Majority of Voters Predict Trump Will Win General Election, Poll Reveals

A recent Economist-YouGov poll sheds light on the prevailing sentiments among registered voters, indicating that a significant majority believe former President Donald Trump would secure victory in the general election if he becomes the GOP nominee. The findings, published on Tuesday, underscore a sense of confidence in Trump’s potential return to the White House.

According to the poll, 56 percent of registered voters anticipate a Trump triumph in the general election, with 30 percent expressing certainty that he “would definitely win” if nominated by the Republican Party. In contrast, only 29 percent believe Trump would lose to a Democratic opponent in a hypothetical match-up, revealing a widespread expectation of a Trump resurgence.

The survey delves into predictions for other potential GOP candidates, highlighting varying degrees of optimism. For instance, only 28 percent of respondents, to varying extents, envision former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) defeating a Democrat nominee, while a plurality of 45 percent predicts her loss. Similarly, a plurality of 43 percent anticipates a Democrat victory against Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), compared to 36 percent who believe he would likely win.

Anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy faces skepticism, with just 19 percent believing he would likely or probably outperform a Democrat, while 54 percent express a belief in his likelihood of losing.

When voters were asked to predict the outcome of a face-off between Trump and Biden, 44 percent favored Trump, while 39 percent leaned towards Biden. Notably, voters envision a tighter race between Trump and a generic Democrat than between Trump and Biden directly.

Interestingly, in a hypothetical election between Trump and Biden, both candidates were tied at 43 percent, highlighting the competitiveness of such a match-up. Six percent would support someone else, five percent remain undecided, and three percent would abstain.

Among key demographics, Trump leads Biden among independents, securing 42 percent to Biden’s 33 percent. However, Biden maintains an advantage with black voters (73 percent to 15 percent) and Hispanics (46 percent to 37 percent).

In terms of the Republican primary, Trump continues to dominate with 65 percent support, leaving other potential candidates trailing significantly. Haley secures second place with 12 percent, followed by DeSantis at ten percent, Ramaswamy at five percent, and former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) at one percent.

Judge Rescinds Permission for Trump to Give His Own Closing Argument at His Civil Fraud Trial

Donald Trump won’t make his own closing argument in his New York civil business fraud trial after his lawyers objected to the judge’s insistence that the former president would stick to “relevant” matters.

Judge Arthur Engoron rescinded permission on Wednesday, a day ahead of closing arguments in the trial.

The trial could cost Trump hundreds of millions of dollars in penalties and strip him of his ability to do business in New York. His lawyers had signaled last week that he planned to take the extraordinary step of delivering a summation personally, in addition to arguments from his legal team. Trump Reveals Ted Kennedy’s Thoughts of Joe Biden as the ‘Dumbest’ Senator

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, former President Donald Trump shared an intriguing account of a conversation with the late Senator Ted Kennedy, revealing that Kennedy once regarded now-President Joe Biden as the “dumbest” person in the U.S. Senate.

Trump, who ran against Biden in the 2020 presidential election, described Biden as a “very vicious guy” surrounded by “vicious people,” emphasizing that despite the public perception of Biden as ‘nice,’ his true nature is different.

The former president recounted an encounter with Ted Kennedy, a Palm Beach resident, where he asked Kennedy about the smartest and dumbest individuals in the Senate. According to Trump, Kennedy identified Joe Biden as the “dumbest” due to his alleged lack of understanding of complex concepts, policies, and issues such as taxes.

Trump suggested that Biden’s ability to project an image of niceness has allowed him to deceive the American public, even though, according to Kennedy, he may lack intellectual acumen. The former president argued that Biden’s current advisors are ‘vicious’ and will ultimately contribute to his downfall.

Kennedy, a long-serving senator from Massachusetts, passed away in August 2009, during Barack Obama’s first term when Biden served as vice president.

Additionally, Trump accused Biden of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” He expressed his belief that leftists steering Biden’s administration are motivated by a desire to cling to power, even at the expense of the country’s well-being.

Trump raised concerns about the weaponization of government institutions against political opponents, describing it as a dangerous move resembling tactics seen in third-world countries. He asserted that these leftists are “unrestrained lunatics” willing to do whatever it takes, but expressed confidence that his side will prevail.

Media Outlets Bury Epstein Accuser’s Retracted Trump Allegations

In a shocking revelation on Monday, numerous media outlets ran headlines linking former President Donald Trump to the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein based on court documents that included emails from Epstein victim Sarah Ransome. However, buried within these reports was a critical detail: Ransome had retracted her allegations against Trump back in 2019.

The headlines, splashed across various news platforms, suggested that Trump had been named in the latest Epstein documents, creating a media frenzy. Yet, the crucial fact that Ransome had withdrawn her claims went unnoticed in the lead paragraphs of these articles.

Court documents disclosed on Monday contained Ransome’s 2016 emails to the New York Post, claiming she possessed Epstein-related sex tapes involving prominent figures such as Trump, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Sir Richard Branson. However, when pressed for the tapes, Ransome failed to provide any evidence, and no such footage has ever been uncovered.

The New Yorker reported in 2019 that Ransome admitted to fabricating the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior and to make him believe she had evidence that would be revealed if he harmed her. Despite this retraction, media outlets ran with the old and debunked news, burying the lead that Ransome had already disavowed her claims years ago.

The Daily Mail’s headline, “Donald Trump named in latest Epstein documents: Sarah Ransome said he had sex with ‘many girls,'” failed to mention Ransome’s retraction until four paragraphs down. Similarly, the New York Post’s headline, “Epstein accuser claims pedophile had sex tapes of Trump, Clinton, Prince Andrew and Richard Branson: new docs,” only acknowledged the retraction four paragraphs later.

Author and investigative reporter Vicky Ward, known for her 2003 profile on Epstein for Vanity Fair, emphasized the complexity of covering such stories in a video on her Substack. Ward stated, “Very importantly, Sarah Ransome has since said that isn’t true — that she invented the sex tapes because she was so terrified of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at the time.”

House Republicans Challenge Key Witness Jan. 6 Testimony, Threaten Subpoena Over Inconsistencies

In a latest development surrounding the investigations into the events of January 6, House Republicans on the Oversight Subcommittee for House Administration have raised concerns over the testimony provided by key witness Cassidy Hutchinson. Chairman Barry Loudermilk of Georgia spearheaded a letter sent to Hutchinson on Monday, demanding her to preserve and produce all records and materials related to her testimonies concerning the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

The Daily Caller obtained a copy of the letter, in which Loudermilk expressed reservations about inconsistencies in Hutchinson’s statements. Loudermilk highlighted that during a June 28, 2022, Select Committee hearing, Hutchinson claimed that former President Donald Trump attempted to grab the steering wheel from a Secret Service employee, an assertion not mentioned in her previous three transcribed interviews on February 23, 2022, March 7, 2022, and May 17, 2022.

Loudermilk’s letter instructs Hutchinson to preserve and produce all relevant documents, communications, and electronic information, including metadata, related to her testimonies. The demand encompasses materials previously submitted to the Select Committee and extends to electronic messages from official and personal accounts or devices, covering text messages, phone-based applications, and encryption software.

Loudermilk emphasized the need for Hutchinson to take reasonable steps to prevent any destruction, alteration, deletion, or mishandling of records that could impact the ongoing congressional inquiry. The deadline for providing unredacted documents to the subcommittee is set for January 26, 2024.

Prior to sending the letter, Loudermilk expressed deep concern over Hutchinson’s actions, stating that the significant changes in her testimony raise serious questions about her credibility. Loudermilk warned that if Hutchinson fails to provide the requested documents, he will not hesitate to issue a subpoena for further questioning.

Hutchinson gained attention after testifying before the Jan. 6 committee, claiming that Donald Trump attempted to reroute a vehicle to the Capitol, where protesters were gathering. However, sources close to the Secret Service have denied her claims.

Trump Calls for Firing of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Over Secret Hospitalization

Former President Donald Trump has publicly demanded the immediate firing of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, citing “improper professional conduct” and a “dereliction of duty” related to the delayed announcement about Austin’s hospitalization. Trump issued the call for action from his Truth Social account on Sunday.

In his statement, Trump asserted, “Failed Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin should be fired immediately for improper professional conduct and dereliction of duty. He has been missing for one week, and nobody, including his boss, Crooked Joe Biden, had a clue as to where he was, or might be.” The former president further criticized Austin’s overall performance, suggesting that he should have been dismissed long ago, along with General Mark Milley, for various reasons, with a particular focus on the “catastrophic surrender in Afghanistan.”

The controversy surrounding Lloyd Austin’s hospitalization unfolded when it was revealed that he had hidden his admission to the hospital’s intensive care unit for several days. This lack of disclosure raised serious questions about Austin’s judgment and also prompted scrutiny of President Biden’s awareness of his defense secretary’s health status. The situation became even more concerning given the escalating tensions between U.S. troops and Iran-backed proxy groups in the Middle East.

The revelation of Austin’s hospitalization occurred against the backdrop of recent U.S. warnings to Houthi rebels and a drone strike in Iraq targeting an Iran-backed militia leader. The lack of clarity about Austin’s medical condition, coupled with the Pentagon’s decision to cite “privacy” for not providing explicit details, contributed to the confusion surrounding the situation.

In response to the growing controversy, Austin issued a statement on Saturday acknowledging that he could have done a “better job ensuring the public was appropriately informed.”

Poll Reveals Record Low Satisfaction With Democracy Under Biden’s Presidency

A recent Gallup poll has uncovered a notable decline in the satisfaction of Americans with the state of democracy under President Joe Biden’s administration. According to the survey, only 28 percent of U.S. adults express contentment with the “way democracy is working,” marking a record low compared to the 35 percent recorded after the events of January 6, 2021.

Gallup’s analysis, conducted by Jeffrey Jones, points to various factors contributing to this decline in satisfaction. Economic concerns, disapproval of the current leadership’s performance, heightened political polarization, the enduring influence of former President Donald Trump, and apprehensions about election security, voting rights, and the independence of the courts all play a role in shaping public sentiment.

Breaking down the data by political affiliation, Republicans exhibit the lowest satisfaction at 17 percent, while Democrats register the highest at 38 percent. Independents fall in between at 27 percent. Interestingly, all three groups are less satisfied than they were in 2021, shortly after Biden assumed office.

Jones notes the typical trend where partisans tend to express greater satisfaction when a president from their own party is in office. However, recent surveys have consistently shown Democrats being more content than Republicans during Democratic presidencies.

Gallup’s historical perspective reveals that the highest satisfaction levels were recorded in the initial 1984 poll, with 61 percent of Americans expressing contentment. A similar figure of 60 percent was observed in 1991. The recent survey, conducted between December 1-20, 2023, sampled 1,013 U.S. adults, with a margin of sampling error of ±4 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.

State Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Seeking to Remove Trump from Ballot

An Albany County, Wyoming, judge dismissed a complaint that sought to remove former President Donald Trump — the leading Republican presidential candidate — from the ballot in the Cowboy State, citing Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment.

The lawsuit, which Judge Misha Westby dismissed on Friday as Fox News reported, was brought by retired attorney Tim Newcomb and mirrored arguments in efforts to take Trump off the ballot in other states, including Colorado and Maine.

Specifically, the complaint contended that Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment barred both Trump and Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) “from appearing on Wyoming ballots unless Congress removes such disability by a vote of two-thirds of each House.” It argued that Trump failed to uphold the “Constitution’s transfer of presidential power under Article II. Section I,” therefore disqualifying him from the ballot while Lummis “disqualified herself from appearing on Wyoming’s ballot when she refused to count Pennsylvania’s electoral ballots to the electoral count required by Article II, Section 1.”

Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray, the defendant in the case, expressed his joy with the dismissal of Newcomb’s “repugnant” lawsuit in a release shared with Fox News.

“I am extremely pleased with Judge Westby’s decision to dismiss Mr. Newcomb’s outrageously wrong and repugnant lawsuit to remove Donald Trump and Cynthia Lummis from the ballot in Wyoming,” Gray said. (Read more from “State Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Seeking to Remove Trump from Ballot” HERE)

Biden’s 2024 Rhetoric: Compares Trump to Nazi Germany in First Speech of the Year (VIDEO)

In a recent speech near Valley Forge, President Joe Biden escalated his rhetoric against former President Donald Trump, likening him to Nazi Germany and recycling old attack lines from the 2020 presidential campaign.

In his first 2024 campaign speech, Biden recycled old attacks on Trump, revisiting unsubstantiated claims about derogatory remarks towards fallen soldiers. The president also criticized Trump for considering the use of the Insurrection Act in 2020, omitting context about the widespread violent protests during Black Lives Matter movements.

Despite being in a position to focus on past achievements and plans for a second term, Biden centered much of his speech on portraying Trump as a threat to democracy. The president’s emphasis on the third anniversary of the Capitol riot and his avoidance of left-wing insurrections suggests a strategic move to use the January 6 event as a central theme in his campaign rhetoric.

During his speech, Biden drew a controversial parallel between Trump and Nazi Germany, stating, “Echoing the same exact language used in Nazi Germany, he [Trump] proudly posts on social media the words that best describe his 2024 campaign: ‘revenge,’ ‘power,’ ‘dictatorship.'”

Biden referenced a “word cloud” created by the Daily Mail to depict terms associated with Trump, which the former president reposted. The words included “revenge” and “dictatorship,” leading Biden to assert, “There’s no confusion about who Trump is and what he intends to do.”

The president further emphasized the significance of the upcoming elections, stating, “America, as we begin this election year, we must be clear: democracy is on the ballot. Your freedom is on the ballot.”

As Biden struggles in the polls, the fear-focused campaign strategy becomes apparent. The president’s decision to steer away from hope and focus on portraying Trump as a menace indicates a deliberate effort to influence public perception as the 2024 election season unfolds.
