Scientists Just Found One Quadrillion Tons of Diamonds Buried in the Ground

Don’t tell the Hatton Garden gang: scientists just unearthed an eye-watering hoard of diamonds, so valuable it would completely destroy the world’s economy.

The scientists reckon there’s a quadrillion tonnes of diamond buried in the ‘cratonic roots’ in continents.

There’s just one, tiny, catch: the treasure trove is buried 100 miles down, deeper than any drill has ever penetrated, according to MIT researchers. . .

Given that a ton of diamond is 50,000,000 carats, worth at least £3,000 each, that comes out at a tasty £150,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 by our relatively unscientific calculations.

‘This shows that diamond is not perhaps this exotic mineral, but on the [geological] scale of things, it’s relatively common,’ says Ulrich Faul, a research scientist in MIT’s Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences. Congressman Drops Bombshell About Lisa Page Testimony

By The Daily Wire. Congressional leaders have praised the testimony of former FBI agent Lisa Page in recent days and have said that they found her testimony to be very credible as some of them claim she gave a very different account of events than her former lover, disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok.

Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that there were “significant differences” in Page’s testimony compared to the testimony given by Strzok and that she gave congressional investigators new information they did not previously have.

“In many cases, she admits that the text messages mean exactly what they say, as opposed to Agent Strzok, who thinks that we’ve all misinterpreted his own words on any text message that might be negative,” Ratcliff told reporters on Monday, according to ABC News.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) agreed with Ratcliffe’s statement, saying, “She’s certainly more cooperative than Peter Strzok was and the pieces of information filled in some blanks along the way, but we’ve got a huge jigsaw puzzle to put together.” . . .

[Louie] Gohmert then took a shot at former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, saying, “When I hear Brennan or Clapper either saying the kind of things they’ve been saying recently, then it tells me, wow, we must be getting close to them. Those guilty dogs are barking pretty loud.” (Read more from “Congressman Drops Bombshell About Lisa Page Testimony” HERE)

Former FBI Lawyer Lisa Page Said Anti-Trump Texts With Peter Strzok ‘Mean Exactly What They Say’

By Townhall. Yesterday was day two of testimony from former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who was also the mistress of disgraced FBI Agent Peter Strzok. The two sent tens of thousands of texts, anti-Trump in nature during some of the most politically sensitive investigations the FBI has undertaken in recent memory: the Clinton email probe and the counterintelligence investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. Strzok was a key player in both investigations. Throughout 2016, the two sent texts that have raised eyebrows and questioned the credibility of the FBI’s impartiality. From “we’ll stop it” and an “insurance policy,” both referring to the Trump presidency, GOP lawmakers want to know what Strzok meant. The insurance policy is allegedly the Trump dossier, which was a campaign opposition research file compiled by former MI6 spy Christopher Steele, who was hired by Fusion GPS during the 2016 election; Fusion was hired by the Clinton campaign to find dirt on Trump. That document was allegedly used to secure a FISA warrant to spy on Trump’s former foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

Strzok’s testimony last week before Congress was a rodeo fraught with drama, as Democrats kept interrupting, some GOP members bringing up Strzok’s extramarital affair with Page, and other acts of insanity. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) said he would have given Strzok a Purple Heart. Strzok was combative, said his anti-Trump texts were an expression of “deep patriotism,” and that his “we’ll stop it” text was made in reference to Trump’s remarks about Gold Star parent Khizr Khan. It was ridiculous. Strzok’s main point was that his biased texts weren’t evidence of bias.

For Page, there were no fireworks. No explosive moments that we know of since it was behind closed doors. Yet, House Republicans found her testimony credible and respected her willingness to get to the truth. Her testimony on Friday did, however, raise concerns with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) concerning whether the FBI was driving towards a desired outcomeon the Russia investigation. Now, Page reportedly told House members that those anti-Trump texts meant exactly what they mean, according to Rep. John Ratcliff (R-TX). Scientists Find Creepy ‘Lizardfish’ Lurking off Coast of Carolinas

After seeing what a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Exploration and Research team has found off the coast of the Carolinas, I can understand that fear. Scaly horrors swim beneath us — and we hardly know anything about them. . .

The expedition encountered one of the ocean’s simultaneously most bizarre and terrifying creatures on July 1. At a depth of 5,810 feet, the camera’s light casting an eerie, blue fluorescence.

The picture shows a small fish with delicately feathered fins, scales that resemble those of an iguana and a nightmare-inducing visage. Flat, button-like eyes punctuate a spiny maw that looks as though it could strip skin away with the barest twitch of its jaws.

What’s more, the animal gets even odder the more you learn about it. For instance, every member of the species possesses a set of genitals for both sexes, meaning its always able to reproduce with another lizardfish. . .

A dive on June 29 revealed “an unidentified fish … seen in a burrow,” its protruding jaw set in a seeming grimace. Think back to some of the aliens that appeared in Jabba the Hutt’s palace in the 1983 movie “Return of the Jedi,” and you have a pretty good idea of what this one looks like. Woman Calls New York a ‘Literal Nightmare’ After What She Saw Crawling out of Her Drain

. . .Bari Finkel and Alex Goulet said they noticed a baby rat crawling out of their drain in their bathroom Friday. While they were shocked and disgusted, they took some photos and posted them on social media. . .

“You see something like that in the comfort of your own home and it takes you back quite a bit,” added Goulet.

“I don’t love the idea that it went back down there,” Finkel said about the rat crawling back into the sink drain.

“It’s a tradeoff for living in the city,” said Goulet. “Occasionally you see a rat, and for us it just happened to be in our bathroom.” (Read more from “Woman Calls New York a ‘Literal Nightmare’ After What She Saw Crawling out of Her Drain” HERE)

Here’s the Russian Interference Context the Lying Media Won’t Give You

Monday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin pushed back on the one-sided commentary attacking President Trump for how he handled his meeting with Vladimir Putin. He noted that Trump is being held to a different standard than former President Barack Obama.

“Now I understand there will be those out there who say, ‘Look, we’re focused on Trump. Why do you want to talk about Obama?’ I want to talk about both because the hypocrisy — in fact, the bald-faced lying — is so obvious that you have to talk in context,” Levin said.

Levin played 2017 audio of former President Barack Obama acknowledging that the Russians tried to interfere in the U.S. election. Levin pointed out that Obama himself said Putin’s election interference must be confronted in a “thoughtful, methodical way,” some of it publicly, some of it privately.

Levin argued that while Russian election interference was happening, Obama never confronted Putin publicly and the media was silent. But now the media is excoriating Trump for failing to ream Putin at a public press conference.

“Context is everything,” Levin said. “And they’re not giving you context, are they?”

Listen:

Mocking the different standards for Obama and Trump, Levin gave an impression of what he thinks members of the media sound like they’re telling Trump today:

“By God, you should’ve stood up there today and said, ‘Hey, Putin look what you did! Look what you did! Admit it! Admit it now! I’ve got the cuffs in my back pocket, and I’m going to cuff you and drag you off the damn stage!’”

“Is this a joke?” Levin asked seriously. “It sounds like a joke.” (For more from the author of “Here’s the Russian Interference Context the Lying Media Won’t Give You” please click HERE)

Nunes: Mueller Indictment Would Look Ridiculous If Trump Had Taken This One Step

By The Daily Caller. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said Sunday that the special counsel’s indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers “would look ridiculous” had President Donald Trump declassified portions of a congressional report that laid out Russian efforts to steal and disseminate Democrats’ emails. . .

The indictment accuses military intelligence officers with Russia’s GRU of hacking into the DNC and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton campaign’s computer networks and releasing stolen documents through the fake online personas, Guccifer 2.0 and DCLeaks.

Nunes said in an interview on “Fox Sunday Futures” that much of the information was included in Chapter 2 of the House Intelligence Committee’s report, but it was heavily redacted in response to requests from the Department of Justice and intelligence community. . .

“If the President of the United States had declassified this … the Mueller indictment would look ridiculous today if this was unredacted and declassified,” Nunes said Sunday.

Nunes’ call for declassification mark a subtle shift in the Republican’s public stance on the Russia investigation. He only recently started calling on Trump to declassify documents related to the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. The comments suggest that Nunes believes that the only way that the public will see some of the information about the Justice Department and FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign is if Trump orders the documents be declassified. Rep. Devin Nunes: Indictment of Russians Leaves out Targeting of GOP

By Washington Examiner. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said special counsel Robert Mueller’s recent indictment of 12 Russian officials on charges of hacking Democrats’ computers during the 2016 campaign looks “ridiculous” because it left out Republicans who were also targeted.

During an interview Sunday on Fox News, Nunes accused the media of largely ignoring the findings of his committee’s months-old report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, which he asserted was more comprehensive than Mueller’s indictment. However, he also claimed the redactions in his panel’s report prevented the presentation of the full picture and urged President Trump to declassify it.

“This entire report that you have in front of you, all you had to do was get to page 4, and you only had to read chapter 2 and you would have had nearly everything that’s in the indictment,” Nunes said, referring to a copy of the report held by host Maria Bartiromo. “There’s more in this report than what’s in the indictment. And this is what’s very frustrating.”

A grand jury returned Mueller’s indictment Friday, after which it was announced by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The charges said 12 Russian officials “engaged in a sustained effort” to break into computers owned by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee, and Hillary Clinton’s campaign in the lead-up to the 2016 election. Congressman Calls for Military Coup Against Trump

On Monday, after President Trump’s inflammatory remarks concerning the U.S. intelligence community, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) seemingly called for a military coup to overthrow Trump:

. . .

Cohen has made his feelings quite clear when it comes to President Trump; Speaking with MSNBC in January, Cohen snapped, “Donald Trump is the most despicable human being to ever reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue … a narcissistic sociopath doesn’t change. It endangers the country. And war … is something he could get into to improve the rating for the [20]18 elections, where [Republicans] are in desperate shape. And will do anything to improve ratings.”

Al Franken Releases His List of Questions for Brett Kavanaugh – but There’s One Big Problem

Late Saturday night, Al Franken “released” a list of questions for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. There’s just one problem, though: Al Franken won’t be able to question Kavanaugh, because he’s no longer a sitting United States senator.

Franken, who has not changed his Twitter handle from “U.S. Senator Al Franken,” despite resigning from office amid a series of sexual harassment allegations, announced his opposition to Kavanaugh on Saturday in a post to Facebook.

What follows is a fever dream in which Franken “nails” Brett Kavanaugh for a comment Kavanaugh made during his official introduction last Monday, suggesting that President Donald Trump presided over a thorough and extensive vetting process, and that “no president has ever consulted more widely, or talked with more people from more backgrounds, to seek input.”

Franken concludes by noting that he “knows” precisely what would happen in the exchange: that Kavanaugh would reveal he was selected “through a shoddy, disgraceful process” conducted using resources from those nefarious, shady conservative groups, the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation, and that Kavanaugh has worked, from the beginning, as if pushed by a vision of a future where Donald Trump nominated him to the Supreme Court, to cover his tracks as an utterly partisan official. . .

James Woods Goes off on Hillary in What Could Be His Best Tweet Ever

Hillary Clinton is on the comeback trail. She’s officially out of the woods, running second in polls regarding 2020 Democrat contenders and is even portraying herself as a woman of the people by flying commercial transportation (a short trip on Delta which seemed to have a conspicuous number of media figures present at the airport and on the flight).

All of these facts ought to be great news for conservatives. Please, let’s have a 2020 rematch, except one where Hillary won’t have a two-to-one advantage in campaign funds, one where Trump has already proven himself as a reliable conservative and one where the Democrats continue to drift further and further to the left without any real evidence that’s where the electorate is going.

Perhaps the recent trip on Delta was darkly apropos one, since one trivia Twitter account decided to post a surprising fact about your chances of becoming the president of this great country.

. . .

Hrm. Who could it be? I don’t think it’s Martha from “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” Then again, it certainly sounds like someone who might be experiencing the same marital issues she was…

By the way, rumors of Hillary’s boozing aren’t exactly idle speculation. One of the trove WikiLeaks emails instructs John Podesta to “sober her up some,” which could have been a joke.

Ignore the Protesters: This Is How the British Really Feel About Trump

Thanks to the exaggerated outrage of the mainstream media and the attention-seeking protests of London leftists, a narrative seems to have set in that the vast majority of British people oppose this week’s visit of President Trump. As a Brit myself, however, I am delighted to confirm this lazy slur could not be further from the truth.

In reality, the vast majority of British conservatives (and a good chunk of floating voters too) are coming to admire Trump. His unmistakable approach to politics – straight-talking, honest and completely fearless – is increasingly viewed with envy by British voters tired of backsliding career politicians. Brits look over the Atlantic and see a leader who actually puts his money where his mouth is – and gets results for it too.

To fully understand Trump’s popularity, you have to look at the current state of British politics. Over two years since the country voted to leave the European Union, we have seen virtually zero progress at delivering on the result of the referendum. Rather than battling with Brussels to return our sovereignty, end uncontrolled immigration, and give a better deal to British business, Theresa May’s government has been paralyzed by infighting, trying desperately to scrap together compromises which keep the establishment forces on side. Earlier this year, a British political journalist revealed that Trump often begins his calls with the Prime Minister by asking “are you out yet?” – and you can see why.

It’s no surprise that Brits are increasingly frustrated with the government’s mishandling of Brexit. What’s more interesting is that when you ask them what kind of leader they want to get us out of this mess, an increasing number are saying the same thing: someone like Trump. Brexit supporters observe how he deals with similar rubbish deals (the Iranian nuclear fiasco, for one) and they realize how much more can be achieved when leaders actually show some muscle.

Then there’s the fact that Trump remains the only international leader to publicly suggest offering Britain a new trade deal – something which is wildly popular with mainstream voters. While Brexit’s critics may paint the vote as insular and backwards, they forget that our biggest motivation for leaving Europe was to strike better trade deals elsewhere. As a businessman, Trump respects this. He has made loud and clear overtures in support of a big deal (unlike President Obama, who famously warned the Brits they would be “at the back of the queue” if they left the EU).
