A uniformed officer with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency was asked to leave an Outback Steakhouse on Friday night because he was carrying his sidearm.
The manager of the restaurant reportedly came up to Officer Andrew Ward and his wife Amanda at the Cleveland, Tennessee restaurant, where they were dinning during his dinner break, and asked him to put his gun in his truck.
Ward recounted in a Facebook post (which has been shared over 200,000 times) that the manager explained that the restaurant has a gun-free policy.
Ward responded telling her that he could not put his firearm in his truck because it is part of his uniform.
Management then asked Ward to leave the premises, which he and his wife did.
In his Facebook post, Ward wrote, “What is this country coming to? A uniformed Law Enforcement Officer who is sworn to protect and serve the public, is refused service because they have a firearm! I am disgusted and have no other words!!!”
The officer revealed that restaurant management later contacted him and apologized for the incident.
“There was another customer that was ‘scared for her life’ who was seated across from us,” Ward was told. “This customer also stated that she was afraid because ‘police are shooting people’ and this customer went on to demand to be escorted to her vehicle out of fear of being shot.”
The Director of Media and Community Relations for Bloomin’ Brands, Outback’s parent company, sent WTVC-TV a statement explaining the manager made a mistake in asking Ward to leave.
“We’ve always allowed uniformed law enforcement officers to carry their side arms inside our restaurants,” the statement read. “A manager made a mistake and we have discussed this with her. We have contacted the guest personally and apologized.”
WTVC-TV reported that Outback gave Ward and his wife a $100 gift card, which can be used at the Cleveland location or other affiliated restaurants owned by Bloomin’ Brands, including Carrabba’s and Bonefish Grill.
Ward wrote in a follow-up Facebook post Friday night that he holds no animus toward Outback and has accepted the restaurant chain’s apology.
“Outback has called and apologized to me and my family and we have truly accepted this apology,” he wrote. “There was a mistake made and that’s it… we all make mistakes and and must move forward with our lives.”
“If we move forward and learn from our past mistakes, they are no longer mistakes but Lessons!” the officer continued. “I am not nor will I ever be a perfect man…. there was only one perfect man ever to walk this earth and He died some 2000 years ago to forgive my sins. A Utah police officer who was being attacked on Friday was saved by a passerby with a concealed pistol, officials said.
The unidentified police officer confronted the attacker, identified as Paul Douglas Anderson, after spotting feet dangling from a donation bin in Springville, FOX13 Salt Lake City reported on Saturday. Anderson got out of the bin, but refused to remove his hands from his pocket . . .
Derek Meyer told FOX13 he was driving by the area when he spotted the police lights and saw Anderson attacking the cop. Meyer turned around and pulled out his pistol.
“I carry a gun to protect me and those around me, but primarily I carry a gun to protect my family first and foremost,” Meyer, who has a concealed-carry permit, told FOX13. “Outside of that, if I were to use my gun to protect anyone it would be law enforcement or military personnel.”
Meyer aimed the pistol at Anderson and yelled at him to stop attacking the officer. Anderson bolted from the scene as responding officers arrived. An emotional speech made by Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Lankford about protecting the life of the unborn has received over 4 million views and nearly 100,000 shares on Facebook.
Though posted recently by the pro-life group Live Action, Lankford’s remarks from the Senate floor were made in response to the revelation that Planned Parenthood was allegedly selling aborted babies’ body parts.
The senator contrasted the concern that many have for the treatment of animals, even lab animals, versus the lack of caring for humans, who only need more time to become adults like those listening to his voice.
Lankford recalled seeing footage of animal rights activists holding signs outside of a research facility that read, “It’s not science, it’s violence.”
“Planned Parenthood is using children that are aborted and sending the bodies of those aborted children to research facilities, sometimes for sale, different body parts, to be used in research,” he said.
“These are not mice, these are not lab rats, these are children. Children who have gone through the process of any horrific abortion,” Lankford stated.
He then recounted being in a meeting earlier that day where people spoke passionately about saving Orca whales and stopping horses from being slaughtered.
“But in the middle of all that conversation happening today, there were children still being aborted, with an instrument reaching into a mother, tearing apart a child, but carefully protecting certain organs because those organs would be valuable to sell,” Lankford said.
The Oklahoman went on to discuss how different parts of aborted babies are preserved because they have value to researchers.
“I would tell you,” said Lankford as his voice began to crack, “that child has value. And that every single adult that can hear me right now was once 20 weeks old in the womb. And we can look at each other and understand the difference between that child in the womb and any of us now is time.”
“It doesn’t bring me comfort to know one child is torn apart so maybe they can do research on the child’s organs, so that in some future moment help a different child,” he concluded.
Last week, Lankford spoke in support of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would have essentially banned abortions past 20 weeks.
The bill passed the House, but fell short in the Senate by a vote of 51-46, with Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine joining with Democrats in opposition to the measure.

The U.S. Navy released five more videos Wednesday of a recent “unsafe” intercept by a Russian fighter.
A Russian Su-27 fighter jet intercepted a Navy EP-3 surveillance aircraft flying in international airspace over the Black Sea, according to the Pentagon.
The video of the intercept released Tuesday shows the Russian jet tearing past the American plane at close range, with the fighter coming within 5 feet at times.
The new videos “show the Russian Sukhoi Su-27 intercepting the EP-3 from a very close position, at the same altitude, and with an estimated wingtip-to-wingtip horizontal separation as little as five feet at times,” Navy Capt. Bill Ellis, the commander of Task Force 67, said in a statement accompanying the footage. “For the Russian fighter aircraft to fly this close to the U.S. Navy aircraft, especially for extended periods of time, is unsafe. The smallest lapse of focus or error in airmanship by the intercepting aircrew can have disastrous consequences.
“There is no margin for error and insufficient time or space for our aircrews to take corrective action.”
The U.S. Navy first accused Russia of engaging in “unsafe” behavior Monday, with the Department of State expressing “the highest level of concern.”
According to the military but not shown in the videos, the Russian fighter “executed a hard right-to-left turn” from the right side of the American aircraft “with an excessive closure rate and came within five feet of the EP-3’s right wingtip.”
The Russian jet then crossed in front of the EP-3 at a distance of fewer than 10 feet, “executing a sharp dive below, which resulted in violent turbulence for the U.S. EP-3 and its crewmembers.”
Intercepts by Russian and Chinese fighters are extremely common and have endangered American airmen and women on numerous occasions over the years.

In his first State of the Union address, President Donald Trump called on Republicans and Democrats to set aside their differences and unite on behalf of the American people.
“Tonight, I call upon all of us to set aside our differences, to seek out common ground, and to summon the unity we need to deliver for the people we were elected to serve,” Trump said.
The Democrats were uninterested, refusing to stand as President Trump recounted many of the past year’s achievements for the American people.

At one point, as President Trump criticized open borders policies that “have allowed drugs and gangs to pour into our most vulnerable communities” and have “caused the loss of many innocent lives,” the Democrats started to boo. They were cut off as the president continued, pointing to his guests in the gallery.
“Here tonight are two mothers and two fathers: Evelyn Rodriguez, Freddy Cuevas, Elizabeth Alvarado, and Robert Mickens,” Trump said.
“Their two teenage daughters — Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens — were close friends on Long Island. But in September 2016, on the eve of Nisa’s 16th Birthday, such a happy time it should have been, neither of them came home. These two precious girls were brutally murdered while walking together in their hometown. Six members of the savage MS-13 gang have been charged with Kayla and Nisa’s murders. The Adopt-A-Highway idea, in which a group can submit a bid to the Department of Transportation to adopt a section of highway to clean up for the quid pro quo of having its name on a sign on the highway, has a new user whose name might give freeway drivers pause: the Satanic Temple Arizona. The group has adopted a 2-mile stretch of Interstate 10 near Casa Grande.
America Curl, a member of the Satanic Temple, contacted the Department of Transportation last summer. Curl recalled, “I just want to clean up a highway, please give me a highway to cleanup, and they said fine.” Curl filled out an online form and paid the necessary fee, adding, “Then, you put what you want on the signs. We wrote the Satanic Temple of Arizona. Then, you submit through DOT, and they get back to you really quickly.” . . .
Stu de Haan, one of the founding members of The Satanic Temple Arizona, stated, “People have this perception that one side does the good stuff and the other side does all the bad stuff. What we are really showing here is that Satanism is a legitimate religion, even though it’s non-theistic, we are showing the people do have a sense of community and they want to get involved.”
De Haan asserted that the members of his group do not worship the devil; they just don’t believe in God. The members of his group showed up to pick up trash by using pitchforks just to mock those who criticize them. West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin thinks Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer gave in far too easily when reaching a deal to end the federal government shutdown on Monday.
Senate Democrats originally forced the three-day shutdown by refusing to support a spending bill. They were upset that it did not address the roughly 700,000 illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and were protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Appearing Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Manchin indicated that he wanted the shutdown to end, though he doesn’t believe Schumer had “the stomach” to effectively fight for what he wanted.
When asked by host Chuck Todd if, had the shutdown continued, he still would have filed for re-election in 2018, Manchin responded, “I’d have been hollering a lot louder probably.”
“I don’t think Chuck had the stomach to go on,” he added. “He plays a part differently. I understand the dynamics of our caucuses much different.”
Manchin suggested that as a Democrat from West Virginia, his approach is different from the one taken by Schumer, a senator from New York who leads the entire Democrat caucus in the upper chamber.
“The Democrat caucus is … that’s a big tent,” he said. “And I just said I come from West Virginia. I’m representing my state. I’m not a Washington Democrat. I’m a West Virginia Democrat. That’s a little different.”
Schumer has been criticized for the deal he reached with Republicans to end the shutdown.
Lawmakers agreed to keep the government funded through Feb. 8, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promised that Republicans in the upper chamber intend “to take up legislation … that would address DACA, border security and related issues, as well as disaster relief,” according to ABC News.
As noted by the Washington Examiner, Republicans are upset that Schumer forced the shutdown in the first place.
Many liberals, meanwhile, think the Democrat Party caved on DACA, as they doubt that McConnell will keep his promise to address the issue.
In the days following the end of the shutdown, there has been a lot of back and forth between Schumer and President Donald Trump, as both sides look to get their way on a long-term immigration deal.
Trump has port forth a proposal that would offer amnesty to DACA recipients, in return for border wall funding and limits on legal immigration.
But Schumer has rejected this plan, claiming that the president is simply using DACA recipients “as a tool to tear apart our legal immigration system and adopt the wish list that anti-immigration hardliners have advocated for for years.”

Though Trump and Schumer have both blamed each other for the deadlock, Manchin said Sunday that their “bantering” is nothing more than “New Yorkers talking to each other.”
“I don’t understand that language. But that’s how they talk. Now when Chuck and I talk we talk West Virginian to New York. That’s a little different,” he added.
Todd also asked whether Schumer backed down on the government shutdown because Manchin threatened not to run for re-election. Manchin denied that was true, though he did claim to have told Schumer that the Senate “sucks.”
“If it sucks, why are you running for re-election,” Todd asked.
“Because I think I can make it better. I think I can contribute to bringing people together. I’m not giving up on it. This is a small price to pay for the great country I’ve had the privilege of living in and being an American,” Manchin replied. In a bizarre video posted to Twitter Friday night, Hillary Clinton gave a “shout out” to her fellow feminists, thanking all the “activists bitches for supporting bitches.”
It’s not clear when the video was recorded — all we know is that Clinton was speaking to Huffington Post commentator and Bros4Hillary founder Alex Mohajer at the time, and that it’s enough to, quite possibly, scar most Americans for life.
The video was apparently, a “thank you” to her supporters. A Florida man who prophesied in 2011 that Donald Trump would become president, as well as multiple things that would happen after the businessman took office, says one thing remains to come to pass from the original revelation he felt God gave him: the mainstream media would come to side with Trump.
Mark Taylor, known as the “fireman prophet,” recently recounted to CBN News anchor Wendy Griffith how he wrote down what the Lord showed him minutes after seeing Trump interviewed on television in April 2011. Taylor then shared it with friends, including New York Times bestselling author Mary Colbert, who then shared it with some of the most prominent Christian leaders in the country.
“I didn’t know a lot about Donald, I just knew that he was a very powerful businessman, built this empire, and he was toying with the idea of running for president at the time,” Taylor told Griffith.
“Most people thought it was a joke so I’m listening to him on an interview and all of the sudden I hear the voice of the Lord say, ‘You’re hearing the voice of a president,’” the retired fireman said.
Taylor then went into his office and wrote out what he felt the Holy Spirit was showing him about Trump’s ascendancy to the highest office in the land.
“He was saying basically that America was going to prosper like never before. Israel and America, the ties between the two countries would be stronger than ever before. The dollar would be the strongest it’s ever been, it was very detailed as far as what God was showing me.”
In all, Taylor penned just over 500 words based on the divine download.
When Colbert saw it, she was convinced it was from the Lord.
“As I read this prophecy I saw the Father’s rhythm throughout the whole prophecy. And I recognized the rhythm, or frequency you could call it, because God has His own frequency,” Colbert told Griffith. “I literally collapsed into a chair and said, Donald Trump is going to be our next President?!”
Taylor originally thought the message meant Trump would run for office in 2012, but it was not to be.
“I thought I’d truly missed it,” Taylor said, but then the businessman turned reality television star announced his candidacy in June 2015.
Colbert admits having her doubts during the course of the campaign as Trump’s fortunes appeared to wax and wane.
In June of 2016, she felt the Holy Spirit impress upon her to watch the Belmont Stakes horse race, which ended up strengthening her faith in a Trump victory.
In the race, the horse “Creator” beat rival “Destin” by a nose.
“And the CNN headline said: ‘Creator Wins by a Photo Finish!’ I sat back in my chair and I said, ‘God you’re really going to do this!’” Colbert proclaimed.
Taylor truly believes that Trump is God’s man for the hour, in part to stop an anti-Christian agenda that had been trying to take hold in America.
“The enemy’s timeline has been denied by the Most-High God and it’s through Donald Trump a lot of this is being denied right now,” Taylor said. “And what God is saying right now is ‘No, it’s not time right now because there are many things that God wants to accomplish on the earth right now,’” he said.
Evidence of anti-Christian bias from government could be seen in the Obamacare abortion mandates seeking to override sincerely held beliefs about life and Christian business owners facing steep fines and other criminal penalties for declining to participate in same-sex marriage ceremonies.
Just last week, Trump announced a new division in the Department of Health and Human Services devoted to “conscience and religious freedom.”
“Faith is deeply embedded into the history of our country, the spirit of our founding and the soul of our nation,” the president said. “We will not allow people of faith to be targeted, bullied, or silenced anymore.”
Another recent action by Trump that resonates with evangelicals and fulfills Taylor’s prophecy is his announcement last month that the United States would be moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, thus holding true to a campaign pledge.
“The Spirit says yes, America will once again stand hand in hand with Israel and the two shall be as one, for the ties between Israel and America will be strong than ever and Israel will flourish as never before,” Taylor wrote in 2011. “The Spirit of God says I will protect America and Israel, for this next President will be a man of his word.”
This week, Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Israel and announced before the Kenesset that the U.S. plans to fast track its move of the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, so it takes place by the end of next year.
A Gallup poll conducted in November, before Trump’s announcement of the move of the U.S. embassy, found his approval rating among Israelis at 67 percent. The embassy relocation is popular in the country, which means approval of Trump is likely even higher now.
As Obama prepared to leave office in January 2017, 65 percent of Israelis described him as more pro-Palestinian, while only 12 percent thought he was more pro-Israel. By contrast, 77 percent of Israelis believe Trump is more pro-Israel, according to a poll taken last month.
Just one part of Taylor’s prophecy about Trump has yet to fully become a reality.
“It says the news media would be captivated by him, and they would even begin to agree with him,” Taylor told Griffith. “That’s the only line in the prophecy that hasn’t come to pass yet, so we have to ask ourselves, what’s fixing to happen to make the mainstream media to begin to agree with him?”
Griffith followed up asking what is “fixing to happen?”
“God’s going to clean out the news media,” Taylor said. “God is looking for His people right now, His millionaires and billionaires basically to come in and start investing in these places and buying them out; taking over. God is going to rebuild them and restore them because there is no spirit of truth in them right now — and that’s what God is going to restore.”
Taylor also related that while Trump’s presidency is bringing reformation to what Saint Augustine called the “City of Man,” the “City of God” — the church — will experience a powerful move as well.
“The Army of God will have victory after victory after victory — and I love what Pres. Trump always says…you’ll get sick and tired of winning, if there is such a thing, and that’s the same way for the Army of God it’s going to be victory after victory after victory!” he said.
Taylor and Colbert co-authored the book, “The Trump Prophecies” released last summer, which goes into more detail about the original prophecy and what Taylor sees on the horizon.
Asked whether Trump will win a second term, Taylor responded, “Absolutely.
