Gun-Controlled Chicago: At Least 68 Shot, 5 Killed, over July 4th Weekend

By Breitbart. At least 66 people were shot, five fatally, over July Fourth weekend in gun-controlled Chicago.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that a woman was killed “before dawn” July 4, 2019, on West Wilcox Street. “Another man was killed and three others were wounded in Humboldt Park on the West Side” during an 11:30 am drive-by shooting on July 4.

A 37-year-old man named Oliver Booth was shot and killed around 2:47 am Friday. Minutes later, at roughly 2:55 am, 22-year-old Akeelah D. Addison was shot in the head and killed “in the 4200 block of South Wells Street in Fuller Park.” . . .

Three other individuals were shot and wounded around 9:10 pm Saturday in the South Side’s Bronzeville neighborhood. 68 Shot, 5 Fatally, in 4th of July Weekend Gun Violence Across Chicago

By ABC News. . .A 31-year-old man was struck in the leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said. A woman, 22, was shot in the back and taken to the same hospital. Her condition was stabilized. Police say a 21-year-old woman who was shot in the foot had her condition stabilized at St. Bernard Hospital. Another woman, 32, was hit in the leg and her was condition stabilized at Stroger Hospital.

Area South detectives are investigating.

A 28-year-old man was wounded in a different shooting Sunday in Lawndale, police said.

He was walking on a sidewalk about 2:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Homan Avenue when a male approached on foot and opened fire, Chicago police said. . .

A man and woman, both 25, were taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. The man had gunshot wounds to the back and buttocks, and his condition was stabilized. Video Footage of Jussie Smollett with Rope Around His Neck Released by Chicago Police

Chicago police released hundreds of files and nearly 70 hours of video footage on Monday from the investigation into Jussie Smollett’s claim back in January that he was attacked by two men — a claim that police later characterized as a hoax.

In one of the videos, police body-cam footage showed Smollett — with his face blurred — wearing a white rope that he told detectives his attackers looped around his neck. When one of the officers asked Smollett if he wanted to take the rope off of his neck, the 37-year-old actor did while stating: “Yeah. I do. I just wanted you all to see it.” . . .

Investigators went on to tell him that they were recording the visit, to which he said: “I don’t want to be filmed.” The officers then turned off their body cams.

Many files contained surveillance-camera footage that police collected as they launched what they initially called a hate-crime investigation. They also included footage from what appeared to be the route police said the two brothers who participated in the alleged staged January attack took to and from the scene.

The release marked the latest chapter in a story that began with Smollett’s allegations that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack. He eventually was arrested on charges that he lied to police, but prosecutors later dismissed the charges. Pro-Gun Control Chicago Has 52 Shot, 10 Killed in One Weekend

Chicago finished last year with a downturn in shootings and homicides, but 2019 is threatening to reverse whatever progress was made in the last months of 2018, and with the weather turning warmer, it seems Chicagoans are determined to have a bloody summer.

Over the weekend, Chicago saw its most violent days and nights so far this year. A total of 52 people were shot between Friday night and Sunday night. Ten of those victims were killed, according to NBC News.

Chicago police superintendent Eddie Johnson called the incidents part of a “despicable level of violence,” and promised targeted patrols in neighborhoods on the south and west side where violence has become a regular part of everyday life, thanks to increases in gang activity.

Johnson did note that police likely prevented a bloodier couple of days; over the course of the weekend, officers confiscated approximately 90 firearms, “nearly double the amount of guns that we take in during a particular weekend.” Nearly 20 people were arrested on firearms charges alone.

Chicago had hoped for an immediate downward trend, as Lori Lightfoot took over the mayor’s office from Rahm Emanuel, who often found himself incapable of handling such intense levels of violence, but as Lightfoot herself pointed out last week, handling the gang warfare taking place on the city’s south and west sides will take time and a lot of police and community cooperation. Jussie Smollett Is Partying It up in Hawaii, but He’s Not Exactly in the Clear Yet

By The Daily Caller. Jussie Smollett was spotted laughing and catching some rays during a vacation to the Big Island, but carefree Smollett could be facing more rough waters as he’s not exactly in the clear over his alleged hate crime hoax.

Smollett Vacations After Charges Are Dropped

By The Daily Caller. Smollett’s lawyer Mark Geragos claims that the city of Chicago is working to defame Smollett and that if the city sues, they will countersue.

Geragos wrote in a letter to the city that Smollett “vehemently denies making any false statements,” echoing what the actor said during a press conference following his charges being dropped. . .

Despite the drama surrounding the embattled actor, “Empire” co-star Taraji P. Henson claims that Smollett will be back for the sixth season. Chicago Sends Bill to Jussie Smollett – Here’s What It’s For

The city of Chicago sent a letter to Jussie Smollett on Thursday demanding the actor pay $130,000 to the city to offset the costs associated with investigating the alleged hate crime hoax he is accused of concocting. . .

ABC 7 Chicago reports that “the money the city requested in the letter sent Thursday is separate from the $10,000 bond that Smollett forfeited as a condition of the charges against him being dropped.”

“This is a reasonable and legally justifiable amount to collect to help offset the cost of the investigation,” said Bill McCaffrey, a spokesperson for the Department of Buildings.

The Daily Wire reported earlier on Thursday that during an interview with WGN News on Thursday morning, Chicago Democrat Mayor Rahm Emanuel said that the city of Chicago was calculating a bill to send to Smollett.

“The police are assembling the cost [of the investigation],” Emanuel said. “They’ll do that and then the corporation counsel of the city of Chicago will communicate to Jussie Smollett and his legal team about recouping that cost in that effort. And, given that he doesn’t feel any sense of contrition and remorse, my recommendation is when he writes the check, in the memo section he can put the word, ‘I’m accountable’ for the hoax.”

New Theory Surfaces in Jussie Smollett Hoax

By The Blaze. Actor Jussie Smollett was arrested this week for filing a false police report after Chicago Police say he orchestrated a hate crime hoax against himself. Authorities alleged two Nigerian brothers helped Smollett carry out the hoax.

But on Saturday, a new theory surfaced alleging reality is not what law enforcement say it is. . .

Chicago Police said Thursday that Smollett paid two Nigerian brothers — Olabinjo Osundairo, 27, and Abimbola Osundairo, 25 — $3,500 each for their help in carrying out the fake attack. Authorities said Smollett paid the brothers with checks.

But TMZ reported Saturday that “sources connected to the case” say the money Smollett paid the Osundairo brothers was not for the alleged fake attack. Instead, Smollett paid the brothers to help train him in the gym. . .

Police Say Jussie Smollett Paid Two Men by Check to Stage Attack; ‘This Publicity Stunt Was a Scar That Chicago Didn’t Earn’

By CBS Chicago. Accusing him of slapping the city in the face, Chicago police announced Thursday that “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett had been charged with concocting an attack in Streeterville, because “he was dissatisfied with his salary.”

“Smollett took advantage of the pain and anger of racism to promote his career,” Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said at a news conference Thursday morning. “This publicity stunt was a scar that Chicago didn’t earn, and certainly didn’t deserve.”

Smollett turned himself in to Chicago police early Thursday morning, hours after he was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly staging a racist and homophobic attack against himself last month in Streeterville. Smollett turned himself in at the Central District police station at 18th and State streets around 5 a.m., police said. He made no statement to police. Report Reveals What Jussie Smollett Allegedly Did Hours Before Attack

Hours before he was allegedly attacked in Chicago, Jussie Smollett reportedly participated in a reading of a play in New York City that was similar to the alleged attack.

“He had been in New York City for a reading of the play Take Me Out, with sources telling DailyMail.com that Smollett was being considered to appear in a possible revival of the Tony-winning production about a biracial baseball star who comes out as gay,” The Daily Mail reported. “The script for that play finds the lead character being attacked by a new pitcher who joins the team. That character uses the same racial slurs Smollett told police his attackers screamed at him, including ‘f****t’ and ‘n****r.'”

Local Chicago media reported on Monday that sources indicated that they believe that Smollett orchestrated the attack on himself because there was not a “bigger reaction” to an allegedly racist letter that he received a week before the attack.

The latest developments in the Smollett case come after the case turned a corner late last week. CBS Chicago reported on Saturday:

Sources told CBS 2 News that Smollett paid the two men $3,500 to stage the attack in Streeterville. The brothers, seen on surveillance video near the scene of the alleged attack, told investigators Smollett directed them to buy the rope used in the incident, and paid for the purchase at Crafty Beaver Hardware Store in Ravenswood days before the incident.

UN Peacekeepers Coming to US? Chicago Official Meets With UN Asst. Secretary General, Requests Deployment of UN Troops

Chicago official, Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin recently met with the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations during which he requested that the world governing body send troops onto the violence-plagued streets of Chicago.

While no one can deny the fact that Chicago is essentially a war zone, the fact that a liberal city commissioner is planning to use United Nations peacekeepers to confront said violence should send shockwaves down the spine of any freedom-loving American.

“We are headed to the United Nations to meet with the assistant secretary general to talk about the violence in Chicago, the gun violence in particular, the bloodshed that is taking place in too many of our communities,” Boykin said at a press conference before the meeting.

Boykin then went on to stunningly reveal that he is actually seeking to have the United Nations police the civilian population in Chicago.

“I’m hoping to appeal to the UN to actually come to Chicago and meet with victims of violence, and maybe even possibly help out in terms of peacekeeping efforts,” Boykin continued.

After being asked by a reporter why he believes using UN troops to curb violence rather than actual American police would be a good idea, Boykin revealed that he does indeed want the requested troops to essentially become the police in Chicago.

“They have been able to help in places like Africa, where they have sent troops in, sent forces in, to help protect minority and vulnerable populations, so frankly I think the same can be said for here in Chicago,” said Boykin.

While so-called conspiracy theorists have long believed that globalist forces would eventually send United Nations troops to the streets of America, we now have absolute, 100% proof that this is indeed the plan.

Liberal leaders in Chicago are now openly planning to declare martial law, complete with UN shock troops on the streets to police the American population. Journalist Accuses Jesse Jackson of Sexual Harassment

Civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson has been accused of sexual harassment by a journalist who says the Chicago community leader grabbed her thigh while making a crude comment.

Writer Danielle Young, in an article for “The Root,” accused Jackson of making the “unwanted” advance and comment during a photo-op after a media event.

“I walked toward Jackson, smiling, and he smiled back at me,” Young wrote. “His eyes scanned my entire body. All of a sudden, I felt naked in my sweater and jeans. As I walked within arm’s reach of him, Jackson reached out a hand and grabbed my thigh, saying, ‘I like all of that right there!’ and gave my thigh a tight squeeze.”

The post included several photos of the encounter in which Young writes “don’t let the smile fool you. I’m cringing on the inside.”

Chicago’s Newest Problem Is an Invasion of ZOMBIE DOGS

The police department in the Chicago suburb of Hanover Park is warning local residents to stay away from diseased coyotes which have lost a bunch of hair and look “like some sort of ‘zombie’ dog.”

“Recently we have received several messages and posts from citizens concerned about what appear to be malnourished or neglected stray dogs,” the Hanover Park police department says in a Facebook announcement. “These are NOT lost pets, but are in fact coyotes.”

“There is unfortunately an increase in sarcoptic mange in the urban coyote populations which has caused these normally noctural animals to become more active during the day. Infected animals will often appear “mangy” — which looks just like it sounds,” the police department’s Facebook page also says.
