Democrats Said Thoughts And Prayers Won’t Stop Leftist Violence, So Here Are Some Ideas

On Wednesday, after an assassin fatally shot conservative organizer Charlie Kirk in the throat while he spoke at a campus event in Utah, the reaction on the left was twofold. Online and in the real world, some celebrated Kirk’s death and said, in so many words, that he had it coming. Others issued statements, mostly vanilla, decrying “political violence” and expressing sympathies for Kirk’s family. A few said they were “praying.” Many conspicuously didn’t, instead blandly saying their “thoughts” were with Kirk and his family.

The compulsory statements ring pretty hollow for a few reasons. For starters, “thoughts” is a meaningless replacement for the act of petitioning God Almighty for comfort and healing. They’re coming from people who regularly vilified Kirk and his allies, using the same kind of inflammatory language Kirk’s killer engraved on the casings of his bullets. But it has also become obvious how much disgust many on the left have for prayer — so it’s weird to watch them play-act at an impotent secularized version of it, let alone the real thing.

Recall just two weeks ago, after a transgender shooter opened fire on Catholic schoolchildren in church, heartbroken Christians offered their prayers for the victims and their families. Prominent leftists excoriated them, mocking the prayers of not just horrified onlookers but the very prayers spoken by the victims before they were shot.

To mock our prayers as insufficient was a convenient way to redirect the conversation about the Minneapolis shooting toward the left’s favorite talking point in times of tragedy, gun control (certainly not the rising crisis of transgender violence). They told us prayer was not enough and that something had to be done to stop such tragedies from happening again.

The past week has proved them wrong and (kind of) right. It’s more obvious than ever how much our prayers are needed. Nothing in the world can comfort Mrs. Charlie Kirk better than her Lord and Savior, as I imagine she’s acutely aware. No power less than Christ can win over the souls of those who have gleefully cast their lot with evil and boasted of it on the internet. We should all be in constant and fervent prayer for Kirk’s loved ones to be comforted, for the hearts of those who hate him to be turned from evil, and for justice and virtue to govern the civic life we share with those who hate us. Even now, we’ve seen God in His abundant mercy use Kirk’s death to soften the hearts of strangers toward Christianity. Praise God for that, pray for more to hear and believe, and pray for faithful disciples to share the Gospel as prolifically as Kirk did. George Zinn, Elderly Rabble-Rouser Who Falsely Claimed He Shot Charlie Kirk, Is Hit With Child Porn Charges

The elderly rabble-rouser who allegedly hindered Utah authorities’ response after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot is now accused of keeping “graphic” sexual photos of children on his phone, according to law enforcement.

George Zinn, 71, was charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor Monday after investigators found more than 20 images of kids as young as 5 years old, at least partially naked and “posing” in a “sexual” way, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday.

“Zinn admitted … that he gets sexual gratification from viewing and sharing [child sexual abuse material] images with others, and that his preferred victim age is 5 to 12 years old,” the agency alleged.

Zinn, who is a political “gadfly,” is also facing a charge of obstruction of justice after he allegedly admitted to screaming that he shot Kirk on a Utah college campus Wednesday in a bid to help the actual shooter get away.

He was quickly taken into custody at Utah Valley University with that detention paving the way for the child porn charges, the sheriff’s office said. (Read more from “George Zinn, Elderly Rabble-Rouser Who Falsely Claimed He Shot Charlie Kirk, Is Hit With Child Porn Charges” HERE)

Report: Charlie Kirk Rejected Netanyahu’s Funds, ‘Frightened’ of Israel Lobby Before Death

A Trump insider and long-time friend of murdered [conservative] influencer Charlie Kirk has told the Grayzone that Kirk’s burgeoning change of heart on Israeli influence over US politics provoked a backlash from Netanyahu’s allies that left him angry and ‘frightened’ of the Israel lobby after a seeming Israeli spying operation was uncovered.

According to [an unverified] source close to Kirk, Kirk rejected a huge offer of cash from Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this year for his ‘Turning Point USA’ (TPUSA), believed Netanyahu was trying to bring him to heel after he began to raise public questions over Israel’s “overwhelming influence in Washington” and had begun to “loathe” Netanyahu and his influence over Donald Trump’s appointments and decisions, which had led to Kirk warning Trump against attacking Iran to please Israel.

Kirk’s new-found recognition of Israel’s influence led to him becoming the target of a “sustained private campaign of intimidation and free-floating fury by wealthy and powerful allies of Netanyahu”, and Kirk was frightened:

Kirk tried to underline his commitment to Israel, making a series of comments about the consistency and resoluteness of his devotion, but even the least criticism of Israel’s actions generated a mass backlash, as did his decision to host Dave Smith, a comedian and political commentator who has become increasingly critical of Israel during its genocide in Gaza, in a debate Kirk organised. As the Grayzone reported:

“He was being told what you’re not allowed to do, and it was driving him crazy,” Kirk’s friend recalled. The conservative youth leader was not only alienated by the hostile nature of the interactions, but “frightened” by the backlash.

The friend’s account dovetails with those of multiple right-wing commentators with access to Kirk. “I think, in the end, Charlie was going through a spiritual transformation,” Candace Owens, a conservative influencer who shifted decisively against Israel after October 7, reflected after her friend’s killing. “I know it, he was going through a lot. There was a lot of pressure, and it’s hard for me to watch the people who were pressuring him just say the things that they’re saying.”

Want To Honor Charlie Kirk’s Legacy? Emulate His Moral Courage

I talked to a friend recently about courage, and he made what I thought was a really profound point worth thinking about in depth: Not all courage is the same. For example, there is moral courage and physical courage.

Physical courage is the soldier who braves the hail of bullets to complete his mission or to save his brother-in-arms. It is the fireman who risks his life to run into a burning building to save people who might otherwise die without his help. It is the mother who instinctively shields her child from danger using her own body. . .

But there is another type of courage that we don’t often recognize and praise, and that is moral courage. Moral courage is hard to depict in a mural or a statue. A monument to men planting a flag at Iwo Jima just seems more dramatic than someone calmly standing up and speaking the truth at a school board meeting, or telling a friend his behavior is ungodly, or internally vowing to no longer silently abide the lies of a culture that tells you boys can become girls or unborn babies aren’t people. . .

In our lives, however, we have the opportunity to practice and display moral courage every single day and in everything we do. Raising your children to do good and hate evil is morally courageous. Publicly objecting to false doctrines spread by wicked messengers is morally courageous. Stopping what you are doing and praying to Christ when you feel hopeless and helpless is morally courageous.

Standing up before a culture that hates God and hates good and revels in evil is morally courageous. Risking your job and livelihood to speak the truth and reject lies is morally courageous. (Read more from “Want To Honor Charlie Kirk’s Legacy? Emulate His Moral Courage” HERE)

Charlie Kirk Shooting Suspect Reportedly Made Eyebrow-Raising Confession In Chat Room

The suspect in Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination made comments online to his online friends that suggested he killed the conservative activist, The Washington Post reported Monday, citing screenshots of the discussion and two sources familiar.

“Hey guys, I have bad news for you all,” Tyler Robinson, 22, said on the chat platform Discord hours before his arrest in the Sept. 10 killing of Kirk at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah, according to The Washington Post. “It was me at UVU yesterday. [I’m] sorry for all of this.”

The suspect allegedly then told members of the chat that he would be surrendering to the sheriff momentarily and thanked the group for “all the good times and laughs,” the outlet reported.

Discord gave the chat messages to law enforcement to use in their case against Robinson, the outlet reported, citing a source familiar. The company previously said it found “no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence on Discord.”

Robinson, embracing leftist views, climbed a stairwell to the rooftop of a building near UVU and fatally shot Kirk in the neck with a rifle while he debated students during an outdoor event, officials have alleged. He also discussed leaving a rifle at a “drop point” with a roommate on Discord, according to a criminal affidavit. Robinson turned himself in to authorities after his father confronted him about the shooting and a family friend contacted the U.S. Marshals Service, CBS News reported. FBI ‘Far Ahead’: Chaffetz Says FBI Director “Knows What He’s Doing,” Confirms More Info in Charlie Kirk Investigation

Former U.S. Representative Jason Chaffetz (R‑Utah) has expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, asserting that FBI Director Kash Patel “knows what he’s doing” and that federal investigators have “far more information” than they’ve made public so far.

Chaffetz made these remarks on Fox News after speaking with both Director Patel and President Donald Trump about the tragic killing. The 31‑year‑old Kirk was shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University, and as of Thursday, authorities have yet to apprehend a suspect. Initial reports of people in custody have since been clarified: a “person of interest” was detained and later released following interrogation.

Federal agents found a high‑powered bolt‑action rifle believed to be the shooting weapon. It was discovered in a wooded area connected to the escape route of the suspected shooter. Investigators also collected forensic evidence including footwear impressions, palm and forearm prints.

The FBI released images of a person of interest who resembles a college‑aged male seen in student‑crowded areas near the site. The person is pictured wearing sunglasses, a dark baseball cap, a long‑sleeve shirt, and what appears to be clothing featuring U.S. flag imagery. Investigators are asking the public to come forward with tips.

Director Patel initially stated the “subject” was in custody but later clarified the individual had been released after being questioned. Local officials confirmed those detained are being treated as persons of interest, not confirmed suspects.

Chaffetz told Fox News that his discussions with Patel and President Trump left him convinced the FBI has significantly more intelligence than is currently being disclosed to the public. He emphasized the need for patience and cautioned against jumping to conclusions while the case is still developing.

“Director Patel is not going to release everything before we have a solid case,” Chaffetz said, according to sources. “But from everything I’ve seen, they’ve already got leads that will matter.”

The investigation is ongoing, with federal, state, and local authorities collaborating. As more evidence is processed and verified, officials say additional details will be released.

University Dean Fired For Saying She Had ‘ZERO Sympathy’ For Charlie Kirk

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) fired its assistant dean on Wednesday after she blatantly said she had “zero sympathy” for Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s death.

Laura Sosh-Lightsy, the now-former assistant dean, wrote on Facebook that Kirk “spoke his fate into existence” by getting shot in the neck during an event at Utah Valley University, screenshots posted by Arlington GOP chairman Matthew Hurtt show. A statement from MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee announced that the university instantly fired Sosh-Lightsy for the “inappropriate and callous comments” made about Kirk.

“Looks like ol’ Charlie spoke his fate into existence,” Sosh-Lightsy said. “Hate begets hate. ZERO Sympathy.”

“An MTSU employee today offered inappropriate and callous comments on social media concerning the horrific and tragic murder of Charlie Kirk. The comments by this employee, who worked in a position of trust directly with students, were inconsistent with our values and have undermined the university’s credibility and reputation with our students, faculty, staff and the community at large. This employee has been fired effective immediately. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Kirk family,” McPhee said in the statement.

The fired assistant dean wrote in a follow-up Facebook post that “hate begets hate” and that she does not feel sorry for the death of Kirk. She appears to have deleted her Facebook account. (Read more from “University Dean Fired For Saying She Had ‘ZERO Sympathy’ For Charlie Kirk” HERE)

Gun Recovered in Charlie Kirk Assassination Revealed — And Ammo Bore Pro-Trans, Anti-Fascist Messages: Sources; A Potential Break in Charlie Kirk Assassination Investigation as Authorities Postpone Press Conference Due to “Rapid Developments”

A rifle recovered in the hunt for conservative influencer Charlie Kirk’s assassin contained ammo engraved with “transgender and anti-fascist ideology,” according to preliminary reports from law enforcement sources.

The weapon — an imported .30-06-caliber Mauser bolt-action rifle — was discovered wrapped in a towel by investigators in a wooded area following the killing of the conservative leading light, who was shot once while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, according to the memo.

A source familiar noted that the Justice Department is investigating the descriptions alleged in the ATF memo, but that the agency was unable to confirm that the description matched the evidence recovered at the scene.

Kirk, 31, was struck in the neck by a single shot fired from a distance of around 200 yards while answering an audience member’s question about mass shootings committed by transgender people.

Sources said they believe the fatal shot was a high-caliber round — similar to the ammo used in long-range sniper rifles or for hunting big game.

The father of two and Turning Point USA founder was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. (Read more. from “Gun Recovered in Charlie Kirk Assassination Revealed — And Ammo Bore Pro-Trans, Anti-Fascist Messages: Sources” HERE)

Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk Fatally Shot at Utah University; No Arrests Made (VIDEO)

Charlie Kirk, the prominent conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed Wednesday during a speaking event at Utah Valley University (UVU). He was 31 years old.

The fatal incident occurred during the opening stop of Kirk’s “American Comeback Tour.” The event, held under a white tent on the UVU campus, was open to the public and had drawn both supporters and critics. According to witnesses and video footage, a single gunshot rang out as Kirk addressed the crowd. He was seen reaching for his neck before collapsing, as panicked attendees fled the scene.

Kirk was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. Officials have not yet confirmed the shooter’s identity, and no suspect is currently in custody—despite initial reports from the university suggesting an arrest had been made.

Former President Donald Trump confirmed Kirk’s death on Truth Social, calling him a “great” and “legendary” figure.

“No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump wrote. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me… Melania and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Kirk had long been a close ally of Trump, championing his policies on college campuses and becoming one of the most recognizable faces in conservative youth politics.

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have launched a joint investigation. UVU campus security is working in coordination with federal authorities.

According to law enforcement sources, the shot may have come from a distance, possibly from a nearby building. No weapon has been recovered as of Thursday morning.

Kirk’s appearance on campus had stirred tension in the days leading up to the event. The UVU Review, the university’s student-run newspaper, reported student opposition to his presence. Despite those protests, the event proceeded with an open invitation to the public.

In the hours following the attack, lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle issued statements condemning political violence and calling for unity.

“We may not agree with one another, but violence is never the answer,” said Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). “This was a cowardly act against a young man exercising his right to free speech.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) called the shooting “a tragedy and a threat to civil discourse in America.”

Charlie Kirk rose to national prominence after founding Turning Point USA in 2012 at just 18 years old. The organization aimed to promote conservative values among young Americans, particularly on high school and college campuses. He later became a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and was known for hosting high-energy campus events, debates, and podcast appearances.

Over the past decade, Kirk became a polarizing figure in American politics. Supporters praised him as a bold defender of conservative values.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika Frantzve — a podcaster and entrepreneur — and their two young children.
