Polar Vortex to Bring Bone-Chilling Cold to Much of Nation This Winter, Scientists Warn

. . .North Carolina, which doesn’t see much snow, got 20 inches last week, leaving two dead and thousands without power. While the Old Farmer’s Almanac offers some good news in a forecast predicting an El Niño will bring warmer temperatures across most of North America this winter, some scientists are saying just the opposite. . .

Judah Cohen, a researcher from Atmospheric and Environmental Research, says a polar vortex will blast across the East Coast later this month and into January, bringing lots of snow and bone-chilling temperatures, The Washington Post reported.

A polar vortex happens when the stratosphere, the upper part of Earth’s atmosphere, warms up suddenly. That brings strong winds, which then splits the vortex, drawing cold air from the north into the south.

“When the vortex, perched some 60,000 feet high in the atmosphere, is stable, winter conditions over the United States and Europe tend to be rather ordinary. Winter is still winter, with the normal mix of storms, cold snaps and thaws,” the Post writes. “But when the vortex is disrupted, an ordinary winter can suddenly turn severe and memorable for an extended duration. ‘[It] can affect the entire winter,’ Cohen said in an interview.”

The Real Tragedy of Human-Caused Climate Change Theories Is Not Environmental

MSNBC anchor Katy Tur read an article in the New Yorker about the devastating effect California’s wildfires have had due to climate change and proclaimed,

I read that New Yorker article today, and I thought, “Gosh, how pointless is my life and how pointless are the decisions that I’m making on a day-to-day basis, when we are not focused on climate change every day, when it’s not leading every one of our newscasts?”

That’s not funny and not to be ridiculed. It’s sad. It’s sad because it appears she has been trained to say that ridiculous thing through deceit and pressure.

People opposed to the theory of anthropogenic global warming often say that the climate change theorist is an idiot, a nut, or a useful pawn in the worldwide attempt to convince Americans to give up their wealth. They think, “What about the facts that are everywhere that disprove their theory?” “What about the fact that a theory isn’t a fact?” “What about the attempt to silence people as ‘deniers’ of a theory?” “What about the other side of the argument?” But there is no other side to the question according to the theorists. To me, it is a scary thing to understand that people have been convinced of a theory so completely that the angry mob demands that you embrace it as fact, shattering the very point of a theory in the first place.

Heck, the pope is convinced. He’s not only convinced, but he’s got Catholic churches all over the world preaching climate change from the pulpit as if it were fact. That’s a scary thing when you realize it’s not a fact. After all, if the answer to climate change is high taxation of the American people, you’d think of it as it should be thought of, extortion of the production of wealth from a nation built for the freedom of the individual. It is a man-destroying idea. It is an idea put forth solely to demand tyranny.

Tur’s lament that we just aren’t doing enough about the climate and that it makes her life pointless is the result of a coordinated tax-the-rich political scheme. It’s not fact.

Anthropogenic global warming has been debunked, yet this MSNBC television employee believes her life is pointless unless we all just give up more of our freedoms and our wealth and work for free, because somehow more money given to government will change the climate.

One can infer that Tur feels that her life would have more meaning if she reported on climate change more. In her trained mind, perhaps that would raise awareness of the subject and maybe move the mobs to demand higher taxation and economic stagnation. Then and only then would her life have meaning.

Katy recently told the world she’s pregnant with her first child. With leading climate alarmists stating that bringing a child into this world will only burden the rest of us when dealing with climate change, I’d like Katy to know that many of us welcome the fact that she is bringing a child into this world, even though she just described it as pointless. I would suggest that her feelings of pointlessness and alarm are products of deceit and that she will find purpose in the thrilling and overwhelming love of a child.

And when that child grows up and goes out into the world to work, we do not wish the product of his labor be taken away and given to the iron fist of government. We do not wish that he be subject to tyranny because of a coordinated lie. We do not want him to have to experience the type of shaming that trains people to repeat lies as facts or to have his life made harder by the imposition of a theory as a fact.

Instead, we would encourage him to question authority, faulty arguments, and theories held up as fact and arm himself with knowledge, wisdom; and history; to grab hold of life and get as much out of it as his open mind can produce. Climate Change Alarmism Is the World’s Leading Cause of Hot Gas

Even as anti-gas tax riots raged in France this week, the naturalist David Attenborough warned a crowd at a United Nations climate change summit in Poland that the “collapse of our civilizations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.” UN General Assembly President Maria Espinosa told the media that “mankind” was “in danger of disappearing” if climate change is allowed to progress at its current rate.

Speakers, who flew in to swap doomsday stories and partake of the meat-heavy menu, advocated for radical changes to avoid this imminent environmental apocalypse. These days, “the point of no return” is almost always in view, yet always just out of reach.

Sorry, but by now, this rhetoric is familiar. You can go back to 1970, when Harvard biologist George Wald, riding a wave of popular environmental panic during the decade, estimated that “civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”

Or you can go back to 1977, when President Barack Obama’s future science “tsar” John Holdren co-authored a book with Paul R. Ehrlich predicting that global warming could lead to the deaths of 1 billion starving people by 2020. (The authors theorized that “population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution.”)

Or you can go back to 2006, when Al Gore warned in his Oscar-winning documentary that sea levels would rise by 20 feet “in the near future.” The producers even offered chilling depictions of cities underwater. New Zealand Defence Report Says Climate Change Greatest Security Risk

By The Economic Times. New Zealand released a defence policy statement on Thursday calling climate change its greatest security threat and stressed the importance of the issue to the geostrategically contested Pacific region, which is seeing increased influence from China.

The assessment came on the heels of a defence policy earlier this year that warned China’s rising influence in the South Pacific could undermine regional stability, drawing a complaint from the Asian giant.

“It identifies climate change as one of the most significant security threats of our time, and one that is already having adverse impacts both at home and in New Zealand’s neighbourhood,” said Defence Minister Ron Mark in an emailed statement. Climate Hysteria: U.N. Climate Summit Warns Climate Change Is Going to Kill Everything

“If we don’t take action, the collapse of our civilizations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon,” Attenborough claimed. “The world’s people have spoken. Their message is clear. Time is running out. They want you, the decision-makers, to act now.” .

Climate Change Could Lead to ‘a Collapse of Our Civilization’ According to Sir David Attenborough

By USA Today. . .The 92-year-old TV presenter blamed humans for the “disaster of global scale, our greatest threat in thousands of years.”

The United Nations’ conference, known as COP24 (the informal name for the 24th Conference of the Parties), is an annual gathering of the world’s top experts on climate change.

Also speaking at the conference, the head of the U.N. didn’t have many encouraging words, either: “Even as we witness devastating climate impacts causing havoc across the world, we are still not doing enough, nor moving fast enough, to prevent irreversible and catastrophic climate disruption,” U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the thousands of delegates from almost 200 countries who gathered in the city of Katowice, Poland.

Surprise: Obama Official Helped Prepare Dire National Climate Assessment

A former Obama administration official with ties to a liberal advocacy group funded by Democratic megadonors George Soros and Tom Steyer helped prepare the Fourth National Climate Assessment, whose dire predictions have since been attacked as overblown.

Andrew Light, who worked on the 2015 Paris accord negotiations as a senior adviser to the U.S. Special Envoy on Climate Change under Secretary of State John F. Kerry, served as a review editor for the assessment, overseeing the pivotal final chapter that concluded under a worst-case scenario that global warming could wipe out as much as 10 percent of the U.S. economy by 2100.

Now a senior fellow at the World Resources Institute, Mr. Light also spent five years as senior fellow and director of international climate policy at the Center for American Progress, which was founded and now led by longtime Democratic insider John Podesta. The center is also financed by liberal billionaires such as Mr. Soros and Mr. Steyer.

The involvement of Mr. Light and other figures known for their climate change advocacy has raised questions about the credibility of the report, which has been widely depicted as a politically neutral, scientific document prepared by disinterested specialists from 13 federal agencies.

Roger A. Pielke Jr., University of Colorado Boulder environmental studies professor, criticized the decision to bring in Mr. Light, as well as the report’s reliance for the 10 percent figure on a 2017 study funded in part by Mr. Steyer’s Next Generation and Bloomberg Philanthropies. Trump Responds to Dire Predictions in the Latest U.S. Climate Report

President Donald Trump disagreed with the dire economic projections in the U.S. government’s latest climate report.

“I don’t believe it,” Trump said when asked by a reporter outside the White House on Monday if he agreed with the latest National Climate Assessment (NCA) report’s projections that global warming could hurt the U.S. economy.

“And here’s the other thing — you’re going to have to have China, and Japan, and all of Asia, and all of these other countries — you know, it — it addresses our country,” Trump said.

“Right now, we’re at the cleanest we’ve ever been, and that’s very important to me. But if we’re clean but every other place on Earth on is dirty, that’s not so good,” Trump said. “So I want clean air. I want clean water — very important.”

The Trump administration released the NCA Friday, launching a wave of media coverage on the report’s dire predictions. The report claims that “global greenhouse gas emissions is expected to cause substantial net damage to the U.S. economy throughout this century,” including a 10 percent hit to gross domestic product (GDP) in one extreme scenario. Don’t Tell Climate Change Fanatics This Piece of News

By Daily Wire. . .According to a new study published in Nature, in the roughly quarter century between 1982 and 2016, global tree canopy cover increased by 865,000 square miles.

While the area of bare ground and short vegetation is diminishing, forest area is growing. As Ronald Bailey notes in Reason, “Forests in montane regions are expanding as climate warming enables trees to grow higher up on mountains.”

The greatest increase in tree canopy occurred in Europe, including European Russia, where it exploded by 35%. A close second was found in China, where tree canopy gained 34%. In the U.S., tree canopy increased by 15%. (Read more from “Don’t Tell Climate Change Fanatics This Piece of News” HERE)

Climate Change Warnings Cut From Trump Power-Plant Proposal

By Bloomberg. Warnings about potentially severe consequences of climate change were deleted from a Trump administration plan to weaken curbs on power plant emissions during a White House review.

Drafts had devoted more than 500 words to highlighting the impacts — more heat waves, intense hurricanes, heavy rainfalls, floods and water pollution — as part of the proposal to replace Obama-era restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions. That language was left out of the Trump administration’s final analysis of the Environmental Protection Agency proposal, when it was unveiled Aug. 21.

Among the abandoned assertions: an acknowledgment that “the climate has continued to change, with new records being set” for global average surface temperatures, Arctic sea ice retreat, carbon dioxide concentrations and sea level rise, all markers of the phenomenon.

Researchers Claim Climate Change Causes Suicides

Stanford researchers are now claiming that warmer temperatures will lead to higher rates of suicide. The study compared historical temperatures and suicide data across the U.S. and Mexico and concluded that temperature increases will increase suicides by an additional 21,000 by the year 2050.

The study, led by Stanford economist Marshall Burke, was published July 23 in Nature Climate Change.

According to the research, there’s strong evidence on social media that suggests hotter temperatures affect mental health. They found this to be the case by analyzing language in over half a billion Twitter updates and tweets.

The researchers focused on keywords such as “lonely,” “trapped,” or “suicidal” during high-temperature hot spells. The data suggested that hot temperatures correlate with suicide rates and depressive language on social media.

“We’ve been studying the effects of warming on conflict and violence for years, finding that people fight more when it’s hot. Photographer Behind Viral Images of Starving Polar Bear Has an Important Climate Change Question

The narrative behind the viral photo of a polar bear starving, reportedly thanks to climate change, has been called into question by the National Geographic photographer who took it in the first place.

In an article for the August issue of National Geographic titled “Starving-Polar-Bear Photographer Recalls What Went Wrong,” Cristina Mittermeier talks about the intended message of the image versus the message that was received. . .

“Photographer Paul Nicklen and I are on a mission to capture images that communicate the urgency of climate change. Documenting its effects on wildlife hasn’t been easy,” she wrote in the article. “With this image, we thought we had found a way to help people imagine what the future of climate change might look like. We were, perhaps, naive. The picture went viral — and people took it literally.” . .

The image she is referencing shows an emaciated polar bear with hardly any fur covering its bony frame. In a video that was also taken of the bear, it can be seen slowly moving through the terrain, rummaging through an empty can. . .

“The first line of the National Geographic video said, ‘This is what climate change looks like’ — with ‘climate change’ then highlighted in the brand’s distinctive yellow. Volcano Alert: You Want to Talk ‘Catastrophic Climate Change’?

At least two potential super-volcanos have the attention of scientists worldwide because of the devastation any of them – two in the U.S. and one in Japan – could wreak on the planet, killing tens of millions and ravaging global economies.

Saturday’s rumblings at the Yellowstone Caldera in America’s most famous national park caught the attention of seismologists over the weekend because of its cataclysmic potential. Scientists warn that a major eruption of the Wyoming volcano would kill an estimated 87,000 people immediately and render two-thirds of the U.S. uninhabitable because of an ash cloud that would spark rapid climate change.

If that scenario sounds apocalyptically scary, consider the other volcano being watched worldwide off the shore of Japan. Just last week, Japanese scientists were warning an eruption at the Kikai Caldera, about 50 miles south of Japan’s main island, could kill 100 million people and set off catastrophic global climate change that would make the world forget about “global warming” scares.

The Japanese lava dome was recently discovered in an underwater volcano. It is growing in size and was formed, scientists believe, following what is known as the Akahoya super-eruption that may have wiped out the ancient Jomon culture that inhabited the southern Japanese island of Kyushu at the time.

“Although the probability of a gigantic caldera eruption hitting the Japanese archipelago is 1 percent in the next 100 years, it is estimated that the death toll could rise to approximately 100 million in the worst-case scenario,” said professor Yoshiyuki Tatsumi, head of the Kobe Ocean-Bottom Exploration Center and a magma specialist.
