House Republicans To Investigate Biden’s Afghanistan Withdrawal

The House Foreign Affairs Committee is threatening to subpoena the State Department as part of a probe into the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, CNN first reported late Thursday.

Republican Texas Rep. Michael McCaul, the committee’s new chairman, requested a trove of documents from the State Department related to the withdrawal with a deadline of Jan. 26, CNN reported. He threatened to subpoena the department if it does not turn over the documents.

“It is imperative that the State Department provide complete responses to these longstanding requests, and the Committee will not tolerate continued delay,” McCaul wrote in a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to CNN. “In the event of noncompliance, the Committee will use the authorities available to it to enforce these requests as necessary, including through compulsory process.”

Among the questions McCaul reportedly lists in the letter are, “What is the U.S. Government’s current relationship with the Taliban?” and “What are the Administration’s intentions for rescinding and/or reprogramming foreign assistance in Afghanistan?” (Read more from “House Republicans to Investigate Biden’s Afghanistan Withdrawal” HERE)

Report: Pedo Afghan Refugee, Brought by Biden, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Boy

An Afghan national, brought to the United States as part of President Joe Biden’s massive resettlement operation over the last year, has been charged with violently attacking and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Shah Mahmood Selab, 35, was charged last week in federal court for alleged child sex crimes. An exclusive report by Fox News’s Adam Shaw reveals that Selab was brought to the U.S. by the Biden administration as part of a resettlement operation following the withdrawal of U.S. Armed Forces from Afghanistan in August 2021.

On August 21, according to federal prosecutors, Saleb approached the 12-year-old boy at a park near a middle school and started asking personal questions before showing him sexual photos and videos on his cellphone.

From there, prosecutors allege Selab touched the boy inappropriately and when the boy tried to walk away, he was chased by Selab who punched him in the face a number of times. Selab asked the boy to get into his car and offered him $20 to touch him. (Read more from “Report: Pedo Afghan Refugee, Brought by Biden, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Boy” HERE)

Biden Administration Intentionally Weakening Military: Retired General

When the United States acts, the world is always watching, and one of the loudest messages since President Joe Biden took office came from how the United States handled its withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.

What message did that send globally to other government leaders who may see America as an adversary? That was a question asked by Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, during a panel discussion Thursday about America’s role on the world stage at the Pray Vote Stand Summit in Atlanta hosted by FRC Action, the legislative affiliate of Family Research Council.

“I think that will go down in history as the worst foreign policy failure in U.S. history. Every decision that was made was wrong,” said Lt. General (Ret.) William Boykin, executive vice president at Family Research Council. “What did that say to the rest of the world? It said that we have weak leadership. And you have to ask yourself, why did Vladimir Putin refrain from attacking Ukraine during the Trump administration? And then he went in with barrels blazing, under the Biden administration, and I will tell you, I think a lot of that goes back to the weakness that people—both our adversaries and our friends—recognized in the Biden administration.”

Other countries recognize that the Biden administration is weak and indecisive on many issues, he said, not just how the U.S. military left Afghanistan.

Boykin mentioned Biden’s approach to the Paris climate change treaty and his efforts to get the United States back into the Iran nuclear deal, formally called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Bombshell Report: Biden Resettled ‘Not Fully Vetted’ Afghans in U.S. Who May ‘Pose Risk’ to Americans

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Inspector General (IG) has issued a bombshell report that accuses President Joe Biden’s administration of resettling Afghan nationals “who were not fully vetted” across the United States. . .

Now, a bombshell DHS IG report reveals that the Biden administration “admitted or paroled” thousands of Afghans “who were not fully vetted” before their arrival in the United States and may “pose a risk to national security” as a result.

The report states:

We determined some information used to vet evacuees through U.S. Government databases, such as name, date of birth, identification number, and travel document data, was inaccurate, incomplete, or missing. We also determined CBP admitted or paroled evacuees who were not fully vetted into the United States. [Emphasis added]

We attribute DHS’ challenges to not having: (1) a list of Afghan evacuees who were unable to provide sufficient identification documents; (2) a contingency plan to support similar emergency situations; and (3) standardized policies. As a result, DHS may have admitted or paroled individuals into the United States who pose a risk to national security and the safety of local communities. [Emphasis added]

Taliban Parades US Military Gear in Celebration of Afghanistan Withdrawal Anniversary

Taliban fighters on Wednesday paraded captured U.S. military vehicles and weaponry in celebration of the one-year anniversary of the United States’ withdrawal from the country.

At the Bagram air base, where a year earlier Afghan civilians died falling from U.S. military planes evacuating Kabul, the Taliban displayed a show of force, marching infantry and parading dozens of U.S. aircraft and vehicles.

The Taliban’s victory celebration comes a year to the date after President Joe Biden called his administration’s withdrawal a “success” and a “wise decision.”

Footage of the parade broadcast by Taliban media shows the jihadist force piloting American Black Hawk helicopters and driving Humvees and armored personnel carriers.

Joe Biden, Don’t Repeat Your Afghanistan Blunders in Iraq

No one who’s been following the news in Iraq since last year’s inconclusive parliamentary elections should be surprised to see violence currently erupting in Baghdad.

For months, various political factions have jostled unsuccessfully for a governing majority. Muqtada al Sadr, the volatile cleric who fueled much of the bloodshed in Iraq after the U.S. invasion, controls the most seats but not enough to form a governing coalition. This past weekend, he decided to turn up the heat.

On Saturday, al Sadr set a 72-hour time limit to resolve the crisis and insisted that all political actors leave the public stage to give way to a new generation. If this failed, he suggested violence would be the last recourse — including the forcible closure of Iraq’s oil fields. On Monday, he made good on the threat as the Green Zone erupted in fighting, and some of Sadr’s followers occupied oil facilities. While Sadr claims he is trying to restore order, he has clearly demonstrated the capability to create violent chaos in Baghdad, and what comes next is anyone’s guess.

While Americans have excellent reason to be wary of the endless political dysfunction and endemic corruption in Iraq, this threat brings into sharp relief the twin realities that demand attention: the potential for a dramatically heightened global energy crisis and the violent malign influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Some three and a quarter million barrels of oil a day flow out of Iraq. Major political disruptions will carry over and cause significant supply disruptions just as the world continues to struggle with international restrictions on Russian oil. Military Base Housing Afghan Refugees Became Covered in Feces and Displaced U.S. Soldiers, Employee Says

Following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan and the spectacular collapse of the U.S. military engagement there one year ago this month, tens of thousands of Afghans — frequently billed as being interpreters and other U.S.-aligned military heroes — were brought as refugees to military compounds in the U.S., where government officials called them “guests.”

Since then, that narrative has collapsed and raised questions about whether the readiness of the U.S. military is now being harmed in places like Fort Pickett, a Virginia base that houses the Army National Guard Maneuver Training Center and frequently hosts the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for training.

By October 2021, there were “approximately 5,900 Afghan guests on Fort Pickett. Fort Pickett has the capacity to temporarily house up to 10,000 guests,” a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson told The Daily Wire at the time.

A civilian who works on the base, speaking with The Daily Wire on condition of anonymity to protect his job, said the activity displaced army training and that the defense compound had turned into a feces-covered disaster site. “It’s normally a Reserves training compound, and as far as we understand, it’s impacting the schedule so it’s impacting their ability to train,” he said in a previously unreported October interview. “Last year at this time there were a lot of reserve units on the base, this year there aren’t any. There’s no room.”

“It’s putting a load on the soldiers who are supposed to be there doing training, they’re exasperated by the behavior of these people doing things like defecating everywhere, dropping trash whenever they’re done with it,” he said. “The camp where I’m working, there are several barracks-type buildings and a compound fenced in with barbed wire where we store different supplies like weapons and ammunition for the guys who train. All that got moved out,” he said, adding that Afghans were wandering out onto a firing range. Biden Admin Extending Immigration Benefits to Taliban-Connected Afghans

In the Biden administration’s supposedly “humane” policies toward immigration and asylum seekers — the same ones that have turned the U.S.-Mexico border into a deadly and violent mess of lawlessness that benefits only drug cartels and human traffickers — officials are also taking a softer position toward certain Taliban-affiliated individuals from Afghanistan who wish to come to the United States.

After the “most successful airlift in history” one year ago that saw 13 U.S. service members killed in an ISIS-K suicide bombing on August 26, 2021 and planeloads of unvetted Afghan refugees flown out of Kabul last summer, Biden wants to bring more Afghans to the United States. Including some with ties to the Taliban.

Back in June, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security and State Department unveiled new exemptions — via “congressionally provided discretionary authority” — to allow more Afghans to qualify for immigration benefits from the U.S. — asylum, refugee status, and Special Immigrant Visas (SIV).

According to a report from the Inspectors General of the Department of Defense, Department of State, and U.S. Agency for International Development, these exemptions would apply on a case-by-case basis to individuals who “would otherwise be barred from the United States.” (Read more from “Biden Admin Extending Immigration Benefits to Taliban-Connected Afghans” HERE)

Afghan Father Whose Teen Fell From U.S. Cargo Plane: ‘I Blame the Americans’

As the first anniversary of the disastrous US pullout from Afghanistan approaches, a victim of one of its most gruesome tragedies finally has a name.

Zabi Rezayee, 17, was one of the desperate civilians who clung to the landing gear and wheel covers of a US Air Force C-17 as it taxied down the runway of Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport on Aug. 16, 2021 — only to fall to his death on the tarmac, his father told the Sunday Times of London.

And Zabi’s brother Zaki, 19, who joined his attempted escape from the Taliban, has not been heard from since, said Mohammed Rezayee.

“I’m hurting, I’m angry, but there’s nothing I can do,” Rezayee, 42, said. “I’ve buried one son and I don’t even know if the other one is dead or alive.”

Horrifying cell-phone videos of the young men who grabbed hold of the giant cargo plane on take-off, then dropped helplessly to the ground as it gained altitude, gripped the globe as America’s war in Afghanistan came to its chaotic and ignominious end. Intel Official Who Signed Hunter Biden Letter Picked for Afghanistan Commission

The newest Democratic selection for the Afghanistan War Commission is an MSNBC pundit who was among dozens of former intelligence officials who signed a letter in October 2020 claiming without evidence that the Hunter Biden laptop story was part of a Russian operation.

The Democratic chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Washington Rep. Adam Smith, announced he had picked Jeremy Bash for the Afghanistan investigation Friday, with the biography for Bash noting he served as chief of staff at the Pentagon and chief of staff at the CIA during the Obama administration. Former CIA Director Leon Panetta, for whom Bash worked, also signed the letter.

Bash’s LinkedIn lists himself as the founder of Beacon Global Strategies and as a national security analyst at NBC News and MSNBC.

Despite offering no proof, Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign, along with many in the media, dismissed the laptop story as being a Russian disinformation operation. After the New York Post published emails belonging to his son, Joe Biden called the story “garbage” and part of a “Russian plan” during an October 2020 debate with then-President Donald Trump.
