WATCH: Robot Dog Taking Homeless People’s Temps to Track for COVID

The Honolulu Police Department in Hawaii is using a $150,000 robot named “Spot” to take the temperatures of homeless people in its effort to combat COVID-19.

Lt. Joseph O’Neal, acting lieutenant of HPD’s community outreach unit, justified the cost, which was borne by pandemic relief funds. He argued a tool that “takes transmission out of the equation” is not “a waste” from a long-term perspective.

KHON-TV in Honolulu reported Spot, a product of Boston Dynamics, is capable of taking a person’s temperature from a distance of seven feet in a fraction of a second.

“It also has two-way communication and can deliver PPE (personal protective equipment), food and water to someone who does test positive for COVID,” the news anchor said.

FAUCI LIED: NIH Finally Admits Funding COVID Research at Wuhan Lab

Despite testifying before Congress to the contrary, new evidence appears to prove that National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci and NIH Director Francis Collins approved grants for gain-of-function virus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Gain-of-function research involves extracting natural virus samples from animals and engineering them to infect humans for the development of therapeutics and vaccines. Gain-of-function research was banned in the United States in 2014, but that didn’t stop the NIH from funding such research before the ban was lifted by the Obama administration days before he left office.

Both Fauci and Collins have denied approving grants for the controversial research through EcoHealth Alliance, Inc. and the Wuhan Institute of Virology, but a letter from NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak to House Oversight Committee ranking Republican James Comer contradicts their testimony.

“NIH — and specifically, Collins, Fauci, and Tabak — lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public,” says Dr. Richard H. Ebright, Board of Governors professor at Rutgers University’s Waksman Institute of Microbiology. “Knowingly. Willfully. Brazenly.”

The letter from Tabak describes the results of a limited experiment, where “laboratory mice infected with [a modified bat coronavirus] became sicker than those infected with the [original] bat coronavirus.”

Judge Rejects Husband’s Plea for Ivermectin for Critically Ill Wife

A Florida judge, deeming that it was inappropriate for him to be determining the level of dosage of Ivermectin for a critically ill woman, rejected for the second time in three days a petition from the woman’s husband requesting that the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center administer Ivermectin.

Palm Beach County Circuit Judge James Nutt requested that Ryan Drock and the hospital try to resolve the dispute themselves, arguing, “The parties are directed to confer and, if possible, agree how this matter can expeditiously proceed to final resolution,” The Palm Beach Post reported, adding, “If the correct legal papers are ‘squared away,’ Nutt said he would be willing to hold a hearing to explore why Drock, who is in the intensive-care unit tethered to oxygen, might benefit from ivermectin.” . . .

The Daily Beast reported:

Though Nutt suggested he would consider a request for a temporary injunction “given the gravity and urgency of the case,” he hinted that it could also be unsuccessful in court. “It is not a right to substitute one’s judgment as to which treatments must [be] made available by others,” said the judge. “There is no right, constitutional or otherwise, of a patient to substitute one’s judgment for a medical professional.”

Report: Coronavirus ‘Contributed to a Significant Spike in Child Sexual Exploitation’

WeProtect Global Alliance, an international coalition of private entities and government agencies dedicated to protecting children from online sexual exploitation, released a report on Tuesday that found child sexual abuse increased significantly during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Alliance’s Global Threat Assessment 2021, pandemic lockdowns and social distancing produced a dramatic increase in Internet use by children, which in turn led to a surge of online exploitation.

“The scale of child sexual exploitation and abuse online is increasing. This sustained growth is outstripping our global capacity to respond,” the report warned.

To depict the scale of the problem, the report noted that the ten most harmful child sexual abuse sites on the “dark web” have over three million users between them. One site taken down by Europol in May 2021 had over 400,000 registered users.

The number of reports pouring into cyber abuse hotlines doubled last year, an increase WeProtect Global Alliance called “unprecedented.” (Read more from “Report: Coronavirus ‘Contributed to a Significant Spike in Child Sexual Exploitation’” HERE)

Former CDC Director Gives Alarming Statistic on Fully Vaccinated COVID Deaths (VIDEO)

Speaking during an interview with Fox News Monday afternoon, former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield said that more than 40 percent of people who have recently died from Wuhan coronavirus in Maryland were fully vaccinated.

“A lot of times people may feel it’s a rare event that fully vaccinated people die. I happen to be the senior advisor to Governor Hogan in the state of Maryland. In the last 6-8 weeks, more than 40 percent of people who died in Maryland were fully vaccinated,” Redfield said, responding to the death of former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

At the time of his death from virus complications, Powell was also fighting a blood cancer that lowers the ability to stave off infection. According to the Maryland Department of Health, 65.7 percent of adults in the state are fully vaccinated.

Colin Powell Dies of COVID Despite Being Fully Vaccinated

Gen. Colin Powell, former secretary of state, died Monday at 84 years of age from COVID-related complications, even though he was fully vaccinated, his family announced. . .

Powell was afflicted with other diseases, including Parkinson’s and the blood cancer multiple myeloma, which could hamper recovery from COVID-19 infection, according to reports. His family didn’t specify when Powell received vaccine, or whether he had taken a booster shot.

Also, studies have shown that certain patients with weak immune systems don’t always elicit substantial levels of COVID-19 vaccine-induced antibodies, and regulators in August authorized a third dose of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for certain vulnerable patients, like solid organ transplant recipients, patients taking treatment for blood cancers or tumors, among other patients with conditions considered to have a similar level of immunocompromise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Joe Rogan Stumps CNN Doctor on COVID Shots for Kids

No. 1 podcaster Joe Rogan explained on Wednesday to CNN health correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta why many parents believe vaccinating their children for COVID-19 poses a greater risk than the disease itself.

“Don’t you think that, even with a breakthrough infection, untreated, you are probably more vulnerable than the average child who is not vaccinated, who gets COVID?” Rogan asked Gupta on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Before allowing Gupta to answer, Rogan noted that people who have been double vaccinated have died, including an actor who recently won an Emmy Award.

“The odds of that happening to a healthy child are very, very low,” Rogan said. . .

Noting Gupta, age 51, was about the same age as the actor, Rogan said, “You, vaccinated, would be more vulnerable of a breakthrough infection than a young child would be, statistically speaking, right?”

Suicide Killed More Than Twice as Many U.S. Soldiers in Three Months Than COVID Has Since the Pandemic Began

More soldiers in the U.S. military’s active-duty, National Guard, and reserve forces died from suicide in the second quarter of this year than soldiers in the entire U.S. military died from the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, a new Pentagon report shows.

Titled “The Department of Defense (DoD) Quarterly Suicide Report (QSR),” the document reveals that from April 1 to June 30, a total of 139 troops took their lives, with 99 classified as “active component,” 14 as “reserve” members, and 26 as National Guard. Broken down among service branches, the active component deaths include 60 from the Army, eight from the Marine Corps, 17 from the Navy, and 14 from the Air Force.

The newly released numbers are more than double the total number of U.S. service members that have died from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, with the Military Times reporting 67 COVID-related deaths in the U.S. military to date.

Following an August directive from the Biden administration, all members of the U.S. military are required to receive the COVID jab in order to continue service, with the deadline for vaccination varying among each branch. Hospital Refuses Anchorage Man’s Request for Ivermectin as He Fights To Stay Alive

William Topel, prominent in Anchorage’s conservative political circles, checked into Providence Alaska Medical Center last Thursday due to complications from COVID.

Highly engaged in Alaska politics, Topel regularly participates in Anchorage Assembly meetings, legislative hearings and political rallies. According to his Linkedin page, he earned a BA in Science/Technology from UAA and has been a substitute teacher in Anchorage since 2013. Alaska’s Division of Election lists him as an official elector for the Alaska Constitution Party in 2020.

On Oct. 7, Topel checked into Providence where both he and his physician asked hospital staff to administer Ivermectin and vitamin infusions to treat his illness. Providence initially refused, and Topel is now unconscious and in critical condition.

According to an email from the hospital’s media relations department, Providence does not use Ivermectin to treat COVID patients. The hospital says the FDA has not approved Ivermectin for treating or preventing COVID in humans.

“Based on a preponderance of evidence and guidelines from multiple national authorities, Providence Alaska Medical Center does not use Ivermectin to treat COVID-19,” the email state.

Providence’s stance runs contrary to multiple studies which show that Ivermectin is a safe drug that can decrease both morbidity and mortality in COVID patients. It has been successfully used to treat COVID patients around the world, including in India, Mexico, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.

On Oct. 11, Anchorage Attorney Mario Bird sent a letter to Providence on behalf of Topel and his surrogate decision maker Jamie Allard, whom Topel granted power of attorney to make medical decisions. Allard is not acting in her capacity as an Anchorage Assemblywoman, but only as a private citizen.

Bird’s letter cites Alaska Statute 13.52.010, noting that Allard has legal authority to request Ivermectin treatment for Topel.

“Ms. Allard has also informed me that upon asserting her right to make medical decisions for Mr. Topel, she was told by hospital staff that she ‘doesn’t really have that right,’ and that Providence staff continues to refuse Ms. Allard or Mr. Topel’s friends and family to visit him in the hospital,” Bird wrote.

“This is literally life and death,” Allard said. “If I don’t try, then I didn’t do anything that Bill asked me to do.”

The letter reminds the hospital that it cannot legally act as surrogates or agents for patients.

“Per Alaska law, Ms. Allard has the authority to make health decisions for Mr. Topel, either as a surrogate or an agent. Providence does not,” Bird explained. “Should Providence continue to decline to honor Ms. Allard’s decision for Mr. Topel, it must follow the clear procedure laid out in AS 13.52.060 (g). Violation of this or any provision of Alaska’s Health Care Decisions Act (AS 13.52.010, et seq.) carries a statutory penalty of $10,000 or actual damages for each violation, whichever is greater.”

Bird then notes that medical providers “do not enjoy legal immunity when they decide to act as surrogate decision makers for their patients.” He cites a 2021 Alaska Supreme Court case, also involving Providence.

Allard told the Alaska Watchman that Topel’s request for Ivermectin is clear. Last week she called Topel to discuss his situation.

“I said, ‘William are you okay?’ He said, ‘No, they’re not listening to me. I want to get out. They won’t give me Ivermectin.’”

Topel than asked Allard to help him get transferred out of the hospital so he could receive his requested treatment elsewhere. At that point, William asked Allard to be his surrogate decision maker with official power of attorney if he became incapacitate and couldn’t speak for himself.

“Basically, the next day, I was making the decisions, and they were consistently ignoring Bill’s request to be moved out of Providence,” Allard said. “Right now, we are working on putting him in hospice, so that we can give him Ivermectin.”

They are also seeking a court order to force Providence to give Topel the treatments that both he and his physician have requested.

By late morning on Oct. 12, Allard said the hospital had finally agreed to give Topel vitamin infusions, but are still denying Ivermectin.

“This is literally life and death,” Allard said. “If I don’t try, then I didn’t do anything that Bill asked me to do.”

Allard said the hospital only permits one visitor for Topel, and they must remain outside a glass barrier.

“I can’t imagine someone with no resources trying to do this on their own,” Allard said. “They would just be bullied and blocked unless they got an attorney.” (For more from the author of “Hospital Refuses Anchorage Man’s Request for Ivermectin as He Fights To Stay Alive” HERE)

Company Asks FDA for Emergency OK of Its COVID Pill

Pharmaceutical giant Merck and its partner Ridgeback Biotherapeutics announced Monday that it has asked the Food and Drug Administration for emergency approval of its COVID-19 pill after the experimental drug showed “compelling results” in clinical trials.

The pill, called molnupiravir, cut the risk of hospitalization or death in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 by about 50 percent in a late-stage trial, according to data from a phase three clinical trial shared earlier this month.

“The extraordinary impact of this pandemic demands that we move with unprecedented urgency, and that is what our teams have done by submitting this application for molnupiravir to the FDA within 10 days of receiving the data,” Merck’s CEO Robert Davis said in a statement.

After seeing early success with the pill in clinical trials, the company — in consultation with an independent data committee and staff from the FDA — decided to end the trial early and seek an emergency use authorization.

If the FDA grants Merck an EUA for the pill, it would be the first oral antiviral for COVID-19. (Read more from “Company Asks FDA for Emergency OK of Its COVID Pill” HERE)
