‘Tool to Enforce Orwellian Rules’: 80 House Republicans Help Pass Bill to Fund Federal Vaccination Database

Eighty House Republicans voted with Democrats on Tuesday to pass the Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act, which if passed by the Senate and signed into law would fund a federal vaccination database.

According to the bill, also called H. R. 550, the government would provide $400 million in taxpayer dollars to fund “immunization system data modernization and expansion,” a system otherwise defined as “a confidential, population-based, computerized database that records immunization doses administered by any health care provider to persons within the geographic area covered by that database.”

The text specifically outlines an expansion of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Public Health Department capabilities and the ability for state and local health departments, as well as public and private health care providers, to share health data with the federal government.

In a statement, the bill’s main sponsor, Democrat Rep. Ann Kuster (NH), said the system would be used to “remind patients when they are due for a recommended vaccine” and identify areas with low vaccination rates to “ensure equitable distribution of vaccines.” Notably, the bill has four Republican co-sponsors: Reps. Larry Bucshon (R-IN), James Baird (R-IN), David McKinley (R-WV), and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). Not one Democrat voted in opposition to the bill.

Rep. Professor Fired After He Accidentally Called Two Black Students by Wrong Name

A professor at Fordham University, a private Jesuit college in New York City, abruptly lost his job after an incident in which he accidentally called two black students by the wrong name. . .

While teaching his Composition II class on Sept. 24, Christopher Trogan, a now-former English lecturer at the school, accidentally called two students by the wrong name. The Fordham Observer characterized the incident as a “name mix-up” in which Trogan became briefly “confused.”

The students responded to the incident by emailing Trogan after class, telling him they were offended that he confused their names, and alleging that he did so because they are black.

Trogan, however, did not hide from his mistake. He sent his entire Composition II class an email apologizing for the “innocent mistake.” He said had suffered a “confused brain” because the two students whose names he confused walked into his class late at the same time he was reading the work of another student.

“The offended student assumed my mistake was because I confused that student with another Black student,” Trogan’s email said. “I have done my best to validate and reassure the offended student that I made a simple, human, error. By New York Post. A woman who says she was sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein testified on Tuesday that Ghislaine Maxwell helped lure her into his orbit when she was just 14 and described how the depraved duo were “giggling” when they first molested her together.

The alleged victim, an actress identified by the pseudonym “Jane” in court, said she was at Epstein’s Palm Beach, Florida, mansion in 1994 when the pedophile and his accused madam led her upstairs to his bedroom, moved her over to the bed and “took their clothes off.”

“They started to sort of like fondle each other,” she said, adding that they were “casually giggling” as she stood there.

“He asked me to take my top off,” the witness continued. “Then there were hands everywhere and Jeffrey proceeded to masturbate again. And Ghislaine was like rubbing on him, kissing on him.”

Epstein’s Former Pilot Testifies Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Prince Andrew Flew Aboard Epstein’s Private Plane

By CNN. Jeffrey Epstein’s former pilot testified in Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial Tuesday that a who’s who of powerful men, including former Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, flew aboard Epstein’s private plane.

The pilot, Larry Visoski, said he would typically be given notice if Clinton or high-profile passengers like him would be flying.

He recalled renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman flew to Michigan with Epstein for the Interlochen Center for the Arts summer camp. He said he remembered Prince Andrew, Maine Sen. George Mitchell, Ohio Sen. John Glenn and actor Kevin Spacey on flights.

He also said he’d fly Epstein to Columbus, Ohio, where Epstein also had property, to see billionaire businessman Les Wexner. Epstein referred to Wexner as his client but Visoski said he believed them to be friends as well. Ghislaine Maxwell Was Part of Epstein Orgies, Says First Accuser in Trial

By Fox News. An alleged victim of Ghislaine Maxwell took the stand this Tuesday to say that Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused her several times when she was as young as 14 years old and that some of the times one or more women participated.

Questioned about who took part more frequently, “Jane” answered: “Ghislaine Maxwell,” adding that the defendant would also touch her at times, “mainly” her “breasts.” . . .

As a survivor of sexual assault, the woman is testifying under the pseudonym “Jane.” She is one of the “minor victims” in the government’s case and the first of four women to take the stand. “Jane” is a former model, singer and soap opera actress.

“Jane” recalled meeting Maxwell and Epstein in 1994 at the age of 14 at Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, a prestigious arts academy in Michigan. The accuser said her father had recently died from leukemia and that afterwards, the family went into bankruptcy. The pair approached her at camp and realized that she also lived in Palm Beach, Florida. They asked for her mother’s phone number and later would invite them both to Epstein’s Palm Beach house.

The victim started interacting with the pair by herself on several occasions at Epstein’s residences in Florida, New Mexico and New York throughout several years, including when the victim was between 14 and 16 years old. Prosecutor Tells Jury Ghislaine Maxwell Groomed Minors for Epstein’s Sexual Abuse

By NBC News. The much-anticipated trial of Ghislaine Maxwell got underway Monday in New York City with a prosecutor and defense attorney painting conflicting portraits of the accused enabler of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Assistant United States Attorney Lara Pomerantz, who gave the federal prosecutors’ opening statement, said Maxwell identified and targeted vulnerable young women and then “served them up” to Epstein.

“She put them at ease and made them feel safe, all so that they could be sexually abused by a middle-aged man,” Pomerantz said. “There were times when she was in the room when it happened.”

Maxwell was no mere Epstein employee, Pomerantz said. She was “the lady of the house” who made sure that what happened behind closed doors stayed behind closed doors. And she and Epstein “had a playbook.”

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Lawyer Reveals Defense Strategy: The Bible, ‘Manipulated’ Victims and a ‘Scapegoat’

By New York Post. Ghislaine Maxwell’s defense attorneys on Monday portrayed her as a scapegoat being accused because of “the bad behavior of men,” — one in particular — since prosecutors never had a chance to put late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on trial.

Her lawyer, Bobbi Sternheim, invoked the Bible at the start of her opening statement, arguing that women have been condemned for crimes committed by men since the beginning of time.

“Ever since Eve was accused of tempting Adam with the apple,” said Sternheim. “Women have been blamed for the bad behavior of men.”

“Ghislaine is on trial here and you heard about the conduct of Jeffrey Epstein. She is filling that hole. And filling an empty chair,” said Sternheim, adding that her client was a “convenient stand-in” for the dead sex offender.

Sternheim also took aim at the four alleged victims in the case, claiming they had been taken advantage of by aggressive civil defense attorneys and, in some cases, are searching for a payday. Democrat Governor Loses Control of Virus, US Military Stepping in as Situation Grows ‘Dire’

The Biden administration is sending 44 medical personnel from the U.S. military to support two hospital systems in the state of Michigan, state officials said Wednesday.

The U.S. Department of Defense will send two medical teams, each comprising 22 doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists, who are expected to arrive next week, according to a Michigan Department of Health and Human Services news release.

The teams will assist health care workers at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn and Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids in dealing with the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the state, as hospitals across Michigan suffer from a lack of enough emergency rooms and staff shortages. Look Who Tops Dems’ Presidential Wish List for 2024

A new survey found that the two most popular Democrats ahead of the 2024 presidential election should Joe Biden decide not to run, or be unable to run, are both black women.

The Hill-HarrisX poll found Vice President Kamala Harris and former first lady Michelle Obama are the leading Democratic candidates for 2024.

The survey had Harris leading a handful of Democratic candidates with 13% of support, followed by Mrs. Obama who had 10%.

Other candidates listed in the poll include several Democrats who previously ran for president in 2020.

Candidates who received 5 percent or less include Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Cory Booker, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and businessman Andrew Yang, according to the survey. Trump Says Top US General Should Be ‘Tried for Treason’

Former President Donald Trump put out a statement on Friday saying that Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, should be “tried for treason” — a crime punishable by death — for taking steps to prevent a war with China during the Trump presidency.

In his lengthy statement, Trump skewered the contents of the book “Peril” by The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward and Robert Costa and called Milley “one of the dumber generals in the military.”

“Does anybody really believe that longtime Con Man Bob Woodward, and his lightweight lapdog assistant Robert Costa, are implying in their book of fiction that I was planning to go to war with China, but that one of the dumber generals in the military called the Chinese to tell them that he will inform them if this action proceeds further,” the statement said. “Milley may have called, but if so, he should be tried for treason.”

“I never had even a thought of going to war with China, other than the war I was winning, which was on TRADE,” Trump added.

Whoopi Goldberg Claims Kyle Rittenhouse Is a Murderer, Trolls Say She’ll Lose Lawsuit

The host of ABC’s show ‘The View’, Whoopi Goldberg, voiced her opinion on how she feels about Kyle Rittenhouse getting cleared of all charges last week. On Friday, the jury passed its final verdict and cleared Rittenhouse of the 2020 shooting deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber.

Kyle Rittenhouse argued that he acted in self-defense and his actions should not be considered murder. A third man was also injured during the shooting by Kyle. A few days after the liberal media was fuming over the verdict, Goldberg also made a comment. Even though in the evidence, Anthony was seen attacking Kyle with a skateboard before being shot, Goldberg claims that he wasn’t doing anything.

She further added, “He saw someone get shot. He thought he was doing the right thing. So, even- even all the excuses in the world do not change the fact that three people got shot. Two people were murdered. To me it’s murder. I’m sorry.” . . .

A Twitter user reacted and said, “Whoopi Goldberg is going to have to sign a big, fat cheque to Kyle Rittenhouse.” Another user said, “Why don’t you shut the f**k up Whoopi, what the hell do you know what really happened that night on that street, shut your big mouth woman?” Further, one more Twitter user added, “Whoopi, honey, how deep is your purse? When a media personality calls an innocent man a murderer, it is grounds for a winning lawsuit. Kyle Rittenhouse should empty her bank account. Whoopsee, Whoopi.”

Here’s How Many Hours of Sleep a Night Are Associated With Cognitive Decline

A good night’s sleep is important for many reasons. It helps our body repair itself and function as it should, and is linked to better mental health and lower risk of many health conditions – including heart disease and diabetes. It’s also been shown that not getting enough sleep is linked to cognitive decline and conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.

But more isn’t always better, as one recent study found. Researchers from the Washington University School of Medicine have published a paper that indicates that just like getting too little sleep, sleeping too much may also be linked with cognitive decline.

The research team wanted to know how much sleep was linked to cognitive impairment over time. To do this, they looked at 100 older adults in their mid-to-late-70s on average, and tracked them for between four and five years. At the time of their study, 88 people did not show any signs of dementia, while 12 showed signs of cognitive impairment (one with mild dementia and 11 with the pre-dementia stage of mild cognitive impairment).

Throughout the study, participants were asked to complete a range of commonplace cognitive and neuropsychological tests to look for signs of cognitive decline or dementia. Their scores from these tests were then combined into a single score, called the Preclinical Alzheimer Cognitive Composite (PACC) score. The higher the score, the better their cognition was over time.

Sleep was measured using a single-electrode encephalography (EEG) device, which participants wore on their forehead while sleeping, for a total of between four to six nights. This was done once, three years after people first completed their annual cognitive tests. This EEG allowed the researchers to accurately measure brain activity, which would tell them whether or not someone was asleep (and for how long), and how restful that sleep was.
