‘Absurd and Discredited Story’: Trump Bashes Jan. 6 Panel

Former President Donald Trump released video bashing the Jan. 6 “witch hunt,” in one of his first public addresses of the Jan. 6 Committee since the release of its final report.

In the video, Trump derided the committee itself, Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney, President Joe Biden, and the Democratic Party, among others. Trump claimed that the committee was intended to distract from other issues, and that it was deceptively editing information while ignoring evidence favorable to him.

“For two years as inflation skyrocketed, crime soared, the border was erased, Afghanistan was a disaster, and Joe Biden destroyed our country, the American people have been besieged with lies from the partisan witch hunt, known as the unselect committee on January 6,” he began. “The committee cut the part of my speech out where I encouraged protesters to make their voices heard, peacefully and patriotically, but no one ever says that.”

He quickly shifted to bashing Cheney, who has become perhaps the most vocal Trump critic in the Republican Party. He claimed that she, “lost her congressional race in Wyoming by the largest margin ever for a sitting congressperson, that’s 40%.” (Read more from “‘Absurd and Discredited Story’: Trump Bashes Jan. 6 Panel” HERE)

Billionaire Mark Cuban Says Trump Was ‘Political Chemotherapy’ and ‘Changed the System’

Billionaire Mark Cuban told comedian Bill Maher that former President Donald Trump reset the American political system.

The duo were talking politics on Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, with Cuban saying that, while he has no political aspirations, if he did run, he’d run as a Republican.

“I can f**k with them more, and I think they’re more pragmatic,” Cuban said. “But I think Democrats are smarter.”

Maher then retorted that Democrats are too committed to identity politics and that Cuban, being white, would have little chance of winning a Democratic primary. Cuban then expressed support for ranked choice voting because it “eliminates extremism,” while Maher said the political climate is “rough because this is a team era when people just want to hear what they believe.”

“So, I think Trump has been political chemotherapy. Meaning, he was such a mess that he changed the system,” Cuban said. (Read more from “Billionaire Mark Cuban Says Trump Was ‘Political Chemotherapy’ and ‘Changed the System’” HERE)

Trump Shrugs off Jan. 6 Panel’s Criminal Referral: ‘What Doesn’t Kill Me Makes Me Stronger’

By The Blaze. Former President Donald Trump brushed off the House Jan. 6 committee’s referral to the Department of Justice that he face criminal charges for his actions leading up to the 2021 Capitol riot.

“These folks don’t get it that when they come after me, people who love freedom rally around me. It strengthens me. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger,” Trump wrote in a statement posted on his Truth Social account.

“Americans know that I pushed for 20,000 troops to prevent violence on Jan 6, and that I went on television and told everyone to go home….” the 76-year-old former commander-in-chief added.

Trump compared the bipartisan panel’s criminal referral Monday to the article of impeachment brought against him by Congress — twice — during his presidency.

“The people understand that the Democratic Bureau of Investigation, the DBI, are out to keep me from running for president because they know I’ll win and that this whole business of prosecuting me is just like impeachment was — a partisan attempt to sideline me and the Republican Party,” Trump wrote. Jan. 6 Committee Tears Into Ivanka for Not Being ‘Forthcoming,’ Memory Woes

By Washington Examiner. The Jan. 6 committee chastised former first daughter Ivanka Trump for not being fully straightforward with the panel in an executive summary released on Monday.

Ivanka reportedly sat for deposition before the committee for about eight hours, but during that time she often exhibited a “lack of full recollection of certain issues” and was not always “forthcoming” as some of the other witnesses had been about her father’s actions surrounding the Capitol riot, according to the executive summary.

“Ivanka Trump was not as forthcoming as Cipollone and others about President Trump’s conduct,” the executive summary said, “Ivanka Trump’s Chief of Staff Julie Radford had a more specific recollection of Ivanka Trump’s actions and statements.” (Read more from “Jan. 6 Committee Tears Into Ivanka for Not Being ‘Forthcoming,’ Memory Woes” HERE)

Scenes From a Celebration of the Same-sex Marriage Law — At Mar-a-Lago

Hundreds of guests in tuxedos of all styles — sequined, quilted, velvet — and colorful gowns sipped on Trump-branded champagne and martinis. Between courses of steak and bite-sized Key lime pie, they danced to “YMCA” and “Macho Man,” the disco anthems at Trump rallies.

Thursday night’s Log Cabin Republicans’ “Spirit of Lincoln” gala in the main ballroom of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago beachfront club was a joyous celebration of gay rights and — in a case of ironic timing — the historic same-sex marriage law signed by President Joe Biden days earlier. . .

But the main attraction, obviously, was Trump. He received a standing ovation after delivering an enthusiastic affirmation of gay rights not often heard in the GOP.

“We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” the former president and 2024 candidate said. “With the help of many of the people here tonight in recent years, our movement has taken incredible strides, the strides you’ve made here is incredible.”

Throughout the evening, speakers praised Trump for his embrace of the gay community. They credited him for his initiatives to combat the criminalization of homosexuality, his work pushing for public heath initiatives to combat the HIV epidemic, and for appointing the first openly gay Cabinet member, Grenell, as director of national intelligence. Trump Likens US to ‘Person Dying of Cancer’ in Fiery Tirade Against FBI

Former President Donald Trump likened the current outlook of the United States to a “person dying of cancer” in a scathing Truth Social post about the FBI.

Talking about Friday’s fresh revelations from the Twitter Files that the social media giant had “constant and pervasive” communications with the bureau, Trump declared that such “thugs and Tyrants must be dealt with,” or else, the country could meet its demise.

“Our Country is SICK inside, very much like a person dying of Cancer. The Crooked FBI, the so-called Department of ‘Justice,’ and ‘Intelligence,’ all parts of the Democrat Party and System, is the Cancer. These Weaponized Thugs and Tyrants must be dealt with, or our once great and beautiful Country will die!!!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

On Friday, journalist Matt Taibbi revealed that the FBI often flagged content for Twitter to review for content moderation purposes and underscored that there had been over 150 emails between the bureau and former Twitter trust and safety chief Yoel Roth between January 2020 to November 2022. At one point, Twitter executives had near weekly meetings with law enforcement officials, the journalist noted. Trump Backs McCarthy for House Speaker

Former President Donald Trump told the conservatives currently withholding support from House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy in McCarthy’s speakership bid to stand down in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News here on Friday.

“I like him,” Trump said of McCarthy, before teeing off on those working against him such as Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Bob Good (R-VA), and Ralph Norman (R-SC). While Trump did not name those trying to stop McCarthy from taking the Speaker’s gavel on January 3, he in no uncertain terms said he disagrees with their efforts—and warned that there could be serious consequences if McCarthy does not get the gavel and they could make Washington worse for conservatives.

Trump’s interview came Friday morning here at his Doral golf resort in Miami and covered a broad range of topics including the Speakership race and much more.

Trump warned that when conservatives took out now-former House Speaker John Boehner in 2015, they ended with now-former Speaker Paul Ryan—who he said was much worse—in the process. (Read more from “Trump Backs McCarthy for House Speaker” HERE)

House Democrats Move to Bar Trump From Office

Dozens of House Democrats lined up behind legislation that would bar former President Donald Trump from holding office again.

The bill, introduced Thursday by Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI), aims to use Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment to get the job done, accusing Trump of orchestrating an insurrection with the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, which briefly disrupted the certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.

“Donald Trump very clearly engaged in an insurrection on January 6, 2021 with the intention of overturning the lawful and fair results of the 2020 election. You don’t get to lead a government you tried to destroy,” Cicilline said in a statement touting how the legislation is packed with testimony and evidence to make the case against the 45th president.

Forty Democrats have signed on as co-sponsors. The legislation was introduced weeks after Trump announced his 2024 presidential election campaign, setting up would could be a rematch against Biden, who has said he intends to seek reelection. Poll: Trump Sees Double-digit Lead in Republican Primary

Former President Donald Trump is seeing a double-digit lead in a hypothetical Republican primary race, an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist Poll released this week found.

When asked who they believe the presidential nominee should be, provided with Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, or “someone else,” 45 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents chose Trump.

DeSantis, whom many speculate will toss his hat in the ring in 2024, followed 12 points behind, garnering 33 percent support.

Pence did not even come close, as only eight percent chose him. Another 11 percent chose “someone else,” and three percent remain unsure.

Donald Trump Unveils Free Speech Policy Plan to ‘Shatter Left-wing Censorship Regime’

Former President Donald J. Trump unveiled a free-speech policy platform on Thursday to “shatter the left-wing censorship regime and reclaim the right to free speech for all Americans.”

The 45th president shared a video to his Truth Social account where he details a number of policy steps he would enact, if elected president, to prohibit censorship by government agencies and big tech companies.

These plans include revising Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, establishing a cooling-off period requiring former employees of the FBI, CIA, and other government agencies to wait seven years before joining tech companies that have “vast quantities of U.S. user data,” and establishing a “digital bill of rights,” among several other actions.
