Trump Adviser: FBI Agents Did Not Read Miranda Rights or Allow Him to Call His Lawyer; ‘The World Is Watching,’ Jan 6 Hearings Committee Chairman Boasts. Americans’ Ratings Disagree.

By Breitbart. Former White House economic adviser Peter Navarro filed a motion in federal court in Washington, DC, on Friday, claiming that the FBI agents who arrested him last week failed to read him his Miranda rights or to provide him access to his attorney.

Navarro was arrested last week for contempt of Congress as he was boarding a flight at Reagan National Airport. He has declined to cooperate with the January 6 Committee, citing claims of executive privilege and constitutional objections. . .

He also alleges that he was handcuffed and placed in leg irons, and was held in a cell without being provided with water. (Read more from “Trump Adviser: FBI Agents Did Not Read Miranda Rights or Allow Him to Call His Lawyer” HERE)

‘The World Is Watching,’ Jan 6 Hearings Committee Chairman Boasts. Americans’ Ratings Disagree.

By Daily Wire. On Thursday night, as the Jan. 6 Committee convened to start their hearings, Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MI) boasted, “The world is watching what we do here.”

According to preliminary ratings figures from Nielsen, the world might have been watching, but most Americans had better things to do.

The New York Times tried to hype the number of people watching the hearings by writing breathlessly, “An audience of at least 20 million people watched the first prime-time hearing of the House Select Committee’s investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on Thursday night, according to Nielsen.”

But as The Federalist pointed out, that wasn’t much to brag about:

According to preliminary ratings figures from Nielsen published by The New York Times, more than 19 million tuned in for what was anticipated to be a blockbuster event. While 19 million may seem high at first glance, a look at what cable and broadcast networks typically pull for an average evening reveals Thursday’s viewership as little to brag about, especially when all but one, Fox News, aired the livestream.

Was Jan. 6 Organized by the FBI?; WATCH: January 6 Committee Plays Deceptively Edited Video of Capitol Riot

By Townhall. As the liberal media obsesses over President Trump for so-called “inciting” the peaceful crowds to enter the Capitol on January 6 to protest, Republicans are standing up and defending their party.

While meeting with conservative activists at a Phoenix IHOP, Senate candidate Blake Masters (R-AZ.) questioned whether Jan. 6 was just one big set up by the FBI.

According to audio of the meeting obtained by CNN, the Trump-endorsed candidate was asked if he would support an investigation into the U.S. Intelligence operations to reveal the government’s motives in the protests, to which he replied “absolutely.”

“Don’t we suspect that, like, one-third of the people outside of the Capitol complex on Jan. 6 were actual FBI agents hanging out…what did people know? And when did they know it? We got to get to the bottom of this.” (Read more from “Was Jan. 6 Organized by the FBI? HERE)

Watch: January 6 Committee Plays Deceptively Edited Video of Capitol Riot

By Breitbart. The January 6 Committee played a deceptively edited video of the Capitol riot on Thursday evening, dubbing audio of former President Donald Trump describing the peaceful part of the rally over footage of violent clashes a mile away.

The video was presented during the committee’s first public hearing as part of a montage that Chair Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) said included never-before-seen footage. The audio was from a Fox News interview of Trump on July 11, 2021.

The committee played Trump’s comments — which referred to his peaceful rally, over a mile away — over visuals of clashes between rioters and police. “They were peaceful people. These were great people,” Trump was heard saying. “The crowd was unbelievable. And I mentioned the word love. The love — the love in the air, I have never seen anything like it.”

In the original context, however, it was clear Trump was referring to his rally, not to the riot at the Capitol a mile away. (Read more from “Watch: January 6 Committee Plays Deceptively Edited Video of Capitol Riot” HERE)

Memo Confirms Trump Pentagon Offered Guard Troops Before Jan. 6

Government memos validate the long-held claim of Trump administration officials that Capitol Police rejected an offer made by the Pentagon four days before the Jan. 6 riot to provide National Guard troops.

An official Capitol Police timeline obtained by Just the News records a Jan. 2, 2021, text from Defense Department official Carol Corbin to Capitol Police deputy chief Sean Gallagher.

Corbin, according to the timeline, reached out “to determine whether USCP is considering a request for National Guard soldiers for January 6, 2021 event.”

The following morning, “Gallagher replies to DOD via text that a request for National Guard support not forthcoming at this time after consultation with COP Sund,” referring to Steven Sund, the chief of the Capitol Police.

Just the News noted the rejection came as the Capitol Police was beginning to change its assessment of Jan. 6, 2021, to take into account a massive Trump rally to protest the November 2020 election results. (Read more from “Memo Confirms Trump Pentagon Offered Guard Troops Before Jan. 6” HERE)

Trump-Aligned Republicans Ready Plan To Drown Out Jan. 6 Hearings

House Republican lawmakers aligned with former President Donald Trump are planning to host counterprogramming events in order to set the record “straight” ahead of the Jan. 6 hearings starting this week, according to a top GOP member.

Republican leadership in the House will address the media at 10:45 a.m., an event that will include Reps. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Jim Jordan (R-OH), both of whom were rejected by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) from sitting on the select committee investigating the Capitol riot. Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik of New York, and Republican Conference Secretary Richard Hudson of North Carolina are also scheduled to appear.

The Capitol Hill stakeout will take place after the House Republican conference’s weekly meeting. The Jan. 6 committee’s summer hearings, set to begin Thursday, will be just one topic lawmakers discuss, a spokesperson for the House Republican Conference told the Washington Examiner. A representative for Scalise even went so far as to say the stakeout is “not a prebuttal” to the hearings.

Still, Stefanik, the third-ranking Republican in the House, is promising a wider-scale campaign to pick apart the efforts of the Jan. 6 panel. (Read more from “Trump-aligned Republicans Ready Plan To Drown Out Jan. 6 Hearings” HERE)

Five Proud Boys Indicted for Seditious Conspiracy in Capitol Riot

Five members of the Proud Boys have been indicted for seditious conspiracy related to their storming of the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.

An amended indictment unsealed in Federal District Court in Washington shows that Enrique Tarrio, who formerly served as the chairman of the Proud Boys, Joseph Biggs, Ethan Nordean, Zachary Rehl and Dominic Pezzola, were indicted for seditious conspiracy.

All of the men were members of the extremist group and had traveled to DC from across the country for the Jan. 6 protest — an event that evolved into a riot and resulted in the storming of the United States Capitol.

Tarrio was not in the nation’s capitol when the Capitol Riot occurred, the filing notes: he had left the city following an order from a local judge after he was charged with the December burning of a Black Lives Matter banner.

Though Tarrio was not accused with “physically taking part in the breach of the Capitol,” the filing said, he still “led the advance planning and remained in contact with other members of the Proud Boys during” the riot, ordered the group to go “incognito” rather than wearing their traditional shirts, and created a “command and control structure” in a Telegram group chat. Cheney: January 6 Probe Found Evidence of ‘Extremely Broad,’ Chilling ‘Conspiracy’ (VIDEO)

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said on “CBS Sunday Morning” that the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol has found evidence of an “extremely broad” and “well-organized” conspiracy.

Reporter Robert Costa asked, “Are you confident that what you have found as a committee will somehow grab the American people by the lapels and say, ‘Wake up: You have to pay attention’?”

Cheney said, “I am. The threat, and it’s an ongoing threat, you know, we are not in a situation where former President Trump has expressed any sense of remorse about what happened. We are, in fact, in a situation where he continues to use even more extreme language, frankly, than the language that caused the attack. And so, people must pay attention. People must watch, and they must understand how easily our democratic system can unravel if we don’t defend it.” . . .

Costa asked, “Well, what’s made you more concerned?”

Cheney said, “Well, I think the extent, the expanse, how broad this multi-pronged effort was.” (Read more from “Cheney: January 6 Probe Found Evidence of ‘Extremely Broad,’ Chilling ‘Conspiracy’” HERE)

‘Insurrectionist’ Trump Approved National Guard Troops for D.C. on Jan 6. Dems Said No.

. . .[I]f Donald J. Trump (DJT) wanted his supporters to storm Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, and disrupt that day’s congressional certification of Electoral College votes, would he — two days earlier — have approved 10,000 to 20,000 Washington, D.C. National Guard (DCNG) soldiers to stymie his own seditious plans?

This scenario makes less-than-zero sense, which explains why Democrats are so desperate to conceal the highly exculpatory facts about that red-letter date. . .

On December 31, 2020, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser requested DCNG troops to support the local Metro Police Department (MPD), in advance of “First Amendment events” planned for January 6, 2021.

In response, “DJT authorized the use of the military to support local and federal law enforcement on 6 Jan.,” then-Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller told me. “He directed that I provide whatever support was requested. Absolutely true statement.” . . .

“The President scoffed and said, ‘You’ll need ten to twenty thousand.’ I did not respond,” Miller continued. “He then reiterated that I should provide any military support requested. That was the way he worked and gave orders. He listened, asked questions, commented and then, if necessary, refined his guidance.” (Read more from “Busted: Counselor Who Organized School Drag Show Arrested for Having Sex With 15-Year-Old Student” HERE)

Biden OKs Transfer of More Trump Records to Jan. 6 Committee

President Joe Biden authorized the National Archives and Records Administration to turn over a trove of records from the Trump administration to the House committee investigating the Capitol riot.

The White House declined to assert executive privilege over an eighth batch of documents the Jan. 6 panel requested in a letter to the National Archives, the Washington Post reported. It is unclear what kinds of documents were included in the recent trove.

“As to the remaining prioritized records, President Biden has considered the former president’s claims, and I have engaged in consultations with the Office of Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice. The President has determined that an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified,” White House counsel Dana Remus wrote in the letter.

The documents are expected to be sent to the Jan. 6 committee by May 26, according to the report. So far, the National Archives has turned over hundreds of documents to the committee. (Read more from “Biden OKs Transfer of More Trump Records to Jan. 6 Committee” HERE)

Report: Donald Trump Jr. Meets With Jan. 6 Committee

The oldest son of former President Donald Trump has met with the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The interview with Donald Trump Jr. took place Tuesday.

The two people who confirmed the interview insisted on anonymity to discuss a private meeting.

Trump Jr. is one of nearly 1,000 witnesses the committee has interviewed as it works to compile a record of the attack, the worst on the Capitol in more than two centuries. He is the second of Trump’s children known to speak to the committee after his sister Ivanka Trump sat down with lawmakers for eight hours in early April. Letter From Jan. 6 Prisoner to Americans ‘Don’t Do Nothing!’

In a letter obtained exclusively by The Epoch Times, a Jan. 6 prisoner asks, “are you ready to light brushfires of Liberty in the souls of men? Then don’t do nothing!” The letter, dated December 30, 2021, is revealed here in its entirety for the first time.

“My name is Jeremy Brown,” the letter begins. “I am a 20-year retired U.S. Army Special Forces Combat Veteran. On January 5th and 6th, 2021 I was in our Nation’s capital as part of an all-volunteer protective detail tasked with providing security for organizers and speakers at a legally permitted political rally. On September 30th, 2021 I was arrested at home in Tampa, Florida by approximately 30 to 40 heavily armed Federal Agents and local law enforcement. They came in full force to serve a misdemeanor arrest warrant for being in an ‘unauthorized area.’ These were no ordinary agents. They were agents working as part of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). Oddly, in the nine months prior to that day, I had never been contacted or questioned by any investigators about this case. Stranger still, the arrest warrant and search warrant had only been granted one day prior. This, despite numerous members of my Protective Detail having been arrested many months prior. While this may sound unusual to you, I know exactly why it happened.”

According to Brown, the same JTTF agents who arrested him on Sept. 30, 2021, had tried to recruit him as a Confidential Informant (CI) on Dec. 9, 2020. Their “pitch,” he said, was intended to gauge his “willingness to infiltrate law-abiding citizen groups that had no criminal history and certainly were not designated “terrorist groups.”

Brown declined their offer. But, having what he calls “a healthy mistrust of Federal law enforcement,” Brown made an audio recording of the exchange, which—after many efforts to delete it from the internet—has been shared and reposted by numerous others, keeping it alive. The most current iteration was shared by The Gateway Pundit. (Read more from “Letter From Jan. 6 Prisoner to Americans ‘Don’t Do Nothing!’” HERE)
