DOJ Will Appeal Ruling Nixing Mask Mandates

The Department of Justice announced Tuesday evening the Biden administration will appeal Monday’s ruling by a federal judge in Florida striking down mask mandates for travel.

“The Department of Justice and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) disagree with the district court’s decision and will appeal, subject to CDC’s conclusion that the order remains necessary for public health. The Department continues to believe that the order requiring masking in the transportation corridor is a valid exercise of the authority Congress has given CDC to protect the public health. That is an important authority the Department will continue to work to preserve,” DOJ released in a statement. “On April 13, 2022, before the district court’s decision, CDC explained that the order would remain in effect while it assessed current public health conditions, and that the Transportation Security Administration would extend its directive implementing the order until May 3 to facilitate CDC’s assessment.”

DOJ Announces It’s Suing Critical GOP State Over New Congressional Map

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Monday the Department of Justice (DOJ) is suing the state of Texas over its new congressional districts.

Garland announced the lawsuit at a press conference, alleging that Texas officials are violating Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act by lumping too many black and Latino voters into too few districts to dilute their votes. Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta said the new redistricting plan will diminish increased minority voting strength caused by recent population shifts.

“Today the Department of Justice has filed suit against the state of Texas for violating Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act,” Garland said. “As the Supreme Court has observed, a core principal of our democracy is that ‘voters should choose their representatives, not the other way around.’” (Read more from “DOJ Announces It’s Suing Critical GOP State Over New Congressional Map” HERE)

WH Defends DOJ Using FBI in School Board Protests

The White House defended the Justice Department from complaints it was being politicized after Attorney General Merrick Garland escalated his federal agency’s response to threats against public school officials and teachers.

Threats of violence against public servants are illegal, which includes public school board members and educators, according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki. Republican lawmakers have expressed concern the department would target parents who are concerned about public schools’ policies.

Psaki said President Joe Biden supported the parents’ right to protest.

“He doesn’t stand for the fundamental right — I assume you don’t either — for people to take violent action against public servants. And that’s what the threats are about,” she told reporters.

School board meetings nationwide have become increasingly confrontational as officials and parents clash over how to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, particularly over mask or vaccine mandates for students and staff. There are also becoming heated over the perceived importance placed on critical race theory in curricula. Some parents are concerned the theory indoctrinates children into thinking the United States is an inherently racist society. 17 Vaccines Mandated by the US Military Before COVID-19 Shots

The Department of Defense has announced plans to add the coronavirus vaccine to the list of mandated vaccines.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Monday that he will seek the president’s approval to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine by mid-September if the Food and Drug Administration doesn’t approve it before then. This will mark the 18th vaccine to be mandated for the armed forces, though it’s unlikely that a service member would receive all of them because many are location-specific, a spokesperson for the Department of Defense told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday.

The Defense Department’s vaccine mandates are separated by the combatant commands that divide the globe into seven entities: Africa Command, Central Command, European Command, Indo-Pacific Command, Northern Command, Northern Command, and Space Command.

There are nine vaccines that are mandated for military members in any of the six earthbound commands: chickenpox, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, MMR, pneumococcal, rabies, Tdap, typhoid, polio, and influenza, according to the Military Health System.

DOJ Uses Scare Quotes to Threaten State Election Integrity Efforts

Joe Biden’s Department of Justice is using scare quotes in a new guidance that it has issued to threaten state election integrity efforts.

The guidance repeatedly refers to post-election “audits,” using the quotes to suggest that’s not what they really are.

And it lists a number of examples of illegal activities – although it does not connect those with the Arizona election audit that has been going on for some months already, or the other states that are considering them.

The recounts and reviews of election results from the 2020 presidential race were triggered by evidence that suggested fraud or manipulation. Multiple legacy media outlet fact-checkers have said there was absolutely no inappropriate behavior in the election.

But it’s not even contested that there were outside influences, that leftist Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook handed over some $350 million to mostly leftist elections officials to help them “run” the 2020 count. Further, multiple state officials arbitrarily changed state voting laws and procedures to accommodate COVID conditions, even though the Constitution limits those who can make those changes to state lawmakers. Rumors of U.S. Secretly Harboring Top China Official Swirl; Pushing Against China, U.S. Lawmakers Plan Pro-Taiwan Bill

By The Daily Beast. Chinese-language anti-communist media and Twitter are abuzz this week with rumors that a vice minister of State Security, Dong Jingwei defected in mid-February, flying from Hong Kong to the United States with his daughter, Dong Yang.

Dong Jingwei supposedly gave the U.S. information about the Wuhan Institute of Virology that changed the stance of the Biden administration concerning the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dong is, or was, a longtime official in China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS), also known as the Guoanbu. His publicly available background indicates that he was responsible for the Ministry’s counterintelligence efforts in China, i.e., spy-catching, since being promoted to vice minister in April 2018. If the stories are true, Dong would be the highest-level defector in the history of the People’s Republic of China.

Dong’s defection was raised by Chinese officials last March at the Sino-American summit in Alaska, according to Dr. Han Lianchao, a former Chinese foreign ministry official before defecting after the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre. In a Wednesday tweet, Han, citing an unnamed source, alleged that China’s foreign minister Wang Yi and Communist Party foreign affairs boss Yang Jiechi demanded that the Americans return Dong, and U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken refused. Pushing Against China, U.S. Lawmakers Plan Pro-Taiwan Bill

By Reuters. Democratic and Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives will introduce legislation this week seeking to boost U.S. support for Taiwan, part of an effort in Congress to take a hard line in dealings with China.

Representatives Ami Bera and Steve Chabot, the Democratic and Republican leaders of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Asia subcommittee, will introduce the “Taiwan Peace and Stability Act,” a measure “to support the diplomatic, economic and physical space” of the self-governing island.

“Hopefully we’re able to pass something in a bipartisan way on the House floor,” Bera said in a telephone interview. “I think this is an area where we can hopefully speak with one voice.”

Biden’s DOJ to States: Bans on Transgender Youth Health Care Are Unconstitutional

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday filed court documents saying recently passed laws in Arkansas and West Virginia restricting transgender rights are unconstitutional.

The legal briefs, shared on Twitter by The Huffington Post, argue that the state laws violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.

The DOJ called the Arkansas law “dangerous governmental intrusion.” One of the provisions in the state law prevents doctors from performing gender reassignment surgeries.

“Rather than rely on the judgment of medical professionals and evidence-based treatment guidelines, Arkansas has inserted itself within one of the most confidential and personal of relationships: the physician-patient relationship,” the DOJ wrote. Trump’s DOJ Official Resigns Amid Uproar Over Spying Scandal (VIDEO)

John Demers, the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) top national security official, is reportedly resigning amid news that the department issued seizures and gag orders to obtain records from the press and Democratic lawmakers.

Demers will leave by the end of next week, a DOJ official said according to The Associated Press. U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York Mark Lesko will reportedly replace Demers, according to the official. DOJ Threatens To Abandon Legal Protections for Religious Schools

The Biden Department of Justice briefly instigated outrage from progressives recently when it filed a routine legal brief promising to defend Title IX’s statutory exemption for religious colleges. The DOJ filed the brief to fend off efforts by religious colleges, some of whom are represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, to intervene in a lawsuit brought by 40 past and present LGBT college students who claim the exemption violates the U.S. Constitution.

The exemption safeguards the ability of religious colleges that receive federal funds to maintain faith-based polices governing such things as student sexual conduct and sex-specific student housing. The DOJ wrote in its brief that it shared the proposed intervenors’ “ultimate objective…to defend the statutory exemption and its current application. . .

Amid this tour de force in obfuscation, the DOJ made one thing clear: the Department of Education is reviewing its Title IX regulations to ensure their consistency with the Biden administration’s “policy on guaranteeing an educational environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex.” Also, “until that process is complete,” the DOJ noted, “it would be premature to conclude that the government is an inadequate representative.” . . .

Echoing that order, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Pam Karlan of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division—the division charged with coordinating the enforcement and application of Title IX by executive agencies—concluded that, in light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, Title IX now applies to gender identity and sexual orientation, even though Congress has persistently rejected numerous attempts to amend the statute to do that very thing. Facebook Faces Lawsuit for Discriminating Against Americans

The Department of Justice has quietly given the green light to a lawsuit charging Facebook with a policy of discriminating against thousands of job-seekers because they are American.

“Employers take note: Dept of Justice ALJ allows complaint that Facebook discriminated against US workers …. Case now goes to trial,” said a June 8 tweet by immigration lawyer William Stock.

“As the Court has previously held, allegations of manipulating the hiring practice to disqualify individuals based on citizenship, meet the legal standard in this forum for stating a claim upon which relief can be granted,” said the June 2 decision by the department’s little-known Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer (OCAHO).

The decision denied Facebook’s plea to dismiss the December 2020 discrimination complaint by officials working for President Donald Trump.

“It’s great that OCAHO is doing this, ” responded Bob Heath, a Florida-based tech entrepreneur who has filed several lawsuits against Fortune 500 subcontractors for discriminating against Americans. “The EEOC [Equal Employment Opportunity Commission] needs to jump on board, and the Department of Labor needs to jump on board,” Heath told Breitbart News.
