Former President Donald Trump responded to rumors that he would consider selecting his daughter Ivanka as a potential running mate, confirming he would not do so.

In a TV interview with Indian news outlet NDTV earlier this week, the former president expressed surprise at rumors that he was considering running alongside his daughter should he launch a second reelection bid in 2024.

“Ivanka? My daughter? Never thought of that one,” he said. “Well, that’s an interesting idea.”

Trump Team, DOJ to Make Fresh Mar-a-Lago Filing; Trump, DOJ Submit Candidates for Special Master

By Breitbart. The Justice Department and Donald Trump’s legal team are to stake out positions Friday on the precise role to be played by an independent arbiter who will review documents seized during an FBI search of the former president’s Florida home.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon had given both sides until Friday to submit potential candidates for the role of a “special master,” as well as proposals for the scope of the person’s duties and the schedule for his or her work.

The back-and-forth over the special master is playing out amid an FBI investigation into the retention of several hundred classified documents recovered from Mar-a-Lago within the past year. Though the legal wrangling is unlikely to have long-term effects on the investigation, it will almost certainly delay the criminal probe and has already caused the intelligence community to temporarily pause a national risk assessment it was doing. Trump, DOJ Submit Candidates for Special Master in Mar-a-Lago Documents Probe

By The Hill. Former President Trump and the Justice Department (DOJ) on Friday night submitted their candidates to serve as special master in the department’s investigation into documents recovered during a search of Mar-a-Lago.

The former president’s legal team proposed Raymond J. Dearie, a former district court judge in New York, and Paul Huck Jr., who previously served as general counsel to the governor of Florida and deputy attorney general for the state, to fill the position, according to court documents. The DOJ suggested Barbara S. Jones, a former district court judge in New York, and Thomas B. Griffith, a former appeals court judge in Washington, D.C.

According to the filing, the DOJ and Trump’s lawyers disagreed on how the special master should function in the case.

The former president’s lawyers want the special master to review all the materials taken in the Mar-a-Lago search, including those with classified markings, and evaluate potential executive privilege claims. Reporter Tries to Blame Trump for Las Vegas Democrat Allegedly Stabbing Journalist to Death (VIDEO)

A reporter tried to compel a Las Vegas sheriff to condemn former President Donald Trump after police arrested a local Democrat politician for the murder of an investigative journalist.

On Thursday, the sheriff of the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, Joe Lombardo, took to the podium to address questions from the media regarding a recent high-profile arrest. The day before, Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles was arrested for the gruesome murder of Jeff German, a reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a story that had naturally drawn the attention of media throughout the country.

But one reporter, whose name has not been given, instead queried Lombardo about Trump, likely attempting to reorient the conversation from a discussion about the violent actions of one person into a larger statement about the former president.

“Now is probably not the appropriate time to talk politics,” the unnamed reporter began. To which Lombardo replied, “So why are we talking politics then?”

The reporter disregarded Lombardo’s question and proceeded to make the case political, asking, “Do you condemn former President Trump’s normalization of violence against journalists?”

Steve Bannon Tells Charlie Kirk 35 Trump Allies Got Raided Day of Indictment (VIDEO)

Steve Bannon, former adviser to ex-President Donald Trump, says the same day he was arraigned on criminal fraud charges, the FBI carried out raids on the homes of nearly three dozen allies of the former president.

Speaking to conservative talk show host Charlie Kirk Friday, Bannon made the explosive allegation, saying law enforcement is part of a broader conspiracy to hobble opponents of President Joe Biden. Bannon’s remarks come a day after he pleaded not guilty in a New York court to fraud charges and amid efforts by conservative figures to cast the FBI as being politically weaponized.

Bannon told Kirk that the FBI “rolled in on” 35 “senior members of MAGA, Republican supporters of Donald Trump.” Saying the alleged searches were unnecessary because their targets have lawyers, he called the FBI the “jackbooted Gestapo,” a reference to the secret police of Nazi Germany.

“This is this globalist apparatus,” Bannon said. “This is the American arm of that: the Biden regime.”

Clinton-Appointed Judge Dismisses Trump’s Suit Against Hillary, Allies Over Russia Collusion Claims

A federal judge dismissed former President Trump’s lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, her allies, Democratic lawyers and the left-leaning law firm of Perkins Coie on Thursday, saying Mr. Trump’s legal team did not adequately file the complaint or use current case law, which hadn’t been overruled.

Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks, a Clinton appointee, said Mr. Trump’s filing was too lengthy, detailing events that “are implausible because they lack any specific allegations which might provide factual support for the conclusions reached.”

Mr. Trump had sued the Democratic officials claiming they violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, as they allegedly worked together to create a false narrative that Mr. Trump colluded with a “hostile foreign sovereignty.”

The judge, though, didn’t buy into his legal arguments.

“What the Amended Complaint lacks in substance and legal support it seeks to substitute with length, hyperbole, and the settling of scores and grievances,” wrote Judge Middlebrooks in his 65-page order. Trump’s Truth Social Merger Deal on Life-Support as Big-Cash Partner Delays Vote

Truth Social’s hopes for a much-needed cash-infusion suffered a setback Thursday after the founders of a blank-check company were again forced to delay a vote on extending a merger agreement with Donald Trump’s site.

The founders of Digital World, a special purpose acquisitions company, instead ponied up an additional $3 million to prevent the company from dissolving for three months. The new vote is slated for Oct. 10.

The SPAC needs 65% of shareholders to agree to extend the deal by a year with the former president’s right-leaning social media site. The two agreed to merge last October, a month after Digital World launched its IPO.

However, the deal has been in limbo after the Securities and Exchange Commission launched a probe late last year into whether Digital World’s founders possibly had advance knowledge of what it was buying before listing its shares — a violation of securities laws.

Digital World CEO Patrick Orlando raised the $3 million from outside investors in exchange for options in the company that would come good if the merger with Truth Social goes through, sources said. Trump’s Fundraising Arm Under Federal Investigation: Report

A federal grand jury investigating events leading up to Jan. 6 is probing former President Donald Trump’s Save America PAC, according to multiple reports.

The grand jury issued subpoenas intended to probe the PAC’s formation history, fundraising, money reception and spending record, ABC News reported. Around six Trump White House and 2020 campaign aides including Beau Harrison and William S. Russell, who have both worked for the former president since he left office, were subpoenaed this week, familiar sources told The New York Times.

Save American PAC was started not long after the 2020 presidential election. Records indicated the PAC’s cash funds stood at slightly less than $100 million at July’s end, ABC News said.

At least one subpoena was marked by the name of fraud-focused D.C. federal prosecutor’s name, according to NYT. Moreover, one other subpoena purportedly looked for correspondences with Pennsylvania lawyer Bruce Marks, who was involved in work to challenge election results. Michael Cohen: Trump Is Going to Be Indicted ‘Relatively Soon’

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that former President Donald Trump will be indicted for crimes related to the mishandling of classified documents soon.

Cohen said, “I do think there’s going to be an indictment and relatively soon. I believe there will also be congressional hearings with Donald in the hot seat where, you know, either he’ll come in willingly, which I don’t think he will or via subpoena. I mean, the real questions that they have to be asking right now is, you know, where are the documents that were in the empty top secret files that were found at Mar-a-Lago? Foreign Nuclear Secrets Among Docs Found in Trump Raid: Report

In a stunning leak from the Department of Justice, a report on Tuesday disclosed information about top secret documents that were reportedly among the files seized by FBI agents at Donald Trump’s Florida resort last month.

Citing sources “familiar with the search,” The Washington Post said the documents detailed a foreign government’s military defenses and nuclear capabilities and can only be viewed by a select group of top officials.

The disclosure was published Tuesday, a day after the former president’s legal team won a request for a special master to review the documents over his lawyers’ concerns the feds would “impugn, leak, and publicize select aspects of their investigation.”

The foreign government described in the highly sensitive documents was not revealed by the sources but the news reportedly heightened concerns about the more than 100 classified documents found at the property and hundreds of others voluntarily recovered from Mar-a-Lago — some of which detail top-secret US operations that even senior national security officers were not aware of, according to the report.

Some special-access programs detailed in the documents were only authorized to be viewed by the president, some Cabinet members, and a couple dozen other government employees on a need-to-know basis, the article said. Judge Halts Prosecutors From Using Trump Mar-a-Lago Materials for Criminal Investigation

A judge placed a roadblock on federal prosecutors conducting a criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of documents until a special master is appointed and has completed his or her work.

“The Court does not find that a temporary special master review under the present circumstances would cause undue delay” to the investigation, said U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon of the Southern District of Florida, granting Trump’s motion for a third-party review to look for privileged materials. She said the government is “temporarily enjoined from further review and use of any materials seized from” Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last month “for criminal investigative purposes” until the special master’s review process is complete.

Trump’s legal team argued its client’s constitutional rights were violated and that there may have been privileged documents among those taken by federal officials, and the former president is pursuing the appointment of a special master, often an attorney, to review independently the evidence that the FBI seized from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last month. The Justice Department opposes a third-party review of the materials seized from Mar-a-Lago, warning of the harm such a process could have to national security and the criminal investigation.
