Beto O’Rourke Loses Texas Governor Bid in Third Failed Election in a Row

Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke lost his race for Texas governor against incumbent Republican Greg Abbott, Fox News reported.

Abbott will remain governor for a third term, according to Fox News. O’Rourke lost his Senate campaign in 2018 to Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and his presidential campaign in 2020.

Cook Political Report predicted the race would “likely” be handed to a Republican.

Reuters Forced to Fact-Check Claims That Beto O’Rourke Caught Monkeypox

Reuters was forced to fact-check claims that Texas gubernatorial candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D) had contracted monkeypox after the former congressman announced he was taking some time to recover from an undisclosed illness. . .

The majority of people responded to the news by wishing O’Rourke a speedy recovery. However, shortly after he made the announcement, a few people began to tweet their (unfounded) suspicions that the Texas politician was actually recovering from monkeypox.

“Has anyone in the media even asked Beto O’Rourke who he got monkeypox from?” @PartymanRandy tweeted. “If a Republican had to suspend their campaign due to monkeypox, you know the media would demand every detail. But since it’s Beto O’Rourke who has monkeypox, they aren’t even curious.”

Despite the lack of any evidence confirming the rumor, enough people began spreading it that Reuters stepped in and published a fact check stating that the claims were false. (Read more from “Reuters Forced to Fact-Check Claims That Beto O’Rourke Caught Monkeypox” HERE)

Tucker Carlson Has Some Thoughts About Zelensky’s Vogue Photoshoot (VIDEO)

Fox News’s Tucker Carlson called out Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday for being the Beto O’Rourke of Ukraine after the wartime leader got the Vogue treatment.

Carlson pointed out that Democratic and Republican lawmakers seem to agree that U.S. borders don’t matter but Ukraine’s are somehow “holy,” which justifies sending billions in aid to the country as Americans struggle with inflation. . .

“He really is the Beto O’Rourke of Ukraine,” Carlson commented. “This is real video uploaded by ‘Vogue’ on Instagram. Watch.”

“It’s all pretty insulting to the thousands of Ukrainians who have died and to the U.S. taxpayer who is funding all of this,” Carlson said. “But Ukraine has gotten away with it because, with the complicity of the American media, they have from day one waged a fierce information war. They lied about the Ghost of Kyiv, they lied about the island where the troops told the battleship to F off. They keep lying. Now, you know, they can lie all they want, but why are we still funding this?”

WATCH: Beto DOES Want to Take Your AR-15s

Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke (D) has leaned heavily into not just banning AR-15s and similar types of modern sporting rifles but also the confiscation of said firearms, even before the the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

During a campaign stop in San Angelo a few days before the shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead, O’Rourke said he does not believe people who already own AR-15s should be able to keep them.

“Not only should no one be able to purchase an AR-15 or AK-47 because they’re designed to kill humans and that high impact, high velocity round will just tear up everything inside you, you’ll bleed out before we can get you back to life, but I don’t think that the people who have them right now in civilian use should be able to keep them,” O’Rourke said.

Beto 2.0: ‘I’m Not Interested in Taking Anything From Anyone’

Texas Democrat gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke appeared to back off his pledge to take away AR-15s on Tuesday, suggesting instead that he is “not interested in taking anything from anyone.”

KLTV quoted O’Rourke speaking in Tyler, Texas, talking about defending the Second Amendment and saying, “I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone.”

But O’Rourke still criticized constitutional carry, saying:

I want to make sure that we protect our fellow Texans far better than we’re doing right now. And that we listen to law enforcement, which Greg Abbott refused to do. He turned his back on them when he signed that permitless carry bill that endangers the lives of law enforcement in a state that’s seen more cops and sheriff’s deputies gunned down than in any other.

Beto O’Rourke Doubles Down on Vow to ‘Take Your AR-15, Your AK-47’

Former Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke reiterated his vow to “take your AR-15, your AK-47” if he’s successful in his bid to become governor of Texas.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” O’Rourke was asked by host Dana Bash if he stands by the pledge he made during a Democratic presidential debate in September 2019.

“I still hold this view,” he said in the Sunday interview.

“Look, we are a state that has a long, proud tradition of responsible gun ownership. And most of us here in Texas do not want to see our friends, our family members, our neighbors shot up with these weapons of war. So yes, I still hold this view,” O’Rourke said. (Read more from “Beto O’Rourke Doubles Down on Vow to ‘Take Your AR-15, Your AK-47’” HERE)

WATCH: Biden Wants to Put Beto in Charge of Gun Control?

Last night, Allahpundit speculated that if Biden had cut a deal with Pete Buttigieg to get him to step aside before today’s cascade of delegates being awarded, it would probably involve making him the head of Housing and Urban Development. In terms of the way business normally gets done in the swamp, that’s not a bad bet. After all, it’s the department where you can stick almost anyone and they won’t wind up doing too much damage even if they majorly mess up.

But what about Beto O’Rourke? For some reason, he was on the stage last night endorsing Uncle Joe as well. Does he get some sort of consolation prize for hopping on the “moderate” bandwagon and helping to defeat Bernie Sanders? When the Big Reveal arrived last night, Biden offered a hint as to what the future may hold for the failed Senate and presidential candidate. O’Rourke will “take care of the gun problem” in the country.

What does that even mean? Gun control is a law enforcement issue. Could Biden actually be considering putting O’Rourke in as Attorney General? Looking over his resume, you will find that Beto has just about the least qualifications imaginable for such a position. He was an English major in college and worked a series of what were basically odd jobs before becoming a perennial candidate for public office. Even in Congress, none of the committees he sat on had anything to do with gun control or any other law enforcement activities. In reality, the sum total of O’Rourke’s involvement with the law was being arrested for burglary and fleeing the scene of his DUI accident.

Dems Get Crushed in Special Election That Was Supposed to Open Door to ‘Defeat Trump in Texas’

A special election in Texas that had been viewed by some high-profile Democrats as key to beating President Donald Trump in Texas ended in a big win for the GOP.

Gary Gates, the Republican candidate Texas House District 28, soundly defeated his Democratic opponent Elizabeth Markowitz in a nationally targeted special election on Wednesday, ABC affiliate KTRK reported. . .

Three presidential candidates, including Texas Democrat and former 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, lent their support to Markowitz ahead of the vote.

O’Rourke in particular stressed the election’s importance to winning the state house and building a “team to defeat Trump in Texas.”

Beto Gets Brutally Mocked for Saying Church Shooting Shows Texas Gun Laws ‘Clearly’ Don’t Work; Leftists Celebrate on Social Media After Shooter Identified as White Man

By Pluralist. Failed Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke reacted to a weekend church shooting in White Settlement, Texas by criticizing the state’s gun laws.

O’Rourke, a proponent of stringent gun control measures who has called for national confiscation of firearms, said on Sunday in a tweet that the shooting shows “Clearly what we are doing in Texas, what we are doing in this country, when it comes to guns is not working.” . . .

Commenters on social media, especially gun rights advocates and conservatives, pushed back against O’Rourke’s remarks, arguing that the White Settlement shooting was an example of firearms measures working as they should.

A number of new laws designed to ease restrictions on firearms for Texans went into effect in September.

One of the bills, Senate Bill 535, enabled licensed handgun owners to carry in churches and other places of worship.

Leftists Celebrate on Social Media After Shooter Identified as White Man

By Pluralist. Some users on social media appeared to welcome the news that the gunman who perpetrated a weekend church shooting in Texas was identified as a white male.

The victims of Sunday’s shooting, identified as Anton Wallace, 64, of Fort Worth and Richard White, 67, of River Oaks, were also members of the security force at West Freeway Church of Christ, the state’s attorney general said.

Jack Wilson, the head of the security detail, fired a single shot that took down the gunman, identified as Keith Thomas Kinnunen, 43, of River Oaks. . .

Commenters on social media floated the idea of Kinnunen being motivated by white supremacy.

‘I Was Born For This’: Beto Drops out of 2020 Race

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke is dropping out of the 2020 presidential race, according to a report by the New York Times.

The Times is reporting that O’Rourke had planned to withdraw “from the race in Iowa on Friday evening and follow up with an email message to his supporters.” According to the Times, he stated in a draft of the message to his supporters that “he was proud of championing issues like guns and climate change but conceded that his campaign lacked ‘the means to move forward successfully.'”

O’Rourke’s campaign has struggled in a crowded field vying for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. He came out in favor of a controversial, mandatory gun confiscation program for AR-15s and AK-47s, after a mass shooting in El Paso.
