‘Migrant President’: Mexico Sounds Alarm Over Biden Policy; House to Debate Immigration Reform as GOP BLASTS Biden Over Border Crisis
By WND. Some Democratic lawmakers, particularly in border districts, have criticized Joe Biden’s immigration policies, but now concern is coming from south of the frontier.
Reuters reports Mexican leaders, including left-wing president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, fear the Biden administration is stoking illegal immigration and creating business for organized crime.
Central American nations, said Lopez Obrador, “see Biden as the migrant president, and so many feel they’re going to reach the United States.”
“We need to work together to regulate the flow, because this business can’t be tackled from one day to the next, the Mexican presidentsaid the day after his March 1 virtual meeting with Biden.
Reuters reported internal assessments, based on testimonies and intelligence gathering, state that amid U.S. measures that “incentivize migration,” Mexican gangs are diversifying methods of smuggling and winning clients. House to Debate Immigration Reform as GOP Blasts Biden Over Border Crisis
By New York Post. The House of Representatives will debate two bills aimed at reforming the US immigration system next week, as Republican leaders slam President Biden for allowing the crisis at the southern border to spiral out of control. . .
Next week, the House will debate two bills aimed at fixing “our broken immigration system,” according to a schedule released Thursday by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.).
One, the American Dream and Promise Act, would establish a path to citizenship for millions of young illegal immigrants, including those afforded temporary protected status dubbed “Dreamers.” . . .
The attempts at reform come as GOP leaders are blasting Biden for his failure to address the growing humanitarian and security crisis at the border.
