Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bomb Threat

A United Airlines flight on its way to Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing in Missouri Sunday after a passenger said there was a bomb in his wife’s luggage, according to reports and authorities.

United Flight 380 from Dallas to Chicago landed in St. Louis on Sunday morning due to a potential security concern, a United Airlines spokesperson said in a statement to The Post.

The plane was diverted to St. Louis Lambert International Airport around 8:40 a.m. after a man said there was a bomb in a piece of his wife’s luggage, sources told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The allegedly unwieldy man was arrested, the outlet said.

His identity or whether he has been charged is not immediately clear.

All 119 passengers were promptly evacuated and waited on the concourse upon landing, the airport’s director, Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, told the outlet. (Read more from “Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bomb Threat” HERE)

Trump Admin Launches ‘Operation Midway Blitz’ to Target Illegal Immigration, Fight Violent Crime in Chicago

The Department of Homeland Security kicked off a crackdown on illegal immigrants in Chicago Monday — after local Democrats spent the weekend protesting President Trump’s threat of a federal law enforcement surge in America’s third-largest city.

“DHS is launching Operation Midway Blitz in honor of Katie Abraham who was killed in a drunk driving hit-and-run car wreck caused by criminal illegal alien Julio Cucul-Bol in Illinois,” the department announced on X..

“This ICE operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew [Democratic] Governor [JB] Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets.”

The statement concluded: “President Trump and [DHS] Secretary [Kristi] Noem stand with the victims of illegal alien crime while Governor Pritzker stands with criminal illegal aliens.”

ICE has been positioning staff to carry out operations in the Windy City for more than a week, leading sources to say that a crackdown was imminent. (Read more from “Trump Admin Launches ‘Operation Midway Blitz’ to Target Illegal Immigration, Fight Violent Crime in Chicago” HERE)

Chicago Public Schools Pays $2.6M For Allegedly Forcing Students To Participate In Hindu Ritual

When a school program tells students not to tell their religious parents about an activity, there is a problem. That is what reportedly happened in Chicago Public Schools when it allegedly forced students to practice Hindu-based Transcendental Meditation (TM) twice a day.

This week the Chicago Board of Education and the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace settled a class action lawsuit, agreeing to pay out $2.6 million to former Chicago Public Schools high school students who say they were forced to participate in TM for 15-20 minutes in the morning and again in the afternoon.

Court papers show the board of education first signed a $170,000 contract with the foundation to implement its “Quiet Time” program from March through June 2018.

“The key component of Quiet Time is an evidence-based stress reduction and cognitive development technique known as Transcendental Meditation. … If youth choose not to meditate, they are free to select another quiet activity such as sustained silent reading, resting, or quiet sitting,” the contract reads.

But former student Kaya Hudgins, now 22, testified in a deposition that she was told Quiet Time participation was mandatory. And, although the contract calls for permission slips to be signed by parents, Hudgins said students were told not to tell their parents. Hudgins, who grew up in a Muslim home, was 16 when the Chicago school allegedly started to indoctrinate her into TM. Hudgins said she asked if she could do some of her five daily prayers instead during Quiet Time and was denied, and she was sent to the dean’s office for complaining about the program. Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of Chicago Becomes First American Pope

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of Chicago was chosen by the College of Cardinals to be the new pope of the Catholic Church, making him the first American pope in the Church’s 2,000-year history. The Chicago native chose the papal name Leo XIV. White smoke appeared above the Sistine Chapel at approximately 6:08 p.m. Rome time, followed by the chiming of the Vatican’s bells, which confirmed for the faithful that a new successor to the See of St. Peter the Apostle was indeed chosen.

Here is an English translation of the full transcript of Pope Leo XIV’s first address:

Peace be with all of you! Dearest brothers and sisters, this is the first greeting of the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd who gave His life for God’s flock.

I, too, would like this greeting of peace to enter your hearts, to reach your families, and all people, wherever they are, all of the people, all over the earth.

Peace be with you!

This is the peace of the Risen Christ, an unarmed peace and a disarming peace, humble and persevering. It comes from God, God who loves us all unconditionally. We still have in our ears that weak, but always courageous voice of Pope Francis as he blessed Rome!

The Pope who blessed Rome, gave his blessing to the world, to the entire world, that Easter morning. Allow me to follow up on that same blessing: God loves us, God loves you all, and evil will not prevail!

We are all in the hands of God.

Therefore, without fear, united hand in hand with God and among ourselves, we move forward. We are disciples of Christ.

Christ precedes us. The world needs His light. Humanity needs Him as the bridge to allows it to be reached by God and by His love.

Help us, too, and help each other to build bridges, with dialogue, with meetings, uniting us all to be one people, always in peace. Thank you, Pope Francis! I also want to thank all my brother cardinals who have chosen me to be Peter’s Successor, and to walk together with you, as a united Church always seeking peace, justice, always seeking to work as men and women who are faithful to Jesus Christ, without fear, to proclaim the Gospel, to be missionaries.

I am a son of Saint Augustine, an Augustinian, who said: “with you I am a Christian and for you I am a bishop.” In this sense, we can all walk together towards that homeland that God has prepared for us.

To the Church of Rome, a special greeting! We must seek together how to be a missionary Church, a Church that builds bridges, dialogue, always open to receive like this square with its open arms, all, all who need our charity, our presence, dialogue, and love.

And if you allow me a word, a greeting to all and especially to my beloved diocese of Chiclayo, in Peru, where a faithful people accompanied their bishop, shared their faith and gave so, so much to continue being a Church that is faithful to Jesus Christ.

To all of you, brothers and sisters of Rome, of Italy, of the whole world, we want to be a Church of the Synod, a Church that walks, a Church that always seeks peace, that always seeks charity, that always seeks to be close, especially to those who suffer.

Today is the day of the Supplication to Our Lady of Pompeii. Our Mother Mary always wants to walk with us, to be close, to help us with her intercession and her love. So, I would like to pray together with you. Let us pray together for this new mission, for the whole Church, for peace in the world and let us also ask Mary, our Mother, for this special grace.

[Began the recitation of the Hail Mary in Latin.]

Complaint: Education Board Violates Title IX By Forcing Students To Share Restrooms With Opposite Sex

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) face a federal civil rights complaint challenging their policies that require students to use facilities like restrooms and locker rooms with students of the opposite sex.

The Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) and the Liberty Justice Center (LJC) filed the Title IX complaint with the U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday stating that both ISBE and CPS are complying with a state law “forcing students to share bathrooms, locker rooms, and overnight accommodations with members of the opposite sex, based solely on self-declared ‘gender identity.’” That law is in conflict with federal law as well as multiple court rulings overturning the Biden administration’s attempt to redefine sex, the complaint says, adding that the Illinois schools either need to comply with the civil rights law or lose federal funding.

“Congress intended Title IX to ensure that schools provide equal educational opportunities without regard to sex, not to erase biological reality and force women and girls into uncomfortable and unsafe situations that violate the very law designed to protect them,” DFI President and Co-Founder Bob Eitel said in a press release. “ISBE and CPS are pushing radical policies that prioritize ideology over student safety and privacy and parental rights. We will not stand by while states and school districts sacrifice civil rights on the altar of gender ideology. We urge the U.S. Department of Education to investigate this matter and, if necessary, move to terminate federal funding until ISBE and CPS comply with the law.”

ISBE’s and CPS’s policies not only force students into intimate, private spaces with the opposite sex but go further to say that students who are uncomfortable with the arrangement must themselves find separate accommodations, which continues the “subordination of sex to ‘gender identity,’” the complaint states.

Moreover, the Illinois schools include parental exclusion policies that disallow school officials from informing parents if their child begins to identify as transgender and letting a child pursue a “social transition” in secret. AG Pam Bondi Takes Immediate Action, Sues Illinois and Chicago Over Sanctuary City Policies

Newly confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi took swift action on Thursday, suing Illinois and Chicago to enforce immigration law.

Bondi’s suit, one of her first actions in her post, contends the state’s and city’s sanctuary city policies are unlawful and seeks to have them deemed “invalid.”

“I will restore integrity to the Justice Department, and I will fight violent crime throughout this country and throughout this world and make America safe again,” Bondi said Wednesday after being sworn in as attorney general.

Justice Department filed the complaint in Chicago federal court.

“By refusing to honor civil detainers and warrants expressly authorized by Congress, Defendants have unlawfully eliminated these means for federal immigrations officials to carry out their statutory functions,” the complaint stated. Unbelievable: Guess What an Illegal Alien Accused of Murder Was Wearing During the Crime

. . .[A] 63-year-old man was brutally murdered and robbed in Chicago slightly over a week ago. The two suspects apprehended in the case are both illegal immigrants who reportedly crossed the Southern border unlawfully in 2023. The victim’s “body was found tied up at his home in Chicago late Sunday, the same day U.S. border czar Tom Homan and the Justice Department led a large immigration enforcement operation in that city,” Fox News reports. Those raids, which didn’t occur in time to save the man who was murdered, have been condemned, demonized and resisted by the mayor and other top Democrats in Illinois. One of arrested migrants was not only known to police prior to allegedly committing this brutal killing, but had been arrested days prior:

A 21-year-old man who was arrested in Norwood Park on Jan. 12 in connection with a reported child luring incident is now facing charges in the murder and robbery of a 63-year-old man who on Jan. 26 died in the basement of a relative’s home, also in Norwood Park on Chicago’s NW Side. A possible second suspect, who reportedly lives in Norwood Park, also is in custody for the murder of George Levin…he luring incident on Jan. 12 involved a man who reportedly called two girls, ages 12 and 13, over to his vehicle in the 6200 block of North Sayre Avenue, according to Chicago police. The man was arrested on suspicion of child luring, but the charge was reduced to simple assault, and he was released from custody the next day, police said.

Despite the arrest on suspicion of trying to lure two young girls into his car — which, as the story notes, was downgraded to a simple assault arrest — he was turned back onto the streets almost immediately. Chicago police were, of course, barred by “sanctuary” policies from involving the feds in the situation, actively protecting this illegal immigrant. Roughly two weeks later, the very same department was was pursing that very same illegal immigrant for murder. Both suspects have been charged with murder and robbery. I’ve heard that an ICE detainer was placed on that suspect over the luring arrest, but it was explicitly not honored, per Chicago’s pro-crime, pro-illegal immigration policies. It gets worse. Fox’s Matt Finn reveals more shocking details, starting with the very first bullet point here:

Bello (suspect) was wearing an ICE/DHS monitoring device on his ankle during alleged murder.

– Victim’s sister heard loud noises upstairs, checked-in & her brother’s alleged killer’s assured her brother is ok. After they left, she eventually breaks down brother’s door and “discovered him on the floor, cold to the touch, his hands wrapped together in duct tape, his feet tied together with an electrical cord, a sock stuffed in his mouth and securedin place with duct tape, and his pants down, exposing his genitals. Sister peeled away enough of the duct tape from the V’s mouth to remove the sock, called 911, and performed CPR while she waited for emergency responders to arrive. The victim sustained a hemorrhage to the neck, a subdural hemorrhage to the head, and rib fractures. The Medical Examiner discovered petechiae in the V’s eyes and cannot yet rule out asphyxiation.”

‘This Policy Is Dangerous’: Democrats Fight To Roll Back City’s Sanctuary Law, Help Trump Deport Criminals

A pair of Chicago aldermen have introduced legislation that would roll back the city’s sanctuary law currently forbidding any cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities, but their efforts face stiff odds in a city council dominated by liberal members.

Raymond Lopez and Silvana Tabares, both Democrats, filed a proposed amendment to Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance, which calls for exceptions when a migrant has been arrested or convicted of certain criminal activities. The aldermen argued in a public statement that it’s in the best interest of the city’s immigrant community to work with the incoming Trump administration in situations where wanted illegal migrants are involved in heinous crimes.

“We believe that the best way to protect law-abiding non-citizens from the returning Trump Administration is by working with them in apprehending their priority targets: non-citizens that CHOOSE to engage in dangerous, illegal activity once they are in the United States,” Lopez said in a public statement. “Our current [Welcoming City Ordinance] prohibits any coordination or cooperation, even in the most heinous situations.”

“This policy is dangerous to those law-abiding undocumented and non-citizens residents because, if someone is arrested or convicted of crimes, the federal authorities aren’t notified,” he continued. “Should the federal government go looking for those specific individuals seeking to deport them, there is a high probability that other targets, law-abiding undocumented and non-citizen residents, may be apprehended and deported as collateral damage. That is an entirely unacceptable yet avoidable situation.” (Read more from “‘This Policy Is Dangerous’: Democrats Fight To Roll Back City’s Sanctuary Law, Help Trump Deport Criminals” HERE)

Americans Cast Judgment on Democrats’ Plan to Completely Change the Supreme Court

A new nationwide survey highlighted in a Wall Street Journal opinion editorial found that most Americans don’t support sweeping changes to the Supreme Court, despite President Biden’s last-minute push for such a measure.

The WSJ cited a Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy survey that found “support for the separation of powers just as many of the speakers at this week’s Democratic National Convention seek to undermine it.”

President Biden, after abruptly leaving the presidential race a month ago, endorsed legislation that would impose term limits for justices, among other things, that would drastically alter the makeup of the high court. His plan is also of questionable constitutionality.

According to the Journal, the Mason-Dixon poll found that after asking likely voters if they “support or oppose amending the U.S. Constitution to change the structure of the U.S. Supreme Court,” 52% of them oppose the idea, while 41% of likely voters support the idea of amending the constitution to change the court’s structure.

Noting that for “over 150 years, the United States Supreme Court has had nine justices” and that court-packing “is generally defined as increasing the number of Supreme Court seats, primarily to alter the ideological balance of the court,” the poll asked respondents if they agree with “court-packing.” (Read more from “Americans Cast Judgment on Democrats’ Plan to Completely Change the Supreme Court” HERE)
