“Welcome to another hearing of the Trump impeachment committee,” Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) quipped during his opening statement at a House Intelligence Committee hearing on Friday.
Adam Schiff (D-CA) convened Friday’s meeting to question Joseph B. Maher, the Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis. According to the chairman, Maher has been “preventing a lawful Intelligence Community whistleblower—the former head of an Intelligence Community element—from providing classified testimony to the Committee by delaying security clearances for his attorneys.” That whistleblower leveled several allegations against the agency, including that they “suppressed intelligence reports about Russia’s election interference and efforts to modify intelligence assessments to match Trump’s rhetoric on white supremacy, Antifa, and terrorism threats at the border.” He alleged that the DHS told him to stop reporting on the Russian threat to the U.S. election because it “made President Trump look bad.” The White House and the DHS denied all allegations.
Nunes noted that the Democrats called the whistleblower in question a liar just a few weeks before he filed this complaint. But now, they take him as their word as their “star witness.”
The ranking member accused his Democratic colleagues of dragging the panel through another investigation hoping that they’ll find the “holy grail of scandals that finally gets rid of Trump without beating him in the election.” They are, Nunes said, “sick fantasies.”

You may have thought the final impeachment vote in February would have been the end of the “Russia, Russia, Russia” narrative. But Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) brought the topic up again last week, suggesting that the Kremlin could cost her party the election. “Of course” Russia could cost Democrats the 2020 November election, she told CNN’s Dana Bash. . .
Here we go again.
Democrats dragged the country through a Russia hoax for years when Hillary lost to @realDonaldTrump.
Now Kamala Harris is laying the groundwork to blame Russia if she and Biden lose.
Harris’s diatribe about Russia spurred a rebuke from her fellow Californian, Republican Devin Nunes. In an interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo, Nunes excoriated Harris as an inexperienced, unaccomplished vice presidential nominee. . .
“She’s never really had a real race in California, because we’re a one party state…where the Republicans are really just sacrificial lambs,” Nunes added.
“She’s totally unqualified and she wouldn’t know what the hell the difference between Russian collusion and China collusion would be. All she knows – she’s a Politburo apparatchik that’s going to build the fight, fake narratives working with their propaganda arm, which happens to be 90 plus percent of the media in this country.”
In conclusion: “This is not a serious person that should be considered to be vice president of the United States.” (Read more from “GOP Rep. Explains Why Kamala Harris Is ‘Unqualified’ to Be Vice President” HERE)

Devin Nunes appears on Fox News daytime to discuss the pending FISA reauthorization bill from the Senate amid President Trump’s request to expose corruption before legislation. As Representative Nunes outlines there are only a handful of Democrats in Washington DC because they are planning all votes by proxy. Nuts.

First things first: ♦Understand Obama’s Surveillance Operation HERE. ♦Michael Flynn wasn’t under a FISA (Title-1) HERE …. that’s the background.
Devin Nunes appears with Lou Dobbs to discuss the recent list of Obama-era officials who unmasked NSA intercepts of Michael Flynn talking to foreign government officials. Rep. Nunes reminds the audience that Flynn is only one person within a much larger group of Trump transition team members who were under surveillance by Team Obama.
March 27, 2017, then House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Devin Nunes, held a brief press conference and stated he was provided intelligence reports brought to him by unnamed sources including ‘significant information’ about President-Elect Trump and his transition team.
These reports included unmaskings of President Trump campaign officials; and included Donald Trump himself…. You know what that means:
1.) …”On numerous occasions the [Obama] intelligence community incidentally collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition.”
2.) “Details about U.S. persons associated with the incoming administration; details with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in intelligence community reporting.”
3.) “Third, I have confirmed that additional names of Trump transition members were unmasked.”
4.) “Fourth and finally, I want to be clear; none of this surveillance was related to Russia, or the investigation of Russian activities, or of the Trump team.
“The House Intelligence Committee will thoroughly investigate surveillance and its subsequent dissemination, to determine a few things here that I want to read off:”
“Who was aware of it?”
“Why it was not disclosed to congress?”
“Who requested and authorized the additional unmasking?”
“Whether anyone directed the intelligence community to focus on Trump associates?”
“And whether any laws, regulations or procedures were violated?”
“I have asked the Directors of the FBI, NSA and CIA to expeditiously comply with my March 15th letter -that you all received a couple of weeks ago- and to provide a full account of these surveillance activities.”

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, vowed to pursue multiple new criminal referrals amid the ongoing fallout of bombshell revelations in the Justice Department’s handling of the Russia probe.
Referring to former special counsel Robert Mueller, Nunes said: “We’re looking at doing criminal referrals on the Mueller team, the Mueller dossier team, the Mueller witch hunt, whatever you want to call it. That’s where we are now in our investigation.” Nunes made his remarks in a special new episode of Fox Nation’s “Witch Hunt,” hosted by Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett.
Last year, Nunes sent eight criminal referrals to U.S. Attorney General William Barr alleging several “potential violations” of the law in the course the FBI’s investigation into Russian meddling and contacts with Trump advisers during the 2016 campaign.
Now in the wake of the Justice Department’s decision to drop charges against former Trump National Security Adviser General Michael Flynn, Nunes is turning his attention to the conduct of the special counsel, who was appointed after President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.
“We’re doing a large criminal referral on the Mueller dossier team that put together a fraudulent report — that knew there was no collusion the day that Mueller walked in the door,” said Nunes. “They set an obstruction of justice trap. There’s no doubt in my mind that we will make a conspiracy referral there.” (Read more from “Devin Nunes Vows Criminal Referrals for Robert Mueller’s Team in Latest Russia Probe Reckoning” HERE)

In the past week, transcripts of House Intelligence Committee testimony from various Obama officials proved that they had no evidentiary basis for investigating alleged Trump-Russia collusion. Rep. Devin Nunes says this proved that the investigation was phony “the whole time.”
“We had a strategy here that we wanted to get every single person that we interviewed, to say whether or not they knew of any evidence of collusion, coordination or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” Nunes said Sunday morning on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with anchor Maria Bartiromo. “Furthermore, what you will see is that we’ve been asked questions about hearsay. Did they hear anything? Do they know anything? Do they have any leads for us whatsoever? And the answer was always the same. Nothing.”
“I think that’s the real revelation for the American people, is they were using their own Russian dirt to ask questions,” Nunes added. “And it was all fake. It was all phony the whole time.”
At least one former Obama official, Evelyn Farkas, publicly claimed that she new of evidence proving collusion, but later admitted under oath she did not. . .
Following the release of these transcripts and documents, President Trump blasted the Obama administration for their attempted coup. “It was a very dangerous situation what they did,” he said. “These are dirty politicians and dirty cops and some horrible people and hopefully they’re going to pay a big price in the not too distant future.” (Read more from “Transcripts Prove Trump-Russia Investigation ‘Was All Phony the Whole Time’ Says Devin Nunes” HERE)
By The Hill. “Travesty” is not a nice word. It usually is applied to gross perversions of justice, and that apparently is the context Attorney General William Barr desired when he dropped it into an interview answer the other day in the breezy courtyard of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
His composed, understated delivery almost disguised the weighty magnitude of that disturbing word and the loaded adjective that preceded it. “I think what happened to him,” he said, referring to the president and the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into his campaign, “was one of the greatest travesties in American history.”
Okay, it’s important to pause for a moment and absorb what the AG said. He just called an FBI investigation not just a travesty but one of the “greatest” travesties in the nation’s history. It was an unprecedented statement by an attorney general about his own department’s premier agency. . .
Is the AG’s assessment fair? The answer is entwined in his next statement: “Without any basis [the FBI] started this investigation into [Donald Trump’s] campaign … .”
Oops, stop again right there. Mr. Barr is making a definitive statement about that which many of us have speculated all along, namely that the weirdly unprecedented investigative team put together by former FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe did not have adequate legal reasons to open a case into the Trump campaign in the first place. The attorney general just confirmed that. (Read more from “AG Barr Just Signaled That Things Are About to Get Ugly for the Russia Collusion Team” HERE)
Devin Nunes Says There May Be More Criminal Referrals Following Declassified Footnotes
By PJ Media. After Friday’s revelation that the FBI used Russian government disinformation to get secret warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, Congressman Devin Nunes says you can expect more criminal referrals against those who plotted to take down Trump.
The information that many thought likely is now confirmed in black and white in the declassified footnotes of the Inspector General’s report on the FISA court abuses.
#FISA READ footnote 350 FBI effort to verify Steele Dossier “The (redacted) stated that it did not have high confidence in this subset of Steele’s reporting and ASSESSED that the referenced subset was part of a Russian disinformation campaign to denigrate US foreign relations” pic.twitter.com/7aVvNkx3BV
On Fox and Friends on Saturday morning, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee said the revelations reported on Friday before the holiday weekend mean that he’ll be calling for more criminal referrals.
“People should go and look at the footnotes that are now public, ok? Because likely we’re going to have more criminals referrals based on these.
We know the Democrats were spreading disinformation, Russian disinformation, which we were saying the whole time. It never made sense he would have a political operative – the Clinton campaign working with Fusion GPS, hiring a former foreign spy – that they know is supposedly getting information from a Russian intel folks.

It Looks Like Putin Conned the FBI Into the ‘Russiagate’ Probe
By New York Post. It is becoming increasingly clear that the Russia investigation launched and conducted by James Comey’s Federal Bureau of Investigation deserves to rank as one of the agency’s great blunders — at best.
President Trump famously calls the probe a hoax, a label he uses liberally, but in this instance, it may literally be true.
We’ve spent years obsessing about Russian meddling in our politics, and now it turns out that the original FBI investigation into the Trump campaign that morphed into the Mueller probe may have been instigated, in part, by Russian disinformation.
In other words, the Kremlin may have succeeded in getting us to turn even more viciously against ourselves and conduct our politics in an atmosphere characterized by screaming headlines, dark insinuations and endless investigations — all by feeding a few lies to a private eye hired by the Hillary Clinton campaign to dig up dirt on Trump. Rep. Devin Nunes said he is exploring “all” of his legal options in response to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff subpoenaing and releasing his phone records during the recent Ukraine-related impeachment investigation.
The California Republican, who is the ranking member on the intelligence panel, gave an update to Larry O’Connor on the Examining Politics podcast last week.
“We’re going to look at all the legal remedies that we can take,” Nunes said, adding that the situation is “complicated” because of the “corrupt Democratic Congress” and because “the fake news media make up and build narratives.”
The phone call logs, subpoenaed from AT&T and Verizon, appear in a 658-page December report from House Democrats, including records of some phone calls by Nunes, presidential lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekulow, journalist John Solomon, Fox News host Sean Hannity, indicted Giuliani associate Lev Parnas, and others. . .
“I’m in California, so for sure, state law, you cannot release somebody’s phone records,” Nunes said. “So, for sure, that right has been violated. But, we also have to look at the constitutional aspects of this, and do all the members of Congress have a right to privacy, and can just one member, because he doesn’t like someone and he’s a political opponent of someone, can that member just subpoena records and then release just to embarrass or to create a distraction or to build whatever fantasy-land narrative that they continue to build?” (Read more from “Not Forgotten: Devin Nunes Exploring ‘Legal Remedies’ After Adam Schiff Released Phone Records” HERE)

. . .In a scathing letter, House Intelligence Committee ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) told committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) that he is “in need of rehabilitation” after the Department of Justice inspector general report on the FBI’s Russia investigation directly contradicted several of Schiff’s previous assertions.
“After publishing false conclusions of such enormity on a topic directly within this committee’s oversight responsibilities, it is clear you are in need of rehabilitation, and I hope this letter will serve as the first step in that vital process,” Nunes wrote before pointing out a series of false statements by Schiff. . .
Nunes went on to praise Schiff for acknowledging the FBI committed errors in its FISA warrant process, but noted he “dramatically” downplayed “the scale of the abuse the IG uncovered.” Still, Nunes said it was “a valuable first step—a baby step, but a step nonetheless—in your rehabilitation.”
The California Republican then cited Schiff’s criticisms of Attorney General Bill Bar and U.S. Attorney John Durham expressing concern over the IG report as evidence that his “rehabilitation will be a long, arduous process.”
Nunes added that “when the IG identified gross abuses in [Schiff’s] jurisdiction,” the Democrat “expressed full faith” in the agencies he was supposed to be “vigilantly monitoring” and “rejected any oversight whatsoever of their supposed clean-up efforts.” (Read more from “Nunes to Schiff: You Need to Go to Rehab for Lying and ‘Admit You Have a Problem'” HERE)

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) revealed over the weekend that his personal phone records do not match those that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) publicized last week.
Prior to the House Judiciary Committee holding its first public impeachment hearings, Schiff’s committee released its 300-page report on impeachment. Included in the document were the personal phone records of Nunes — the House Intelligence Committee’s ranking member — Rudy Giuliani, journalist John Solomon, among others. Schiff did not say how he obtained the records or why he publicized them.
But according to Nunes, who spoke with Fox News on Saturday, the records of his that Schiff publicized are not accurate.
“Finally, yesterday, I had a chance to go through all of my phone records, and I can tell you — my phone records do not match what Schiff and the Democrats put in that report,” Nunes said.
In response to a follow up question from Fox News’ Ed Henry, Nunes added, “Let me tell you what I have. What I have doesn’t match [what Schiff released].” (Read more from “Devin Nunes Reveals Alarming Fact About His Phone Records” HERE)
