Dem Refuses to Concede After Losing Lottery Drawing in Tied Va. Election

The craziest election of 2017 finally reached its procedural conclusion Thursday as the Virginia Board of Elections held a drawing to determine the winner of House District 94. The Republicans won the random drawing, maintaining a narrow one-seat majority in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Initially, Democrat Shelly Simonds was declared the winner by a margin of one vote, but a three-judge panel ruled that a discarded vote for Republican incumbent David Yancey should have been counted, leaving the race tied at 11,608 votes each.

Simonds filed a lawsuit to challenge the uncounted ballot, but the recount court rejected the challenge and upheld the previous ruling.

Fortune smiled on the Republicans, as Yancey won the random lottery drawing, preserving the 51-49 GOP majority in the state legislature. But it might not be over.

On Wednesday, the Democrat Simonds said that “all options are still on the table” since Yancey had declined her offer to make the drawing final.

Reportedly, Simonds is not conceding.

What are these “options?” According to Virginia law, while tied elections are to be determined by lot, “any person who loses the determination by lot may petition for a recount.”

So Simonds could ask for yet another recount in the election that never ends. Stay tuned! (For more from the author of “Dem Refuses to Concede After Losing Lottery Drawing in Tied Va. Election” please click HERE)

WATCH: CNN Promotes Using Drugs on Live TV During New Year’s Eve Celebration

CNN’s Randi Kaye promoted drug use on live TV during CNN’s coverage of the New Year’s Eve Celebrations taking place on Sunday across the United States.

Reporting from Colorado, CNN featured Kaye in two separate segments, once on a party bus that showed people using marijuana and another at a “puff, pass and paint party” where she was seen holding a joint, The Hollywood Reported noted.

Kaye held up the joint to the camera at the “puff, pass and paint party” and said “this is for Andy,” referring to Anderson Cooper’s new co-host, Andy Cohen.

Conservative Pushes the Limits on CNN, Causes Don Lemon to Have a Meltdown, Cut to Commercial Break

There are apparently some topics Don Lemon does not want to talk about.

On Thursday, the CNN news anchor was discussing the FBI investigation into alleged Russian election meddling when one of his guests used a few trigger words that prompted Lemon cut to commercial rather than debate the topic.

In response to back-and-forth regarding allegations that the Trump campaign colluded with Russian officials to tip the election in their favor, conservative commentator and radio host Ben Ferguson pointed out the double standard Democrats enjoy — doing things would have led to indictments if they were Republicans.

“There are a lot of people that feel like that there was special treatment that was given to people that work for Barack Obama and things that they did they would have been indicted for if they were Republicans,” he said.

“For example, when you clearly have top-secret information on a laptop that you have on a server in the basement of your house,” Ferguson continued, according to BizPac Review.

“And then you send those top-secret classified documents to people that aren’t even cleared to see them and then you forward them to your husband, who by the way is in jail by the name of Anthony Weiner.”

The CNN host became visibly agitated at the pivot from GOP baggage to past Democrat controversies.

“Man, what does this have to do with what we’re talking about?” Lemon asked. “The FBI has already investigated that! They’re been a million hearings on it. It’s water under the bridge!”

“No, it’s not!” Ferguson responded. “It’s water under the bridge for you, Don! It’s water under the bridge for you! It’s not for the rest of the people in this country!”

The debate devolved as Lemon shouted, “No! No! No! No! No!” over the dialogue, then cutting to commercial break.

When the program returned, Lemon opened up the floor to Ferguson — with the caveat that he not “hijack” the panel or dare discuss topics not involving Trump controversies.

“Listen, I don’t want to hear about Benghazi, I don’t want to hear about uranium,” Lemon explained, giving specific instruction on what not to talk about. “It has been litigated a million times –“

“Of course, because it doesn’t fit the narrative!” Ferguson interjected.

At this point the entire panel teamed up against the lone conservative, arguing that accusation of Clinton’s wrongdoing have been already been debated at length and do not warrant further discussion. Ferguson, however, stuck to his guns as the conservation went on.

Many in the establishment media continue, on a daily basis, discuss controversies surrounding the Republican White House. Allegations that the president’s campaign team colluded with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign have continued for well over a year.

Robert Mueller was appointed special counselor of the FBI investigation into the Trump presidential campaign in mid-May. His investigation has so far lasted over seven months — with no apparent end in sight. Lawsuit: Fundamentalist Mormon Cult Leaders Forced Underage Girls Into Sexual ‘Rituals’

Warren Jeffs and other Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints cult leaders are facing a lawsuit accusing them of forcing underage girls to engage in “sex rituals” under threat of damnation.

Court documents filed Wednesday allege that Jeffs and others in FLDS forced girls ranging in ages from eight to 14 to engage in sexually explicit acts with them by telling them God would destroy them and their families if they refused, according to KTVX.

The documents allege that church leaders not only actively participated in the sexual abuse of these girls, but also watched and filmed the rituals.

“I have filed this lawsuit in order to hold certain parties accountable for the religious-based systemic sexual abuse of young children.

“Even though Warren Jeffs is in prison, it is my belief and personal experience that these abuses continue,” the 21-year-old female plaintiff, identified only as R.H., told KSTU.

R.H. alleges in her lawsuit that she and others were forced to have a bag put over her head, led to a vehicle by lackeys of the involved church leaders, and driven to an undisclosed location where she and others were forced to participate in various forms of sex with Jeffs and other church leaders.

R.H. said she was given a number by which she was called during these encounters and that Jeffs told her God would destroy her and her family if she told anyone about the encounters.

Jeffs also allegedly told her that if she felt pain during the sexual abuse it was because God was unhappy with her and that if she cried God would punish her.

R.H. said that the abuse continued throughout her childhood in various forms.

Once she turned 14, R.H. alleges that church leaders forced her to be a scribe and witness for the rituals.

She also alleges that she was forced to attend “Ladies Class” once she turned 16 ostensibly to learn “how to be a good wife,” but that during the class Jeffs would take her to a soundproof room where he would sexually abuse her as part of the curriculum.

The documents filed in court also allege that every president of the cult throughout its history has forced underage girls into sex, and that they justified doing so by saying that it was to produce children in order to raise up a priesthood.

The lawsuit accuses Warren Jeffs, his brother Lyle Jeffs, Seth Jeffs, Wendell LeRoy Nielsen, as well as the United Effort Plan Trust, the FLDS church, the Corporation of the President of the FLDS Church, and the Corporation of the Presiding Bishop of the FLDS Church.

R.H. has asked for a trial by jury. (For more from the author of “Lawsuit: Fundamentalist Mormon Cult Leaders Forced Underage Girls Into Sexual ‘Rituals'” please click HERE)

Carjacker Tries Stealing His Dad’s Truck, so 9-Yr-Old Pulls out a Pellet Gun

A nine-year old prevented an alleged carjacker from stealing his dad’s truck outside of a One Stop Express in Kokomo, Indiana.

Larry Larimore was sitting in the back of the car with the engine running while his dad, Kevin Cooksey, made a quick stop to get ibuprofen for his wife, according to Indiana television Station WTHR.

“When I saw my truck door open, I was like, ‘oh my God, what am I going to tell my wife?’” Cooksey said. “I was thinking, I hope my son knew what to do in that situation.”

The carjacker was startled enough to leave Cooksey’s truck, but then hopped into the next car down, a black Tail Blazer with its engine running.

This vehicle belonged to Kyle Sparling who, according to WTHR, was in the store buying Doritos.

“I didn’t know what to think,” Sparling said. “I just kind of ran outside and watched him.”

Cooksey reportedly told Sparling to get in the truck with them so they could go track down the car and the carjacker.

“I wanted to go catch the guy,” Cooksey explained. “It’s just one of those instincts to help out somebody else.”

They called the police and chased the suspect down the road at about 70 mph.

“I thought he was going to come back at me,” Cooksey said. “I thought I was going to have to dodge a moving car with my nine-year-old son in the truck.”

Larimore said the car was “doing donuts, zig zags, almost flipped.”

“I was just glad he didn’t wreck into anybody,” Sparling added. “That was my biggest fear, I think.”

The suspect crashed the car a few miles down the road, and although there was a lot of damage, Sparling was “just relieved when it was all over.”

When asked about his heroic efforts, the young Larimore referenced his grandmother.

“I just like helping people because it’s kind and if my grandma was here, she would have me do the same,” he concluded.

One Twitter user commented on the story.

“Moral of this story: leave a nine year old boy with a pellet gun in your idling vehicle while you run into the store!” the Twitter user wrote. (For more from the author of “Carjacker Tries Stealing His Dad’s Truck, so 9-Yr-Old Pulls out a Pellet Gun” please click HERE)

‘Mob Boss’ Nikki Haley Pushes Reporter to His Breaking Point

Joe Scarborough reacted to U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s speech before the Jerusalem vote last week on Friday’s “Morning Joe.”

Haley reminded the U.N. that the U.S. is one of the largest contributors to the U.N. and that the United States would remember the vote.

“We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations, and we will remember it when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit,” Haley said.

These words sent MSNBC’s Scarborough on a rant about Haley and President Donald Trump, in which he claimed they did not understand that “we don’t give foreign aid and humanitarian aid just to make ourselves look good.”

“If you’re an American, you just don’t want your representatives up there threatening the rest of the world,” Scarborough said, claiming that Haley’s behavior made her sound like a “mob boss.”

He then asserted that the U.S. needs the help of the rest of the U.N. allies for other motions, and that Haley would prevent allies from wanting to do so.

“We’re going to need their help on North Korea. We may need their help again in Syria,” he expanded. “We’re going to need their help in a thousand places.”

In the same session as the Jerusalem vote, the U.N. General Assembly passed U.N. Resolution 2396 to strengthen measures to prevent the threat of terrorists, which was largely written by Haley’s team, according to the Red State. In addition, the U.N. Security Council unanimously passed a U.S.-written resolution with more sanctions on North Korea.

Scarborough’s rant continued, without letting his colleagues get a word in, with a discussion of Trump’s tweets.

“Every response has to be a nuclear response. There is no subtly of thought,” he said.

Scarborough finished his rant and said: “And by the way, there is no diplomat in Nikki Haley. What she did yesterday is an embarrassment to the United States.”

Before the vote, Trump said that he would not let the U.N. make the U.S. pay for the opposition vote, The U.K. Guardian reported.

“Let them vote against us. We’ll save a lot. We don’t care,” he said at a cabinet meeting before the vote. “But this isn’t like it used to be where they could vote against you and then you pay them hundreds of millions of dollars … We’re not going to be taken advantage of any longer.”

On Dec. 24, Haley announced the reduction of $285 million from U.S. Mission to the United Nations’ contribution to the U.N. budget for 2018-2019.

“We will no longer let the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of or remain unchecked,” Haley said in a statement. The timing of her announcement sends a reminder that the U.S. is still upset that the U.N. General Assembly’s 128-9 vote in favor of condemning the resolution of the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem.

Haley said that the U.S. Mission to the United Nations would “look at ways to increase the U.N.’s efficiency while protecting our interests.” (For more from the author of “‘Mob Boss’ Nikki Haley Pushes Reporter to His Breaking Point” please click HERE)

Trump, Sanders Clash on Twitter Over New Tax Law

It was a holiday weekend, but President Donald Trump and rival Bernie Sanders didn’t exactly exchange greeting cards.

Instead, the political foes clashed via Twitter over the nation’s new tax legislation, which Trump signed into law Friday.

“Today, it was my great honor to sign the largest TAX CUTS and reform in the history of our country,” the president tweeted, soon after signing the $1.5 trillion bill . . .

Sanders, a U.S. senator from Vermont, prefaced his weekend tweets by posing a question Thursday.

“Doesn’t it tell us a lot about Republican priorities,” Sanders asked, “when the tax breaks for corporations are permanent, while the tax cuts for working families expire at the end of 8 years?”

New Film Sheds Fresh Light on Ted Kennedy Chappaquiddick Scandal

A trailer released Wednesday has people across the country talking once again about the 1969 scandal involving the late Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy.

On July 18 of that year, Kennedy drove back from a party on Chappaquiddick Island — near Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts — with 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne. But Kennedy accidentally drove off a bridge into a pond and was unable to get Kopechne, who died in the car, out of the water.

After the accident, it took him about 10 hours to report the crash to police. In the aftermath of the incident, many believed that the married Kennedy was having an affair with Kopechne and attempted to cover up his involvement in the accident before telling police what had happened.

There has also been controversy over whether Kopechne’s life could have been saved if Kennedy had immediately reported the incident. Kennedy claimed that he and several friends attempted to save Kopechne’s life, though some have wondered why he did not simply go to the police.

Moreover, though Kennedy said he was driving Kopechne back to where she was staying, it was later revealed that she left her purse and room key at the party, according to the History Channel.

Almost five decades later, a new movie, titled “Chappaquiddick,” is set to tell the story of what happened on that night and how the scandal transpired in the days that followed.

The John Curran-directed film stars Jason Clarke as Ted Kennedy and Kate Mara as Kopechne. Bruce Dern, meanwhile, plays Joe Kennedy, the patriarch of the famous family and Ted’s father.

“Chappaquiddick” is set to be released on April 6 of 2018, according to People magazine. But the trailer, released Wednesday, gives potential viewers an idea of what to expect.

“Oh my God, what have I done,” Kennedy can be heard saying in the trailer, while adding in another scene, “It was an accident.”

The full trailer can be seen below:

As noted by Townhall, “if the trailer is any indication, the filmmakers did not go easy on Ted Kennedy at all, and it appears to brutally skewer the members of the Kennedy family.”

Kennedy eventually pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. His driver’s license was suspended for a year and he also got a two-month suspended prison sentence.

But though he did not receive any serious legal punishment for the incident, questions remained regarding what really happened that night.

As a result, Kennedy, who had once been considered a future contender for the presidency, spent the remainder of his career in the Senate.

“Chappaquiddick” has received mixed reviews from those who have seen it, as the film currently holds a 64 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Writing for Variety, Owen Gleiberman called the movie “meticulous docudrama” that “achieves what too few American political dramas do: a reckoning.”

But Hollywood Reporter reviewer Todd McCarthy was less impressed, noting that the film is “a detailed but less than gripping account of a dicey Kennedy family incident.” (For more from the author of “New Film Sheds Fresh Light on Ted Kennedy Chappaquiddick Scandal” please click HERE)

Trump: ‘People Are Proud to Be Saying Merry Christmas Again’

By Fox News. When he ran for the White House in 2016, Donald Trump promised to make America great again.

Late Sunday night, on what appeared to be a busy Christmas Eve at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, the president took a bow for what he views as his successful role in making Christmas merry again.

“People are proud to be saying Merry Christmas again,” the president tweeted shortly before 10 p.m. EST. “I am proud to have led the charge against the assault of our cherished and beautiful phrase. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!”

Sunday’s tweet seemed as if the president were claiming “mission accomplished” following some comments he made in October at the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit in Washington.

“We’re getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people don’t talk about anymore. They don’t use the word Christmas because it’s not politically correct,” the president said to cheers. “You go to department stores and they’ll say ‘Happy New Year,’ or they’ll say other things and it’ll be red, they’ll have it painted.”

Franklin Graham: ‘I’m Excited’ That Trump Knows ‘Christmas Is All About Christ’

By Fox News Insider. Rev. Franklin Graham reacted to President Trump’s emphasis on the importance of mentioning Christmas during the holiday season.

“The only thing missing are the words ‘Merry Christmas’,” Trump said in a speech on December 8. “They’re using those words again.”

Graham said it is important that Trump and others spread the word that “Christmas is really about the birth of Jesus Christ, and that’s what we’re all celebrating.”

“Christmas is all about Christ,” Graham said. “I’m so excited that the president isn’t afraid to mention the name of Jesus Christ.” (Read more from “Franklin Graham: ‘I’m Excited’ That Trump Knows ‘Christmas Is All About Christ’ HERE)

Huckabee Reveals His Christmas ‘Naughty and Nice’ Lists

To get into the Christmas spirit, Mike Huckabee offered his “naughty and nice” list for 2017.

The former Arkansas governor said 2017 has been quite eventful.

Huckabee said his “naughty list” is led by several federal agents who have come under scrutiny for their alleged actions in regard to the Clinton email probe and special investigation into President Trump.

Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Agent Peter Strzok and Department of Justice employee Bruce Ohr led Huckabee’s naughty list.

McCabe is suspected of being the “Andy” mentioned among the thousands of texts between Strzok and his mistress – also a federal employee – in which the two discuss an “insurance policy” against Trump being elected. (Read more from “Huckabee Reveals His Christmas ‘Naughty and Nice’ Lists” HERE)
