Beto’s New Claim: Anyone With an AR-15 WILL Have It Taken (VIDEO)

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke continued to say that anyone who does not turn in the types of rifles that would be banned if he becomes president, will be criminally charged and the gun will be taken away.

“Anyone who does not and is caught in possession or seen in possession of one of these weapons of war, one of these instruments of terror, that weapon will be taken from them and they will be fined. And if they should persist in continuing to — to use and to buy these weapons then there will be other consequences in the criminal code,” O’Rourke told CBS News.

The former Texas congressman maintained he expects gun owners to turn in their AR-15s and similar types of rifles. He was asked where the funding would come from in order for the government to pay for the rifles.

“I think a mandatory buyback can be financed with a surcharge that would be paid by gun manufacturers, those who are making the AR-15s and AK-47s, and continue to sell them into our communities despite the terror that they’ve inspired and the lives that they’ve been taken,” O’Rourke explained. “I think this is — is the right way to fund a mandatory buyback, without imposing any new taxes on our fellow Americans.”

Beto’s New Ridiculous Claims: People of This Country ‘Will Force’ Republican Senators to Impeach Trump, U.S. Law Forces Churches to Support LGBT

By Breitbart. On Sunday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “AM Joy, ” 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) said the American people would “force” Republican senators to impeach President Donald Trump. . .

He added, “My faith is in the people of this country. And though you’re right to question the motives of Mitch McConnell who in 2016 was warned about what the Russians were doing to our democracy chose politics and political expediency over this country, our constitution and our democracy. I think the constituents of those members of the Senate, as these facts become clearer to them, will insist on justice and accountability. Because they understand that the alternative is to set a precedent where some people are really above the law in this country. And the moment that we do that is the moment that we’ve turned our back on justice, that we’ve turned our back on this democracy and we lose this idea of America forever. And I know that the people of this country understand that. They will force their senators, including those Republican senators to do the right thing. And it gets back to this idea that I brought up earlier. the power of public sentiment and the popular will and making sure that our voices are heard, certainly at the ballot box in November 2020 but right now on the 20th of October, making sure all of us are heard in terms of how important this moment is and we’ve got do the right thing while we still have time.” (Read more from “Beto’s New Ridiculous Claim: People of This Country ‘Will Force’ Republican Senators to Impeach Trump” HERE)

Beto O’Rourke Claims U.S. Law Requires Religious Nonprofits to Support LGBT Rights

By Washington Examiner. Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke claimed religious organizations receiving tax benefits from the federal government should be required to “follow the law” when it comes to discriminating against gay and transgender people.

Backtracking on his claim earlier this month that religious organizations should be taxed if they did not perform gay marriage, O’Rourke said churches and other religious nonprofits should maintain their tax-exempt status, but that they should be legally obliged not to discriminate against gay and transgender people.

Citing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, O’Rourke claimed on Sunday that regardless of religious values any organization should be required to adhere to the same laws meant to curb discrimination in housing, transportation, and employment. “They must follow the laws of this country, including the law that prohibits discrimination.”

Police Organizations Torch 2020 Democrat’s Gun Confiscation Plan

Former Rep. Robert Francis O’Rourke (D-NM) (aka ‘Beto’) is the left-wing blowhard on guns that liberals fear. Why? Well, it’s because he gives up the playbook and he did so on a national stage. You all know about his plan to confiscate so-called scary guns from the hands of the law-abiding citizenry. AR-15 rifles, one of the most popular in the U.S., and AK-47s are the two scary rifles anti-gun liberals want out of the hands of civilians. Only the government can be trusted with guns is the de facto position of the Democratic Party—and Beto did a crackerjack job in picking Kent State University to make that pitch. Because nothing says trust government with guns than a site where the National Guard shot and killed four students in 1970.

Bob thinks that these people will simply comply with his authoritarian policy. They won’t. As for his plan to send cops to confiscate these weapons, law enforcement groups have rightly said this initiative is nuts and could lead to fatalities. Julio wrote about a bunch of sheriffs from around the country who have torched this idea; they called Bob “delusional” for even suggesting this was a rational policy. And now some of the largest law enforcement organizations are bashing this grossly unconstitutional plan. This is the confiscation of private property. We’re a nation that values freedom. Sorry, Bob, but like Medicare for All—it’s an election killer. But thanks for giving us oodles of ammunition and media to use against your party for the next generation. The Free Beacon’s Stephen Gutowski has more (via Free Beacon):

National law enforcement organizations harshly criticized Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke’s plan to send police officers to collect AR-15s and AK-47s from those who refuse to turn them in under his mandatory buyback scheme.

In interviews with the Washington Free Beacon, leaders from groups representing hundreds of thousands of law enforcement officers described Beto’s gun confiscation plan as “ridiculous,” “asinine,” and likely unconstitutional.

Beto: Hand over Guns or There Will Be ’Consequences’

During the October 15, Democrat debate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke made clear that AR-15 owners who refuse to hand over their guns will have them taken away.

O’Rourke reiterated his plan to use a government-mandated buyback to confiscate privately-owned AR-15s and AK-47s. In so doing, he claimed that each AR-15 and AK-47 in private hands is a “potential instrument of terror.” . . .

O’Rourke responded by explaining that he expects complains with the mandatory buybacks. He said, “I expect my fellow Americans to follow the law. The same way we enforce any provision, any law that we have right now, we don’t go door to door to do anything to enforce the law. I expect Republicans, Democrats, gun owners, non-gun owners alike, to follow the law.” . . .

O’Rourke said, “If someone does not turn an AR-15 or an AK-47, one of these weapons of war, or brings it out in public and brandishes it, in an attempt to intimidate…then that weapon will be taken from them. If they persist, there will be other consequences from law enforcement.” (Read more from “Beto: Hand over Guns or There Will Be ’Consequences’” HERE)

WATCH: Beto Issues Another Video. It’s A Hilarious Tribute To His Courage.

Lately, former congressman, failed Senatorial candidate and floundering presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke has been flailing about on the subject of the arms owned by civilians. Now it seems he has turned to the subject of the arms he owns himself. . .

Arms like we all have, you know, the ones attached to the body. O’Rourke, in the latest installment of “Beto O’Rourke: Real Person,” offered a video following his wildly successful episodes of Beto Goes On the Road, Beto Goes To The Dentist, Beto Gets A Haircut, Beto Changes A Tire, and Beto Flips Burgers. In this installment, O’Rourke offers a video of him bravely getting a flu shot. . .

As noted by The Daily Wire, Beto O’Rourke Goes On The Road featured a series of interminable videos of him driving during the campaign while he played rock music in the car, whether it was driving to Waco through the rain, driving to Houston at night, driving to Laredo, and driving to Killeen, among others.”

Beto Goes to the Dentist featured a “video showing him getting a mouth-wide-open cleaning in order to highlight the story of his dental hygienist’s upbringing in El Paso,” as Fox News reported. Fox News added, “With dental tools jammed into either side of his mouth, O’Rourke introduced his dental hygienist as part of his Instagram story ‘series’ on ‘people of the border.’” (Read more from “Beto Issues Another Video. Uh, Beto, That’s Not the Best Venue to Declare Who Should Only Be Trusted With Guns in America

Former Democratic Congressman Robert Francis O’Rourke is making history, I guess. He wants to take private property from millions of law-abiding Americans. Bob is anti-gun. And he proudly said “hell yes” to confiscating so-called assault weapons. He’s the liberal who thinks the AR-15 is a scary gun. Americans own millions of these rifles. There is no way compliance for confiscation will be honored. It’s illegal. It’s unconstitutional. And if Democrats want to follow the playbooks of never winning another presidential race for the foreseeable future, follow this guy’s lead. Liberals have short memories. Gun control already cost them the 2000 election, with Gore losing West Virginia, Tennessee, and Arkansas over his stance on gun control. Those states, even with Bush winning Florida, would have been enough to push Gore past 270 and succeed Bill Clinton in January of 2001.

So, whom does Bob (aka Beto) think should be trusted to own firearms in America? You guessed it; only the police, military, and other agents of the state should be allowed to own guns. And did I mention that he made this pitch at Kent State University, where the National Guard shot and killed four students in 1970 during a Vietnam War protest (via Reason):

Of all the places to argue that only the government should be trusted with guns, Beto O’Rourke picked…Kent State University.

[…]

Invoking armed agents of the state gunning down unarmed civilians is an interesting way to argue that Americans would be better off if the government forcefully disarmed private citizens. But hey, I guess that’s why we keep being told Beto’s an “unconventional” candidate.

[…]

As J.D. Tuccille pointed out last month, there’s scant evidence to suggest that such a policy could be implemented effectively, and it’s pretty unclear how O’Rourke would get gun owners to comply with the law.

WATCH: Mom Rips Beto to His Face Over Gun Confiscation Plan

Lauren Boebert, owner of Shooters Grill, blasted Democrat presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke to his face on Thursday over his extreme plan to confiscate semi-automatic firearms, telling him: “Hell no, you’re not!”

“Gun-owning Americans who heard your speech and heard what you had to say regarding ‘Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s and AK-47s’ — Well, I am here to say, ‘Hell no, you’re not,'” Boebert, who has several children, told O’Rourke.

Many of O’Rourke’s supporters were so rude to Boebert that O’Rourke had to step in and tell them to knock it off and to let her speak. . .

“We all have these stories. We all have these experiences. I was living in Aurora during Columbine. I had just recently moved when the Aurora shootings happened. Yet I have very close ties here. Yet all of those people were there defenseless,” Boebert continued. “They had no way to defend themselves against a crazed shooter, so I want to know how you intend to legislate the hearts of men and leave American citizens like myself, American mothers. I have four children. I’m 5 foot zero, one hundred pounds, cannot really defend myself with a fist.” . . .

At the event, O’Rourke signaled that he was open to becoming even more extreme on his gun confiscation program as he was open to the idea of banning and confiscating all semi-automatic firearms, which comprise the overwhelming majority of the estimated 393 million firearms owned by Americans[.] (Read more from “Mom Rips Beto to His Face Over Gun Confiscation Plan” HERE)

WATCH: Here’s Why Beto Claims People Will Be ‘Compelled’ to Turn in Their Guns

The Democratic presidential candidate told reporters he would impose a fine on AR-15 owners to “compel” them to follow the law and turn in their banned firearms. Owners who turn in the guns will then be compensated.

“We expect our fellow Americans to follow the law. If they do not, there would be a fine imposed to compel them to follow the law,” O’Rourke said. “We’ve seen this implemented successfully in Australia, where you’ve seen a near 50% reduction in gun violence deaths in that country.”

O’Rourke has maintained he believes gun owners would follow the law and turn in the banned weapons because he said gun owners have come up to him on the campaign trail to say they would. He has also defended the proposal as constitutional. (Read more from “Watch: Here’s Why Beto Claims People Will Be ‘Compelled’ to Turn in Their Guns” HERE)

First Poll Since Debate Shows How Americans Responded to Beto’s Call for Gun Confiscation

A new poll shows how the presidential candidate field is shaping up, and also how Americans responded to Beto O’Rourke’s call to confiscate guns. . .

While Joe Biden kept the lead with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in second, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) continued her slow climb towards rising past Sanders.

O’Rourke saw little change in his support, which has dwindled from a high of 8 percent in April in the same poll, to 4 percent in the newest numbers. . .

The poll showed 32 percent support for the frontrunner Biden, and 20 percent support for Sanders. Warren climbs to 18 percent, just 2 percentage points down from her socialist competition.

In the second tier of competitors, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) comes in with 6 percent support, South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg comes in at 5 percent, and O’Rourke climbs slightly to 4 percent. WATCH: Beto Unleashes Foul-Mouthed Rant on Buttigieg Over Gun Control

Beto O’Rourke launched an expletive-fueled defense of his call Sunday to ban assault-style weapons and impose mandatory buybacks of AR-15s and AK-47s while also pushing back at critics — including fellow 2020 Democrat Pete Buttigieg.

During last Thursday’s presidential debate, the former Texas congressman said, “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47, and we’re not going to allow it to be used against your fellow Americans anymore.” Three days later, O’Rourke appeared on NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” where host Chuck Todd pointed out that there was “a lot of hand-wringing” about the presidential contender’s full-throated call on national TV for confiscating such rifles.

As O’Rourke had put the issue of gun violence at the center of his campaign effort, some fellow Democrats chastised him and were concerned that his statements may have made things harder for gun control supporters as they negotiate with President Trump on legislation to respond to this summer’s mass shootings. . .

Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” and agreed with Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., saying the clip of the former O’Rourke’s statement about AR-15s and AK-47s “will be played for years at Second Amendment rallies with organizations that try to scare people by saying Democrats are coming for your guns.” . . .

[Beto] later tweeted, “When candidates say, ‘At least Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell are pretending to be interested,’ sh–, that is not enough. Neither is poll-testing your message. Gun violence is a life or death issue—and we have to represent the bold ideas of people all over the country.”
