Ex-Twitter CEO: Banning Trump Was a Bad Idea

Oh, so now it was a bad idea to ban Donald Trump on Twitter. That’s what former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is now saying, adding that permanent bans are just self-defeating. Obviously, you ban accounts that are posting things that are illegal, like child porn, but Dorsey added that these moves don’t work. He chalked up the move to ban Trump during the waning months of his tenure as a business decision that shouldn’t have been (via NY Post):

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has admitted that he should never have allowed then-President Donald Trump to be banned from his social media giant.

The tech titan conceded Tuesday it was the wrong move after Elon Musk, Twitter’s presumptive new owner, said he would reinstate Trump’s account and that Dorsey agreed that there shouldn’t be permanent bans.

“I do agree,” tweeted Dorsey, who was still at the helm when Trump was banned in January 2020 at the end of his presidency.

He said that there “are exceptions,” listing sexual exploitation of children, illegal behavior or network manipulation.

Elon Musk Pledges to Reverse Trump Ban After Twitter Takeover

Elon Musk has said he will reverse Twitter’s permanent ban of former president Donald Trump once he takes over the platform. Musk also said he wants the punishment of permanent suspensions to be reserved strictly for “spam” and “scam” accounts.

In an interview with the Financial Times, the SpaceX and Tesla CEO said that if his takeover of Twitter is successful, Trump will be allowed back on the platform.

“It was not correct to ban Donald Trump,” Musk said. “I think that was a mistake, because it alienated a large part of the country

“I would reverse the Twitter ban. Obviously, I don’t own Twitter yet, so this is not a thing that will definitely happen.”

“He’s now going to be on Truth Social, as will a large part of the right in the United States. So, I think this could end up being, frankly, worse than having a single forum where everyone can debate.” (Read more from “Elon Musk Pledges to Reverse Trump Ban After Twitter Takeover” HERE)

New DOJ Notes Reveal FBI Panic After Trump Tweeted He Knew He Was Being Spied On

Newly released notes taken by high-level Department of Justice (DOJ) officials during a March 6, 2017, meeting with FBI leadership expose some of the lengths the FBI went to, to cover up its spying on the 2016 campaign of President Donald Trump.

The notes were released on May 8 by lawyers representing former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann as part of an effort to clear him on charges of having lied to the FBI. The notes, in reality, appear to do little to exonerate Sussmann but do provide quite a bit of information on the FBI. . .

But things took a sudden and dramatic turn on March 4, 2017, when Trump wrote on Twitter that he knew that Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower, a very public claim of spying that set off alarm bells with both FBI and DOJ leadership. Trump’s tweet so alarmed these DOJ and FBI officials that the topic dominated a meeting two days later that included FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and the acting U.S. attorney general, Dana Boente. . .

The notes reveal that the FBI repeatedly referred to Steele’s dossier as “Crown reporting,” suggesting the dossier represented some sort of official UK government intelligence when it was mostly information made up by Steele and Danchenko–a fact the FBI already knew at the time.

The new notes also revealed that FBI agent Peter Strzok lied to his DOJ superiors about what triggered Alexander Downer, the Australian ambassador in London, to come forward to the FBI with information regarding his meeting with Papadopolous. It has always been the FBI’s official story that it was Downer who initiated the official Trump–Russia investigation, but that story is now undermined in the new notes, in which Strzok claims that it was Trump’s joke about Russia finding Clinton’s emails that had triggered Downer. ‘Misinformation’: YouTube Censors Donald Trump Speech

Once again, YouTube is trying to affect Americans’ access to the news.

Former President Donald Trump spoke at The Heritage Foundation’s Annual Leadership Conference in Florida on April 21. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation.)

Trump discussed “rising inflation, disruptions in the supply chain, a southern border overrun by ‘millions’ of illegal immigrants, America’s lower standing in the world, and emboldened enemies,” reported The Daily Signal’s Fred Lucas.

But if you want access to what Trump actually said, forget finding it on YouTube.

The tech giant, which has previously censored videos from both The Heritage Foundation and The Daily Signal, removed the speech from its platform Monday. A YouTube representative emailed The Heritage Foundation that the video was taken down “because it violated our policies pertaining to elections misinformation.”

Trump Responds to Reports He Wanted to Shoot Missiles at Drug Cartel Factories

During a recent interview with “60 Minutes,” former Defense Secretary Mark Esper claimed President Donald Trump proposed the United States take out drug cartel operations in Mexico with missiles.

Over the weekend, President Trump responded to the allegation with “no comment” and addressed a number of other statements Esper made.

Mexican cartels operate industrial-sized methamphetamine and fentanyl labs south of the border and the product is then trafficked into the United States.

“Soldiers and police in Mexico seized an industrial-scale meth and fentanyl lab that was so big it startled investigators, federal prosecutors announced Sunday,” the Associated Press reported in October. “The lab had chemical preparation vats about two stories tall that could process 11,000 pounds (5,000 kilograms) of raw material at a time, said Felipe de Jesus Gallo of the federal Attorney General’s Office.” (Read more from “Trump Responds to Reports He Wanted to Shoot Missiles at Drug Cartel Factories” HERE)

Incoming WH Press Secretary Once Cast Doubt on Election

Incoming White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre previously pushed the now-debunked reports that former President Donald Trump colluded with Russia in 2016.

Jean-Pierre, currently the White House deputy press secretary, reiterated former Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s claims that the Trump campaign “was in on” Russia’s attempted interference in the 2016 presidential election.

“Flynn, Manafort and The Donald himself (inviting Russia to partake in espionage on our election) #PutinLoveAffair,” she said.

When Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, Jean-Pierre tagged Trump calling it his collusion. In January 2018, she said “Collusion=Donald Trump.” (Read more from “Incoming WH Press Secretary Once Cast Doubt on Election” HERE)

Radical Claim: Trump Proposed Missile Attack to Wipe Out Mexican Drug Cartels

Former President Donald Trump allegedly said he wanted to launch missiles into Mexico to wipe out drug cartels, former defense secretary Mark Esper claims in his upcoming memoir, according to the New York Times (NYT).

Esper reportedly recounts in “A Sacred Oath,” set to be released Tuesday, how Trump allegedly asked at least twice if the military could “shoot missiles into Mexico to destroy the drug labs” in the summer of 2020. Esper reportedly said Trump cited the constant flow of narcotics across the border as his reasoning.

“They don’t have control of their own country,” Trump allegedly said, according to Esper. Esper claims he objected to the suggestion, to which Trump allegedly said “we could just shoot some Patriot missiles and take out the labs, quietly,” according to the NYT. Trump allegedly said the U.S. could then deny they had conducted the strike, the NYT reported citing Esper. Report: FBI Pursued ‘Bulls*** Rumor’ to Spy on Trump Aide

The FBI decision to spy on a former Trump campaign adviser hinged on an unsubstantiated rumor from a Clinton campaign-paid dossier that the Washington Post’s Moscow sources had quickly shot down as “bulls***” and “impossible,” according to emails disclosed last week to a D.C. court hearing the criminal case of a Clinton lawyer accused of lying to the FBI.

Though the FBI presumably had access to better sources than the newspaper, agents did little to verify the rumor that Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page had secretly met with sanctioned Kremlin officials in Moscow. Instead, the bureau pounced on the dossier report the day it received it, immediately plugging the rumor into an application under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to wiretap Page as a suspected Russian agent.

The allegation, peddled to both the press and FBI in the summer of 2016 by Fusion GPS, an opposition research firm hired by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to dig up dirt on Trump during the presidential race, proved to be the linchpin in winning approval for the 2016 warrant, which was renewed three times in 2017 – even though the FBI learned there were serious holes in the story and had failed to independently corroborate it.

The revelations of early media skepticism about the Trump-Russia narrative before journalists embraced it are included in a 62-page batch of emails between Fusion and prominent Beltway reporters released by Special Counsel John Durham, who is scouring the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign for evidence of abuse and criminal wrongdoing.

The documents suggest that some journalists, as keen as they were to report dirt on Trump, were nevertheless more cautious than FBI investigators about embracing hearsay information served up by Clinton agents. (The FBI declined comment.) The new material also offers a look at the lengths to which those working on Clinton’s behalf went in order to seed the government with unverified rumors about Trump and Russia that amounted to a disinformation campaign. Among those targeted were powerful Democratic members of Congress, including House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, who proved to be a willing collaborator. Trump Asks Judge to ‘Punish’ Lawyers Who Released Fruit Fears Testimony

Donald Trump has asked a judge to punish the lawyers who released parts of a deposition that revealed his fears about being hit with “dangerous” fruit by protesters.

The ex-president’s testimony — given in a lawsuit that alleges his security guards assaulted demonstrators outside Trump Tower in 2015 — was made public last week by the attorneys for the plaintiffs in the case.

Trump counsel Alina Habba accused the lawyers of acting in “bad faith conduct” as she filed a motion seeking for them to be sanctioned over the move.

Releasing the 60 pages of deposition transcript was “a blatant attempt to garner unwarranted media attention and to irreparably taint the potential jury pool,” she charged.

“In short, plaintiffs’ counsel has improperly sought to weaponize the media against the defendants in this matter,” states the motion, filed in Bronx Supreme Court late Friday. (Read more from “Trump Asks Judge to ‘Punish’ Lawyers Who Released Fruit Fears Testimony” HERE)

Why the Hillary Clinton Campaign Can’t Hide 38 Documents From the Special Counsel

Documents made public last week by the Federal Election Commission reveal that Hillary Clinton campaign payments to Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Donald Trump were not treated as legal expenses. These newly released documents eviscerate the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign’s attempts to hide behind attorney-client privilege in the special counsel’s criminal case against former Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann.

Sussmann, who awaits trial in a D.C. federal court later this month on the charge that he made a false statement to former FBI General Counsel James Baker, is currently fighting to keep prosecutors from seeing 38 documents withheld from the grand jury based on claims of attorney-client privilege. In early April, Special Counsel John Durham’s team filed a motion to compel those secreting the documents to provide them to the court to allow the judge to assess, in camera, whether they were properly withheld. In response, Sussmann argued the special counsel had waited too long to force the issue and that his criminal case was the wrong forum to litigate the question.

The day after the former Clinton campaign attorney filed his response opposing in camera review of the material, his “fellow Spygate hoaxers sought to join in Sussmann’s efforts to keep the documents concealed” by seeking to intervene in the case. Last week, the trial court granted the flurry of motions to intervene, authorizing tech executive Rodney Joffe, Fusion GPS, Perkins Coie, the DNC, and the Clinton campaign to file briefs opposing disclosure of the documents.

On Wednesday the court will hear oral arguments on the special counsel’s motion and decide whether the 38 documents must be turned over, initially to the court and then eventually to prosecutors. While Durham’s team previously had a strong case that the documents were not protected by attorney-client privilege, a document dump last week by the FEC further strengthens the prosecutor’s position.
