U.S. Army’s New Top Priority: Climate Change

The United States Army published a bulletin last week revealing what the military branch considers a grave threat that may jeopardize U.S. national security: climate change. . .

The document — published by the assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy and environment — claims “climate change is a serious threat to U.S. National security interests and defense objectives.”

“Warming temperatures open new theaters of operations for military and commercial use, while extreme weather events and rising sea levels threaten infrastructure and economic output, trigger large-scale population displacement, migration and exacerbate food and water insecurity,” the bulletin claims.

Because of these alleged threats, the Army will now be “prioritizing climate change” in strategic defense plans. The new focus appears to be directly related to President Joe Biden’s agenda, which emphasizes addressing climate change threats.

The Defense Department, in fact, has already established the “Department of Defense Climate Working Group,” a new office that will coordinate the Defense Department’s ongoing response to climate change. (Read more from “U.S. Army’s New Top Priority: Climate Change” HERE)

Beef Recipes No Longer Being Posted by Top Cooking Site, Here’s the Ridiculous Reason Why

Beef: It’s what’s not for dinner at a top website for recipes, because we’re in a climate crisis, and are you some kind of denier, sir? How dare you?

In perhaps the most laughable bit of climate virtue-signaling you’d have seen last week or any other, Epicurious announced it was no longer going to feature new recipes featuring anything from our friend the cow because they’ve “cut out beef.”

“For any person — or publication — wanting to envision a more sustainable way to cook, cutting out beef is a worthwhile first step,” Epicurious’ David Tamarkin and Maggie Hoffman wrote in an April 26 piece. House GOP Under Pressure From Allies to Support Planks of Democratic Climate Plan

GOP and business groups are pressing House Republicans to support components of a sweeping climate plan proposed by Democrats last week.

House Republicans have accused Democratic leaders of a special climate change committee that released the plan of violating committee rules by issuing the proposal on a partisan basis, without including GOP members as originally expected.

But GOP policy advocates and allied groups say House Republicans should not let bitterness get in the way of working with Democrats, even in an election year, on concepts such as promoting pre-disaster mitigation, spending and tax credits for clean energy technologies, and modernizing the electricity grid.

“I sure hope the well hasn’t been that poisoned,” said Marty Durbin, the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Energy Institute. “There is a lot in here you can find consensus between parties and the business community. An election year is no excuse for not getting things done.”

Democrats’ 500-plus page plan to “solve the climate crisis,” compiled over a year and a half, includes a grab bag of aggressive policies. The agenda is a response to Democratic voters who have rated climate change a top area of concern. Noted Environmentalist Apologizes for ‘Climate Scare’ Foisted on Public for Decades

Michael Shellenberger is no slouch when it comes to environmental issues.

Besides his TED talks garnering more than 5 million views, he’s a Green Book Award Winner, a frequent contributor to publications such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Scientific American — and he also authored “Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All,” which was released Tuesday by HarperCollins.

But Shellenberger said a Forbes article — “On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologize for the Climate Scare” — based on his new book was soon “censored” soon after it went up Sunday. The Daily Wire reported that his piece was taken down from the Forbes website “a few hours” after it was published. The Forbes site on Tuesday showed where Shellenberger’s article should be — but only says it’s “no longer active.”

. . .Here’s how Shellenberger opens his article: “On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years. Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem.”

Crickets From Green Groups as Trump Makes U.S. ‘Global Leader in Emissions Reductions’

Under President Trump, the United States led the world in reducing carbon-dioxide emissions in 2019, but don’t expect Greta Thunberg to give him a hug any time soon.

International Energy Agency data released earlier this month showing that U.S. emissions dropped by 2.9% last year failed to make an impression with Democrats, environmentalists and climate activists, who either shrugged off the data or argued that Mr. Trump’s climate-denialism was somehow thwarted.

“U.S. carbon emissions declined last year in spite of every effort by the Trump administration to prop up dirty energy,” said David Doniger, senior strategic director of the Climate & Clean Energy Program at the National Resources Defense Council, in an email. . .

At the same time, the climate skeptics who have backed Mr. Trump’s push to boost coal, bring back manufacturing, and pull out of the Paris agreement warned against doing backflips over the continued U.S. decline in greenhouse gases.

Myron Ebell, director of the Center for Energy and the Environment at the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, said that cheering the reduction surrenders the field to the climate-change movement. Professor Claims the Way to Fight Climate Change Is to Let Human Race Become Instinct

A Cambridge academic has proposed a radical new way to solve climate change – letting humanity become extinct.

Patricia MacCormack, a professor of continental philosophy at Anglia Ruskin University, has just released her new book The Ahuman Manifesto, which will officially be launched in Cambridge. . .

The book argues that due to the damage done to other living creatures on Earth, we should start gradually phasing out reproduction. But rather than offering a bleak look at the future of humanity, it has generated discussion due to its joyful and optimistic tone, as it sets out a positive view for the future of Earth – without mankind. . .

“The basic premise of the book is that we’re in the age of the Anthropocene, humanity has caused mass problems and one of them is creating this hierarchal world where white, male, heterosexual and able-bodied people are succeeding, and people of different races, genders, sexualities and those with disabilities are struggling to get that. . .

The central argument in The Ahuman Manifesto can be boiled down to this: mankind is already enslaved to the point of “zombiedom” by capitalism, and because of the damage this has caused, phasing out reproduction is the only way to repair the damage done to the world. SEE IT: Climate Activists Try to Stop Freight Train Hauling Coal

An environmental reporter in Massachusetts posted a video on Twitter late Monday that she said showed a freight train hauling coal being met with a group of climate change activists on a dark track.

The train was seen moving slowly through Worchester, Mass., and about a dozen activists with small lights could be seen surrounding the tracks. The train’s horn was blaring, but the activists appeared to continue to give it chase. The train was headed to New Hampshire, the reporter wrote.

Miriam Wasser, a reporter for WBUR, Boston’s NPR station, posted the clip and wrote that the train was alerted about people on the track after a call to the emergency hotline. Greta Thunberg Tweets Pic of Herself on ‘Overcrowded’ Train. Train Company Reveals The REAL Story

Far-left climate extremist Greta Thunberg tweeted a photograph of herself riding on a train over the weekend that showed her sitting on the floor while complaining about the train supposedly being “overcrowded” which earned a sharp response from the train.

The Guardian reported that in a two-part tweet, Deutsche Bahn (DB) responded to Thunberg’s tweet, writing, “Dear Greta, thank you for supporting us railroaders in the fight against climate change! We were happy that you travelled with us on Saturday in the ICE 74 … but it would have been even nicer had you also reported how friendly and competently you were looked after by our team at your seat in the first class.”

After being repeatedly mocked online over the incident, Thunberg claimed, “Our train from Basel was taken out of traffic. So we sat on the floor on 2 different trains. After Göttingen I got a seat. This is no problem of course and I never said it was. Overcrowded trains is a great sign because it means the demand for train travel is high!”

Thunberg has been at the center of controversy over her push for extreme climate proposals and has been mocked by leaders around the world, and was even mocked in the most recent episode of South Park. Defeated Greta Whines Climate Strikes Have ‘Achieved Nothing,’ Claims People Are ‘Dying Today’

On Friday, far-left activist Greta Thunberg struck a somber, defeatist tone while speaking to fellow climate activists gathered at the United Nations climate talks in Madrid, Spain.

The Swedish teen complained that school climate strikes have “achieved nothing” and claimed that opponents of her radical agenda are trying to “silence” her and her supporters. Thunberg also claimed people are currently “suffering and dying” due to effects of supposed man-made climate change.

“The global wave of school strikes for the climate over the past year has ‘achieved nothing’ because greenhouse gas emissions have continued to rise,” Thunberg reportedly told fellow activists, according to The Guardian. . .

“We can’t go on like this; it is not sustainable that children skip school and we don’t want to continue – we would love some action from the people in power. People are suffering and dying today. We can’t wait any longer,” Thunberg warned. . .

Writer Declares: ‘I Got a Vasectomy Because of Climate Change’

Wes Siler is Outside magazine’s Indefinitely Wild columnist. He writes about “adventure-travel in the outdoors, the vehicles and gear that get us there, and the people we meet along the way.” . . .

As Siler notes in his recent piece for Outside magazine, he “got a vasectomy because of climate change.” . . .

However, by not having a child, Siler said he’d save the world from 58 tons of carbon emissions annually: “Any other action we could take, even all the actions we could ever possibly add up together, pale in comparison.”

That’s because there are simply too many humans on this planet. We’ve all been told that driving an electric car or putting solar panels on our roofs will help, but that involves buying more stuff, which has a terrible impact on the environment, no matter how green the image. Two people deciding to make fewer humans eliminates the entire cycle of consumption that would fuel that kid’s life.
