Oath Keepers Leader Pleads Not Guilty to Seditious Conspiracy Charge

Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the right-wing Oath Keepers who was charged earlier this month with seditious conspiracy for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, pleaded not guilty to the various charges on Tuesday.

Rhodes and most of his co-defendants facing the sedition charge entered not guilty pleas at a preliminary hearing before a federal judge in Washington, D.C.

If convicted of the seditious conspiracy count, they face a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison.

The not guilty pleas were expected at this early stage of the proceedings, and all of the defendants could still plead guilty if federal prosecutors offer plea agreements.

The Justice Department is accusing Rhodes, a 56-year-old Yale University Law School graduate, with leading the alleged conspiracy to use force in order to deny President Biden the White House in the weeks after the November 2020 presidential election. Woman Shot and Killed During Capitol Riot Actually Urged Others to Stand Down

It’s already known that internal police documents about the shooting death of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt by a U.S. Capitol police officer during the ruckus on Jan. 6, 2021, show there was no reason for her to die.

Now an analysis by the Epoch Times reveals it was Babbitt who “desperately tried to prevent rioters from vandalizing the doors leading to the Speaker’s Lobby at the Capitol that day, even stepping between one troublemaker and officers guarding the doors.”

Democrats, and their allies in the legacy media, have portrayed her over and over as a rioter who was an the Capitol as part of an “insurrection,” which likely is more a political claim that anything else.

The Epoch Times said its “frame-by-frame video evidence” confirmed that the veteran was shot and killed by a police officer who, according to witnesses, did not issue a verbal warning, as she tried to get through a broken window.

Supreme Court Allows Jan. 6 Committee to Get Trump Documents

In a rebuff to former President Donald Trump, the Supreme Court is allowing the release of presidential documents sought by the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The justices on Wednesday rejected a bid by Trump to withhold the documents from the committee until the issue is finally resolved by the courts. Trump’s lawyers had hoped to prolong the court fight and keep the documents on hold.

Following the high court’s action, there is no legal impediment to turning over the documents, which are held by the National Archives and Records Administration. They include presidential diaries, visitor logs, speech drafts and handwritten notes dealing with Jan. 6 from the files of former chief of staff Mark Meadows. January 6th Committee Subpoenas Google, Twitter, Facebook

The congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riots on Thursday subpoenaed Twitter, Facebook, and other big tech companies in an effort to determine how rioters coordinated on their platforms.

The House Select Committee on the January 6th Attack also subpoenaed Reddit and Alphabet, Google’s parent company. In a letter, the committee said it was investigating “what steps—if any—social media companies took to prevent their platforms from being breeding grounds for radicalizing people to violence.”

The letter named Facebook, now called Meta, and YouTube, an Alphabet subsidiary, as particularly negligent. But it said all four companies subpoenaed were “unwilling to commit to voluntarily and expeditiously” cooperating with the committee. The committee also said “Twitter has failed to disclose critical information.”

In the immediate aftermath of the Jan. 6 riots, several big tech platforms cut off access to conservative social media site Parler, blaming it for hosting the planning of the riot. But recent investigations found many of the rioters organized on large platforms like Facebook. Some rioters live-streamed their entrances to the Capitol on YouTube. The Jan. 6 Investigation We Need Is Into the Unlawful Military Occupation of D.C.

Roughly one year ago, on Jan. 8, 2021, acting U.S. Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller unwittingly requested that I assist him in committing an unlawful act by using our National Guard soldiers and airmen as a domestic police force against American citizens in response to the events of Jan. 6, 2021. As the commanding general of the Arizona National Guard, I refused, because the request was clearly unlawful.

I placed my objections to Miller’s request in writing on Jan. 15, 2021. Since then, these clear violations of U.S. law have been ignored by the Department of Defense (DoD), corporate media, and even the House of Representatives’ Select Committee tasked with investigating the events of Jan. 6.

On Jan. 8, 2021, in response to the unrest two days earlier, DoD requested every state to mobilize National Guard troops to the nation’s capital. Fifty-three of the 54 U.S. states and territories granted that request, and Arizona stood alone in opposition to the unlawful request.

The Posse Comitatus Act, Department of Defense Directive 3025.18, and Department of Defense Instruction 3025.21 prohibit the use of military personnel to execute civilian laws, making it unlawful for a government official to use military members to police civilians in the United States. Unless properly authorized, using military members to engage in search, seizure, arrest, apprehension, stop and frisk, brandishing a weapon, security functions, crowd and traffic control, operating, manning, or staffing checkpoints, or surveillance or pursuit of individuals is simply illegal. Those, of course, include some of the exact illegal activities demanded by Mr. Miller and other senior military officials.

To be sure, officials may attempt to argue that the prohibitions against military policing civilians do not apply when those soldiers and airmen are under the control of their respective governors. Yet Department of Defense regulations implementing the Posse Comitatus Act are clear and run contrary to this position. Hundreds of laws and processes were changed in the months leading up to the election, sometimes legally and sometimes not, creating chaos, confusion, and uncertainty. Tech oligarch Mark Zuckerberg, one of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful men, spent $419 million — nearly as much as the federal government itself — to interfere in the government’s management of the election in key states.

Powerful tech oligarchs and corrupt propaganda press conspired to keep indisputably important news stories, such as allegations of corruption regarding the Biden family business, hidden from voters in the weeks prior to voting. Information operations were routinely manufactured about President Trump in the closing months of the campaign, including the false claim that Russians paid bounties for dead American soldiers and Trump didn’t care, and that Trump had called dead American soldiers losers. Both were disputed by dozens of on-the-record sources. . .

The media and other Democrats have used the January 6 riot at the Capitol as a way to ignore legitimate concerns about what they did to the election system, and as a way to continue the assault on election security.

As part of their political operation, they have used a propaganda technique of redefining efforts to secure the integrity of elections as attacks on democracy.

Here’s the Grade-A Stupidity Kamala Harris Served up in Her January 6 Remarks

By Townhall. Today is going to be nauseating. It’s going to be grounded in all the hysterics of the January 6 riot that occurred last year. CNN and MSNBC are totally juiced to spew some of the most unhinged takes about this day. The guests they have slated will probably act as if “journalists” stormed the beaches of Normandy. They’re not war heroes. They’re not veterans. They’re wimpy drones of the political class who just need to get over it. It was a riot. That’s the end. Everyone else has moved on with their lives because, unlike liberal America, we’re not obsessed with Donald Trump or the 2016 election. We’re also going to be subjected to some classic historical illiteracy as well. Vice President Kamala Harris kicked it off by comparing 1/6 to Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 attacks.

It’s not. You don’t even need to do an analysis of these remarks. They’re facially untrue. This was never a national security threat or issue. Again, it was a riot. It shouldn’t have happened, but this wasn’t as bad as what happened on 9/11 or December 7, 1941. To say so marginalizes actual attacks on the country and spits in the faces of the families of the victims since Democrats have decided to use this little riot in their ongoing crusade to convict Trump of…anything.

Chuck Schumer: I Was Targeted on January 6 Because of My Religion

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) decided to get in on the victimization-fest, saying he was targeted because he was Jewish or something. Seriously? No one knows who the Senate Majority Leader is on a given day, but they knew it was Chuck Schumer, right? Please. Nancy Pelosi is different as we pummel her more often but Schumer is on a hit list. C’mon, man (via The Hill):

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Thursday recounted being evacuated from the Senate chamber during the Jan. 6 attack, including a close brush with rioters who he was told made antisemitic remarks about him.

“I was within 30 feet of these nasty, racist, bigoted insurrectionists. Had someone had a gun, had two of them blocked off the door, who knows what would have happened. I was told later that one of them reportedly said, ‘There’s the big Jew. Let’s get him,’ ” Schumer said.

“Bigotry against one is bigotry against all. And I saw something that I had been told later never happened before, the Confederate flag flying in this dear Capitol. That’s just one of many searing, grotesque images of that unimaginable, most un-American day,” Schumer added.

During his speech, Schumer called out former President Trump, warned that democracy was at risk and made an indirect plea to Republicans to urge them to talk about the attack. Though several Republicans were angry with Trump in the immediate aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack, some of the president’s closest allies have tried to downplay the violence.

Times Left-Wing Protesters Broke Into Government Buildings and Assaulted Democracy

Self-absorbed congressional Democrats held a group therapy session on Capitol Hill on Thursday as they work tirelessly to immortalize Jan. 6 as an annual day of doom, but the rest of us are old enough to remember a few more times when riots and protests overwhelmed government buildings with no such theatrical response.

More than a few times, actually. The 2020 summer of rage was more or less “incited” by these same top Democrats, who race-baited as if their lives depended on it, and even our vice president, who helped bail violent rioters out of jail. It featured a number of these attacks on the government (which strangely weren’t called attacks on democracy at the time). . .

On Oct. 14, 2021, climate activists breached the Interior Department, with demonstrators who were left outside struggling with law enforcement officers as they reportedly tried to force their way in, shouting “Go inside! Go inside!” Some activists vandalized a building, while others pinned police against a wall. The ordeal resulted in a number of injuries, according to multiple sources, with a police officer being transported to the hospital. . .

In June 2020, then-President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and their son Barron were reportedly rushed to a secure bunker when a group of protesters breached temporary barricades that had been set up around the White House complex. . .

In 2011, thousands of people opposed to Republican Gov. Scott Walker filled the Wisconsin state Capitol, screaming in opposition to the governor’s budget repair bill.

Biden Unleashes on Trump, but Ignores Real Election 2020 Challenges

Joe Biden on Thursday, the anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, unleashed a vitriolic attack on “former president” Donald Trump, but ignored the evidence that there were, in fact, issues coming out of the 2020 presidential election that should cause concern for Americans.

Those issues are that a review of the impact of the decision by leftist legacy and social media companies to suppress accurate reporting about Hunter Biden and his foreign dealings, some apparently involving Joe Biden, revealed that had those reports been carried more widely, enough people would have withheld their vote for Joe Biden to keep Trump in the White House. . .

Biden, according to the Washington Examiner, charged, “For the first time in our history, a president had not just lost an election, he tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power as a violent mob breached the Capitol. But they failed. They failed.”

He claimed that, “A former president of the United States has created and spread a web of lies about the 2020 election. He’s done so because he values power over principle … he can’t accept that he lost.”

And he incorrectly claimed, “Right now, in state after state, new laws are being written, not to protect the vote but to deny it. Not only to suppress the vote but to subvert it … the former president and his supporters have decided the only way for them to win is to suppress your vote and to subvert our elections. Proof of a Set Up? Feds Won’t Say Why Armed ‘Capitol Rioters’ Disappeared From FBI’s Most Wanted List; Pelosi Owns The J6 Commission, And That’s Why It Failed

By Washington Examiner. Federal authorities won’t explain why three men who participated in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, have mysteriously disappeared from the FBI’s Capitol Violence Most Wanted list.

One unidentified man wore an earpiece during the riot and was filmed carrying what appeared to be a concealed handgun on his left hip. The man was pictured on the FBI’s most wanted list for over five months until he was removed without explanation on the same day the New York Times reported an FBI informant was at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

A second unidentified man was filmed beating police officers with a baton during the riot. The FBI said the man was wanted for assaulting a federal law enforcement officer, but the agency removed the man from its most wanted list without explanation in late February, just weeks after his debut.

The third man, Ray Epps of Arizona, was filmed in the hours leading up to the riot urging Trump supporters to enter the Capitol to stop the certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory.

Epps has not been arrested or charged for his actions. His unexplained removal from the FBI’s most wanted list on July 1 has fueled speculation from a member of the House Judiciary Committee that Epps may have agitated people to storm the Capitol at the behest of the FBI. Pelosi Owns The J6 Commission, And That’s Why It Failed

By The Federalist. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Commission was supposed to help Democrats hold onto their slim majority during tough 2022 midterm elections. Instead, it stumbled out of the gate, failed to gain legitimacy among the public, and has been plagued with serious legal and ethical problems.

Pelosi’s decision to politically exploit the riot at the Capitol was a no-brainer. Democrats nearly lost the chamber in 2020 when Democrats took control of the Senate and presidency. The president’s party almost always loses significant numbers of House seats during midterm elections. The only time that didn’t happen in recent history was 2002, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Pelosi understandably felt her best bet to preserve power was, with a massive assist from left-wing media, to somehow turn disgruntled Donald Trump supporters’ riot at the Capitol into the next 9/11.

There were massive problems with the scheme. For one thing, Republicans had immediately and vociferously denounced the riot. This was a far cry from the Summer of Violence, when Democrats and their media enablers cheered as leftist groups destroyed sectors of cities throughout the country, resulting in “some 15 times more injured police officers, 23 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot.”

Democrats did not condemn these serious and lengthy attacks on the White House, federal courthouses, police buildings, private businesses, and homes. Instead, they joined with the rioters in calling for the defunding of police and other radical measures.

The riots were the result of a deeply destructive lie, pushed by top Democrats, that the country and its policing are irredeemably evil and racist. What’s more, any and all attempts to quell the siege of federal buildings were condemned in the most hysterical terms by Pelosi and other Democrats.
