Watch: Carson Says Trump Is Becoming More Spiritual

After finally clinching the GOP presidential nomination, Donald Trump is getting more spiritual. That is, according to Ben Carson, a top surrogate and possible vice presidential pick for the businessman’s campaign.

“I know that he has prayed — I have eyewitness,” Carson said in a Facebook Live interview with The Hill Friday.

But when Carson, who is deeply Christian, was asked if he had ever personally witnessed Trump in prayer, he admitted he had only heard that Trump has started to pray more often.

“I have not seen him [pray], but I have eyewitnesses who have,” he said. “And I think he’s starting to move more in that direction. I think that’s a good thing.”

Carson said Trump is moving to a place in which he believes in a “greater power.” The retired neurosurgeon also said he told Trump last week that he believes “God is using him.” (Read more from “Carson Says Trump Is Becoming More Spiritual” HERE)

Dr. Ben Carson’s Shocking Announcement on Trump’s Vice Presidential Pick

(Editor’s note: links to the other top stories are below) Ben Carson added more fuel to the fire of suspicion about Donald Trump’s conservative bona fides, when he suggested the presumptive GOP nominee’s running mate could be a Democrat.

Trump tapped Carson to head up a committee, which will make recommendations to the candidate who would best to fill the vice president slot.

Carson told the Wall Street Journal, in an interview published Thursday night, among those choices could be a Democrat.

Trump’s former GOP rival also took himself out of the running for the No. 2 spot saying, “I’m not interested in doing that for a number of reasons,” he said. “I don’t want to be a distraction. I’m sure you remember how crazy the media was about me, I don’t want to be a distraction, it’s too important a time in our life” . . . .

In an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier Thursday night, [Trump] added that he would prefer that person to have experience moving legislation through Congress, which would seem to eliminate most of the potential gubernatorial possibilities. He specifically stated South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is not under consideration and strongly suggested Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is not either.

Fox News digital politics editor Chris Stirewalt named someone who would check both the Democrat and congressional experience boxes: former Virginia Senator and presidential candidate Jim Webb. “I would say that the correct running mate for Donald Trump, and I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, is Jim Webb. Military experience. Democrat. Bi-partisan,” Stirewalt said on Fox Radio Wednesday. (Read more from “Ben Carson Just Made This Major Announcement About Trump’s Vice Presidential Pick” HERE)

Trump Makes Announcement About Ben Carson

Ben Carson, whose outsider candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination flared briefly in 2015 before limping to a conclusion this spring, will play a role in selecting presumptive GOP-nominee Donald Trump’s vice president.

Trump told the New York Times on Wednesday that he does not plan to pick a running mate until July and will have in place a collaborative process to select the right person. Trump also noted he would be looking for a vice president with a political background to “get things done” in Washington.

“I’ll set up a committee, and that I will do soon,” Trump said. “I think on the committee I’ll have Dr. Ben Carson and some other folks” . . .

Carson said the Trump campaign can win over African-American voters . . .

He also said the challenge of defeating likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton will unite Republicans.

“You would have thought that after 2012 we would have learned the lesson, but we didn’t,” Carson said. “But now we just have some bigger wounds that have to be healed, but I think that the healing balm — the sap, the ointment — will be Hillary Clinton. When people begin to think about her and what she represents and the progressive ideology and how it’s going to destroy our financial underpinnings and our position in the world and empower our enemies.” (Read more from “Trump Makes Announcement About Ben Carson” HERE)

Ben Carson Reveals Dark, DIRTY Secret of the Establishment [+video]

Throughout the 2016 Republican presidential primary, the Republican establishment has been accused of a multitude of things, some ridiculous, others terrifyingly true.

Former GOP contender Dr. Ben Carson recently came forward and accused the establishment of trying to choose which candidate would be the nominee, something that the American people aren’t too happy about.

“I think that they think they’re fair, but no, I don’t think so,” Carson stated, according to The Hill. “I think they try to pick and choose who the candidate should be. They focus attention and help to certain people. Other people, they try to ignore.”

The Republican National Committee has waffled back and forth on the issue of whether or not billionaire businessman Donald Trump would be “allowed” to be the party’s nominee. Some establishment figures have said they will support him, but others have indicated that at a contested convention they would abandon him and nominate someone they like.

“All of these pundits and big-time political players need to stop for a moment and say, ‘Do we really care about what the people want?’” Carson explained. (Read more from “Ben Carson Reveals Dark, DIRTY Secret of the Establishment” HERE)

Ben Carson Reveals the Crucial Advice He’s Giving Trump – It May Put Him Over the Top

Former Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson has received criticism for his decision to endorse front-runner Donald Trump.

Carson asserts he has been able to convince Trump — at least in flashes — to act more presidential.

In a phone inverview Friday, Carson said, “I’ve had talks about being presidential, about toning it down a bit, appealing to a broader group of people. You did notice that he wasn’t nearly as caustic in the last debate. People appreciated that. It’s a matter of cultivating and capitalizing on that.”

Following an incident earlier this week, when Trump attacked Cruz for distributing a racy photo of Melania, Carson conceded Trump’s instincts could not be permanently contained.

This incident resulted in Trump retweeting an unfavorable photo of Heidi Cruz and his threat to “spill the beans.” Cruz responded, calling Trump a “sniveling coward” and saying he was going to beat Trump for the nomination.

Calling the incident a broader craving for public gladiatorial combat among politicians, Carson admitted to dealing with the same issues while he was in the race, saying, “We have all these serious things. Nobody wanted to hear that. We want to hear juicy stuff … Maybe it’s just human nature.” (Read more from “Ben Carson Reveals the Crucial Advice He’s Giving Trump – It May Put Him Over the Top” HERE)

Whoopi Goldberg to Ben Carson: Why Support ‘Racist’ Trump? ‘That’s How Hitler Got In’

Thursday on ABC’s “The View,” former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson defended his endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump against co-host Whoopi Goldberg’s charges of racism and sexism.

Whoopi Goldberg asked, “Sir, I hate to ask this question, but you have aligned yourself with a man who has bashed women, made countless racist remarks, and you’re Ben Carson. Why would you — why would you align yourself with that is this this?”

Carson answered, “Well, you know, you have to look at the good and the bad. There’s no perfect person.”

Goldberg said, “No, I know that.”

Carson continued, “But you look at when Donald Trump first went down to Palm Beach area and a lot of the clubs down there would not accept Jews and Blacks. He insisted on Jews and Blacks and helped to break that open. So, has he said some things that I wouldn’t say or that you wouldn’t say? Of course.” (Read more from “Whoopi Goldberg to Ben Carson: Why Support ‘Racist’ Trump? ‘That’s How Hitler Got In'” HERE)

Something BIG Was Just Revealed About Trump and Carson That Might Surprise a Lot of People

Former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson stunned many when he endorsed Donald Trump for president. Just a few days later, Carson admitted he would not only be advising Trump during the presidential campaign, but could also play a possible role in a Trump administration.

Many speculated this would mean a cabinet position for the retired neurosurgeon, who has displayed a wealth of knowledge both in medicine and education. Yet it seems these speculations might have underestimated Carson.

Today it was announced that members of Carson’s campaign team are planning to meet in Palm Beach, Fla., to discuss the possibility of a Trump/Carson ticket.

The meeting, which will take place March 29, will include Ben Carson Jr., former Carson campaign chairman Robert Dees, ex-campaign manager Ed Brookover, treasurer Logan Delaney, and former senior adviser Mike Murray.

Brookover has recently joined the Trump campaign to lead a “delegate selection team,” suggesting the two sides have a strong working relationship.

According the multiple sources, the group will discuss a vice-presidential push as well as what to do with the 700,000-member mailing list Carson’s campaign compiled. (Read more from “Something BIG Was Just Revealed About Trump and Carson That Might Surprise a Lot of People” HERE)

Right After Trump Earns Carson’s Endorsement, He Gets Huge News From This Conservative Icon

While Thursday night’s debate performances provided reporters with some substantive content, much of the political news coverage on Friday focused on the notable endorsements picked up this week by the top two GOP presidential candidates. Ahead of Tuesday’s important primaries in Ohio and Florida, prominent Republicans of all stripes began to officially name their favorite between Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Cruz added some diversity to his list of endorsements with nods from the likes of the Black Conservatives Fund, and Meghan McCain, political commentator and daughter of Arizona Sen. John McCain. Cruz wrapped up the week by securing the support of the National Review editorial board and conservative talk radio host Mark Levin.

Trump has also amassed some notable endorsements this week, including one-time rival Dr. Ben Carson. Shortly after the retired neurosurgeon formally announced his pick, Trump received the endorsement of longtime conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly.

At a campaign event Friday in St. Louis, the 91-year-old Schalfly introduced Trump with a few remarks explaining why he is her choice.

She said the brash billionaire “has the courage and energy” needed to “bring some changes.” (Read more from “Right After Trump Earns Carson’s Endorsement, He Gets Huge News From This Conservative Icon” HERE)

Ben Carson Just Revealed Who He’s Endorsing

Days after former GOP presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina made her endorsement of Ted Cruz official, another one-time contender has made a decidedly less formal pronouncement of support for unconventional front-runner Donald Trump. Dr. Ben Carson, who enjoyed a tentatively cordial relationship with Trump during the first leg of the election season, said in a Fox News Radio interview on Thursday that he is “leaning” toward endorsing the brash billionaire.

When Carson began surging in the polls late last year, however, the friendship soured as Trump repeatedly and emphatically challenged his rival’s autobiography.

In attempting to make the case for Trump, Carson did not rely on public statements. Instead, he tried to reassure concerned voters that Trump is not always the controversial character they see during debates and campaign rallies.

“There are two Donald Trumps,” the retired neurosurgeon declared.

One, he explained, is the “entertainer” Americans see “on television” and “in front of big audiences.”

In private, however, Carson described “a thinking individual” who is ready to admit that “he doesn’t have all the answers.” (Read more from “Ben Carson Just Revealed Who He’s Endorsing” HERE)

See Just How Many GOP Presidential Candidates Have RSVP’D to Carson’s Private Meeting Request

Dr. Ben Carson has requested an imminent meeting with the rest of the Republican presidential contenders — but so far no one has RSVP’d to his invitation.

Ahead of the Super Tuesday results, Carson’s campaign announced that as the doctor was “concerned with the lack of civility currently being displayed” in the Republican presidential contention, he called for a private meeting of all of the candidates ahead of the Fox News GOP debate in Detroit on March 3.

“A house divided cannot stand, and it is imperative the Republican Party exhibit unity by the candidates coming together with a pledge to talk about the many serious problems facing our country, instead of personally attacking each other,” Carson said Tuesday afternoon.

However, by late Tuesday night, his campaign said not a single candidate had responded to his request . . .

Carson didn’t fare too well during Super Tuesday, but nonetheless, the retired neurosurgeon vowed to stay in the presidential race “as long as he continues to receive revenue and support of ‘We the People,’” a campaign official told TheBlaze Tuesday night.
