After Blaming COVID on Trump, Media Let Biden Dodge Responsibility for Climbing Cases

Once upon a time, long ago, there was an American president who we were told was directly responsible for the spread of a highly contagious, airborne virus. Today, we’re told of the same virus, but with a new president, “Well, whaddya do?”

Remember when containing and depressing the coronavirus was simply a matter of nationwide testing and “contact tracing,” plus the care of a president who wasn’t Trump and who might cry on TV about the lives lost?

Under President Joe Biden, we have all of that, with the added benefit of free and unlimited vaccines. But the virus has continued to spread. We’re currently averaging just under 100,000 new cases, just under 60,000 hospitalizations, and more than 1,000 COVID-related deaths every day.

Ahead of Biden’s inauguration, new cases were in the beginning of a free fall. By late June there were roughly just 11,000 new cases each day. Now we’re averaging almost 10 times that amount.

There’s no reason you should be under the impression that Biden is competent enough to do as he said he would, which was to “shut down the virus.” Almost a year into his presidency we don’t even talk about ending the pandemic anymore. Fear Forever! ‘Possible’ Omicron Will Not Be Last Emerging Variant of Pandemic

The director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Francis Collins said Sunday on “Meet the Press” that it was “certainly possible” that the Omicron variant will not be the last COVID-19 variant of the pandemic. . .

Collins responded, “It’s certainly possible that this is not the last emerging variant that will attract a lot of attention and a lot of concern. This one does have the largest number of mutations that we’ve seen so far. Omicron with about 50 mutations compared to the original Wuhan virus. It looks as if they probably arose in an immunocompromised individual — this is a hypothesis, but it seems plausible — who wasn’t able to completely fight of the virus. So it remained in the system may be for months in that person until they finally got over it. And that is, of course, a perfect situation for the virus to be able to pick up additional mutations along the way. To the extent that that’s going to keep happening, if we don’t have adequate immune protection across the globe – yeah, we’re probably going to see something. Omicron Hits New York City

Five cases of the COVID-19 omicron variant have been detected in the New York City area, Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday evening.

Hochul said they account for the only five known cases in teh state thus far and include one in Brooklyn, two in Queens and one in Long Island’s Suffolk County. A fifth was pegged to “New York City” by the officials but without a more precise location.

The Long Island patient, a 67-year-old woman, had recently returned from South Africa, Hochul said. She tested positive on Nov. 30, according to the governor.

Federal officials restricted travel to the US from eight nations in southern Africa after cases of the variant were reported in South Africa and Botswana. (Read more from “Omicron Hits New York” HERE)

This European Country Is Medically Segregating the Unvaccinated From Public Life

Germany enacted restrictions on Thursday prohibiting citizens who haven’t received a COVID-19 vaccine from entering most public venues and businesses.

According to Reuters, the decision to implement medical segregation came after “[O]utgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel and her successor Olaf Scholz agreed with leaders of Germany’s 16 states to bar the unvaccinated from access to all but the most essential businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies and bakeries.” Only individuals who are vaccinated or have recovered from the virus will be allowed access to restaurants, theaters, and other so-called nonessential stores.

Additional restrictions set to take effect include “shutting nightclubs in places with high infection rates,” “strict limits on the number of spectators at large public events such as soccer games,” and “a nationwide ban on gatherings and fireworks at New Year.”

Once Again Hypocrite Pelosi Personifies ’Rules for Thee, but Not for Me’

Photos granted exclusively to Breitbart News show Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi going maskless at a crowded indoor event, just a day after President Biden urged all Americans to once again start wearing masks indoors.

The photos appear to show Pelosi at a D.C. party hosted by the California State Society earlier this evening with guests surrounding Pelosi, including a child, wearing masks — but Pelosi’s is nowhere to be seen.

The event reportedly took place at the Museum of American History. Tickets for the event state that all attendees over the age of two are required to wear masks.

Drew Hammill, an official in Pelosi’s office, did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

California City Approves Motion to Reject Any State or Federal COVID Mandates

The city of Oroville in Northern California voted to declare itself a “Constitutional Republic City” to protect its citizens against tyrannical state and federal COVID mandates.

In a 6-1 vote by Oroville’s city council on November 6, members approved the motion with the power to opt out of enforcing “any executive orders issued by the state of California or by the United States federal government that are overreaching or clearly violate our constitutionally protected rights.”

The city or Oroville has a population of over 15,000.

“What we are doing is protecting our citizens’ rights as much as we can on the local level,” Oroville Vice Mayor Scott Thomson told Fox News Digital.

“In a way, we are acting as a sanctuary city for our citizens and their rights and freedoms protected by the U.S. and state constitutions,” continued Thomson. “Gavin Newsom [California’s governor] modeled this type of declaration for us when he declared San Francisco a sanctuary city [for illegal immigrants] for what he believed to be overreach by the federal government against his citizens.” (Read more from “California City Approves Motion to Reject Any State or Federal COVID Mandates” HERE)

Huge Study: Only 1 Out of a 1000 Unvaccinated People With Prior COVID Develop Severe COVID Again

When people got reinfected with Covid-19, their odds of ending up in the hospital or dying were 90% lower than an initial Covid-19 infection, according to a new study.

The study published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine found that there were few confirmed reinfections among 353,326 people who got Covid-19 in Qatar, and the re-infections were rare and generally mild. . .

Researchers found that among the remaining cases there were 1,304 reinfections. The median time between the first illness and reinfection was about 9 months.

Among those with reinfections, there were only four cases severe enough that they had to go to the hospital. There were no cases where people were sick enough that they needed to be treated in the intensive care unit. Among the initial cases, 28 were considered critical. There were no deaths among the reinfected group, while there were seven deaths in the initial infections. . .

Earlier studies have shown that natural immunity lowers ones risk of infection. New Variant Represents a “Significant Potential Risk” to Vaccine and Natural-Induced Immunity

Vaccine maker Moderna says the new Omicron variant represents a “significant potential risk” to the efficacy of its Covid-19 vaccine as well as immunity reached naturally.

“The recently described Omicron variant includes mutations seen in the Delta variant that are believed to increase transmissibility and mutations seen in the Beta and Delta variants that are believed to promote immune escape,” Moderna said Friday in a news release.

“The combination of mutations represents a significant potential risk to accelerate the waning of natural and vaccine-induced immunity,” the company said.

County in California to Require Masks in Private Homes

Santa Cruz County, California, is imposing an indoor mask mandate beginning Sunday night which requires residents to wear masks in private settings, including homes, regardless of vaccination status.

The mandate applies to gatherings of those who live in a different homes but meet together in one location, and it was imposed in light of rising COVID-19 cases in the area, according to ABC 7.

Bay Area COVID-19 cases are still lower than they were during summer surges, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. “Unfortunately, a potential winter surge appears to be a significant threat to the health and safety of our community,” said Dr. Gail Newel, Santa Cruz County’s health officer, according to the Chronicle. Everyone Was Wrong About Ivermectin

Health officials condemned ivermectin as a useless and even dangerous treatment for COVID-19. The media smeared the well-known and commonly used anti-parasitic drug as a “horse dewormer,” even though it has always been a human medicine as well. They mercilessly mocked people who thought the drug might help them.

But it turns out ivermectin can actually help certain people fight off COVID-19, according to science writer Scott Alexander.

In a lengthy blog post , Alexander took a deep dive into all available studies on ivermectin and whether it works against COVID-19. It’s worth reading in full, but I’ll highlight his main point: Ivermectin does work, albeit indirectly, especially in areas where parasitic and intestinal worms are common.

There’s a reason the most impressive ivermectin studies came from parts of the world where worms are prevalent, he says. Parasites suppress the immune system, making it more difficult for the human body to fight off viruses. Thus, getting rid of worm infections makes it easier for COVID-19 patients to bounce back from the virus.

If Alexander’s hypothesis is correct, he’s also right that everyone who hastily jumped to a conclusion about ivermectin was wrong. Ivermectin is not the COVID-19 cure that some made it out to be, but it’s also not useless in the fight against COVID-19 either.
