Planned Parenthood Just Had a Disappointing Supreme Court Win

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to issue a writ of certiorari to hear an appeal from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to dismiss a key abortion-related case. The writ to dismiss the underlying lawsuit was sought by David Daleiden’s group, the Center for Medical Progress.

The Hill reports:

The Center for Medical Progress had requested the Supreme Court toss out Planned Parenthood’s claims that they committed federal conspiracy and wiretapping violations. Planned Parenthood also claims that the Center for Medical Progress violated California law by fraudulently gaining access to its facilities. …

The Center for Medical Progress, led by activist David Daleiden, had argued it was exercising its First Amendment rights in making the videos. The group also claimed that the Planned Parenthood lawsuit was in violation of California “anti-SLAPP” laws, which prevent strategic legal action aimed at silencing individuals or groups.

The denial of a writ of certiorari confirms that Planned Parenthood’s suit against the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) in the Ninth Circuit will proceed in full. As CBS News states, “Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit alleges that CMP engaged in wire and mail fraud, committed illegal secret recording and trespassing. The pro-abortion rights group is accusing CMP of lying to the IRS and the state of California in order to illegally get tax-exempt status. It also says that CMP set up a fake health care firm and used fake IDs to register at a private medical conferences on reproductive health.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Just Had a Disappointing Supreme Court Win” HERE)

‘Unplanned’ Star Obliterates Alyssa Milano on Pro-Life Bill

Ashley Bratcher, star of the recently-released anti-abortion movie “Unplanned,” wrote a response to actress Alyssa Milano after Milano suggested that Hollywood might boycott Georgia over a bill banning abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Bratcher, who plays former Planned Parenthood executive turned pro-life advocate Abby Johnson in the movie, was nearly aborted herself and resides in Georgia, so she has some strong feelings on the topic.

“Well Alyssa, let me make something very clear to you,” Milano wrote. “In Georgia, we care just as much about being pro-life as being pro-film. We don’t believe in putting a price tag on the value of a human life. Our brave leaders have stepped up to say enough is enough, we will no longer sit idly by as innocent lives are taken by the thousands each day.” . . .

Milano attacked the bill as “the most anti-woman bill of its kind in the country” in a guest column for Deadline Hollywood, and suggested that if the bill passes, Georgia could lose some of the many film and television projects that boost its economy.

“To Georgia’s leaders: You have worked hard to showcase your state and bring in filming projects that have had a multiplier impact on your state’s economy, but these projects are not a given,” Milano wrote. “I urge you to think hard before making Georgia a state that is not welcoming of women. I urge you to defeat HB 481 and continue to be “The Hollywood of the South.” (Read more from “‘Unplanned’ Star Obliterates Alyssa Milano on Pro-Life Bill” HERE)

Senate Passes Bill to Ban Most Abortions Once Fetal Heartbeat Is Detected

The Georgia Senate passed legislation Friday to ban abortion on most babies once a fetal heartbeat can be detected, albeit with more exceptions than the version originally introduced in the state House.

House Bill 481’s original language states that “no abortion is authorized or shall be performed if the unborn child has been determined to have a human heartbeat,” except to save a mother from death or “serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function,” or if the pregnancy has been deemed “medically futile” (i.e., the child would die shortly after birth). The bill specifies that mental or emotional conditions do not qualify.

Earlier this month, Georgia Right to Life president Ricardo Davis called the measure, which was introduced alongside a trigger bill to automatically ban most abortions once Roe v. Wade is overturned, a “hopeful step toward the ultimate goal of adopting a ‘personhood’ amendment to the state constitution that will protect all innocent human life from fertilization through natural death.”

The measure passed the House 93-73 earlier this month, and a version passed the Senate on a 34-18, party-line vote Friday. The vote followed four hours of contentious debate, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

“I applaud the members who supported the heartbeat bill’s passage for protecting the vulnerable and giving a voice to those who cannot yet speak for themselves,” Republican Gov. Brian Kemp said. But despite Kemp’s campaign-trail pledge to enact the “toughest abortion laws in the country,” the Senate version is notably weaker than both the original House version and the heartbeat laws of other states. The Next Big Challenge to Roe v. Wade Is Brewing

Now that Donald Trump’s nominees have shifted the makeup of the Supreme Court, we’re starting to see what the next legal challenges to Roe v. Wade might look like.

Last week, federal judges blocked two Kentucky pro-life bills: one banning abortion based on sex, race, or a disability diagnosis (otherwise known as eugenics) and the other a heartbeat law. Also last week, a federal judge blocked an Ohio law banning dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion procedures. Indiana’s eugenics abortion ban was blocked by a federal judge and is still waiting to hear back from the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, other states are passing and considering new pro-life legislation at an impressive pace. Mississippi recently enacted a heartbeat law, banning most abortions after the fetal heartbeat can be detected, at about six weeks of pregnancy. Iowa put one in place last May. One is working its way through the Georgia legislature, along with others in Tennessee and Missouri. Utah’s governor recently signed a bill banning abortion based on a Down syndrome diagnosis, while a similar Arkansas measure is working its way up in Little Rock. A dilation and evacuation ban bill is being deliberated in North Dakota.

And, naturally, whenever a new pro-life bill becomes law, the abortion industry mounts a new legal offensive. When you’ve got multiple legal challenges in different circuits, you increase the chance that there’s going to be disagreement among the courts and therefore increase the likelihood that the issue will be taken up by the Supreme Court.

Between the number of heartbeat laws, anti-eugenics abortion bills, and D&E bans, the real question is which issue will get the chance to chip away at Roe v. Wade first.

With Justice Brett Kavanaugh now sitting in the seat vacated by Justice Anthony Kennedy, the unborn Americans’ odds at the Supreme Court are better than they’ve been in decades, though some serious pro-life concerns about Chief Justice John Roberts are now cropping up.

At National Review, David French makes the argument that now is the time to bombard the judicial branch with legal challenges to Roe v. Wade like these: “it’s time to throw down the gauntlet, declare to the world (and to the Court) that the era of incrementalism is over, and show that the people are ready to embrace life.”

The number of new laws passing may well signal that bombardment is under way. (For more from the author of “The Next Big Challenge to Roe v. Wade Is Brewing” please click HERE)

SHOCK VIDEO: Abortion Advocate Beats 85-Year-Old Man After Stealing His Pro-Life Sign

An elderly man at a peaceful pro-life prayer vigil outside a San Francisco-based Planned Parenthood abortion clinic was physically assaulted by an abortion advocate this month on two separate occasions, one of which was captured in disturbing video footage.

he man, aged 85, had his pro-life banner in support of the 40 Days for Life campaign stolen by an unidentified male abortion advocate. When the pro-lifer attempted to get his property back from the activist, he was severely beaten and threatened.

The video footage shows the thief, when first approached by the pro-lifer, throwing his bicycle at the 85-year-old, knocking him down to the ground. Then, while he’s on the pavement, the Planned Parenthood supporter continuously kicks him in the legs and back and shouts, “Old man, stay on the ground. Stay on the ground, old man, unless you wanna get hurt.”

Footage of two attacks — both this attack on the elderly man, and one attack on another pro-lifer that occurred just two days prior — was likely captured by surveillance cameras outside the Planned Parenthood facility. But the abortion giant reportedly will not cooperate in this regard with authorities, noted Life News.

According to the pro-life outlet, the same perpetrator “threw a sign, table and pro-life literature into the street” during a pro-life vigil with the San Francisco 40 Days for Life campaign two days before the attack. “He knocked two men to the ground during that incident as well, including the same elderly pro-lifer he attacked again on Thursday.”

U.S. Governor Introduces Bill to Let Non-Doctors Commit Abortions

The ability to commit abortions should be expanded from actual doctors to physician assistants and some types of nurses, according to a proposal introduced Thursday by Maine Gov. Janet Mills.

“Every woman in Maine should be able to access reproductive health care when and where she needs it, regardless of her ZIP code,” Mills declared, according to a WMTW report. “Allowing advanced nurse practitioners and physician assistants to perform medication-administered abortions, which are already permitted in other states, will ensure Maine women, especially in rural areas of our state, can access reproductive health care services.”

Democrat state House Speaker Sarah Gideon, who is sponsoring the bill, agreed, claiming that women in rural parts of the state “have been disproportionately harmed, where the sheer logistics of arranging for travel, taking time off work and securing child care create an often insurmountable barrier to accessing the full range of family planning services.”

Mills pushed for a similar measure last year as state Attorney General, and pro-abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood and the ACLU have tried to force the state to allow nurse practitioners and licensed midwives to commit abortions since at least 2017. Beto Reveals Support for 3rd Trimester Abortions

By Breitbart. Appearing Monday at a campaign stop in Cleveland, Ohio, 2020 Democrat candidate Beto O’Rourke said he believes it’s a woman’s right to decide whether she should undergo a third-trimester abortion, signaling he would not support government intervening to prevent the procedure.

Beto’s Rocky Rollout: O’Rourke Drawing Crowds and Cash, but Stumbles out of the Gate

By Fox News. Beto O’Rourke raised a whopping $6.1 million in his first 24 hours as a presidential candidate, while drawing big crowds — and a herd of reporters — as he campaigned across Iowa and Wisconsin after launching his 2020 bid.

But despite riding a wave of media fanfare, the former three-term congressman from Texas has stumbled out of the gate with a string of apologies and clarifications.

While the fundraising and large crowds show the charismatic contender is a force to be reckoned with in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, the series of missteps amount to signs that O’Rourke’s nascent campaign may need some fine-tuning — and fast.

In one widely covered gaffe, O’Rourke apologized for joking at several events on Thursday and Friday that his wife Amy had been raising the couple’s three children “sometimes with my help.”

Discussing the comments – amid concern they spotlighted gender stereotypes – O’Rourke promised, “not only will I not say that again, but I’ll be more thoughtful going forward in the way that I talk about our marriage.” (Read more from “Beto’s Rocky Rollout: O’Rourke Drawing Crowds and Cash, but Stumbles out of the Gate” HERE)

U.S. Town Becomes ‘Sanctuary City for the Unborn’

The City Council of Roswell, New Mexico passed a resolution Thursday declaring its jurisdiction to be in support of “fetal life,” something local pro-life activists say makes Roswell a “sanctuary city for the unborn.”

In a seven to one vote, with one council member abstaining, the City Council passed Resolution 19-28, which declares “that innocent human life, including fetal life, must always be protected and that Society must protect those who cannot protect themselves.”

The resolution also states that the City Council declares “its opposition to any diminution by the New Mexico Legislature of the limitations on abortion” and “honors the rights of healthcare providers to object on moral grounds to performing abortions and opposes any regulation or law seeking to violate that right.”

This week, the New Mexico Senate was considering a pro-abortion bill that would have forced doctors to commit abortions. It also would have repealed old, unenforced sections of the law criminalizing abortion – preparation for a possible overturning of Roe v. Wade. New Mexico is home to an infamous late-term abortion facility, Southwestern Women’s Options, and has some of the loosest abortion laws in the country. Southwestern Women’s Options commits abortions throughout the third trimester of pregnancy. (Read more from “U.S. Town Becomes ‘Sanctuary City for the Unborn'” HERE)

Megachurch Pastor Who Once Refused to Call Abortion Sin Switches Gears, Now Says It’s ‘Shameful and Demonic’

Carl Lentz, pastor at Hillsong Church NYC, is backtracking on comments concerning abortion that he made in 2017 on “The View.”

Previously, Lentz refused to call abortion by its name: sin. “God’s the judge,” Lentz told “The View” co-host Joy Behar after she asked him if he believed abortion is a sin. . .

Lentz uploaded an Instagram post in which he called abortion “shameful” and “demonic” on response to New York’s passage of a brutal abortion law that allows abortions after 24 weeks’ gestation. You can read more about the new law here.

“I spent hours talking to lawyers and people who hold opposing views on this issue,” he added. “Although it is layered and there is language in it that some are claiming will protect mothers in peril, the only way I can describe where we are and where this is all headed … is evil, shameful and demonic.”

Found this old photo recently, and I remember it taking me years to process that these LITTLE PEOPLE, had come into our world! A miracle, without a doubt. And I’m saddened and angry that we are now a state that has made it legal to have an abortion even into the last day of a pregnancy. I spent hours talking to lawyers and people who hold opposing views on this issue. Although it is layered and there is language in it that some are claiming will protect mothers in peril, the only way I can describe where we are and where this is all headed..is evil, shameful and demonic. I dont use those words lightly, but they are applicable here. Some have said this is strictly a “women’s rights issue.” i dont disagree. We simply believe that WOMEN IN THE WOMB deserve the right to life, deserve the right to breath. Laws like this say unless you have a voice, if somebody deems you “viable/non viable” you have no protection. Psalm 139, tells us otherwise. I have hope still, that God will help us raise our collective voices, to see this change. This cannot stand. …I know @hillsongnyc and many many other churches and organizations have been working hard for years to create options and help for those dealing with a pregnancy that is overwhelming for many reasons. And we will continue to do so. I’m also aware that often “pro-life politics”(while also supporting the death penalty, of course) have been quick to condemn abortion and the people that have them and then be invisible and hypocritical when it comes to helping women in need, in poverty, those who cannot gain access to proper medical care and creating policies that can help those that dont choose abortion. Those are facts. But this law, isn’t about politics. This is about generations of babies that have no defense. Despite this dark day, our future is STILL bright because we know where our help comes from. #occupyallstreets

Planned Parenthood Sends Woman to the Hospital, Demands Ambulance With ‘No Sirens’

Emergency 911 records recently obtained by Operation Rescue reveal that a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in the Frandor area of Lansing, Michigan, callously ordered an ambulance to run without sirens in an apparent attempt to keep the public from being alerted to a medical emergency that was unfolding inside the abortion business.

The Lansing Planned Parenthood, which is located in a strip mall, dispenses abortion-inducing drugs but does not conduct surgical abortions. It also provides post-abortion follow-up exams.

The call, which took place on March 15, 2018, indicated that a 38-year-old woman had fainted and hit her head hard on the floor. It appeared that the person who placed the 911 call was a bystander, and not on Planned Parenthood’s staff. . .

Before the address of the emergency or the condition of the woman could be given to the 911 dispatcher, the caller was heard saying, “No sirens! They said no sirens.” . . .

“The first thought, even before anything else, was to make sure the ambulance ran without sirens. A woman was laying on the floor dazed and vomiting, but ordering no sirens was Planned Parenthood’s first priority. Silent running is known to delay emergency responders from reaching the scene and getting timely help to the people who need it,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, which documents medical emergencies at abortion facilities.
