Watch: Daycare Employee Caught Kicking Baby in the Head

By Claire McNeill. After kicking a toddler in the head in an apparent effort to wake her up, a child care employee at Kids Stop-N-Play day care in Holiday was arrested and charged with child abuse, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Sixteen-month-old Lillian Roan was dotted with bruises when her mother picked her up from the day care Saturday afternoon: one underneath her eye, three on her forehead, and a red, bald patch created when the worker kicked her daughter in the head, Lillian’s mother said.

Later that day, Pasco sheriff’s deputies arrested Linda K. Klemm, 48, of Tarpon Springs and charged her with child abuse. She was released on $5,000 bail Sunday. (Read more from “Daycare Employee Caught Kicking Baby in the Head” HERE)

New Gerber Baby Announced

By Jennifer Van Laar. Gerber has announced the winner of the 2014 Gerber “Be Our Baby” Contest, and watch out – she’s so adorable that watching the video of her “interview” on the Today show could leave you with a case of baby fever.

Seven-month-old baby Grace from East Petersburg, Pennsylvania, beat out 180,000 competitors to win this year’s contest. Her prizes include a year of free Gerber food, $50,000, and the opportunity to appear as the 2015 Gerber spokesbaby.

This is the fifth year Gerber has held the “Be Our Baby” contest. It’s not all about looks, though, say Gerber spokespeople. (Read more from this story HERE)

Patriots QB on “Deflation-Gate”: I’m Not a Cheater (+video)

Bill Belichick knows nothing. Tom Brady knows nothing. So if neither the New England Patriots’ head coach nor their star quarterback called the play, then exactly who deflated the game balls in the AFC championship game that put their team in the Super Bowl?

In separate news conferences called seven hours apart to address the spiraling scandal about tampering with game balls, Belichick told reporters only Brady could talk about his “personal preferences on footballs,” and Brady said it was all a mystery to him.

“I didn’t alter the ball in any way,” said Brady, who acknowledged joking in a video made several years ago about preferring deflated footballs, presumably because they are easier to grip, throw and catch. He explained that what he meant was that he liked his pigskin inflated to 12.5 pounds per square inch, the precise bottom of the NFL range that extends up to 13.5 pounds. Eleven of the 12 game balls managed by the Patriots in Sunday’s 45-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts were determined by NFL investigators to be illegally below the threshold, a situation that appears well beyond the realm of coincidence.

“I have no knowledge of anything,” said Brady, clad in a gray sweatshirt and team ski hat. “I have no knowledge of wrongdoing. I have no problem saying that – as far as I know.”

Watch What a Walmart Shopper Stupidly Does When He Sees a Man Carrying a Gun

When 62-year-old Clarence Daniels walked into a Florida Walmart on Tuesday, he couldn’t have suspected that he would barely make it past the door.

Walmart video surveillance shows Daniels going into the store, but before he can get much further than the entrance, someone comes up from behind and throws him to the ground. Believing he’s definitely apprehended a bad guy, the man, who Fox 13 identified as Michael Foster, then restrains Daniels even more.

As Daniels is being held down, a few shoppers who had assumed that Foster is perhaps a hero in the making decide to help him out with the pending citizen’s arrest. They also take away Daniel’s holstered firearm that was under his shirt. Then, Foster calls 911.

In a turn of events that Foster probably didn’t expect, the authorities arrive and it’s not Daniels they’re putting in the back of the squad car – it’s him. (Read more about the Walmart shopper HERE)

Machine Gun Granny Ready to Fight Russian Backed Rebels (+video)

This Ukrainian grandma packs a punch!

Newly trained Kateryna Bilyk, 68, said she decided to take up arms after seeing the horrific carnage left behind when Russian-backed separatists clashed with pro-Ukraine fighters, Central European News reported.

“I wanted to set an example to show young people that no matter how old you are, you can make a difference, and that was why I decided to sign up,” said the mother of three and grandmother of five.

“I have lived here all my life and we survived the Nazi occupation and the Soviets, and I believe in standing up for what’s right and making sure we never see occupation again,” said Bilyk, of Zhidaev.

Nataliya Ishenko, an army spokeswoman, said the assault rifle-wielding grandma had received the same training as other young recruits and passed all the marksmanship tests. (Read more about the Ukraine grandma who is ready to fight Russian rebels HERE)

Watch: A Small School in Kansas Makes a Big Difference in a Teenage Girl’s Life

As she smiled broadly, blue and gold pom poms clutched in her hands, it is hard to believe this is an experience Council Grove High School freshman Kolbie Davis nearly didn’t have.

Her mom, Jeannette, says she and her husband, Jamie, considered holding their 15-year-old daughter out of high school. Kolbie was born with congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a condition which cut off oxygen to her brain. It caused permanent damage and developmental delays. Jeannette feared Kolbie wouldn’t be able to handle the high school environment.

“I was very concerned for her being in the hallway with a lot of kids and all the noise and the interaction between teenagers,” Jeannette said.

While Jeannette, Jamie and Kolbie’s eight-year-old brother Will, knew how loving and positive Kolbie could be, they worried how she would do around other teenagers. Plus, Jeannette says, Kolbie would not speak very much and was often frightened or confused by loud noise or a lot of activity.

Still, they took a chance. One day, the school’s cheerleading coach filled in as Kolbie’s para and brought her to practice. Kolbie was immediately hooked, saying she loves everything about cheerleading. (Read more on how the small school in Kansas makes a big difference HERE)

Elderly Man Finds Son After Discovering Hidden Letter

An elderly Grand Rapids man has finally met his son.

The man had tried having kids all his life, but thought it was a life goal he never accomplished.

A letter was sent by the child’s mother more than 50 years ago that told him of his then 5-year-old son. That man is now 61-years-old.

It was a message believed to have been hidden by his wife for decades.

Tony Trapani, 81, said that after his wife passed away, he was cleaning out one of her old filing cabinets when he came across the letter. (Read more about the man who found his son after he finds a hidden letter HERE)

Alabama Smacks Down Sharia Law (+video)

By The Political Insider. The people from the great state of Alabama took a huge proactive step in the last election to protect themselves from creeping Sharia. As more followers of Islam move to America, the threat has become real, but Alabama just said, “ENOUGH!”

Amendment One, an amendment to the state constitution that prohibits foreign law being used to decide cases in Alabama courts, has passed easily and will be added to the Alabama Constitution.

Eric Johnston, the Birmingham attorney who drafted the amendment, felt vindicated after it was described as an attack on Muslims.

“I put in about three years of work on it,” Johnston said, after AP and Politico declared that the amendment passed. The amendment passed by a wide margin of about 72 percent to 28 percent with 96 percent of precincts counted . . .

Certain groups have called this amendment racist. But the problem is, so much of Islam’s teachings are incompatible with civilized society. Christian Nurse Tries to Help Muslim Co-Worker, Gets 9 Month Work Suspension

By Conservative Tribune. Victoria Wasteney, a 37-year-old nurse, said a prayer for her co-worker. What happened next is a saga you may not believe – unless, of course, you’ve paid attention to the news.

The senior occupational therapist at an East London mental hospital said the prayer in the name of a Muslim co-worker who was going through personal difficulties. The simple prayer earned her a nine-month suspension from her job and has become the subject of a lawsuit.

The co-worker in question is named Enya Nawaz. According to Wasteney, the two were friends, and had spent significant time talking about the similarities between Christianity and Islam . . .

“God, I trust You will bring peace and You will bring healing,” she said, remembering the content of the prayer. “It was a natural and open thing for me to do and she didn’t object in any way.”

That changed once Nawaz was, according to Wasteney, pressured into filing a claim against her by other Muslims. (Read more from this story HERE)

Jessica was keeping a big secret from her husband, Michael; she was pregnant and hadn’t told him yet. She wanted to make the announcement special so she brought him to a photo booth to take some pictures. As they start smiling for the camera, she held up a tiny newborn hat that read, “baby”.

Now her video of the surprise has received over 10 million views on YouTube and has been shared by the Huffington Post, CNN, USA Today and many other news networks.

According to the expectant Minnesota couple, photo booths are their “thing.” Jessica said, “On our first date – at Disneyland! – we got our picture taken in a photo booth. When we got engaged, we popped into a photo booth. At our wedding, we had rented a photo booth for our guests to enjoy.” However, photo booths aren’t just for special occasions. Teenager Accused of Killing, Raping Teacher; Court Video Shows Shooting

By WCVB. A teenager accused of killing his high school math teacher told police he knocked her out with a “karate chop” before slicing her neck two times with a box cutter, a police detective said Friday in a pre-trial hearing.

But Philip Chism, now 15, denied raping the popular teacher, Colleen Ritzer, before killing her on Oct. 22, 2013, Danvers Det. Sgt. Phil Tansey said.

Tansey said Chism also helped investigators recover Ritzer’s body by showing on a map where he dumped it in the woods behind the school.

The detective’s statements come as a judge is considering a request by Chism’s lawyers to have his confession and other evidence seized from him the night he was detained tossed out as evidence before trial.

Teenage ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ Arrested

By Emily Shapiro. The alleged crime spree of two runaway Kentucky teenagers stretched across the South before they were found early this morning . . .

According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, “the process has begun” to extradite both teens “back to Kentucky to answer for multiple felony charges.”

The teens may also face charges in South Carolina. Chief Shaffer said Manning police have “minor” forgery charges against the teens for allegedly passing a forged check, but “back home is the best place for these teens to be.”

Shaffer said Friday, “We could pursue criminal charges against them, we just have to continue to wait. And once they’re found then we can look at the circumstances and decide if that would be something we’d want to pursue.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Abu Sa’ad al-Dāghistāni has died in Kobane, ISIS fighters on Twitter are claiming.

Al-Dāghistāni – who is described variously as a fighter and an ISIS intelligence commander – featured in what’s believed to be ISIS’ last video, which claimed to show a young boy executing two Russian spies in the Islamic State. ISIS Leader Orders All Failed Fighters Executed

By Nadiah Sarsour. Some 56 members of ISIS learned their so-called “caliph” doesn’t tolerate losing in battle, according to reports which said Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had them executed after they survived a rout by Kurdish fighters.

Saed Mimousini, media spokesperson for the Kurdish Democratic Party, told Alsumaria news agency that Al-Baghdadi’s harsh decision came following their defeat at the hands of Peshmerga fighters in Kobar, south of the Kurdish capital Erbil.

“ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi executed 56 of his men after their defeat at the hands of the Peshmerga forces in the Cowir area south of Erbilm,” he said.

“Executions took place in the Al-Namrood, east Mosul,” he added, claiming that the “battles between ISIS and the Peshmerga south of Erbil killed 300 members of the Islamic State and injured nearly 102 others.” (Read more from this story HERE)
