Here’s How Many Times Trump Said ‘I’ in His First SOTU Address… Compare That with Obama’s

The language used by President Donald Trump in his first ever State of the Union speech on Tuesday contrasted sharply with the words of former President Barack Obama when he addressed Congress in 2010.

According to a transcript of the speech released by CNN, Trump referred to himself in the first person singular 30 times. He said the word “I” 29 times, in addition to adding one “me.”

Obama, when he delivered his first State of the Union, used “some version of ‘I’ or ‘me’ nearly 100 times,” wrote Dan Gainor, the vice president for business and culture at the Media Research Center.

In an op-ed for Fox News, Gainor wrote that Obama made these “I” or “me” references nearly four times as often as Trump did.

“Obama’s 2010 speech was littered with “I” or a contraction in some form or another — 88 times, with another 10 “me,” Gainor wrote.

In one sentence, for example, Obama managed to say the word “I” four times.

“But when I ran for president, I promised I wouldn’t just do what was popular, I would do what was necessary,” the then-president said.

There was only one time, meanwhile, when Trump said “I” twice in the same sentence, according to Gainor.

As Gainor noted, mainstream media outlets often accuse Trump of having a massive ego. A recent headline from Vanity Fair read, “Will Trump’s ego launch a nuclear war?” Moreover, Politico tried to connect the president’s ego to alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

But if their speeches are any indication, it’s Obama, not Trump, who was obsessed with himself, Gainor suggested.

A 2009 study from NewsBusters, a division of the MRC, claimed that in his first 41 speeches as president, Obama mentioned himself 1,198 times.

Trump’s Tuesday address could not have been more different.

In addition to limiting his usage of “I” and “me,” Trump made a point of saying the words “we” or “our.”

According to The Daily Caller, Trump said “we” 129 times, and “our” 104 times.

“As long as we are proud of who we are and what we are fighting for, there is nothing we cannot achieve,” Trump said near the end of his 80-minute long address. “As long as we have confidence in our values, faith in our citizens, and trust in our God, we will never fail.”

“Our families will thrive. Our people will prosper. And our nation will forever be safe and strong and proud and mighty and free,” he added, emphasizing the importance of coming together as Americans and celebrating our shared heritage. Files: Obama Leaked Intel to ‘Subvert Trump’

The Washington watchdog Judicial Watch released 42 pages of State Department documents Wednesday, asserting they provide evidence that the Obama administration was trying to undermine Donald Trump’s upcoming administration.

The documents, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, contain classified information that was provided just before Trump’s Jan. 20, 2017, inauguration to Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and an outspoken critic of Trump.

The documents detail Russian political interference in elections and politics in countries across Europe.

“These documents show the Obama State Department under John Kerry gathered and sent its own dossier of classified information on Russia to Senator Ben Cardin, a political ally in the U.S. Senate, to undermine President Trump,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton . . .

On Monday, the House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines to release the controversial Republican staff memo alleging what some GOP lawmakers are calling abuses “worse than Watergate” of government surveillance programs during the 2016 presidential campaign. Spearheaded by the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., the four-page classified memo is said to include text messages from FBI agent Peter Strzok – the agent who led the probe of Hillary Clinton’s server and was fired from special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe for anti-Trump bias – that indicate the so-called widely discredited “Steele dossier” was used to obtain FISA warrants to spy on Trump campaign officials. President Trump has five days to decide whether or not to block release of the memo. (Read more from “Files: Obama Leaked Intel to ‘Subvert Trump'” HERE)

SOTU: Dems Boo Trump on Illegal Immigration, Quickly Shut up When Trump Honors Victims of MS-13 Violence

In his first State of the Union address, President Donald Trump called on Republicans and Democrats to set aside their differences and unite on behalf of the American people.

“Tonight, I call upon all of us to set aside our differences, to seek out common ground, and to summon the unity we need to deliver for the people we were elected to serve,” Trump said.

The Democrats were uninterested, refusing to stand as President Trump recounted many of the past year’s achievements for the American people.

At one point, as President Trump criticized open borders policies that “have allowed drugs and gangs to pour into our most vulnerable communities” and have “caused the loss of many innocent lives,” the Democrats started to boo. They were cut off as the president continued, pointing to his guests in the gallery.

“Here tonight are two mothers and two fathers: Evelyn Rodriguez, Freddy Cuevas, Elizabeth Alvarado, and Robert Mickens,” Trump said.

“Their two teenage daughters — Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens — were close friends on Long Island. But in September 2016, on the eve of Nisa’s 16th Birthday, such a happy time it should have been, neither of them came home. These two precious girls were brutally murdered while walking together in their hometown. Six members of the savage MS-13 gang have been charged with Kayla and Nisa’s murders. Many of these gang members took advantage of glaring loopholes in our laws to enter the country as unaccompanied illegal unaccompanied alien minors — and wound up in Kayla and Nisa’s high school.”

“Evelyn, Elizabeth, Freddy, and Robert: Tonight, everyone in this chamber is praying for you,” Trump said. “Everyone in America is grieving for you.”

And yet:

Here’s video. Listen for the groans at the 1:11 time mark:

The president continued as they remained seated.

“So tonight, I am extending an open hand to work with members of both parties — Democrats and Republicans — to protect our citizens of every background, color, religion, and creed,” he said. “My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans — to protect their safety, their families, their communities, and their right to the American Dream. Because Americans are dreamers too.”

The Democratic Party is blinded by their hatred of President Trump. So hateful are they that they refuse to stand for American citizens, the victims of our unsecured border.

It’s shameful, really. (For more from the author of “Dems Boo Trump on Illegal Immigration, Quickly Shut up When Trump Honors Victims of Ms-13 Violence” please click HERE)

THE FACE OF EVIL: Murkowski Votes to Keep America’s Baby Butcher Shops Open For Business

The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a bill that would create a federal ban on abortions that take place after the 20th week of pregnancy, was defeated in the United States Senate Monday night. The Senate fell short of the 60 votes needed to break a filibuster and proceed to a simple majority vote on the bill.

Two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, joined with the Democrats to vote against breaking a filibuster. Three pro-life Democrats voted for the ban.

The 20-week point is approximately halfway through a woman’s pregnancy. Parents can know the baby’s sex. At 20 weeks, the baby is roughly the size of a banana, weighing about 10.2 ounces and measuring approximately 6.5 inches from crown to rump. At 21 weeks, the baby can be measured from “head to toe.”

At this point in the pregnancy, the baby can hear her mother’s heartbeat and voice. The baby’s hair is starting to grow. Her body, fully formed, is performing somersaults in the womb. The baby’s eyes are working, and she can perceive light. The baby has fingerprints, yawns, and sucks her thumb.

Also, at this stage of the pregnancy, the baby in the womb can feel pain. This means that during the abortion procedure, the baby can feel as her limbs are torn off with forceps and pulled from the mother’s womb.

As Townhall’s Guy Benson noted on Twitter, supporting a ban on abortions after 20 weeks is a mainstream position. Recent polling shows that even self-described “pro-choice” Americans support significant restrictions on abortion. Six in ten Americans support banning abortions after the 20-week point of pain.

\Abortion is cruel and inhumane. It is an evil thing. And today roughly half of the United States Senate, including two Republicans, voted to continue the practice even when a baby can feel pain.

‘Police State’ National ID Card in Major Bill

Inserted in a sweeping House bill introduced earlier this month called Securing America’s Future Act of 2018 is the establishment of a new biometric National ID card for all Americans that has privacy activists sounding alarms.

Introduced by Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., H.R. 4760 encompasses issues such as education, Homeland Security and the military. Buried in the 400-page legislation is the new mandatory national identification system in which citizens would be required to carry a government-approved ID containing “biometric features.”

The bill states that anyone seeking employment in the country must have the card.

The purpose of the measure, part of the legislative solution to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, is to curb illegal immigration. It specifically addresses the shortcomings of the E-Verify system, which has failed to catch an estimated 54 percent of illegal immigrant workers.

Ron Paul, the former Republican lawmaker and presidential candidate known for his libertarian views, has launched a campaign against the national ID through his non-profit Campaign for Liberty, including an online petition. (Read more from “‘Police State’ National ID Card in Major Bill” HERE)

ICE Struck a Deal to Track License Plates Across the U.S.

By Russell Brandom. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has officially gained agency-wide access to a nationwide license plate recognition database, according to a contract finalized earlier this month. The system gives the agency access to billions of license plate records and new powers of real-time location tracking, raising significant concerns from civil libertarians.

The source of the data is not named in the contract, but an ICE representative said the data came from Vigilant Solutions, the leading network for license plate recognition data. “Like most other law enforcement agencies, ICE uses information obtained from license plate readers as one tool in support of its investigations,” spokesperson Dani Bennett said in a statement. “ICE is not seeking to build a license plate reader database, and will not collect nor contribute any data to a national public or private database through this contract.”

Reached by The Verge, Vigilant declined to confirm any contract with ICE. “As policy, Vigilant Solutions is not at liberty to share any contractual details,” the company said in a statement. “This is a standard agreement between our company, our partners, and our clients.”

While it collects few photos itself, Vigilant Solutions has amassed a database of more than 2 billion license plate photos by ingesting data from partners like vehicle repossession agencies and other private groups. Vigilant also partners with local law enforcement agencies, often collecting even more data from camera-equipped police cars. The result is a massive vehicle-tracking network generating as many as 100 million sightings per month, each tagged with a date, time, and GPS coordinates of the sighting. Now ICE Can Track License Plates, and Fears Are Mounting

By The Miami Herald. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) contract to access a license plate recognition database is reinforcing undocumented migrants’ fears of being located and deported to their home countries . . .

That means ICE agents can track the movements of a license plate for the past five years, which could lead to home addresses and other places and people associated with the car owner.

The contract also allows ICE to access motor vehicle registration lists, which could provide its agents with real-time addresses and lead to an increase in deportations. (Read more from “Now ICE Can Track License Plates, and Fears Are Mounting” HERE)

New State Rankings Are In: Best and Worst State in America Revealed

A popular travel site rank ordered all 50 states in the U.S. and at least one Florida reporter is not happy with where the Sunshine State fell.

Thrillist, which has over 4.8 million followers on Facebook and nearly 400,000 on Instagram, ranked Florida dead last in its “The Definitive and Final Ranking of All 50 States.”

The criteria used by site editors Kevin Alexander and Matt Lynch to reach their findings included, “their contributions to America, so think inventions, food/drink, somewhat productive famous people, unique physical beauty, etc.”

The writers added they expect disagreements, but after the two of them hashed out the merits and demerits of each state, the chips fell as they did.

As for the continental U.S.’s most tropical state, Alexander and Lynch wrote, “When putting together a list such as this, there can be some temptation to defy popular expectations, and go against the grain. However, Florida’s awfulness resume is so staggeringly impressive that it couldn’t go any other way. You were born for this. Embrace it.”

Among the other bottom dwellers were Delaware, Ohio, Arizona, Utah, Mississippi, Connecticut, North Dakota, Missouri, and Nevada.

At the other end of the spectrum, Thrillist’s surprising pick for “best state” was Michigan, followed by Maine, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Hawaii, Minnesota, Washington, California and Colorado.

“Far too much of the Michigan narrative centers on Detroit and its many issues,” explained Alexander and Lynch. “The Motor City’s become a scrappily rising underdog you can’t help but root for, but Michigan’s greatest strengths lie in the state as a whole.”

“Did you know Michigan has more coastline than any state other than Alaska?” they added. “Did you know it has such an embarrassment of beer riches that you can easily hit Bell’s and Founders in the same afternoon?”

“Did you know the UP (Upper Peninsula) is so remote and uniquely beautiful that it almost feels like a secret 51st state where they inexplicably love British meat pies?”

However, Miami Herald reporter Howard Cohen took exception to Thrillist’s rankings.

“Florida ranks dead last when it comes to rating the best states in the nation,” Cohen wrote. “Michigan ranks No. 1, the very best state in the union.”

He continued, “Let that sink in for awhile. Michigan, the state that gave us the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock (the poor man’s Ted Nugent), is 49 states better than Florida.”

Cohen noted that food and drink seemed to weigh heavily in the ordering.

Thrillist mentioned Alaska’s salmon, but Cohen counted, “We have Joe’s Stone Crab in South Beach.”

As to Michigan and Alaska’s (ranked 16) long coastlines, Cohen wrote, “So have you had the desire to go swimming in Michigan — or Alaska lately?” (For more from the author of “New State Rankings Are In: Best and Worst State in America Revealed” please click HERE)

Soros Threatens: Trump ‘Will Disappear in 2020 or Even Sooner’

On Thursday, far-left billionaire George Soros, who is the financial backbone of the Democratic Party, attacked President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Soros, who spent millions backing failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, claimed that Trump was leading the world to nuclear war and that he is trying to establish a dictatorship in the United States, CNBC reported.

“Indeed, the United States is set on a course towards nuclear war by refusing to accept that [North] Korea has become a nuclear power,” Soros said. “This creates a strong incentive for North Korea to develop its nuclear capacity with all possible speed, which in turn may induce the United States to use its nuclear superiority pre-emptively, in effect to start a nuclear war to prevent a nuclear war, obviously a self-contradictory strategy.”

Soros claimed, without evidence, that Trump is trying to institute a “mafia state” in the U.S. but can’t “because the Constitution and the institutions and a vibrant society won’t allow it.” He also said that he is using his Open Society Foundation, a radical left-wing organization to which he just gave $18 billion, to “protect the democratic achievements of the past.” [He also issued a veiled threat to Trump:] “Clearly I consider the Trump administration a danger to the world,” Soros continued. “But I regard it as a purely temporary phenomenon that will disappear in 2020 or even sooner.” (Read more from “Soros Threatens: Trump ‘Will Disappear in 2020 or Even Sooner'” HERE)

Photo of Obama with Hate Group Leader Surfaces After Being Kept Secret for Years to Protect Him

A new photo has been recently released of former President Barack Obama with the leader of a black nationalist hate group.

The picture shows former Illinois Sen. Obama posing with the leader of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan.

Farrakhan is known for his radical anti-Semitic and anti-white views, outlined by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The photo was taken by Askia Muhammad at the 2005 Democratic National Convention, according to NorthStar News Today, but he kept the picture hidden so Obama could run for president.

“I gave the picture up at the time and basically swore to secrecy,” Muhammad said to the Trice Edney News Wire. “But after the nomination was secured and all the way up until the inauguration; then for eight years after he was President, it was kept under cover.”

Now that Obama is done with his political career, Muhammad published the photo in a book called “The Autobiography of Charles 67X,” which will be released at the end of this month, The Daily Caller reported.

Muhammad insisted that it would have made a difference in the 2008 election, and others agreed with him.

“I do believe that it would have had a very, very negative affect in that given moment as far as the candidacy of candidate Obama at that time,” Dr. Shayla Nunnally, president of the National Conference of Black Political Scientists, said.

A. Peter Bailey, columnist and political observer, disagreed that it could have cost Obama the election.

“It could have done some damage,” he said, according to NorthStar News Today. “But nothing could have stopped the election because Black support would have countered it.”

Obama’s support of Farrakhan came up during during the 2008 campaign when Hillary Clinton criticized him during a debate.

“There’s a difference between denouncing and rejecting,” Clinton said, according to CNN. “And I think when it comes to this sort of, you know, inflammatory — I have no doubt that everything that Barack just said is absolutely sincere. But I just think, we’ve got to be even stronger. We cannot let anyone in any way say these things because of the implications that they have, which can be so far reaching.”

This criticism came after Farrakhan “made positive statements about Obama’s candidacy,” and Obama said that he denounced the controversial leader’s anti-Semitic remarks.

“I obviously can’t censor him, but it is not support that I sought,” he said in the debate. “And we’re not doing anything, I assure you, formally or informally with Minister Farrakhan.”

When Clinton pushed him about rejecting the remarks instead of just denouncing them, he said, “But if the word ‘reject’ Senator Clinton feels is stronger than the word ‘denounce,’ then I’m happy to concede the point, and I would reject and denounce.”

The recently released photo shows that Obama could have been closer to Farrakhan then it appeared. (For more from the author of “Photo of Obama with Hate Group Leader Surfaces After Being Kept Secret for Years to Protect Him” please click HERE)

Explosive Claim: Missing FBI Texts Show Treasonous Plan to Harm Trump; Agents Met, Discussed ‘Secret Society’ Day After the Election

By PJ Media. There is serious talk on Capitol Hill about the appointment of a second special counsel amid several new bombshell revelations swirling around the Trump/Russia probe. First, there are the allegations of shocking and substantial government surveillance abuses under President Obama outlined in the FISA abuse memo. Secondly, the FBI lost five months of key text messages between the anti-Trump/pro-Clinton FBI officials Peter Strzok and his mistress Lisa Page. And now there’s talk of a “secret society” of officials within the FBI that apparently met the day after the election of Donald J. Trump to plot against the president-elect.

Top Republicans now believe there may be real grounds for a second special counsel, Fox News reported Monday evening.

Reps. Devin Nunes (R-CA), Trey Gowdy (R-SC), and Bob Goodlatte (R- VA) met on Saturday to discuss the FISA memo and the text messages. On Monday, the trio put out the following statement:

FBI Official: FBI Agents Threatened Physical Harm to President Trump in Missing FBI Texts and Other “Frightening” Communications

By True Pundit. A high-ranking FBI official confirms a number of the missing 50,000 FBI text messages — as well as other text and email messages among FBI brass — reportedly discussed initiating physical harm to President Donald Trump.

The FBI official urged the U.S. Department of Homeland Security — which oversees the U.S. Secret Service — to launch an investigation of the Justice Department, the FBI and all text messages missing and otherwise that threatened the President.

“This is dangerous territory and all FBI text messages and personal phones should be examined,” the official said. “It would reveal some frightening conversations.” (Read more from “FBI Official: FBI Agents Threatened Physical Harm to President Trump in Missing FBI Texts and Other “Frightening” Communications” HERE)

Hannity: DOJ Has Started Recovering Missing FBI Texts, DOJ Sources Say

By Fox News. Fox News’ Sean Hannity said Wednesday night on “Hannity” that the Justice Department has started recovering some of the missing texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, citing DOJ sources.

Federal law enforcement officials had notified congressional committees that a technical glitch affected thousands of FBI cellphones between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017. This meant that 5 months’ worth of texts would be missing from Strzok and Page, both of whom are under scrutiny after it was revealed that the former members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team exchanged anti-Trump texts during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Hannity said sources at the DOJ told him they have begun to recover some of the texts from that time period. Specific content from those texts has not been released . . .

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, have sent a letter to Inspector General Michael Horowitz noting that the IG’s office said on Dec. 13 that it had all the messages between Strzok and Page between Nov. 30, 2016, and July 28, 2017.
