WATCH: Students Condemn Trump’s Decision to Send Troops to the Border… Before Finding out Their ‘Favorite’ President Did the Same Thing

By The Daily Wire. On Saturday, Campus Reform uploaded a video in which Media Director Cabot Phillips speaks with students at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

When Phillips asks the students their opinion on Trump sending troops to the southern border of the United States, their reaction is exactly what one would expect.

“I feel like it’s not justified … it is like a totally uncalled for act of power,” one student said. Another student said she thinks the move “puts a bad light on America.” . . .

Then Phillips flipped the script: “Did you know that President Obama did the exact same thing when he was president?” he asked.

The student who called Trump’s actions an “uncalled for act of power” simply replied, “Like…” followed by a lengthy pause. He eventually finished his thought, saying, “I don’t know anything about that, personally. So, the difference is definitely with publicity and like, false information.” (Read more from “WATCH: Students Condemn Trump’s Decision to Send Troops to the Border… Before Finding out Their ‘Favorite’ President Did the Same Thing” HERE)

Gov. Brown Says He’s ‘Close to an Agreement’ with Trump Administration on California National Guard Deployment

By Capital Public Radio. Gov. Jerry Brown says he is “close to an agreement” with the Trump administration on deploying California’s National Guard to the Mexico border, but tweets from President Donald Trump seem to indicate otherwise.

On Wednesday morning, Trump tweeted that “Jerry Brown is trying to back out of the National Guard at the Border” and that “the people of the state are not happy.”

The Governor’s Office, meanwhile, has maintained that nothing has changed since California submitted a proposed agreement to the administration last week. (Read more from “Gov. Brown Says He’s ‘Close to an Agreement’ with Trump Administration on California National Guard Deployment” HERE)

Needum said he was doing what any firefighter across the country would have done.

“I’m no different than any other firefighter in this country,” he said. “For some reason, whatever reason that is, it was me that day.” (Read more from “Hero Firefighter Who Pulled Southwest Passenger from Window Recounts Harrowing Story” HERE)

Firefighter on Board Fatal Southwest Flight Speaks on Trying to Save Woman

By NBC News. It was before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when Andrew Needum, a firefighter from a Dallas suburb, boarded Southwest Flight 1380 with his wife, their two young children and his parents.

They were rushing that morning to make the flight, and heading home to Texas after their first trip to New York City. There, Needum’s parents celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary and he got to shake hands with firefighters and visit the 9/11 Memorial and the New York City Fire Museum . . .

Needum, 34, is credited as one of the passengers who sprang into action to help a woman who was partially sucked out of the plane’s window when an engine exploded after takeoff. She later died from her injuries as the chaos unfolded 30,000 feet in the air, forcing an emergency landing in Philadelphia . . .

Out of respect, Needum declined to discuss exactly what he witnessed while trying to save the victim — Jennifer Riordan, a Wells Fargo executive from New Mexico.

But he praised two other passengers — real estate worker Tim McGinty and retired nurse Peggy Phillips — who helped pull Riordan back inside the plane and then performed CPR. (Read more from “Firefighter on Board Fatal Southwest Flight Speaks on Trying to Save Woman” HERE)

Investigation Launches After Video Shows Teacher Drag 7-Yr-Old by the Ankle off the Bus

By The Daily Caller. A Tennessee elementary school teacher is under investigation after video surfaced showing him dragging a seven-year-old student by his ankle off the school bus.

The Robert R. Church Elementary teacher tried to break up a fight between students on a bus and ended up dragging a young black student upside down off the bus, according to the Shelby County Schools.

The mother of the student, Kimberly Hardin, said her son came home with a concussion and a bruise on his back, adding that the school district did not inform her about it until a few days later. A fifth grader apparently recorded the incident and his parent sent it over to Hardin. (Read more from “Investigation Launches After Video Shows Teacher Drag 7-Yr-Old by the Ankle off the Bus” HERE)

Piers Morgan Is Being Pummeled by the Left over What He Said About ‘Gender-Fluidity’

Piers Morgan remained defiant about his comments that “gender fluidity” is “damaging to society” even after a public furor arose from the LGBT community. . .

Morgan said that “gender-fluidity” was damaging to society even as he supported transgender persons “transitioning” from one gender to the other.

“Where are we with the transgender debate?” he asked. “Because I’ve always come at this from I absolutely think anyone that wants to go through a process of transitioning from male to female or female to male, it’s such an incredibly difficult thing to go through and so time consuming and so on and emotionally hard I would completely support people to do that.”

“Where I have a real problem is with this whole opting out of gender, being gender-fluid,” he continued. “Waking up one day and thinking you wanna be whatever you feel like.”

New Yorkers Are Asked About Republican Friends – Their Responses Are Insanity

A new video from PragerU shows that many residents of New York City don’t have any Republican friends — and don’t want to.

“I don’t like that kind of extremism.”

. . .

One woman said she wouldn’t be friends with a Republican because she doesn’t like “that kind of extremism.”

Another woman said, “I don’t know, I feel like people in New York are more open minded, and not as like, ‘Oh, no abortions! No this!’ More just like minding their own business. I don’t know, less wanting to regulate everything.”

When the interviewer, Will Witt, pointed out that it was Democrats who were more fond of regulation, she responded, “I don’t know. I honestly don’t know that much about politics.” (Read more from “New Yorkers Are Asked About Republican Friends – Their Responses Are Insanity” HERE)

Trump’s Presidency Has Hit Liberal Comedian Amy Schumer Hard – Here’s What She Said

Liberal comedian Amy Schumer says that the “nightmare” of the Trump presidency has been so difficult on her that she’s doing less stand-up comedy . . .

“I’ve been doing less standup, just because it’s not funny,” she said in the interview, referring to how politics has been such a discouragement for her . . .

Schumer was publicizing her new movie, I Feel Pretty, about a woman who suffers a head injury and wrongly imagines that she is as attractive as a supermodel.

The comedian said that the movie would have been better with a woman of color as the leading actress instead of herself.

“It’s not a perfect movie,” she says of I Feel Pretty, which she also produced. “It would be great if my role had been played by a woman of color and there were more trans people in it, more people with disabilities.” She readjusts the pillow behind her. “But it’s a step in the right direction, I hope.”

Viral Video of Black Man Demanding (And Getting) Free ‘Reparations’ Coffee from Starbucks Is Not What You Think

Political vlogger Bryan Sharpe, AKA “Hotep Jesus,” filmed himself walking into a Starbucks and demanding free “reparations” coffee from a white barista in light of recent allegedly racist incidents involving black men at two of the company’s stores. Sharpe did indeed receive the free coffee and the video quickly went viral online. In Twitter postings, Sharpe implored other black folks to tape themselves demanding free coffee, too, as part of the “#StarbucksChallenge.”

Sharpe’s stunt, however, was not done to get free things by virtue of his skin tone and encourage others “entitled” to do the same, but to highlight how “white guilt” and “black privilege” got him free coffee, which, he says, is actually racist.

He also noted the potent “business” aspect to modern ostensibly anti-racism movements.

“Racism is a business,” Sharpe told The Blaze. “Thanks to the ridiculousness of BLM activists, it’s the new publicity stunt — and I think I just proved it.”

Prefacing the event, Sharpe says at the top of the video that he’s about to go inside the Starbucks located behind him and get his “free coffee.” He was apparently confident the white guilt at any liberal Starbucks would be abundant. Watch What Happens When Two Pro-Gun Control College Students Shoot for the First Time

Conservative comedian and commentator Steven Crowder likes conducting social experiments where he sets up a booth in a public place with a film crew in tow and asks random pedestrians to “change my mind” about a certain hot-button issue.

Crowder recently carried out such an experiment on the topic of gun control. He met two female college students who were more than a little misinformed about guns, gun control proposals and gun laws that are already on the books, though they expressed an open mind when Crowder gently corrected some of their misconceptions.

Those two young women — neither of whom owned or had ever fired a gun — ultimately agreed to take Crowder up on his offer of a follow-up segment where they would join him at a gun range and then learn the basics of firearms, how to shoot and how to legally purchase a gun . . .

As a reminder to our readers, here are some of the fundamentals of gun safety: Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded, always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot, never point the firearm at something or someone you don’t want to shoot, and always be aware of what is around and behind your target.

Once they were familiar with these rules and the basics of the firearms themselves, it was off to the actual range, where the young college students — equipped with the requisite ear and eye protection — took turns firing a revolver and several semi-automatic handguns. They also fired an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle, as well as a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun. Heroic Female Pilot: Flying Planes Gives Me the Opportunity ‘to Witness for Christ on Almost Every Flight’

When the women of America or around the world want to look for a role model, they might want to start with Tammie Jo Shults, 56, the pilot who flew Southwest Flight 1380 to safety on Tuesday after part of its left engine ripped off, and a religious Christian who once said that piloting planes gave her the opportunity “to witness for Christ on almost every flight.”

The flight was supposed to fly from La Guardia Airport in New York City to Dallas Love airport, and because of the emergency situation had to land in Philadelphia. Shults was amazingly calm during the crisis, as audio below can testify. Meanwhile many passengers truly felt that they might die after they heard a huge boom and a window of the plane blew out, and they posted their fears on social media . . .

One passenger described the crisis on Instagram: “Our engine that blew out at 38000 ft. A window blew out, a man saved us all as he jumped to cover the window. … The pilot, Tammy Jo was so amazing! She landed us safely in Philly.”

Rejected at aviation career day at her high school because she was a girl, Shults enrolled at Mid America Nazarene University in veterinary medicine, but then . . . “In my junior year I went to an Air Force winging with a friend whose brother was getting his wings. And, lo, there was a girl in his class,” Shults recalls. Applying for the Air Force after she graduated, she was denied a test, but the Navy grabbed her, and she became one of their first female fighter and the first woman to fly F-18s . . .

A Navy magazine story published in 1993 noted Shults was a member of the Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron (VAQ) 34. The story says that she had flown A-7 and F/A-18 aircraft. She said, “In AOCS (Aviation Officer Candidate School), if you’re a woman (or different in any way), you’re a high profile; you’re under more scrutiny.” She said that chances for women to gain knowledge in the aviation community were limited. “It would be nice if they would take away the ceilings (women) have over our heads,” she said. “In VAQ-34, gender doesn’t matter, there’s no advantage or disadvantage. Which proves my point – if there’s a good mix of gender, it ceases to be an issue.” [source]

Watch: Woman Sucked out of Airplane During Flight

By WND. A female passenger aboard a Southwest Airlines flight was partially sucked out of her plane Tuesday after a window was shattered by an exploding jet engine.

One passenger has died after the person was transported to the hospital in critical condition. It’s unclear whether the deceased passenger is the same person as the woman who was sucked through a window.

National Transportation Safety Board chairman Robert Sumwalt said there’s been a “fatality” but wouldn’t provide more details.

Shrapnel from the engine blast shattered the woman’s window. The flight landed safely in Philadelphia after the incident, according to NBC 10 in Philadelphia. It was originally headed from New York to Dallas.

Todd Baur, a passenger on the flight, told the news station: “One passenger, a woman, was partially … was drawn out towards the out of the plane … was pulled back in by other passengers.”

Woman Who Died After Southwest Airline Explosion Identified as Mom of 2 and Bank Executive

By People. The passenger who died after an engine explosion during a Southwest Airlines flight en route to Dallas from New York City has been identified.

Jennifer Riordan was a bank executive and mother of two, according to the Associated Press. She died after her plane’s engine exploded and shrapnel broke a window, the wire reported.

It is understood that Riordan was critically injured as she was sucked out the window. While other passengers were able to pull her back into the aircraft, witnesses reported that she was in cardiac arrest.

An assistant principal at her children’s school, Albuquerque Catholic School, was the first to share the news of her death in an email to parents, the outlet reported.

Her family released a statement obtained by a WFAA-TV reporter, writing, “Jennifer Riordan has passed away as a result of previously reported events on Southwest Airlines flight #1380.” (Read more from “Woman Who Died After Southwest Airline Explosion Identified as Mom of 2 and Bank Executive” HERE)
