States To Give Away Guns, Cars and Millions as COVID Vaccine Lottery Prizes

By National Review. West Virginia will give away guns, trucks and cash to incentivize state residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19, Governor Jim Justice announced Tuesday.

Drawings for a new vaccine incentive lottery program will run from Father’s Day on June 20 to August 4. During the first drawing on Father’s Day, the state plans to give away five custom hunting rifles and five custom hunting shotguns.

Justice said West Virginia will also give out two brand-new custom outfitted trucks and five lifetime hunting and fishing licenses. Vaccinated residents stand to win one of 25 getaways to the state’s parks.

The initial drawing will also include two four-year scholarships to any state educational institution for winners between the ages of 12 and 25. The state will also give away a $1 million grand prize. (Read more from “West Virginia To Give Away Guns as Vaccine Lottery Prizes” HERE)

California To Offer $116.5M in Vaccine Prize Money; Ohio Woman Claims State’s First $1m Vaccine Jackpot

By Yahoo News. California is hopping on the trend of cash prizes for vaccinated individuals in hopes that the incentive will stimulate its plateauing vaccination rate.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Thursday that the state is offering the nation’s largest vaccine prize money — $116.5 million — to get millions more inoculated before the state’s reopening next month.

“This is all in an effort to incentivize and build momentum,” Newsom said.

Ten vaccinated residents 12 years and older will have the chance to win $1.5 million dollars apiece, and another 30 will win $50,000 each on June 4 and June 11. Anyone 12 and older who has received at least one shot will be eligible, even if they have already received their shot.

The state is also giving $50 grocery or prepaid gift cards to the next 2 million Californians who begin and complete their vaccination, starting Thursday. (Read more from “California To Offer $116.5M in Vaccine Prize Money; Ohio Woman Claims State’s First $1m Vaccine Jackpot” HERE)

Highly Contagious COVID Variant Spreading Rapidly in the U.S.

The highly contagious COVID-19 variant that first emerged in India is spreading at a rapid rate in the US — and now makes up 7 percent of new cases, data shows.

The dramatic rise of the B.1.617.2 variant comes after it accounted for only 1 percent of new cases stateside at the start of May, according to a report from Outbreak.info.

The data revealed that the variant, which experts suspect is 60 percent more transmissible, reached its high of 7 percent of samples sequenced on May 26.

The World Health Organization last week classified the variant as being one of global concern and requiring heightened tracking and analysis. (Read more from “Highly Contagious COVID Variant Spreading Rapidly in the U.S.” HERE)

Occupational Safety and Health Administration Suspends Legal Requirement That Employers Report COVID Vaccine-Related Injuries

In order to encourage American workers to get vaccinated, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has suspended the legal requirement for employers to report work-related injuries resulting from vaccinations aimed at combating the CCP virus that causes the disease COVID-19.

This suspension of the law by OSHA does not change the fact that employers may be held liable under workers’ compensation laws or under civil personal injury laws, according to the nonprofit group Liberty Counsel.

Earlier in May, the website of OSHA, an agency within the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), stated that employers could be held liable if they required employees to receive COVID-19-related injections as a condition of employment and the employees then experience adverse reactions. . .

But visitors to the same website’s FAQ section now see a different message, which reads:

“DOL and OSHA, as well as other federal agencies, are working diligently to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations. OSHA does not wish to have any appearance of discouraging workers from receiving COVID-19 vaccination, and also does not wish to disincentivize employers’ vaccination efforts. As a result, OSHA will not enforce 29 CFR 1904’s recording requirements to require any employers to record worker side effects from COVID-19 vaccination through May 2022. We will reevaluate the agency’s position at that time to determine the best course of action moving forward.” (Read more from “Occupational Safety and Health Administration Suspends Legal Requirement That Employers Report COVID Vaccine-Related Injuries” HERE)

Soldier Charged With Mutiny for Anti-Vaccine Speech

A military officer who gave a speech at a anti-mask rally and urged his fellow soldiers to not distribute COVID-19 vaccines is now facing mutiny charges from the Canadian military.

In December, Officer Cadet Ladislas Kenderesi was introduced to a large anti-mask crowd in Toronto’s Yonge and Dundas Square. Lamont Daigle, one of the rally’s organizers and an influential Canadian anti-masker, gave the man an introduction fit for an action hero. . .

Kenderesi, introduced under his real name, strolled on stage wearing his military greens—complete with a knife sheathed in a shoulder holster—to the applause of hundreds.

“I’m asking the military, right now serving, truck drivers, medical, engineers, whatever you are, do not take this unlawful order in distribution of this vaccine,” he says to a cheering crowd. “My job is to protect you, not just from foreign (threats) but also from domestic.”

“I might get in a lot of s**t for doing this. But I don’t care any more.” (Read more from “Soldier Charged With Mutiny for Anti-Vaccine Speech” HERE)

Media Admits Dismissing COVID Lab Leak Theory Because of Trump (VIDEO)

Journalists continued to acknowledge Sunday that the media’s longstanding dismissal of the Wuhan “lab-leak” theory was in part due to Republicans pitching it.

Once widely cast aside as a racist “conspiracy theory” and “fringe” nonsense, the possibility that the coronavirus accidentally leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology has gained increasing credence in recent weeks. The saga has led to yet another reckoning for mainstream media journalists about groupthink and bias in the industry. Faced with criticism that they blasted the theory last year for political reasons, some reporters have admitted its Republican origins with figures like Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., former President Donald Trump, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo played into why they disparaged it.

ABC News Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl suggested on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday that figures like Trump and Pompeo were not taken seriously by members of the media, saying “now serious people are saying it needs a serious inquiry.”

“Yes, I think a lot of people have egg on their face,” Karl said. “This was an idea that was first put forward by Mike Pompeo, secretary of state, Donald Trump, and look some things may be true even if Donald Trump said them. Because Trump was saying so much else, that was just out of control, and because he was, you know, making a frankly racist appeal talking about Kung Flu, and the China virus, he said flatly this came from that lab, and it was widely dismissed … but now serious people are saying it needs a serious inquiry.”

Report: Wuhan Researcher’s Wife Died From COVID-Like Illness in 2019

The wife of a Wuhan lab researcher working on coronaviruses died of what appeared to be COVID-19 in December 2019, the leader of a State Department investigation under the Trump administration told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

It would have been an early clue that the virus could be transmitted among humans, yet Chinese authorities said that the virus was not transmissible for at least a month after they knew it was, allowing it to spread, according to David Asher, who led an investigation on COVID-19’s origins and served in the State Department under Democrat and Republican presidents. . .

An individual who worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology at the time provided the information on the lab researcher’s wife dying, according to Asher.

A Wall Street Journal story on Sunday reported that three Wuhan lab workers were hospitalized with COVID-like symptoms in November 2019, before the first confirmed case of COVID-19 on Dec. 8. The story’s main findings, that WIV workers had possible COVID-19 symptoms in fall 2019, before the first confirmed case, were already in a State Department statement on COVID-19’s origins released in the last days of the Trump administration. Hilarious: Cafe Charges Extra Fee to Customers Wearing Face Masks

A Northern California restaurant is now charging patrons an extra fee if they wear a face covering inside the restaurant or if they are heard “bragging” about being vaccinated for COVID-19.

Customers entering Fiddleheads Cafe in Mendocino, California, are being greeted with a sign posted on the restaurant’s front door warning them about the new charge. . .

The message tells customers they will be dinged with an “additional $5 fee” if they are “caught bragging” about having received the COVID-19 vaccine. The sign says that all proceeds collected from the pandemic-related fines will be “donated to local charities assisting domestic abuse victims.”

Cafe owner Chris Castleman told KNTV-TV some customers have paid the fee while others have responded with outrage.

Ultimately, however, he characterized the fee as an optional donation to charity, and suggested that he implemented the fee to demonstrate how “freedom of choice” has become a “foreign concept” in Democrat-controlled California. Lawsuit Filed Against Texas Hospital for Using Employees as COVID ‘Guinea Pigs’

A group of 117 unvaccinated staffers from Houston Methodist Hospital filed a lawsuit Friday seeking to avoid the hospital’s coronavirus vaccine mandate, saying it’s unlawful for bosses to require the shots.

The staffers join a growing list of employees challenging compulsory immunizations at businesses, colleges and other workplaces essential to the country’s reopening. Vaccine mandates have faced mounting resistance from anti-vaccination groups and some Republican politicians, even as health officials promote the proven safety of the vaccines and millions of Americans line up to get the shots every week.

The lawsuit against Houston Methodist was filed by Jared Woodfill, a Houston-area attorney and conservative activist. It appears to mirror a legal strategy used by a New York-based law firm, Siri & Glimstad, that is closely aligned with one of the country’s biggest anti-vaccination organizations but unaffiliated with the Houston litigation.

The complaint, filed in state court, says Houston Methodist’s vaccine mandate violates a set of medical ethics standards known as the Nuremberg Code, which was designed to prevent experimentation on human subjects without consent. The code was created after World War II in response to the medical atrocities Nazis committed against prisoners in concentration camps. Expert Has ‘Critical’ Warning if COVID-19 Origin Not Discovered

An expert said Sunday that finding out where COVID-19 originated from is “absolutely critical” in preventing future coronavirus outbreaks.

Peter Hotez, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and said:

There’s going to be COVID-26 and COVID-32 unless we fully understand the origins of COVID-19. This is absolutely critical.

Hotez said that saying that the U.S. must send experts to Wuhan lab to investigate the origins, noting that an intelligence investigation is not enough.

I’m personally of the opinion that we’ve pushed intelligence as far as we can. We need a team of scientists, genealogists, biologists, bat ecologists in the Hubei province for six months to a year-long period and fully unravel the origins of COVID-19.

Woman Arrested After Driving Through a Vaccine Site, Allegedly Yelled ‘No Vaccine’

A woman was arrested after she allegedly drove through a COVID-19 vaccination site in eastern Tennessee yelling “no vaccine,” according to authorities and witnesses.

Police said the suspect, Virginia Christine Lewis Brown, on Monday, allegedly drove her vehicle “at a high rate of speed” through a vaccination tent that was set up in Maryville, Tennessee.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office said that Brown, 36, was arrested and charged with seven counts of felony reckless endangerment, according to a statement posted Thursday.

“Two Blount County Sheriff’s deputies who were working at the site witnessed Ms. Brown speed through the coned section and through the enclosed vaccine tent in a Chrysler Pacifica,” the statement said. “The deputies reported that Ms. Brown did not stop at the check-in area at the entrance of the tent but continued through the tent at a high rate of speed, then exited the tent and out of the parking lot.”

Witnesses told deputies that the woman was allegedly yelling “no vaccines” when she drove by them, narrowly missing several, reported WSMV. (Read more from “Woman Arrested After Driving Through a Vaccine Site, Allegedly Yelled ‘No Vaccine’” HERE)
