Trump 2024 Is Almost Certainly Happening, His Associates Say, And The 2020 Election Will Be Front And Center

With former President Donald Trump publicly flirting with a 2024 presidential run, those close to him believe he’ll end up taking the plunge – and the 2020 election will almost certainly be thrust back into the spotlight.

Trump has been laying the groundwork for a 2024 campaign, hosting rallies across the country reminiscent of his 2016 campaign and announcing a slew of endorsements heading into the midterms. Still, in true Trump style, he’s yet to give a definitive answer on whether he’ll actually run.

For people close to the former president or familiar with his team’s thinking, it seems obvious: Trump is heavily leaning towards running again. The following report is based on interviews with a half-dozen Trump associates – two former Trump administration officials, three people familiar with the president’s thinking and one person familiar with the Trump team’s thinking – speaking on condition of anonymity in order to discuss privileged conversations.

Trump’s health and how the midterms elections play out are two key factors in a possible 2024 run. Trump’s already given a public nod to the health aspect, telling The Washington Post in April that “you always have to talk about health.”

As for the midterms, Trumpworld believes the overall results – and not necessarily how individual Trump-backed candidates do in the primaries – will play a massive role in whether he’ll run again. Trump-Endorsed Candidate Wins Georgia Senate Primary

Less than an hour after the polls closed in Georgia on Tuesday night, former NFL player Herschel Walker, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, was declared the winner in the Republican primary by Decision Desk Headquarters. He will go on to face Sen. Raphael Warnock, one of Georgia’s two Democratic senators, in the November general election. . .

As of 8:13pm, Walker had 68.74 percent of the vote. The next closest contender, Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Gary Black, had 14.37 percent of the vote.

Walker recently gained attention in the news for his pro-life position. As Madeline covered last week, Walker said “there’s no exception in my mind” when it comes to abortion. He was also endorsed by the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) on April 19.

Hidden Identity: FBI Wrongly Told Its Agents Trump-Russia Collusion Claims Had Come From DOJ, Bombshell Document Reveals

FBI agents probing since-debunked claims of a secret back channel between Donald Trump and a Russian bank believed that the allegations had originated with the Department of Justice — when in fact they came from Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann, who had shopped them to the bureau’s then-general counsel days earlier.

In the latest revelation to emerge from Sussmann’s trial in DC federal court on a count of lying to the FBI, special counsel John Durham’s prosecutors revealed that investigators had received an electronic communication citing a referral from the DOJ “on or about” Sept. 19, 2016, the same day Sussmann met with James Baker, then the FBI’s top lawyer.

The document, a record of the investigation being opened by agents Curtis Heide and Allison Sands and dated Sept. 23, 2016, did not mention Sussmann as the source of the allegations.

“In that referral, the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE provided the FBI with a white paper that was produced by an anonymous third party,” the communication said, before adding: “According to the white paper, a U.S.-based server that is owned by the TRUMP ORGANIZATION has been communicating with the Russian-based ALFA BANK organization in Moscow, Russia.”

The document was circulated to several top FBI officials — including Peter Strzok, who oversaw the probe of Clinton’s email server as well as the Trump-Russia investigation, and was famously fired from the bureau in 2018 after the emergence of text messages he sent to his colleague and mistress Lisa Page in which he vowed to help “stop” Trump from winning the White House. “Greatest Political Scandals in History”: Trump Rails Against Reputation Smear After Clinton Lawyer’s Damning Testimony; Hillary Clinton Signed Off on Sharing Debunked Alfa-Bank Claims With the Media

By New York Post. Donald Trump said revelations from Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager that she herself agreed to share unproven information that linked him to a Russian bank is “one of the greatest political scandals in history.”

The former president made the comments after Robby Mook testified in defense of former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, who is charged with lying to the FBI and being tried as part of a three-year investigation into ties between Trump and Russia.

Mook testified Friday that shortly before the 2016 election Clinton “agreed” to share with a reporter since-discredited allegations of a secret back channel between a Trump Organization server and Russia’s Alfa Bank.

“This is one of the greatest political scandals in history,” Trump told Fox News Saturday morning. “For three years, I had to fight her off, and fight those crooked people off, and you’ll never get your reputation fully back.”

“Where do I get my reputation back?” Trump reportedly asked. (Read more from ““Greatest Political Scandals in History”: Trump Rails Against Reputation Smear After Clinton Lawyer’s Damning Testimony” HERE)

Hillary Clinton Signed Off on Sharing Debunked Alfa-Bank Claims With the Media

By Washington Examiner. Hillary Clinton personally signed off on sharing since-debunked Trump-Russia allegations related to Alfa-Bank with the media during the 2016 election, according to her campaign manager.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook testified Friday he was “briefed about the Alfa-Bank issue first” by Clinton campaign general counsel Marc Elias in the summer of 2016. He said the campaign leadership quickly had a meeting about whether to share the information with the media, which they decided to do. Also present in the meeting were campaign chairman John Podesta, communications director Jennifer Palmieri, and policy adviser Jake Sullivan (who is now President Joe Biden’s national security adviser), according to Mook.

He said that “we discussed it and then made that decision” and “we did” decide to share the claims with a reporter. When asked by a prosecutor on special counsel John Durham’s team about the highest level of approval for pushing the Alfa-Bank claims to the press, Mook replied that “John and I were involved,” but “I discussed it with Hillary as well” after the campaign team had discussed it. Mook said that he framed it to Clinton as: “Hey, you know, we have this, and we want to share it with a reporter.” Mook added, “She agreed to that.”

When pressed by Durham prosecutor Andrew DeFilippis on what else Clinton said, Mook replied that “all I remember is that she agreed with the decision” to share the Alfa-Bank claims with the media. Mook said that “she thought we made the right decision.”

Mook said he couldn’t recall “the exact sequence of events” on whether Clinton was giving final approval or if she was approving of something the campaign had already done. (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Signed Off on Sharing Debunked Alfa-Bank Claims With the Media” HERE)

Trump-Endorsed Candidate Wins Senate Primary

Republican North Carolina Rep. Ted Budd won the GOP’s Senate primary Tuesday following former President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

Budd won by a landslide with 58% of the vote, earning a total of 297,990 votes. McCrory came in second with 25.1%, Walker at 9.0%. Two other Republican candidates, Marjorie Eastman and David Flaherty, came in last with 3% and 1%. The Republican candidate will compete against Democratic candidate Cheri Beasley, who won the Democratic primary with 81% of the vote.

Budd led the senatorial GOP primary race in North Carolina by over 20 percentage points, holding 43% of support while opponent and former Gov. Pat McCrory had 16% of support, according to recent Emerson College/The Hill polling. Former Rep. Mark Walker stood at about 12%, being the only other candidate in the 14-person Republican field to hold double-digit support, The Hill reported May 12.

The candidates in the race are seeking to replace three-term Republican Sen. Richard Burr ahead of his upcoming retirement.

Budd, a three-term lawmaker representing the 13th congressional district, first announced his candidacy in a late April 2021 video, which featured multiple clips of him next to Trump. He received an endorsement from Trump in June 2021 at the state Republican convention in Greenville after the former president’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, reportedly decided against entering the race. ‘Insurrectionist’ Trump Approved National Guard Troops for D.C. on Jan 6. Dems Said No.

. . .[I]f Donald J. Trump (DJT) wanted his supporters to storm Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, and disrupt that day’s congressional certification of Electoral College votes, would he — two days earlier — have approved 10,000 to 20,000 Washington, D.C. National Guard (DCNG) soldiers to stymie his own seditious plans?

This scenario makes less-than-zero sense, which explains why Democrats are so desperate to conceal the highly exculpatory facts about that red-letter date. . .

On December 31, 2020, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser requested DCNG troops to support the local Metro Police Department (MPD), in advance of “First Amendment events” planned for January 6, 2021.

In response, “DJT authorized the use of the military to support local and federal law enforcement on 6 Jan.,” then-Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller told me. “He directed that I provide whatever support was requested. Absolutely true statement.” . . .

“The President scoffed and said, ‘You’ll need ten to twenty thousand.’ I did not respond,” Miller continued. “He then reiterated that I should provide any military support requested. That was the way he worked and gave orders. He listened, asked questions, commented and then, if necessary, refined his guidance.” (Read more from “Busted: Counselor Who Organized School Drag Show Arrested for Having Sex With 15-Year-Old Student” HERE)

Liberals Can’t Resist Laughing at Trump Tweets (VIDEO)

The Daily Caller’s Noah Pincus tested liberals on how much they miss former President Donald Trump’s presence on Twitter by reading some of his funniest tweets.

The respondents interviewed on the streets of New York City said Trump should not return to Twitter even after Elon Musk said the former president would be allowed back on the platform. Some respondents said they might even delete their account if Trump returns. Pincus then read old tweets by Trump that made even those opposing his return to Twitter laugh.

“Barney Frank looked disgusting—nipples protruding—in his blue shirt before Congress,” one tweet said. “Very very disrespectful.”

“Why would Kim Jung Un insult me by calling me old when I would never call him short and fat?” another tweet said. “Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend. I hope someday that will happen.”

Elon Musk Weighs in on 2024 Presidential Election, Torches Biden

Elon Musk slammed Democrat President Joe Biden on Thursday while also taking a shot at former President Donald Trump.

“Even though I think a less divisive candidate would be better in 2024, I still think Trump should be restored to Twitter,” Musk wrote on Twitter, later adding: “Biden’s mistake is that he thinks he was elected to transform the country, but actually everyone just wanted less drama.”

Musk has repeatedly mocked Democrats in recent years and has taken multiple shots at Biden and the Biden administration’s agenda.

The tweets from Musk come after he said at FT Live’s Future of the Car conference this week that it was “not correct to ban Donald Trump” from Twitter.

“I think that was a mistake because it alienated a large part of the county, and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice,” Musk said, adding that the decision was “morally bad.” (Read more from “Elon Musk Weighs in on 2024 Presidential Election, Torches Biden” HERE)

Judge Withdraws Contempt Order Against Trump

Former President Donald Trump was released from a civil contempt of court order Wednesday, provided he pays a $110,000 fine and meets several conditions by May 20.

If Trump fails to comply with the conditions set by the judge, he vowed to reinstate the contempt of court ruling and apply it retroactively.

“I want the fine paid,” New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron said. “That fine is now $110,000.”

Trump’s legal team has been filing a trove of documents in an attempt to comply with a court order. Engoron wants Trump’s legal team to provide a detailed description of the Trump Organization’s policies on document storage and a review of documents in about five remaining boxes connected to Trump that had not been searched.

On Friday, Trump turned over an updated affidavit claiming that he no longer possessed the mobile devices requested by New York Attorney General Letitia James, CNN reported. An outside company also told the court it reviewed over 1,300 boxes searching for material that may have been subject to the subpoena, the New York Times reported. Biden OKs Transfer of More Trump Records to Jan. 6 Committee

President Joe Biden authorized the National Archives and Records Administration to turn over a trove of records from the Trump administration to the House committee investigating the Capitol riot.

The White House declined to assert executive privilege over an eighth batch of documents the Jan. 6 panel requested in a letter to the National Archives, the Washington Post reported. It is unclear what kinds of documents were included in the recent trove.

“As to the remaining prioritized records, President Biden has considered the former president’s claims, and I have engaged in consultations with the Office of Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice. The President has determined that an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified,” White House counsel Dana Remus wrote in the letter.

The documents are expected to be sent to the Jan. 6 committee by May 26, according to the report. So far, the National Archives has turned over hundreds of documents to the committee. (Read more from “Biden OKs Transfer of More Trump Records to Jan. 6 Committee” HERE)
