City Cuts Ties with Nearly Half of the U.S. Because of ‘Restrictive Abortion Laws’

The city of San Francisco will no longer conduct business with 22 states that have laws limiting the ability of women to obtain abortions, city official announced Wednesday, according to Newsweek. . .

“Every day in this country, women’s reproductive rights are threatened, and we have to fight back,” San Francisco Mayor London Breed said in a statement. “Just as we restricted spending with states that have laws that discriminate against LGBTQ people, we are standing up against states that put women’s health at risk and that are actively working to limit reproductive freedoms.”

City employees will be prohibited from business travel to states on the list, and from making deals with companies headquartered in those states. The city ordinance targets states that have laws limiting abortion before viability—widely considered to be 24 weeks. From the city’s statement:

“In recent years, states across the country have passed a growing number of restrictive abortion laws. In accordance with Supervisor Brown’s ordinance, we identified state laws that prohibit abortion before viability and have recommended that these states be added to the City Administrator’s list,” said Dr. Emily Murase, Director of the Department of the Status of Women. “If any company that is headquartered in the listed states wants to continue doing business with the City, we encourage them to stand up for reproductive rights and advocate for a change to their state law. We applaud Supervisor Brown for her leadership in authoring this ordinance and for continuing San Francisco’s long history of fighting for women’s rights.”

Planned Parenthood Doctor Admits: Strong Demand for Aborted Babies’ Livers, Kidneys, Intestines

A Planned Parenthood doctor has revealed that there is a strong demand for aborted babies’ livers and kidneys from organizations that harvest the bodies provided by the abortion giant.

Dr. Thomas Moran was giving evidence in a lawsuit the organization has filed against David Daleiden and his colleagues over undercover videos that show Planned Parenthood senior executives negotiate over the sale of body parts from abortions.

Moran, who is a medical director of Planned Parenthood Southwest, San Diego, told the court about how he ended up being secretly recorded while talking to Daleiden and other undercover researchers at a Planned Parenthood Conference in 2015.

Moran agreed that the undercover researchers did not seek him out; rather, Moran and his colleagues approached the booth where Daleiden and his associates were posing as legitimate tissue and organ buyers. . .

Staffer Was Ready to Harvest Baby’s Body Parts During Late-Term Abortion but ‘the Baby Just Fell out’

Planned Parenthood called their third and fourth witnesses in the trial involving its lawsuit against the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) yesterday. As you are likely aware, Planned Parenthood sued CMP following the release of videos showing PP doctors haggling over the price of baby body parts.

The third witness was Adrian Lopez, who serves in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman in the Neonatal ICU at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. As part of his duties, Lopez cares for babies born at 21-22 weeks gestation—the same age as many of the babies whose organs are sold for profit. Planned Parenthood attorneys grilled Lopez for his role in the undercover videos, even though Lopez had little to do with the planning or execution of the sting operation. . .

During cross-examination, however, Lopez was able to share with the jury an incident involving a “procurement technician” who harvests organs from aborted babies:“There was mention of a woman, a patient being so dilated that when they get in the stirrups, the fetus falls out.”

Defendant Sandra Merritt testified regarding the same incident last week, saying “…she was standing out in the hallway waiting to harvest human body parts and that it was so quick, much faster. I think three minutes that — where she’s strapped in and ready for the abortion, but the baby just fell out. The stories themselves do not always overtly show the misogyny in sex selection – the stories are not all filled with women-hating men coercing their wives into abortions every time they’re pregnant with a girl. Yet, in a country that claims to value equality of the sexes, evidence has been found that a cultural valuing of males in some communities means girls are overwhelmingly targeted for abortion, especially if the family already has girls. Countries like China and India are dealing with this problem on wide-spread scale, but this is also a Canadian problem. Lawmakers Ask for DOJ Help on Fetal Remains Discovery: ‘This Case Has Countless Victims’

The following is an excerpt from Blaze Media’s daily Capitol Hill Brief email newsletter:

67 House Republicans called on the Justice Department Tuesday to assist in the investigation of thousands of fetal remains found at a deceased Midwest abortionist’s home.

“We write to you regarding the horrific discovery of more than 2,200 preserved human fetal remains on the Illinois property of the recently deceased abortionist Ulrich ‘George’ Klopfer, who practiced for decades in northern Indiana until 2015,” lawmakers wrote in a letter to Attorney General William Barr. “A careful and thorough investigation of this matter is necessary to ensure justice is done and to prevent such tragic situations from occurring in the future.”

The letter, spearheaded by Indiana Reps. Jackie Walorski and Jim Banks, also asks the Justice Department to look into state laws and practice regarding the disposal of human fetal remains in order to “aid Congress in examining potential legislative remedies to ensure human fetal remains are always treated with dignity.”

Federal Judge Blocks State Abortion Ban

A federal judge temporarily blocked Georgia’s abortion ban Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Steve Jones temporarily blocked the implementation of the law, which was scheduled to go into effect Jan. 1. Jones’s actions follow a June lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, and the Center for Reproductive Rights, according to WSB-TV Atlanta. . .

Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed H.B. 481, the “fetal heartbeat bill,” in March. It outlaws abortions in Georgia after a fetal heartbeat is detected and makes exceptions in cases of rape and incest if the woman files a police report, and when the mother’s health is at risk.

“We are currently reviewing Judge Jones’ decision,” Candice Broce, director of communications and deputy executive counsel for Kemp, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Despite today’s outcome, we remain confident in our position. We will continue to fight for the unborn and work to ensure that all Georgians have the opportunity to live, grow, and prosper.”

“Today is a tremendous victory for the women of Georgia and for the Constitution,” said ACLU of Georgia legal director Sean Young. “Politicians have no business telling women or couples when to start or expand a family. Judge Blocks State Law That Bans Abortions on Babies With Down Syndrome

A federal judge reversed his ruling about a Missouri pro-life law Friday by blocking a provision that prohibits discriminatory abortions on unborn babies with Down syndrome.

Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union challenged the state law, which includes multiple pro-life provisions including a ban on abortions after 8 weeks when an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable.

In August, U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs blocked the state from enforcing most parts of the law, but he allowed the non-discrimination measures to be enforced.

On Friday, however, Sachs issued a revised ruling blocking enforcement of the Down syndrome abortion ban as well.

“Sad news,” Samuel H. Lee of Campaign Life Missouri told LifeNews. “At the moment, Missouri will not be able to prevent the discriminatory abortions of unborn children with Down syndrome. Abortionist’s Horrifying Testimony: ‘No Question’ Babies Being Born Alive to Harvest Organs

Last week, a California abortionist testified under oath that there is “no question” abortionists are allowing babies to be born alive in order to harvest their organs, a report from LifeSiteNews revealed.

Testifying during a preliminary hearing in the criminal case against undercover journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt earlier in the month, Dr. Forrest Smith outlined gruesome details of the abortion business, of which he said Daleiden and Merritt only captured the “tip of the iceberg” with their shocking undercover videos.

“Smith testified that it is almost certain that some of the abortionists featured in the undercover videos deliberately altered abortion procedures in a way that both led to the birth of living babies with beating hearts, and put women at risk. The goal in these cases would be to obtain fresher, more intact organs,” LifeSiteNews reported.

Smith, who has reportedly preformed some 50,000 abortions, reviewed a video from the 2014 Planned Parenthood conference as an expert for the defense.

Alisa Goldberg, who presented the video, “spoke about using large doses of the drug misoprostol in order to carry out second-trimester induced abortions in one day rather than the four it usually takes,” Live Action reported. “Smith testified that this would lead to a live birth. Large doses of misoprostol, said Smith, would cause ‘tumultuous labor’ that leads to ‘fetal expulsion’ — meaning the baby would be born without any assistance from the abortionist and no instruments would be used. Why Did Abortion Doctor Keep 2,246 Fetal Remains? His Former Colleague Has a Horrifying Answer (VIDEO)

. . .Dr. Geoffrey Cly told CBS 2-Chicago that he served as a backup doctor for Ulrich George Klopfer, who died on September 3, and he described him as pathological and deceptive.

“It was shocking to me, taking some tissue, and in this case, fetal tissue home and saving them was just, something that never should be done, I’ve never heard of anybody doing that before,” Cly said. . .

“So here’s a guy who’s not trying to do the proper technique on a basic procedure, but yet can save fetal tissue in a very methodical, scientific, tracking way,” said Cly, referring to charges that led to Klopfer’s medical license being revoked.

“Especially with the documentation, and the putting them in formaldehyde and putting them in a box, absolutely some trophy-aspect,” Cly continued.

WATCH: Extremists Attack Pro-Life Activists, Brag Cops Won’t Help Them

In videos first posted by LifeNews, female pro-life sidewalk counselors and activists are seen harassed and forcibly pushed around by pro-abortion activists outside an abortion clinic in Bristol, Tennessee.

Holding a sign with an image of an aborted baby, a pro-life woman is confronted by a pro-abortion activist who repeatedly pushes against the woman’s sign and brags that the cops will not help her. Another activist ridiculed a pro-life woman who was offering to adopt children who are spared by abortion; the pro-abort called the pro-lifer a “childless b****” and told her that she’ll “never” have a baby in her empty womb.

“Stop pushing on my sign,” the pro-lifer tells the abortion activist in a video provided to LifeNews by A Cause for Christ president Sammi Cooper. The incident took place in August.

The pro-abort taunts the woman for being powerless against the harassment and intimidation, daring her to call the cops. “You know what they’ll do? Nothing,” she boasts.

The harassment of pro-life activists outside the abortion facility, according to provided video footage, appears to be persistent since at least August. A Cause for Christ activist Erika Schanzenbach told LifeNews the organization has witnessed “increasingly nasty behavior from the pro-abortion protesters in the past few months.”
