Valerie Jarrett Meets With Black Lives Matter Leaders at the White House

130117_valerie_jarrett_ap_605President Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett met with Black Lives Matter activists yesterday at the White House, the latest sign that the Obama administration is involved with the controversial protest group.

Jarrett met with three organizers for Campaign Zero. DeRay Mckesson, Brittany Packnett, and Johnetta Elzie as well as Phil Agnew of the Dream Defenders and Jamye Wooten, an organizer for Baltimore United for Change were there, according to a senior White House official who confirmed the visit to Buzzfeed . . .

“Great meeting, Brittany. Truly appreciate your leadership!!” Jarrett [said] on Twitter. Packnett has six recorded entries of visiting the complex long before the protests in Ferguson. She also was among the select group of Ferguson activists that met with Obama in December 2014. “I could tell he is taking this very personally,” Packnett explained after the 45 minute meeting with the president in the Oval Office. “He wants to see some clear, thoughtful action come from this.”

She also revealed that Obama sympathized with the movement, thanks to his background as a community organizer in Chicago.

“He offered us a lot of encouragement with his background as a community organizer, and told us that even incremental changes were progress,” she told reporters after the meeting. “He didn’t want us to get discouraged. He said, ‘Keep speaking truth to power.’” (Read more from “Valerie Jarrett Meets With Black Lives Matter Leaders at the White House” HERE)

Nobel Panel Saw Obama Peace Prize as ‘Mistake,’ New Book Claims

peaceprize_c0-34-2590-1543_s561x327The former director of Norway’s Nobel Institute revealed this week that he regrets the committee’s decision to give the 2009 Nobel Peace award to President Obama.

Geil Lundestad, director at the institute for 25 years, said in his just-published memoir that he and the committee had unanimously decided to grant the award to Mr. Obama just after his election in 2009 more in hopes of aiding the American president to achieve his goals on nuclear disarmament, rather than in recognition of what Mr. Obama had already accomplished . . .

“[We] thought it would strengthen Obama and it didn’t have this effect,” he told the Associated Press in an interview.

The award so early in his term appeared to take the Obama White House by surprise, and Mr. Lundestad said U.S. officials privately asked if a Nobel Prize-winner had ever skipped the awards ceremony.

Normally the Nobel committee’s decision regarding recipients remains private, and Mr. Lundestad’s frank and revealing remarks regarding internal decisions have caused a stir in Norway, detailing the politicking and compromises that have gone into determining the annual laureate. How Obama Bullies a Weak Republican Congress

whitehouseobamatoastObama’s position has been straightforward, at least privately. He will do whatever he wants and no one will stop him. He has repeatedly defied Congress and the courts to do so.

While he plays the game of giving speech in which he demands that Congress do X or Y, it’s in practice shut out of the process. Here’s how it worked on the Iran Deal.

Obama made it clear to Democrats in Congress that he would implement the deal no matter what. The Republican leadership by now has gotten the message. The message is that Congressional voters are irrelevant. They don’t affect policy unless the dictator-in-chief allows them to.

That reduces all such votes to positioning. Gestures. Some are more meaningful than others, but barring impeachment proceedings, they don’t really matter.

Obama illegally allocates money, goes to war, makes treaties and makes appointments while bypassing the Senate. In such an environment, you either defy or you appear to defy. Compromise is irrelevant because Obama doesn’t compromise. Not even with fellow Democrats. (Read more from “How Obama Bullies a Weak Republican Congress” HERE)

Watch: Iran Just Spit in Obama’s Face With This Stunning Video Threat- Will He Respond?

Obama_APIran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei continued his heated, anti-U.S. social media campaign on Sunday by releasing a video promising death and destruction to American forces if any military action is taken against his country.

On Sunday, the Iranian leader tweeted the link to a video entitled, “If any war happens.”

The video opens by quoting President Obama from an interview he gave assuring those who have any doubts about the Iran nuclear agreement that the military option is always on the table. “We could knock out their military with speed and dispatch, if we chose to,” said Obama.

An image of the White House appears next with the Ayatollah’s voice in the background stating, “A U.S. official has said that he can destroy Iran’s army. I do not want to say anything more in this regard.”

The video then depicts two cowboys, apparently representing the United States, with an Iranian fighter in the foreground pulling a knife on them. Khameni says, “Our predecessors used to call such statements, ‘boasting among strangers.’”

Next, the video shows images of Iran’s military arsenal, which it has at its disposal to attack U.S. naval and ground forces. (Read more from “Watch: Iran Just Spit in Obama’s Face With This Stunning Video Threat- Will He Respond?” HERE)

Clinton Takes Tough Shot at Obama [+video]

1402956532996.cachedDeep in the transcript of the interview ABC’s David Muir conducted with Hillary Clinton yesterday comes an indirect but very tough shot at the man she worked for and hopes to replace. In the course of answering a question about her mother, Clinton described her mother’s difficult upbringing and praised her for her hard work. Her mother’s experience, she said, and those struggling to get ahead today, inspire her presidential run.

“I’m gonna fight for all the people like my mother who need somebody in their corner,” Clinton said, before adding: “And they need a leader who cares about them again.”

Watch: Trump Just Hit Obama Right Where It Hurts in 14 Seconds

Donald-Trump-Quits-Celebrity-Apprentice-to-Run-for-US-President-476240-2Donald Trump posted a new video on Instagram Wednesday hitting the Obama administration over the Iranian nuclear deal, which the presidential candidate describes as “terrible.”

The video begins with audio from President Obama announcing the deal as: “A powerful display of American leadership and diplomacy shows what we can accomplish when we lead from a position of strength. Iran could move closer to a nuclear bomb.” (See video below).

Photos appear of the four U.S. hostages held by Iran: Christian pastor Saeed Abedini, former Marine Amir Hekmati, Washington Post Iran Bureau Chief Jason Rezaian and retired FBI Agent Robert Levinson.

A terrible deal with Iran!

A video posted by Donald J. Trump (@realdonaldtrump) on

Trump told Sean Hannity after the deal was announced in July that if he had been negotiating it, release of the prisoners would have been a prerequisite to even starting the talks.

The author of the 1980s runaway New York Times bestseller “The Art of the Deal” said with the United States having the leverage of tens of billions in frozen funds Iran wanted, negotiating a good deal would have been “such simple thing to do.” He added, “The whole thing is a disgrace that a deal like this could be signed…This is amateur night, I’ve never seen anything like it.” (Read more from “Watch: Trump Just Hit Obama Right Where It Hurts in 14 Seconds” HERE)

Cop Union Boycotted Obama Speech in Boston

barack-obama-reelu-pour-4ansBy Thomas Lifson. Anger over President Obama’s many snubs (from the Cambridge Police “acted stupidly” to Ferguson and beyond) has reached a boiling point among cops. As he speaks this morning at a Labor Day breakfast in Boston, President Obama is being boycotted by police unions. Jack Encanacao writes in the Boston Herald:

Jerry Flynn, a Lowell cop on leave while serving as executive director of the New England Police Benevolent Association, said his organization’s executive board has chosen to boycott President Obama’s Labor Day breakfast address in Boston today to make a statement about violence against police:

“Our members are enraged at his lack of support of law enforcement. It’s clear that he has an agenda, and unfortunately the police are not part of his agenda.

Let’s face it, (there have been) eight people killed in a nine-day period, eight police officers, and his silence up until recently has been deafening. And the real sad part of this — and when I went to the White House in the first term with (Vice President) Joe Biden — he said to me that he would be the voice of law enforcement. Well, as much as I love and adore Joe, his voice has been silent as well. So it’s not an Obama problem, it’s an administration problem.

Warning for CO Police After Threat, Shots Fired

By Whitney Wild. A threatening call followed by shots fired toward police in Aurora Sunday prompted a safety advisement for officers in Colorado.

According to a warning sent to law enforcement Monday, a caller contacted Aurora 911 dispatch around 5:45 p.m Sunday via a disconnected Cricket cell phone. The male caller sounded as if he was attempting to disguise his voice, or was possibly using a recording, the warning said.

The call lasted 37 seconds, and the caller reportedly said “It’s time you guys know that we are no longer playing around with the police departments. Aurora and Denver we are about to start striking fear, shooting down all cops that we see by their selves.”

The caller went on to say, “You guys are evicting innocent people. Let us catch you by yourself and it’s shots fired.”

Approximately four hours later, Aurora police officers “were fired upon while responding to a call,” the warning said. It is unclear if the shooting was an ambush situation. (Read more from “Warning for CO Police After Threat, Shots Fired” HERE)

Has Obama Widened the Racial Divide?

130523_barack_obama_speech_ap_605Americans hoped the election of the first black president in 2008 would help heal the racial division that has plagued this country for much of its history, but nearly half of voters think just the opposite has occurred.

Only 20% of Likely U.S. Voters believe President Obama has brought Americans of different races closer together, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Forty-seven percent (47%) think Obama has driven those of different races further apart instead. Twenty-seven percent (27%) say his words and actions have had no major impact either way.

Forty-four percent (44%) of black voters feel the president has brought us closer together, but just 16% of whites and 21% of other minority voters agree. Most whites (54%) believe Obama has driven the races further apart, a view shared by only 21% of blacks and 38% of other minority voters.

Perhaps the most visible manifestation of racial division these days is the growing tension between the police and black Americans, especially those in the inner city. Following the recent murders of police officers in Texas and Illinois, 58% of voters think there is a war on police in America today.

Some have criticized the president for his comments about the police following incidents involving white police officers and black suspects. Sixty percent (60%) of voters believe comments critical of the police by some politicians make it more dangerous for police officers to do their jobs. Here’s the Percentage of Republicans Who Believe Obama Is a Muslim

obama-bowing-to-islam54 percent of Republicans believe that President Barack Obama is a Muslim, according to a poll conducted by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling (PPP) . . .

Obama’s faith first came into question during his 2008 campaign. His connections to Bill Ayers, a self-described unrepentant terrorist, and Jeremiah Wright, whose anti-American rhetoric in church made headlines, fueled the perception that Obama was a Muslim. However, Obama has made comments discussing his Christian faith, specifically during Easter and Christmas, The Hill noted.

Moreover, only 29 percent of Republicans believe that the commander-in-chief was born in the United States, an issue that was heavily promoted by Donald Trump in 2011. As for Canadian born GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz, 40 percent of Republicans say he was born in America.

Donald Trump received the highest grades among the 17 Republicans running for the presidential nomination. The New York business mogul nabbed 29 percent of the vote, retaining his first place position. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson of Maryland was in second, with 15 percent. GOP establishment favorite Jeb Bush of Florida finished in third, with nine percent. Carly Fiorina, one of two women running for the presidency, finished fourth with eight percent support. Obama Finally Breaks His Silence on Slain Texas Cop, but Ignores Something Huge

shutterstock_165732764-913x512The increasingly violent tone of national rhetoric that a Texas sheriff recognized as a contributing factor in the murder of one of his deputies was left unaddressed in a White House statement regarding last Friday’s murder of Deputy Darren Goforth.

President Obama’s Monday night statement expressed official regrets at the incident.

“Targeting police officers is completely unacceptable – an affront to civilized society,” the statement said. “As I said in my State of the Union Address, we’ve got to be able to put ourselves in the shoes of the wife who won’t rest until the police officer she married walks through the door at the end of his shift.

“That comfort has been taken from Mrs. Goforth,” the statement continued. “So we must offer her our comfort – and continue to stand up for the safety of police officers wherever they serve.”

The statement did not address the wider context of the shooting, as America debates the degree to which the Black Lives Matter movement is serving as an instigator for violence. Other voices have done so.

Joseph Evans, Jr., the former vice chairman and executive director of the Jefferson County, TX, Republican Party, released a video that called for a level of reaction Obama did not take. (Read more from “Obama Finally Breaks His Silence on Slain Texas Cop, but Ignores Something Huge” HERE)
