Gubernatorial Candidate Chris Kurka Compares Dunleavy and Pierce to Pontious Pilot: Declares Them Unfit for Service

In the same week the U.S. Supreme Court announced its watershed decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade, and to give the issue back to states to decide for themselves, Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy issued a statement in which he washed his hands of any executive power, authority, or commitment to use his position to stop the killing of preborn children in Alaska.

Likewise in a statement released to the Alaska Watchman, Gubernatorial Candidate Charlie Pierce refused to make any commitment to defend the pre-born, or to state that the practice abortion is even wrong.

When asked to weigh-in concerning his opponents’ abortion statements, pro-life champion and Gubernatorial Candidate Christopher Kurka said, “What further proof is needed for Alaskans to realize Dunleavy and Pierce are not conservatives? They are both spineless cowards. SCOTUS just told them ‘You decide the legality of abortion in your own state’ and they retreated from the field before the fight against the murderous left in this state has even begun!”

Presenting copies of an “Alaska Right to Life, PAC Personhood Candidate Pledge,” signed by Governor Dunleavy on February 23, 2012, and on June 17, 2014; Kurka said, “Mike Dunleavy refuses to stop state funding for abortion and is a Liar, Oath Breaker, and Coward who must be stripped of the honor of serving a second term as Alaska’s Governor.”

According to the Pledge, which is routinely given to candidates seeking the Alaska Right to Life Endorsement and the support of Pro-life Voters, the document specifically spells-out that the petitioning candidate promises to, “affirm my support for a Human Life Amendment to the Alaska Constitution and other legislation and actions that would support these principals.”

To drive his point home for pro-life voters who may remain undecided on who to vote for, Kurka made a historical comparison to another governor stating:

“Community leaders and legal elites once asked a Roman Governor to make a difficult moral decision; to either defend the life of an innocent man, or release a murderous man from prison, and turn the innocent man over to the mob to be murdered. Though he knew it was wrong to turn the man over, he ignored his conscience and his duty to govern justly, literally washing his hands of the matter, he told the mob ‘You decide.’ As potential Governors of Alaska, both Dunleavy and Pierce have already communicated they will follow the example set by Governor Pilot so many years ago.”

According to Kurka, “A vote for the Kurka/Hueper ticket is a vote for Life. If you want more broken promises and death vote for Charlie and Mike.

Judge Blocks State’s Abortion Ban From Going Into Effect

Orleans Parish Civil District Judge Robin Giarrusso granted a temporary restraining order Monday that blocks Louisiana’s abortion ban from going into effect after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Friday decision that sent abortion lawmaking back to state legislatures.

Hope Medical Group for Women, an abortion clinic in Shreveport, Louisiana, filed a petition after the SCOTUS decision activated the state’s “trigger law,” making abortion illegal in the state, reported KPLC.

The Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) worked with Boies Schiller Flexner LLP and Ellie Schilling to represent the abortion clinic, according to the outlet.

Giarrusso granted a temporary restraining order of the enforcement of the abortion ban allowing Lousiana clinics to continue performing abortions without fear of violating the state law banning abortion, KPLC reported. More Than 2 Dozen States to Restrict Abortions

Thirteen states in the country are poised to enact immediate abortion bans and at least 13 more could quickly follow suit after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday, leaving abortion rights up to the states to decide.

At least 13 states in the country have so-called “trigger laws” banning most abortions that will take effect immediately or within weeks of Roe v. Wade being overturned.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion rights research group, those states are Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming, which just passed its trigger law in April.

There are also five additional states – Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, West Virginia and Wisconsin – that still have an abortion ban on the books from before Roe v. Wade that will go into effect now that the 1973 landmark law is overturned.

The Democratic governors of Michigan and Wisconsin have pushed back against those laws: Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer filed a lawsuit in April asking the Michigan Supreme Court to stop enforcement of the state’s 1931 abortion ban, and Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has called for the repeal of an 1849 state law that makes abortion a felony. (Read more from “More Than 2 Dozen States to Restrict Abortions” HERE)

Draft Leak Versus Actual Dobbs Opinion Shows Supreme Court Didn’t Buckle Under Pressure

The leaked Supreme Court draft opinion that foreshadowed the overturning of abortion rights last month resembles Friday’s final decision, signaling that the justices did not buckle under weeks of public pressure.

Despite a national outcry of protests, marches, and an alleged attempted assassination against Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Justice Samuel Alito’s majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization very closely resembled the draft opinion leaked by Politico on May 2.

“It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives. … That is what the Constitution and the rule of law demand,” Alito wrote in the draft and the final decision on Friday.

The draft opinion signaled Friday’s likely outcome that Justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Kavanaugh, appointees of former President Donald Trump, would join Justices Clarence Thomas and Alito to upend 50 years of precedent regarding abortion access and allow states to create laws banning or severely limiting abortion. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Vows Access to Abortions for Troops

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Friday vowed to provide service members with “seamless access” to reproductive health care in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.

He said in a statement:

Nothing is more important to me or to this Department than the health and well-being of our Service members, the civilian workforce and DOD families. I am committed to taking care of our people and ensuring the readiness and resilience of our Force. The Department is examining this decision closely and evaluating our policies to ensure we continue to provide seamless access to reproductive health care as permitted by federal law.

‘Pro-Choice’ Democrats Demand Google Block Search Results for Crisis Pregnancy Centers

As pregnancy centers, pro-life organizations, and churches all around the nation are under siege from pro-abortion criminal groups which are outraged that the U.S. Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, 21 congressional Democrats are demanding Google’s parent company Alphabet ban search engine results for crisis pregnancy centers so women will feel they have no options but to seek services from facilities that promote murdering preborn babies.

In a letter addressed to Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai on June 17, Democrats such as Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, Richard Blumenthal, Dianne Feinstein, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Bernie Sanders smeared life-affirming pregnancy centers, many of which offer free or discounted pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and other care to women in need, as “fake clinics” that don’t deserve a spot in Google’s top results.

The Democrats parroted data from the foreign dark-money group The Center for Countering Digital Hate which recently claimed that 11 percent of search engine results for queries such as “abortion near me” and “abortion pill” in at least 13 states where abortion will be effectively banned if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade redirected users to pregnancy centers. The same CCDH report allegedly found that 37 percent of Google Maps searches also ended at pro-life care clinics.

In the letter, Democrat signatories argue that these kinds of search engine results are “misleading” and could direct women to organizations that encourage and help them keep their babies alive. Unhinged Pro-Abortion Activists Heckle Pro-life Students at Supreme Court (VIDEO)

Pro-abortion and anti-abortion protesters once again showed up outside the walled off Supreme Court on Tuesday as the country waited to see if Roe v. Wade will be overturned with the expected decision from the Dobbs v. Jackson case.

Pro-abortion protesters upped the ante by having loudspeakers by their area in front of the Supreme Court as pro-life protesters shouted for the end of abortion across the country.

At one point, as decisions were being released, one pro-abortion demonstrator began to heckle activists who were with Students for Life.

WATCH: Clueless VP Harris Claims Abortion Aligns With Faith

There’s “nothing” about supporting abortion that conflicts with faith or would require anyone to “abandon” or “change” it, according to Vice President Kamala Harris, who warned of the impact of criminalizing the procedure, while arguing the government “should not have the ability to decide what an individual does with her own body.”

Asked about her work with activists on the issue of abortion and what Americans should expect in terms of executive action from the Biden administration if the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling is overturned, Harris called for patience in remarks on Friday.

“Well, let’s first wait and see exactly what the Court does, because that’ll give us a good idea of, frankly, what harm is going to result,” she said.

Americans Still Care More About Inflation Than Abortion

Most Americans still rank record-high inflation under President Joe Biden as the most important issue facing the United States even as the mainstream media fear-monger about the Supreme Court potentially overturning Roe v. Wade, according to a FiveThirtyEight/Ipsos poll released Thursday.

Fifty-five percent of Americans—including 71 percent of Republicans, 41 percent of Democrats, and 54 percent of independents—say inflation is the most important issue, the poll found, a 4-point increase since May. Just 10 percent, by contrast, say abortion is their biggest concern.

While mainstream media sources, including the New York Times, have attempted to stoke fears of abortion bans following the leak of a Supreme Court ruling that overturns Roe, the percent of Americans who cite abortion as their most important issue has increased by only 5 points, the poll found.
