in years. The other America sees darkness, a slide to authoritarianism, hopelessness, and a racist president who is throwing children into concentration camps. We’re becoming Nazi Germany when in fact none of this is happening. Also, the definition of what makes someone a national socialist surely has changed; we’re just enforcing immigration laws. Yes, I know the Left calls anyone with whom they hate a Nazi—and that slide into absurdity has boiled over.

From calls to harass Trump officials in public, to jokes about killing Trump, blowing up the White House, and mock beheadings of the president—the Left has become totally unspooled. They talk about civility and its breakdown, but only they have the license to call a member of the First Family a “feckless c**t.” So, please—enough with these renewed calls for civility.

Hypocrisy Alert: CNN Reporter Angers Rep. Ellison Over Question About His Past Ties to Nation of Islam

The Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration’s executive order limiting immigration from terror-prone nations was constitutional. You lose again, liberals. Yet, for Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MI), the soon to be former deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee and candidate for Minnesota Attorney General, it was a dark day for the country, of course (via The Hill):

Today’s decision undermines the core value of religious tolerance on which America was founded. I am deeply disappointed that this ruling gives legitimacy to discrimination and Islamaphobia,” Ellison, who is one of the only two sitting Muslim members of Congress, said in a statement.

Ellison went on to compare the decision to the Korematsu decision in 1944 that allowed Japanese internment camps, as well as the Plessy v. Ferguson decision in 1896, upholding segregation laws in public facilities.

“Today’s ruling is unjust. Like the Korematsu decision that upheld Japanese internment camps or Plessy v. Ferguson that established ‘separate but equal,’ this decision will someday serve as a marker of shame,” Ellison said.

The Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision to uphold Trump’s travel ban, saying the president has broad discretion to suspend the entry of aliens into the U.S.

Man Paddle Boards to Business Meeting in a Suit to Avoid Being Late

Sure, it’s common in New York City to see men in suits commuting on the subway or in taxis — but on a paddleboard across the Hudson River? That may be a first.

Eunice Rivers was taking the ferry to work in Jersey City Thursday morning when she spotted a man paddleboarding across the Hudson River wearing a full suit, dress shoes and all. Without hesitation, she grabbed her phone to capture the odd moment on video and share it over social media.

The mysterious commuter turned out to be Scott Holt, who lives in Jersey City. The aspiring comedian says he was running late for a meeting in New York City with a potential manager, and he decided to hop on his paddleboard to cross the river faster. The trip only took him about half-hour to complete. . .

“Boats’ wakes were coming at me from different angles and the current was quick closer to Manhattan,” Holt told News 4 over the phone. He admits that there were a few moments where he almost fell into the water.

When he reached a closed water taxi port on the New York side of the Hudson, there was a very confused cop and an irate Water Taxi captain waiting for him. (Read more from “Man Paddle Boards to Business Meeting in a Suit to Avoid Being Late” HERE)
