Republicans Ripping DeSantis for Feuding With Disney Took Company’s Campaign Cash

Prominent Republicans who have criticized Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ actions against The Walt Disney Company have received significant donations from the media giant’s corporate political action committee, according to campaign finance records published by the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

DeSantis and Disney have been at odds since early 2022, when the Florida legislature passed a law signed by DeSantis stripping Disney of municipal powers within its special district after Disney criticized Florida’s Parental Rights In Education Law. Recently, several top Republicans have come out opposing the governor’s feud with the company, arguing that it’s bad for business, at a time when DeSantis is widely expected to run for president in 2024; however, many of these Republicans raked in campaign contributions from Disney executives and employees.

Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who recently suggested that DeSantis’s actions were “problematic,” has received $20,500 since 2016 from Disney, of which $11,000 was donated to his most recent election campaign, according to FEC data. The money was formally donated by The Walt Disney Company Employees PAC, a political action committee run by Disney’s top executives that was organized in 1993 by then-CEO Michael D. Eisner.

A PAC officially affiliated with Rubio, known as the “Reclaim America PAC,” has received $35,000 since 2011, with the funds being used to support his re-election campaigns and donate to other candidates, per FEC data.

Rubio questioned “the idea that somehow if you run crossways with us politically, whoever’s in charge, then you may wind up in the crosshairs of the legislature for political purposes to make a statement at you,” when asked about DeSantis’ battle with Disney in a recent interview with Fox News. Disney Faces Backlash Over Sebastian and Flounder in New ‘Little Mermaid’

Disney is facing an online backlash over the character designs of Flounder and Sebastian in the upcoming remake of The Little Mermaid.

It’s less than a month until the new live-action version hits cinemas, but there’s growing discontent on Twitter over the design of the two fan-favorite characters. . .

This latest furor centers on the decision to depict Sebastian and Flounder in a hyper-realistic manner, with some fans evidently unhappy at the filmmakers for moving away from the cuddly, cartoonish approach adopted in the 1989 movie. . .

Commenting on a tweet by Discussing Film, featuring posters of Sebastian and Flounder, one fan wrote: “These don’t look like memorable, one-of-a-kind Disney characters, they just look like generic realistic crab and fish renders.”

Ex-Disney World Employee Admits Taking Hundreds of ‘Upskirt’ Videos

An ex-Disney worker in Florida is accused of recording an “upskirt” video of a woman at the Star-Wars themed shop where he was employed.

The incident involving the 18-year-old woman took place at the Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios. Officials eventually arrested 26-year-old Jorge Diaz Vega on March 31, Fox News reported Sunday.

An arrest affidavit said the man admitted to recording hundreds of videos up women’s skirts and dresses at the location over a several year period.

“Diaz Vega told deputies he had over 500 videos on his phone, which he said he recorded as a ‘guilty pleasure’ for his own sexual gratification, since ‘it is hard to find them online,’ the affidavit states,” per the Fox report.

The day of his arrest, a security guard saw the suspect allegedly record a clip of the young woman who was shopping at the store known as Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities with her fiancé. (Read more from “Ex-Disney World Employee Admits Taking Hundreds of ‘Upskirt’ Videos” HERE)

What the Devil? New Disney Show Focuses on Teen-Girl Sex With Satan

Disney has moved deeply and quickly to change its products, which for decades were entertainment for children, to indoctrination in the LGBT ideology.

It has built new story lines around LGBT characters, has openly battled with Florida over the state’s plan to protect young children in school from inappropriate sex instructions, has even put warning labels on some older projects to advise that they do not any longer meet the requirements of the company for being politically correct.

Now it’s taking an even bigger step: It’s new programming on Disney+ will feature a teen who falls in love with the devil. . .

The report explains the new show is “Pauline” and the main character, 18, “becomes pregnant – from a one-night stand” with “Lukas” the devil.

“With school stress, the climate crisis and the downfall of society weighing heavily on her mind, something she doesn’t need at all right now is catching feelings, especially not for her one-night stand Lukas, who, as it turns out, is the devil himself,” the report explained. No, Slaves Didn’t Build This Country (VIDEO)

Not long ago, Disney ripped off any pretense of being a family company and dove head-first into the social justice muck with an episode of “The Proud Family” that featured a slam poetry segment that echoed the fringe critical race theory claim that “slaves built this country.”

As RedState reported, it soon surfaced that the writer of the show is a very loud and proud social justice radical named Latoya Raveneau, who has a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” and wants to introduce “queerness” to the shows your kids watch whenever she gets the chance. She also bragged that no one at Disney is trying to stop her.

First things first, we need to torpedo this idea that slaves built this country. While it’d be unrealistic to say they weren’t a part of the nation’s development, putting them as the prime constructors of an entire nation is like saying the guy who crafted the axle at the car factory built your vehicle. He was definitely a part of it, but he hardly gets to take full credit.

So many kinds of people came to the new world and worked their own land, built their own towns, and established their own societies without the help of slaves. For one, the Trans-Atlantic slave trade transported well over 12 million slaves, but only a little over 300,000 made their way into the United States. This didn’t happen all at once. Slavery did officially begin in 1619, but it began with just over 20 slaves.

To think that over the course of time that singular group of people built an entire nation — even a burgeoning one — by themselves is the height of fantasy. Especially as you continue to plug in the numbers. (Read more from “No, Slaves Didn’t Build This Country (VIDEO)” HERE)

Disney Cuts ‘Simpsons’ Episode That Mentions Forced Labor Camps From Chinese Platform

Disney, ever eager to avoid any confrontation with the Chinese Communist government, cut an episode of The Simpsons from Disney Plus streaming platform in Hong Kong that referenced “forced labor camps” in China.

The episode, titled “One Angry Lisa,” aired in October 2022 and showed the instructor of Marge Simpson’s virtual bike class state, “Behold the wonders of China. Bitcoin mines, forced labor camps where children make smartphones.” Another episode of the show that broadcast in 2005 mentioned the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre and the Chinese government’s efforts to suppress knowledge of it; it was cut in 2021.

Cutting the episode had “more to do with the company’s ties, current and future, in mainland China,” Kenny Ng, associate professor at the Academy of Film at Hong Kong Baptist University, said, adding, “It could be strategic to eliminate any China-offending episodes.”

Yet the Hong Kong government, responding to the situation, stated that its recent film censorship regime, enacted in 2021 to prevent films from posing a risk to national security, “does not apply to streaming services,” Financial Times reported.

Hong Kong, formerly a British colony, was given to China in 1997. (Read more from “Disney Cuts ‘Simpsons’ Episode That Mentions Forced Labor Camps From Chinese Platform” HERE)

Disney Slammed for ‘Anti-White Propaganda’ in Show for Kids

A reboot of the Disney show “The Proud Family” is receiving backlash over a rap in a recent episode of the cartoon featuring kids singing about slavery and reparations, arguing that America “owes” black Americans because America “still has not atoned for” its systemic prejudice, racism and White supremacy.

“This country was built on slavery, which means slaves built this country,” the song repeatedly stated in the Disney+ episode of “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” which reviewed the history of Juneteenth.

“The descendants of slaves continue to build it, slaves built this country and we the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering and continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for,” the children chanted.

Lawsuit Says Disney Was a ‘State Actor’ Colluding With Government to Force Vaccine on Employees

A lawsuit filed by two Disney employees who were fired for refusing the COVID vaccine alleged that Disney is closely enmeshed with the government and that when it forced a vaccine mandate on its employees, it was essentially a “state actor” — which would make it subject to the Constitution’s “equal protection clause,” lawyers wrote.

The theory underscores the extent to which the Biden administration has relied on corporations to implement policies that might not be constitutional for the government to do itself, from social media censorship to airline employee vaccine mandates.

“The Constitution provides that the government, and state actors cannot take life, liberty or property without due process and equal protection of the law,” the suit said. “There is no dispute that the Defense Department was looking to partner with private business in its effort to vaccinate. At what point does partnership go beyond independent entities working voluntarily toward a shared mission to entwinement, such that they can be considered a state actor?”

“Had the government instituted a requirement that all professional athletes and personnel of leading media outlet are required to receive a vaccination, without rights to exemption, such an action would be subject to an equal protection challenge for its treatment of professional athletes and leading media differently than other similarly situated persons,” it said. “A state actor performing such a function is subject to an equal protection challenge on the same basis.” (Read more from “Lawsuit Says Disney Was a ‘State Actor’ Colluding With Government to Force Vaccine on Employees” HERE)

First Disney Movie With Teen Gay Romance Falls Short at Box Office

Disney’s first animated film featuring a teen homosexual romance fell far short of expectations at the box office, bringing in under $20 million in tickets sold in its first five days in theaters, according to Nash Information Services.

“Strange World” is the latest product for a company that has not been shy about its commitment to progressive ideology. According to a survey by the American Conservative Values ETF (ACVF), an investment advisory service, conservatives now rate Disney as the “most woke or liberal” company in America.

Released on Nov. 23, the animated science-fiction adventure includes a teenage boy named Ethan who has same-sex desires. Ethan is one of the main characters, and his sexuality is a minor plot point in the movie, which mostly focuses on the connection between fathers and sons.

Variety magazine reported the film’s budget to be $180 million. Deadline Hollywood reported that the movie cost Disney $135 million.

“Strange World” features two scenes in which Ethan bats eyes at his gay teenage crush, Diazo. Every character in the movie unequivocally accepts Ethan’s homosexuality. (Read more from “First Disney Movie With Teen Gay Romance Falls Short at Box Office” HERE)

Returning CEO Iger Wants Disney to Stay Away From Cultural Issues, ‘Have Respect’ for Audience

Returning Disney CEO Bob Iger wants the company to veer away from involving itself in hot-button cultural issues.

Mr. Iger responded to several questions at an internal town hall with Disney employees, according to independent journalist Christopher Rufo.

“Do I like the company being embroiled in controversy? Of course not,” Mr. Iger said in response to a suggestion that staffers wished Disney stayed out of politics. “It can be distracting, and it can have a negative impact on the company. And to the extent that I can work to kind of quiet things down, I’m going to do that.”

The returning CEO, who was brought back last week to replace successor Bob Chapek in a surprise move by Disney’s board, also lamented the damaged relationship the family entertainment giant has with the state of Florida.

The public fight between Disney and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over what critics call the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill doled a major blow to the company’s standing. (Read more from “Returning CEO Iger Wants Disney to Stay Away From Cultural Issues, ‘Have Respect’ for Audience” HERE)
