Biden To Block Trump’s Plan To Lift COVID-19 European Travel Restrictions

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden plans to quickly extend travel restrictions barring travel by most people who have recently been in much of Europe and Brazil soon after President Donald Trump lifted those requirements effective Jan. 26, a spokeswoman for Biden said.

Trump signed an order Monday lifting the restrictions he imposed early last year in response to the pandemic – a decision first reported Monday by Reuters – after winning support from coronavirus task force members and public health officials.

Soon after Trump’s order was made public, Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki tweeted “on the advice of our medical team, the Administration does not intend to lift these restrictions on 1/26.”

She added that “With the pandemic worsening, and more contagious variants emerging around the world, this is not the time to be lifting restrictions on international travel.”

Until Biden acts, Trump’s order ends restrictions the same day that new COVID-19 test requirements take effect for all international visitors. Trump is due to leave office on Wednesday. (Read more from “Biden To Block Trump’s Plan To Lift COVID-19 European Travel Restrictions” HERE)

Trump Planning Major “Farewell” Event at Military Base on Inauguration Day; Pompeo Stands By Trump In Farewell Tweets

By Newsmax. President Donald Trump now plans to leave Washington to hold a farewell event on the morning of Inauguration Day, after considering leaving a day earlier, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters Friday.

Trump, who announced on Jan. 8 that he would not attend Democrat Joe Biden’s inauguration, is planning to hold his event at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where Air Force One is headquartered, the source said.

The departure ceremony under consideration could be an elaborate event with the feel of a state visit, The Associated Press reported, citing an unnamed person familiar with the planning who spoke on condition of anonymity because Trump’s plans have not been formally announced. The plan under consideration could involve a red carpet, color guard, military band, and 21-gun salute, AP reports. Pompeo Shapes Legacy and Stands by Trump in Farewell Tweetstorm

By KKOH. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo chose the day of his boss’s impeachment to promote a very different kind of recognition for Donald Trump: Award the president the Nobel Peace Prize.

Pompeo’s Wednesday morning tweet said simply: “cc: @NobelPrize” beneath a picture of Trump with Israeli and Arab leaders at the signing of a diplomatic agreement with the Jewish state in September.

It was part of what’s now a two-week campaign by Pompeo on Twitter and in speeches and interviews to recount what he sees as the foreign-policy successes of the Trump administration’s “America First” approach. He’s boasted about making America safer and “leadingfromthefront” without acknowledging the grim reality of a nation shaken by some 4,000 daily deaths from the coronavirus and by the Jan. 6 riot by Trump supporters fired into action by the president. No Longer America: Census Under Biden Will Count Illegals for Divvying up House Seats

President Donald Trump’s effort to exclude people in the U.S. illegally from being counted in the process for divvying up congressional seats was dealt another blow Wednesday when the Census Bureau’s director indefinitely halted an effort to gather data on the citizenship status of every U.S. resident.

Bureau workers laboring to comply with the Trump order were instructed to “’stand down’ and discontinue their data reviews,” Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham said in a memo. . .

Dillingham’s memo came after the Office of Inspector General reported Tuesday that bureau workers were under significant pressure from two Trump political appointees, Nathaniel Cogley and Benjamin Overholt, to figure out who is in the U.S illegally, using federal and state administrative records. Bureau statisticians worried that any citizenship figures they were forced to produce would be incomplete, misinterpreted and tarnish the statistical agency’s reputation, the inspector general said in a memo. WATCH: Trump Declassifies ‘Foot-High’ Stack of Russiagate, Obamagate Documents

By Zero Hedge. President Trump has declassified and authorized the release of “more than a foot-high stack of documents” related to the Obama administration’s surveillance and espionage committed against the 2016 Trump campaign, as part of a larger campaign to discredit and undermine the incoming US president.

According to journalist and Trump insider John Solomon, the documents would be released as soon as Friday, but no later than Monday.

Trump Declassifies Russia-Investigation Documents

The Russia-collusion investigation launched by Democrats against Donald Trump even before he took office consumed the first three years of his presidency.

It’s now known that the claim that Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election was fueled in large part by a bogus “dossier” of Russian propaganda financed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

On Friday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham released declassified documents related to the Obama administration’s “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation, Fox News reported.

Graham called the probe, in which the “Steele dossier” was used to obtain warrants to sspy on the Trump campaign, “one of the most incompetent and corrupt investigations in the history of the FBI and DOJ.” . . .

“I consider the Crossfire Hurricane investigation a massive system failure by senior leadership, but not representative of the dedicated, hardworking patriots who protect our nation every day at Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice,” Graham said in a statement Friday. Report: Trump Considering Pardon for Steve Bannon

President Donald Trump is considering issuing a pardon for his former adviser, Steve Bannon, according to a new report. . .

Politico reported the claim Friday, citing “two sources familiar with the matter” while noting that Bannon “was charged with swindling donors to a private crowdsourcing effort to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.”

Bannon, the former head of Breitbart News Network, and three others linked to the “We Build the Wall” campaign were arrested in August over allegations that they defrauded donors in the initiative and siphoned off funds from the $25 million haul for personal use. Bannon called the indictment “a political hitjob.”

Following Bannon’s arrest, Trump distanced himself from the former White House aide, saying of the “We Build the Wall” effort, “When I read about it, I didn’t like it. I said, ‘This is for government; this isn’t for private people.’ And is sounded to me like showboating.” . . .

According to Bloomberg, Bannon and Trump have been in talks in recent weeks. Citing “people familiar with the matter,” the outlet reported that the president sought Bannon’s “counsel on his campaign to overturn his re-election defeat.” (Read more from “Report: Trump Considering Pardon for Steve Bannon” HERE)

Pentagon Won’t Throw Traditional Farewell Ceremony for Trump

The Pentagon, in a break with recent tradition, will not host an Armed Forces Farewell tribute to President Donald Trump. . .

On Wednesday, the White House announced that this weekend Vice President Mike Pence “will deliver remarks to sailors on the Trump Administration’s historic foreign policy achievements at Naval Air Station Lemoore,” and then to the 10th Mountain Division, in Fort Drum, New York. Two senior defense officials confirmed to Defense One on Thursday that no military farewell is being planned for the commander in chief. . .

How have previous presidents used their final appearances as commander in chief? The first Armed Forces Farewell hosted by the Joint Chiefs chairman and defense secretary occured in 1989. Ronald Reagan turned the ceremony at Camp Springs, Maryland, into a celebration of the younger men and women in uniform he faced — while also touting his administration’s successes. Basking in the post-Cold War peace, Reagan noted that America had at last shed its post-Vietnam feelings about the military. “The luster has been restored to the reputation of our fighting forces after a time during which it was shamefully fashionable to deride or even condemn service such as yours. Those days will never come again.” (Read more from “Pentagon Won’t Throw Traditional Farewell Ceremony for Trump” HERE)

WATCH: Once Again, President Trump Denounces Political Violence

President Donald Trump condemned political violence once more, in stronger terms, after the House of Representatives voted to impeach the president, urging his supporters not to engage in physical violence.

“There is never a justification for violence,” Trump said in a video released by the White House on YouTube. “No excuses. No exceptions. America is a nation of laws.”

The president spoke shortly after the House of Representatives voted to impeach him again, as Democrats blamed him for fueling the violent riots at the Capitol by rallying to contest the election with supporters in Washington, DC.

The vote was 232 to 197, as ten Republicans joined Democrats to support the impeachment resolution. The resolution now goes to the Senate, where the president will likely go on trial in the coming days, even after he leaves office with the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

In his video, Trump “unequivocally” condemned his supporters who stormed Capitol Hill a week ago, and said that there was no place for violence in his political movement. (Read more from “Once Again, President Trump Denounces Political Violence” HERE)

Twitter Ban Means Trump’s Call for Supporters To Be Peaceful Goes Unheard

Twitter’s permanent ban of President Donald Trump implemented last week has blocked the president from encouraging supporters to remain peaceful on the very platform federal authorities say pro-Trump demonstrators used to coordinate last week’s attacks.

“In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking and NO vandalism of any kind,” Trump said through a White House statement as the FBI warns of more armed protests nationwide next week. “That is not what I stand for, and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers.”

The president himself can’t publish the message on Facebook or Instagram either. Both Facebook and Twitter, however, were used as platforms by right-wing extremists to plot last week’s attacks.

Liberal Actor, Dem Rep. Compare Trump Supporters To Al-Qaeda, Says Trump Is ‘Bin Laden’ (VIDEO)

More than 74 million Americans voted last November to reelect President Donald Trump. Now actor Sean Penn has compared supporters of the president to al-Qaeda, the radical Islamic terrorist network, in what is the latest example of the left’s attempts to demonize conservatives as homicidal terrorists.

Sean Penn also likened President Trump to Osama Bin Laden in a tweet on Wednesday. . .

Penn’s inflammatory rhetoric comes as Democrats and the media ramp up comparisons of conservatives to terrorists, even as many of them are calling for “unity” and “healing.”

In an interview this week on PBS’s Newshour, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) compared President Trump to Bin Laden and his supporters to terrorists who were “inspired and radicalized people to storm the Capitol.”

Ilhan Omar: The Need to Impeach Trump Is Just Like the Need to ‘Hold a Murderer’ Accountable (VIDEO)

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) told MSNBC on Tuesday Congress must impeach and remove President Trump because he is responsible for the riot at the Capitol building that resulted in five deaths and many injuries.

Trump is facing another impeachment vote this week as Democrats in Congress say he incited the riot last Wednesday while they were in the process of certifying the Electoral College results, resulting in President-elect Joe Biden’s victory permanent.

“I know that some have likened the reaction that we are getting, obviously, from the President and some of, you know, Democrats and some Republicans in Congress, to someone saying, you know, if we were to hold a murderer or someone who has committed violence accountable, there will be more. And to me, it is really the — having consequences for actions that act as a deterrent,” Omar said.
