Your Irresponsible, Fact-Free Bomb Speculation Is Ruining the Country

Law enforcement has seized at least 10 suspected package explosives sent to George Soros, CNN, and several top Democratic individuals, and the toxic, vitriolic, speculative and politically partisan news cycle that has erupted around this story is shameful. The Left is assigning blame, without evidence, to an unnamed Trump supporter, with #MAGAbomber trending on social media for most of Wednesday. Trump supporters are being called “terrorists.” Many on the Right are countering that narrative by suggesting, without evidence, that the bomb threats are some sort of “false flag” operation designed by the Left to influence the upcoming midterm election.

President Donald Trump and his administration are also under attack, receiving blame from Democrats and the media for rhetoric they say encourages violence directed at the media and the Democratic Party. CNN president Jeff Zucker pointed his finger directly at Trump in a statement on the intercepted package sent to CNN offices:

The one-sided blame from the media toward Trump ignores the regular heated rhetoric blasted from the Left on its networks. Trump is regularly compared to dictators like Adolf Hitler, his assassination is fantasized in the New York Times, calls for harassment of Republicans from Democratic leaders are ignored or downplayed, and “mob” is a dirty word on CNN, even though that’s exactly what the far Left has become.

Trump took this double standard and fired back at the media in a tweet sent Thursday morning:

Depressingly, all of this nonsensical speculation and partisan rancor is tossed around without any party knowing who sent the packages or why they were sent. The news media and the politicians are not discussing the facts. So let’s attempt to do that here.

Here’s what we do know so far:

Between October 22 and 24, 2018, suspicious packages were received at multiple locations in New York, Washington D.C., and Florida, according to a statement from the FBI. The FBI says these packages “contain potentially destructive devices.”

On October 25, another package sent to actor Robert De Niro was intercepted, bringing the total number of suspicious packages intercepted to 10, CBS News reports.

The individuals who have received these packages also include progressive donor George Soros, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and Rep. Maxine Waters. The return address on each package names “Debbie Wasserman Shultz,” the FBI said.

The packages were sent in manila envelopes with six Forever stamps. The package addressed to Holder was sent to the wrong address and returned to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s office in Florida.

Two packages each were addressed to Biden and Waters.

The AP reports the packages were “packed with powder and shards of glass.” A law enforcement official said they were made from PVC pipe about six inches in length and covered with black tape. Each device reportedly had a small battery, “similar to a watch battery.”

ABC News reports that the package intercepted in Los Angeles addressed to Waters “did contain a live explosive device and that the device was consistent with those on the East Coast.”

NBC News reports that the potential explosive device sent to CNN featured a parody ISIS flag and an inscription that read “Get ‘Er Done.”

All of the potential devices were intercepted without detonating.

The FBI, ATF, Secret Service, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and NYPD are all investigating the matter.

Until the investigation is complete, we will not know who sent these packages or the motive behind it.

Speculation about the sender or dismissals of the bomb threat as “fake news” are irresponsible and damaging to the country.

Let’s let the investigators gather the facts and present them in completion before we begin to draw conclusions. (For more from the author of “Your Irresponsible, Fact-Free Bomb Speculation Is Ruining the Country” please click HERE)

Teen Tries to Detonate Bomb at High School, Allegedly Flew ISIS Flag

Police said a homemade explosive device was the item discovered in a backpack at Pine View High School Monday, that forced the evacuation of the school. Police said if the device had detonated, it would have caused significant injury or death. Police have a suspect in custody.

A warrant served at the male juvenile’s home and items were found consistent with the materials used to build the device. Police also said the suspect had been researching information and expressing interest in ISIS and promoting the organization . . .

During the interview with investigators, the suspect admitted to taking the American flag down and replacing it with an ISIS flag at Hurricane High School.

The suspect also admitted to spray painting “ISIS IS COMI” on the school that same morning, police say.

On Monday afternoon, investigators served a search warrant at the suspect’s home, which found several items that tied the suspect to the crime at Hurricane High School. (Read more from “Teen Tries to Detonate Bomb at High School, Allegedly Flew ISIS Flag” HERE)

Clock Boy Loses yet Another Lawsuit in Battle Against School, Local Officials

A federal judge in Texas has dismissed a lawsuit brought by the family of Ahmed Mohamed — which alleged his high school discriminated against him when officials mistook his homemade clock for a bomb.

The Daily Mail reports the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas dismissed the Mohamed family’s suit for failing to allege facts showing discriminatory or unconstitutional actions on the part of school administrators or local officials.

“Plaintiff does not allege any facts from which this court can reasonably infer that any IISD employee intentionally discriminated against Ahmed Mohamed based on his race or religion,” court documents read.

The family alleged that school administrators discriminated against Ahmed because of his religion and ethnicity — he is Sudanese and practices Islam. They also claim his detention and interrogation without access to his family or a lawyer violated the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution.

Mohamed was taken into police custody after he displayed a homemade clock to teachers at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas. Police and school officials feared the device was a bomb, though they quickly determined the gadget was harmless. Mass Casualties Reported After Car Bomb Goes off in Popular Resort Area

A car bomb blast ripped through a hotel in Thailand on Tuesday, killing one person and injuring 29.

“The explosion happened near a hotel in the province of Pattani, an area popular with Western tourists in the country’s south,” the Daily Mail reported.

“Pictures have emerged showing the remains of a building and a fire raging inside. The nationality of those caught up in the blast is not yet known,” the outlet added.

According to RT.com, the Thai government is reporting the attacks were carried out by a group of at least 20, though denying the perpetrators are Malay-Muslim insurgents.

The attack comes days after eight simultaneous explosions rocked the seaside resort of Hua Hin last month, killing two and wounding 21.

The State Department has listed no recent travel warnings regarding Thailand.

The West Bank and Gaza Strip of Israel, Iran, North Korea, Congo, Turkey and Honduras are among locations the State Department has issued recent warnings.

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office has said there is a “high threat from terrorism” in Thailand.

It has also advised against “all but essential travel to the provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Songkhla on the Thai-Malaysia border.”

The Bangkok Post offered a list of recent bombings. In February of this year, a car bomb detonated outside a police station in the southern Thailand, injuring seven.

The deadliest attack in recent years happened in October 2010, when a blast at a Bangkok apartment complex killed four people. The government blamed the incident on the anti-government Red Shirt movement, which denied any involvement, according to the Post. U.N. Taking Drastic Measures After North Korea Claims to Test Hydrogen Bomb

By Greg Botelho and Euan McKirdy. The U.N. Security Council is set to implement “significant” punitive measures after North Korea’s nuclear test Wednesday and will begin working on a new resolution “immediately,” a statement released by Security Council President Elbio Rosselli says.

After Wednesday’s meeting, the council, which includes China, Russia and the United States, together condemned the test as a “clear violation of (past) resolutions … and of the nonproliferation regime.”

Along with “strongly condemning” the test, members of the council determined to create a resolution that acts on previous promises to further curb the reclusive state’s ability to further its nuclear weapons program.

The 15-member U.N. Security Council held a closed-door meeting Wednesday geared to preventing Pyongyang from getting more nuclear weapons and punishing it for the test earlier that day.

Past U.N. measures included arms, nonproliferation and luxury good embargoes, a freeze on overseas financial assets and a travel ban. None of them have so far stopped North Korea from continuing its nuclear program. (Read more from “U.N. Taking Drastic Measures After North Korea Claims to Test Hydrogen Bomb” HERE)

North Korea: We Tested an ‘H-Bomb’

By Gordon G. Chang. Chilling announcement raises huge concerns over nuclear proliferation and proves that Kim Jong Un doesn’t care what Obama and the rest of the world think about his militant regime.

North Korea today claimed it has joined the world’s first rank of nuclear nations by successfully conducting a hydrogen bomb test at 10 a.m. Pyongyang time.

If the claim is true, the Kim Jong Un regime has made far more progress in developing nuclear weapons than believed. Even if the boast is false, the detonation is a dangerous signal.

The test, which triggered international earthquake detection systems, will plunge the region into a diplomatic crisis and intensifies concerns about nuclear proliferation to Iran. (Read more from “North Korea: We Tested an ‘H-Bomb'” HERE)

You’ll Never Guess Where ‘Clock Boy’ Ahmed Mohamed Is Moving

A Texas teenager who gained national attention after he was arrested for bringing a homemade clock to school is moving to Qatar with his family to continue his education.

Ahmed Mohamed has accepted a scholarship from Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, or QF, his family said.

They thanked all the people and places that reached out in support after the “unfortunate incident of Ahmed’s arrest.” The family visited QF this month.

“Qatar was a cool place to visit. I loved the city of Doha because it’s so modern. I saw so many amazing schools there, many of them campuses of famous American universities. The teachers were great. I think I will learn a lot and have fun, too,” Ahmed said in the statement . . .

In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, Ahmed said he was pulled out of class at MacArthur High School by his principal and five police officers and taken to a room where he was questioned for about an hour and a half. Bad Timing? Texas ‘Clock’-Maker’s Visit With Wanted Sudanese Leader Complicates WH Invite

Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year old boy arrested after a homemade clock he brought to school was mistaken for a bomb, may be putting President Obama in an awkward situation after meeting with Sudanese president and alleged war criminal Omar al-Bashir just days before a White House event to which he was invited.

Despite the controversy, the White House has not yet announced any change of plans for the invitation or the event – an Astronomy Night scheduled for Monday that brings together NASA astronauts and government scientists with students and teachers . . .

The White House first reached out to Mohamed after he gained national attention for being pulled from class and handcuffed after showing a digital clock to teachers at his Dallas high school. The arrest stirred accusations of Islamaphobia, and Obama offered his support.

But as the boy has gone on a tour across the globe to speak out against racism — meeting with Turkish President Ahmet Davutoğlu in New York, and visiting a number of Middle Eastern countries such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia — the visit to his father’s home country of Sudan is raising eyebrows . . .

The Sudanese leader is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Darfur, where he is accused of orchestrating genocide and crimes against humanity. Al-Bashir denies the accusations. (Read more from “Bad Timing? Texas ‘Clock’-Maker’s Visit With Wanted Sudanese Leader Complicates WH Invite” HERE)

Something Crazy Just Happened at ‘Clock Boy’ Ahmed Mohamed’s School

Students at the former Texas high school of clock maker Ahmed Mohammed were forced to evacuate the campus after someone called in a bomb threat on Wednesday morning.

KDFW-4 reports that the caller contacted MacArthur High School at 9:45 AM from an anonymous number and said that a bomb would go off in 30 minutes.

School officials took the threat seriously and evacuated all the students to a nearby football field.

Irving police came and inspected the school, but found nothing suspicious. The officers gave the “all clear” at 10:45 AM.

Breitbart reports that the police have called the threat a “hoax” and are investigating. The person who made the call could receive up to 6 months in jail and a $10,000 fine.

As reported by Western Journalism, Ahmed’s parents pulled their son from the school after he was suspended for bringing a clock to school that officials first believed to be a bomb. Ahmed was detained and questioned by police, but not charged with any crimes. (Read more from “Something Crazy Just Happened at ‘Clock Boy’ Ahmed Mohamed’s School” HERE)
