Trump Could Be Eyeing This Woman for VP

Former President Donald Trump may consider someone like Republican New York Rep. Elise Stefanik to be his vice presidential pick, Trump insiders told the Daily Caller.

Stefanik fits the profile of characteristics Trump’s team will be looking for in a VP. She’s rallied behind him in his impeachment proceedings and the New York indictment, and was the first member of GOP leadership to endorse him for president — throwing her weight behind his candidacy before Trump announced it himself. Her commitment could lead Trump to choose her on a basis of loyalty, which those close to Trump say is the most desired quality in a VP.

“Loyalty. That’s the necessary characteristic of anyone who wants to be VP. President Trump and the movement was dragged down by disloyalty in the White House,” a source close to Trump said.

The Caller granted anonymity to some sources familiar with Trump’s thinking to allow them to speak openly on a sensitive matter.

“I see no better fit than Elise Stefanik, but the president will take his own counsel,” Mike Caputo, a longtime friend and adviser to Trump, said. (Read more from “Trump Could Be Eyeing This Woman for VP” HERE)

Trump Explains What It Was Like During ‘Scam’ Arraignment: ‘I’m There to Win an Election’

Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News exclusively that while he was going through the “scam” arraignment in Manhattan, after District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted him, he thought the proceeding was “very unfair” and “very unfortunate.”

Asked during an exclusive interview here after his speech on Friday night to the National Rifle Association (NRA) annual gathering what it was like going through that arraignment, Trump explained that he understands it is entirely political and that he was focused on winning the election the entire time.

“I thought it was very unfair. It was very unfortunate,” Trump said. “I try to not think about what was going through my mind. You know, you’re there to do a thing and I’m there to win an election. I had no idea it was going to drive me even higher. We were doing very well in the polls before that but normally that doesn’t drive you higher it drives you lower sometimes somewhat but sometimes a lot lower. It drove us a lot higher. I think people see it for what it is: It’s a scam. They’re willing to do that. That’s destroying our country, that kind of stuff. That’s old Soviet Union kind of tactics what they would do. I think it’s a disgrace they are allowed to do it.”

This interview was Trump’s second since his indictment and arraignment. His first interview, with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, touched on this topic briefly but focused mostly on foreign policy and the threats of nuclear war. This interview represents the deepest and most in-depth Trump has gone outside of speeches in reacting to what it was like getting indicted and then arraigned in Manhattan.

Trump added, too, that it is his belief that Democrat President Joe Biden is behind the entire thing—and that the White House is running everything. Trump pointed to the fact that Bragg’s office onboarded former senior Department of Justice (DOJ) official Matthew Colangelo late last year—someone who has spent years targeting Trump in his role at the DOJ and previously in his role in the New York Attorney General’s office. Trump Basks in Frontrunner Status: ‘I’m Honored’ by Polling Leads, ‘Party Is Very Unified’ Behind 2024 Campaign

Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News exclusively on Friday night that he is “honored” to be the frontrunner for the White House in the 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump, just off his arraignment post-indictment in New York City, has seen a massive surge of support both in the GOP primary and in general election numbers in recent weeks.

“Well, I’m honored,” Trump said when asked why he thinks he is seeing the surge to frontrunner status. “Sadly, I have to say part of it is because the country is doing so poorly. I wish it were for other reasons. They saw how we did, and now they see the country doing so poorly and so pathetically. We’re not respected by anybody. You have wars all over. Ukraine and Russia never would have happened if I were president — zero chance. It looks like China is going to happen with Taiwan. That never would have happened. And inflation never would have happened. It was caused by energy prices more than anything else. So many of these things were just self-imposed foolish mistakes — stupid mistakes beyond anything anyone has ever seen before. So, yeah, I’m leading a lot in the polls — by 35 or 40 points in almost every poll. Texas just came in and we’re almost 50 points in Texas. Now, Massachusetts is almost 50 points.”

It seems like the indictment from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and the intense national focus on his arraignment, has only fueled Trump’s surge.

In general election numbers, two post-indictment YouGov surveys nationally put Trump ahead of Democrat President Joe Biden, and a Rasmussen Reports survey showed Trump expanding his lead to seven percent over the incumbent president.

Donald Trump Pledges Tax Credit for Teachers Who Train to Be Armed

During his speech at the NRA’s Annual Meeting 2023, former president Donald Trump, a candidate for president in 2024, pledged a tax credit for teachers who take the time to be trained in firearms proficiency for classroom defense.

According to excerpts of prepared remarks provided to Breitbart News by Trump’s team, Trump spoke at the NRA Annual Meeting leadership forum, where he told attendees, “I will also create a new tax credit to reimburse any teacher for the full cost of a concealed-carry firearm and training from highly qualified experts.”

He added, “If even 5 percent of teachers were voluntarily armed and trained to stop active shooters, we would achieve effective deterrence and the problem would cease to exist.” (Read more from “Donald Trump Pledges Tax Credit for Teachers Who Train to Be Armed” HERE)

A Triumphant Trump Asks for NRA Convention’s Help in Returning to White House

Former President Donald Trump had a hero’s return to the National Rifle Association’s annual convention in Indianapolis as he hit the stage to chants of “USA! USA!”

“I was proud to be the most pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment president you’ve ever had in the White House,” Trump said. “I think that’s been acknowledged, and with your support, in 2024, I will be your loyal friend and fearless champion once again as the 47th president of the United States.”

Trump bragged about his poll numbers and briefly referenced several 2024 presidential rivals, including former Vice President Mike Pence, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, as he spoke before gun rights activists at the event.

Pence and Trump have been at odds since the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The NRA convention is the first time the two men are speaking at the same place. Yet Pence has not announced whether he will run.

Nevertheless, Trump had a few positive words for his former running mate. “I hope you gave Pence a good warm approval,” Trump said as some of the NRA crowd booed Pence. “Because he is a nice man if you want to really know the truth. … He’s a good man.” (Read more from “A Triumphant Trump Asks for NRA Convention’s Help in Returning to White House” HERE)

Trump Files Lawsuit Against Michael Cohen Seeking More Than $500 Million

Former President Donald Trump has filed a 32-page lawsuit against his former attorney, Michael Cohen, alleging he “breached his fiduciary duties owed to Trump” by spreading lies and revealing “confidences.”

Trump’s legal team filed the lawsuit, which seeks more than $500 million in damages, against Cohen Wednesday in the Miami Division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

The complaint and demand for a jury trial, which Fox News first reported, allege that Cohen, who is now disbarred in the state of New York, spread “falsehoods about [Trump] with malicious intent” and that he revealed his former client’s “confidences” in addition to other transgressions:

Defendent [Cohen] breached his fiduciary duties owed to Plaintiff [Trump] by virtue of their attorney-client relationship by both revealing Plaintiff’s confidences, and spreading falsehoods about Plaintiff, likely to be embarrassing or detrimental, and partook in other misconduct in violation of New York Rules of Professional Conduct, including Rules 1.5, 1.6, 1.9, and 8.4.

Defendent breached the contractual terms of the confidentiality agreement he signed as a condition of employment with Plaintiff by both revealing Plaintiff’s confidences, and spreading falsehoods about Plaintiff with malicious intent and to wholly self-serving ends.

‘We Support President Trump’: Smollett Hoax Brothers Defend Trump (VIDEO)

The brothers involved in the Jussie Smollett hoax said Thursday on Newsmax that they support former President Donald Trump and warned black voters consume too much “propaganda.”

Smollett alleged he was attacked in 2019 by two men that shouted anti-gay and racist remarks before putting a noose around his neck and pouring bleach on him in Chicago. Police investigated the incident as a hate crime until it fell apart and turned out to be a hoax.

Olabinjo Osundairo and Abimbola Osundairo joined the show to discuss the hoax and the fallout.

“Now, final question, you’re wearing a MAGA hat, how do you feel about MAGA country, MAGA people and maybe Trump or not?” host Eric Bolling asked.

“Well, we’re Americans first, you know and my brother and I … we support all of our presidents. We support President Trump and we think that what’s happening with him right now, is a [tragedy], we don’t think it should be going the way it is,” Olabinjo said. Poll: Trump Leads Primary, Virtual Tie Against Biden

Former President Donald Trump leads the presidential primary field and is in a virtual tie in a general election against President Joe Biden in Pennsylvania. Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) shows an early lead in the Senate election and attracts less than half the voters.

The latest Franklin & Marshall College Poll showed that Trump led the rest of the Republican primary field with 40 percent of the vote, six points over his closest contender, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

With DeSantis at 34 percent, all other named candidates in the Republican primary poll, with 227 registered voters respondents, were in the single digits: former Vice President Mike Pence at six percent and Nikki Haley at four percent. There were also six percent who said “other” and 11 percent who “didn’t know.”

In a head-to-head matchup between Trump and Biden, the two are in a virtual tie. With 643 registered voters and a 4.9 percent margin of error, 36 percent of the respondents said they supported Biden, while, within the margin of error, 35 percent said they would support Trump.

While Trump is officially running for president, Biden has not officially announced if he is running, despite secretly getting everything in place for another announcement. A recent report indicated that he could wait until the fall to announce his bid. (Read more from “Poll: Trump Leads Primary, Virtual Tie Against Biden” HERE)

‘The N-Word’: Trump Says Nuclear War Is the World’s ‘Single Greatest’ Threat

Former President Donald Trump said that the “greatest threat” facing the world was nuclear war during an interview that aired Tuesday evening.

“I call it the ‘n-word.’ You have two ‘n words.’ You don’t mention either one of them,” Trump told Fox News host Tucker Carlson, a co-founder of the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The nuclear word you don’t mention because the power is so destructive. I met with professors at MIT and I was preparing for a debate. I wouldn’t say it was a long preparation, but I did want to talk about nuclear because I consider it to be the single greatest threat the world has, far greater than global warming… not even a contest.”

Trump also called out the Biden administration over its policy towards Russia and was among candidates and potential candidates who answered a series of questions from Carlson on Ukraine.

“When we talk about war and when I watch all of the people talking about Ukraine and how’s Ukraine doing blah blah blah, Russia is sitting back,” Trump said. “First of all, Ukraine is being obliterated, but let’s not even talk nuclear. Let’s say it wasn’t, let’s say they were doing better than anticipated. If he decided to use his second form of destruction, which is nuclear, that’s the end of that.” (Read more from “‘The N-Word’: Trump Says Nuclear War Is the World’s ‘Single Greatest’ Threat” HERE)

Judge Hands Desperate Alvin Bragg a Massive Loss in His Effort to Avoid House Investigation

. . .Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was desperately trying to stave off the House investigation into the question of the political nature of his prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

Bragg filed a suit against the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), arguing the investigation was a “transparent campaign to intimidate and attack” his case against former President Donald Trump. He sought to get a temporary restraining order blocking the subpoena that the Committee issued to Mark Pomerantz, a former assistant district attorney in Bragg’s office who oversaw the investigation into Trump before he left the DA’s office. Bragg also tried to block the Committee from getting “confidential documents and testimony from the district attorney himself as well as his current and former employees and officials.”

Bragg is trying to do all he can not to comply, claiming he was taking action “in response to an unprecedently [sic] brazen and unconstitutional attack by members of Congress on an ongoing New York State criminal prosecution and investigation of former President Donald J. Trump.”

But the judge in the matter did not agree. U.S. District Court Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil, a Trump appointee, denied the request from Alvin Bragg for a temporary restraining order against Rep. Jordan. In the denial, the judge noted that Bragg didn’t even provide documents he should have to support his cause, including that “subpoena purportedly served on Mr. Pomerantz” as well as the “Declaration of Theodore J. Boutrous, Jr.,” which is mentioned in Bragg’s moving papers. Sounds like Bragg didn’t help himself, and the judge is chiding him for failure to have everything he should have had for such a motion.
