‘I’m Done With You:’ WH Flack Shuts Down Reporter Asking About COVID Probe During Fauci’s Final Press Briefing

Dr. Anthony Fauci’s final White House press briefing descended into a near-shouting match Tuesday as he declined to comment on what he’s done to investigate the origins of COVID-19.

Fauci, 81, plans to retire next month after serving as the US government’s top infectious disease expert since 1984 and as President Biden’s chief medical adviser since last year.

“What have you done to personally investigate the origins of COVID?” Daily Caller reporter Diana Glebova attempted to ask Fauci, who has been a fixture at coronavirus briefings since March 2020.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who was moderating Fauci’s farewell Q&A, halted the briefing to reprimand Glebova — opening the floor for even more reporters to clamor for Fauci to answer the question.

“Hold on one second. We have a process here. I’m not calling out on people that yell. And you’re being disrespectful to your colleagues, and you’re being disrespectful to our guests,” Jean-Pierre scolded Glebova. Judge Orders Fauci, Psaki Deposed in Social Media Censorship Lawsuit

A federal judge has ordered Dr. Anthony Fauci and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki to be deposed for a lawsuit that claims top officials in the Biden administration colluded with social media companies to censor debate about the COVID pandemic and The Post’s expose on the Hunter Biden laptop.

Fauci, Psaki and other other administration officials — including Surgeon General Vivek Murthy — must testify about their communications with the tech companies as part of the lawsuit brought in May by Republican attorneys general Eric Schmitt of Missouri and Jeff Landry of Louisiana.

The attorneys general sought the testimony of Fauci, the chief medical adviser to President Biden, because of his high profile position and his public comments rejecting the theory that the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, as well as his claims about the efficacy of mask wearing.

“Plaintiffs urge that his comments on these important issues are relevant to the matter at hand and are further reasons why Dr. Fauci should be deposed,” US District Court Judge Terry Doughty wrote in his 28-page order issued on Friday. Dems Want to Imprison DeSantis for 10 Years for ‘Threatening’ Fauci (VIDEO)

Democrats are demanding jail for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for his rhetorical suggestion that someone grab the “little elf,” Anthony Fauci, and chuck him “across the Potomac.” . . .

But he’s now in the news, at RightJournalism, for the “threat” that came from DeSantis. . .

That’s a threat, Democrats now allege, presumably because it is physically possible for someone to grab Fauci and throw him across the Potomac.

The report explained DeSantis made the comment at a Florida GOP event in Seminole County, and now Democrats are demanding prosecutors use it to jail the governor.

“According to Dash Dobrofsky, it is illegal to threaten a public official with violence. In fact, it is a federal crime that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison,” the report said.

Fauci Says He Wants to Inspire ‘Younger Generation of Scientists and Would-Be Scientists’ Upon Retirement

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said he wants to inspire a new generation of scientists upon his retirement after decades of service in the federal government.

In an interview with The Atlantic in Washington .D.C., Fauci, 81, who has been praised and vilified during the pandemic as he became the face of the American government’s policies to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, talked about what life for him will be like in the coming months.

“I’m not going to retire in the classic sense,” he said. “How can I further contribute to society both domestic and global? At my age, I have a few more years to do something.”

“Having the experience I’ve had. I’ve been at the NIH (National Institutes of Health) for 54 years. I’ve directed the largest research institute for infectious diseases in the world for 38 years, what can I contribute? I think what I can contribute is the benefit of my experience to hopefully inspire the younger generation of scientists and would-be scientists,” he added. Fauci Mocked Diners for Taking off Masks at Table: Source

Dr. Anthony Fauci crassly mocked “ass-backwards” restaurant patrons who removed their coronavirus masks when seated — and laughed at the absurdity of his own idea for anti-COVID-19 goggles, according to a new book.

The inside account is included by former White House spokesman Brian Morgenstern in “Vignettes & Vino” — out Oct. 25 — which calls Fauci “awful” and an “egomaniac.”

“[I]n January 2020, [Fauci] said the virus was nothing to worry about for the American people. Then in the months that followed, he said that people should not wear masks and that they were ineffective. By June or July, he had changed his tune and said everyone should be very concerned and that they should wear multiple masks — and goggles,” Morgenstern wrote.

“I vividly recall my blood boiling during an infuriating meeting in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, when Fauci laughed about his own goggles comment, making it clear how cynical he was and that he could get people to believe anything,” the former aide continued.

“He went on to laugh about how ‘ass-backwards’ it was that people entered a restaurant wearing a mask, then sat down and conversed with people without a mask. Of course, he wasn’t saying things to that effect publicly, just laughing privately at the American rubes he was fooling.” (Read more from “Fauci Mocked Diners for Taking off Masks at Table: Source” HERE)

What a Joke: Fauci Says He Never Flip-Flopped, It Was Just ‘the Evolution of the Science’

Outgoing Dr. Anthony Fauci was against masking before he was for it.

He calls flip-flops like that the “evolution of the science.” He seems to think that anybody who questions his comments simply must not understand how the scientific theory works — but conservatives aren’t letting him get away with that sleight of hand.

On Monday night, Fauci told MSNBC, “With COVID, I mean, the things that we thought we knew in the beginning turned out, as the months went by, to not be the case, which really forced us to adapt and to change some of our policies and recommendations.”

“That was interpreted by many as flip-flopping, or not really knowing what’s going on,” he added. “When it really was the evolution of the science.”

In response, Buck Sexton, co-host of Clay & Buck tweeted, “No F-ing way, Fauci. Can’t let him pull this bulls***. He lied about his certainty in the ‘the science’ at every phase so he could please his lunatic fan base.”

Rand Paul Tells NIH to Retain Fauci Records

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is demanding that the National Institutes of Health retain documents connected to outgoing National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci as the lawmaker prepares to ratchet up his long-standing feud with the health official.

As a parting gift to Fauci, Paul vowed to carry on with his investigations into the doctor’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and allegations that he “funneled tax dollars to fund dangerous research in communist China.” The senator explained that the preservation of Fauci documents is critical for his investigation of the doctor.

“I formally request you ensure the preservation of all documents and communications within Dr. Fauci’s possession related to his tenure at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This information is critical to ensure that Congress has access to information necessary to conduct proper oversight,” Paul wrote in a letter to Lawrence Tabak, acting director of the NIH, as reported by the Daily Caller.

Fauci, 81, revealed Monday that he will be concluding his 38 years of service as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and his comparatively brief tenure as chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden in December. NIAID operates under NIH.

Rand Paul: Fauci’s Retirement Won’t Stop a ‘Full-Throated Investigation’

Dr. Anthony Fauci’s retirement will not stop a “full-throated investigation” into the origins of the Chinese coronavirus, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) warned on Monday following the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) announcing the end of his high profile roles come December.

Fauci, who also serves as the chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation and as chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden, announced on Monday that he will leave his roles in December “to pursue the next chapter of my career.”

While Fauci, 81, originally suggested he would leave his post at the end of Biden’s first term in office, his announcement moves up his retirement significantly to after the midterm elections, as Republicans hope to take control of both the House and Senate.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), however, warned that an early retirement will not stop Republicans in the House from putting the spotlight on Fauci as they investigate the origins of the coronavirus.

“Fauci’s resignation will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic. He will be asked to testify under oath regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak,” Paul stated:

Renowned Molecular Biologist Accuses Fauci of Lying to Congress About Gain-Of-Function Research

Rutgers University microbiologist Dr. Richard Ebright testified before the U.S. Senate Wednesday that top public health officials lied about dangerous gain-of-function (GoF) research experiments conducted in China.

Ebright testified that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other U.S. federal agencies funded research that fit the definition of GoF at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) without proper oversight. His claim directly contradicts those made by numerous public health officials, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Specifically, Ebright testified that research funded by federal agencies at the WIV in the 2010s violated an NIH pause on GoF research funding between 2014 and 2017. After the pause was lifted in 2017, Ebright claimed that GoF projects which continued did not properly go through the agency’s regulatory process for oversight.

NIH and other federal agencies funded various experiments in the 2010s at the WIV which made bat-based coronaviruses more dangerous by increasing their fatality and infectiousness. According to the strict definition of GoF research, those experiments should’ve fallen under the GoF oversight process or been banned by the funding moratorium. WATCH: Fauci Has the Audacity to Say His ‘Common Sense’ Advice ‘Saved Millions’

Conservative Twitter users reacted in disgust after National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci stated that he only ever gave “common sense” medical advice that saved “millions of lives” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fauci’s comments came during Tuesday’s episode of CNN’s “New Day,” after host John Berman prompted Fauci with a quote from Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., insisting that if the GOP gains a congressional majority after the midterm elections, “we will subpoena his [Fauci’s] records and he will testify in the Senate under oath.”

He commented that Republican are accusing him of “bizarre” things. “They are talking about things that are really bizarre, John, like crimes against democracy by shutting down the government,” he claimed.

Fauci insisted that everything he ever did or recommended while being the face of the fight against COVID-19 was share common-sense guidance.

“All I have ever done – and go back and look at everything I’ve ever done – was to recommend common-sense, good CDC-recommended public health policies that have saved millions of lives,” the doctor declared, before reiterating, “If you want to investigate me for that, go ahead.”
