Report: Radio Shack to Sell Customers’ Personal Information in Bankruptcy Sale [+video]

Radio ShackWhen you go shopping, you probably think stores will keep your personal information safe and secure.
But now, a report says Radio Shack is ready to auction off customer information as part of its bankruptcy sale.

As CBS2’s Dick Brennan reported, the report says Radio Shack is ready to sell information they have on some 117 million customers, including names, addresses, phone numbers and other details on purchases.

This despite the Radio Shack privacy policy, which says “We will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone at any time.”

And some consumer experts say what Radio Shack is doing is nothing new.

“People are looking at Radio Shack now and they are gonna vilify Radio Shack,” said consumer expert Paul Viollis. “But at the end of the day, Radio Shack isn’t doing anything all other major corporations haven’t been doing for many years.” (Read more from “Report: Radio Shack to Sell Customers’ Personal Information in Bankruptcy Sale [+video]” HERE)

Indiana Governor to Declare Disaster for County Hit by HIV Outbreak [+video]

nIndiana Governor Mike Pence said on Wednesday he will declare a public health disaster in a small southern Indiana county that has seen a drastic increase in HIV cases tied to intravenous prescription drug abuse since December.

“This is a public health emergency,” Pence said of the declaration for rural Scott County, located about 35 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky. “Now I’m evaluating all of the issues and all of the tools that may be available to local health officials in light of a public health emergency.”

Pence spoke to reporters after meeting with county officials and representatives from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.

Since December, Scott County has had 72 confirmed HIV cases and seven preliminary ones. Officials fear potentially up to 100 cases could be identified.

‘You Live in Fantasy Land’: Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck Spar Over Future of Republican Party [+video]

Mr BeckBy Oliver Darcy. Glenn Beck joined Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on his program Tuesday evening to discuss comments he recently made about leaving the Republican Party.

“I don’t believe you’re leaving the Republican Party because you like Ted Cruz … I think he’s running as a Republican, Beck. Did anybody break that to you?” O’Reilly asked TheBlaze founder.

Beck offered a rebuttal, saying he would financially support Cruz, but was done with the Republican Party.

“The party right now is attacking people like Ted Cruz,” Beck said. “There are more slings and arrows coming from the Republican Party against Ted Cruz than there is outside the Republican Party.”

Glenn Beck Says He’s Leaving the Republican Party

By Rick Moran. Talk show host and pundit Glenn Beck announced yesterday that he was leaving the Republican party. Beck cited GOP inaction on repealing Obamacare and failing to halt the president’s immigration executive orders.

The Hill:

“I’ve made my decision — I’m out,” Beck said Wednesday on “The Glenn Beck Program,” his broadcast on TheBlaze.com. “I’m out of the Republican Party. I am not a Republican. I will not give a dime to the Republican Party. I’m out.”

The host said Republicans lost him with their inaction on both ObamaCare and illegal immigration.

Bombshell Police Video Shows Secret Service SUV Hit White House Security Barricade as Bomb Threat Played out Just a Few Feet Away

whPolice surveillance video shown publicly for the first time Tuesday shows Secret Service agents in their government vehicle driving through the secured area and nudging a temporary barrier at low speed as it drove toward a checkpoint.

The incident occurred as on-duty officers and agents investigated a suspicious package thrown near the White House on March 4 – and an accompanying threat that it contained a bomb.

The House Oversight Committee showed the video from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department during a hearing on Capitol Hill.

Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy was testifying for the third time about the incident, in which two senior agents are accused of drinking before driving into the White House complex and pushing the barrier with the SUV’s bumper . . .

Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the committee’s chairman, angrily recounted a series of events including an 11-minutes stretch of time the Secret Service let the suspicious package lay near the White House before evacuating the area. Woman Arrested for Throwing Molotov Cocktail at Pro-Lifers In Front of Planned Parenthood

cocktailA woman who police say threw a Molotov cocktail at a group of women praying in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic on Monday evening, has been charged with aggravated assault. Austin police and members of the bomb squad responded to E. Ben White Boulevard after receiving a call shortly after 6 p.m.

According to the executive director of Central Texas Coalition for Life, the group was able to record part of the suspect’s license plate number before she drove away, which led police to 52-year-old Melanie Toney. Toney was pulled over less than three miles away from the clinic.

“This is definitely the first time that something of this nature has been thrown at us that’s actually threatened and put people in danger, so it’s obviously very alarming,” said Heather Gardner, executive director of Central Texas Coalition for Life. She said people have thrown objects at them before, but nothing like this.

Ruth Allwein is a volunteer of the pro-life campaign called 40 Days For Life, which hosts peaceful protests by praying in front of an abortion clinic, and was outside the Planned Parenthood when the incident took place.

“It had a lit wick, so my first instinct was to back away, then I wasn’t sure what to do,” said Allwein. “I ended up coming over and stamping on it, so it was a little bit nerve-racking. Ted Cruz Announces for President, Already Naysayers Demand Birth Certificate Because “He’s Canadian”

Ted CruBy Joshua M. Patton. In 2013 there was a somewhat-funny story about how Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz discovered he was a Canadian citizen and then immediately renounced his Canadian citizenship, because: ‘Murica.

He has since released his birth certificate, perhaps hoping to stave off the citizenship questions orbiting his nascent campaign for President.

Ted Cruz’s mother was an American which makes Ted Cruz an American, meaning he can run for President all he likes. However, because politics are funny like that, Cruz finds himself in the same boat as President Obama, in that some people think he’s not eligible to be President*.

As you can see in the video above, the ladies of The View had a little fun at Cruz’s expense. Rosie Perez seemed to think it would be “a huge issue” because of the birther movement. Since his likely voters probably consist of those who still think President Obama is a Kenyan-born secret-Muslim, it is unclear if this reverse-birtherism is actually a boon for his campaign or one of his opponents. Ted Cruz Enlists Christians for White House Bid

By Gary Robertson/Thomson. Casting himself as the leader of a grassroots army, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz made an explicit appeal to Christian conservatives on Monday as he became the first major figure to jump into the 2016 U.S. presidential race.

Cruz’s unyielding tactics in Washington have made him a hero to many on the Tea Party right and a thorn in the side of the Republican establishment. Seeking to break into the front ranks of candidates, Cruz solicited the support of born-again Christians who play a major role in states with early nominating contests.

Speaking at Liberty University, a Christian school founded by televangelist Jerry Falwell, Cruz discussed his Baptist faith in personal terms and urged religious conservatives who have sat out recent elections to get off the sidelines.

Parents Pull Child from School over Transgender Bathroom Choice [+video]

transgenderBy Glen Beeby. Two Boise parents said they pulled their student from school at South Junior High after another student, who is transgender, was allowed to use the girls bathroom.

Pauline Adams and Jacob Smith were upset when they found out from their daughter last week that a transgender student was allowed to choose the bathroom [the boy dressing as a girl] preferred.

The student was born a boy, but identifies and dresses as a girl.

Smith said he doesn’t feel it’s appropriate for kids to be able to choose at that age.

Woman Raised by Lesbian Couple: ‘I Ached Every Day for a Dad’

Heather Barwick, who was raised by her mother and her mother’s lesbian partner, wrote in an essay this week that same-sex “marriage” is not the same as normal marriage between a man and a woman, that the traditional family is best, and that while growing up she “ached every day for a dad.”


Barwick, who is 31 now, married, and has four children, said that “same-sex marriage and parenting withholds either a mother or father from a child while telling him or her that it doesn’t matter. That it’s all the same. But it’s not.”

“A lot of us, a lot of your kids, are hurting,” wrote Barwick in her essay for The Federalist website. “My father’s absence created a huge hole in me, and I ached every day for a dad. I loved my mom’s partner, but another mom could never have replaced the father I lost.”

“I grew up surrounded by women who said they didn’t need or want a man,” said Barwick. “Yet, as a little girl, I so desperately wanted a daddy. It is a strange and confusing thing to walk around with this deep-down unquenchable ache for a father, for a man, in a community that says that men are unnecessary.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Economist: Half of Ferguson’s Young Black Men Are ‘Missing’ [+video]

black signNearly 50 percent of the young black men in Ferguson, Missouri have gone “missing” from their communities thanks to prison, premature death, and other social dysfunctions, according to an analysis by economist Stephen Bronars for Forbes.

Ferguson is currently being vilified after a federal report slammed the city’s police department for violating blacks’ civil rights and employing only four black officers on a force of more than 50. Now, however, an economist has published a stark analysis of the demographics in Ferguson, revealing that one reason the town infamous for Michael Brown’s death has so few black police is that half of its young men have disappeared from society altogether.

According to Ferguson’s federal census data, Bronars notes, there are 1,182 black women in Ferguson between the ages of 25 and 34. In comparison, however, there are only 577 black men within the same age range. The gap is smaller but still vast in other age ranges; black men are about 40 percent below the numbers they should have for the 20-24 and 35-54 age ranges.

There are peripheral factors, Bronars says, that play a small role in creating the gap. Black men in the military aren’t counted in Ferguson’s census data, and a marginally higher number of them have died for one reason or another.

The biggest causes of the disappearing black men are representative of crippling social dysfunctions in Ferguson. Hundreds of men from the city are in prison, while others fall through the cracks of census data due to problems like homelessness and crippling substance abuse. Fox News host and former White House press secretary Dana Perino said on “The Kelly File” that the Obama administration is signaling to terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah that it is “open season on Israel” with its comments that their support for the Jewish nation at the United Nations was in jeopardy.

“There was [a] troubling report tonight, I think out of a senior administration official,” Perino said, “someone floating a little bit of a trial balloon out there to say there might be some problems now that the United States has with Israel, and that might actually leak into conversations at the United Nations Security Council, in which Europe has not been supportive of Israel.”

‘A Historic Mistake’: Rubio Rips Obama Over Treatment Of Israel, Netanyahu


By Al Weaver. In a fiery floor speech Thursday, Sen. Marco Rubio ripped the Obama administration for its treatment of Israel in the wake of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reelection victory Tuesday.

In his speech, Rubio, a potential 2016 GOP candidate, said President Barack Obama has made a “historic and tragic mistake” by standing against the Israelis while actively “embolden[ing] their enemies.” The Florida Senator’s speech also comes in the midst of peace talks between the U.S. and Iran, which Netanyahu has strongly ridiculed.

Confirmed: Iran Endorses Nuclear EMP Attack on United States [+video]

By Paul Bedard. Suspected for years of plotting to dismantle the U.S. electric grid, American officials have confirmed that Iranian military brass have endorsed a nuclear electromagnetic pulse explosion that would attack the country’s power system.

American defense experts made the discovery while translating a secret Iranian military handbook, raising new concerns about Tehran’s recent nuclear talks with the administration.

The issue of a nuclear EMP attack was raised in the final hours of this week’s elections in Israel when U.S. authority Peter Vincent Pry penned a column for Arutz Sheva warning of Iran’s threat to free nations.

“Iranian military documents describe such a scenario — including a recently translated Iranian military textbook that endorses nuclear EMP attack against the United States,” he wrote.

EMP, Extremely Dangerous

By Dan Eden. As usual, viewzone gave me a writing assignment about something of which I knew very little — this time it was something called the electromagnetic pulse, or “EMP” weapon. As usual, what I learned from my research scared the hell out of me.


When I first sat down to write this story, America had no real enemy capable of using an EMP weapon. That’s a good thing because, as you will learn, this is far more dangerous and potentially more lethal than a nuclear bomb. We have known that the Russians have EMP weapons because of their published (an sometimes not) research with the technology. And now, of course, we can include China . . .

A declassified intelligence report, obtained by the private National Security Archive, provides details on China’s EMP weapons and plans for their use. Annual Pentagon reports on China’s military in the past made only passing references to the arms. (Read more from this story HERE)
