Twitter Permanently Bans Trump, Suspends Sidney Powell, Gen. Flynn, Others; Parler Deplatformed; Go to Gab

By Bloomberg. Twitter Inc. permanently banned U.S. President Donald Trump’s personal account … marking the most high-profile punishment the company has ever imposed and the end of Trump’s relationship with his favorite social media megaphone.

“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” the company wrote in a blog post on Friday. . .

Twitter had demanded that Trump delete three offending tweets, and warned at the time that he could be permanently blocked for subsequent rules violations. His account, which had more than 88 million followers, was restored Thursday. Trump’s posts on Friday included a tweet saying he wouldn’t attend President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration — and Twitter determined the tweets violated the company’s policies when “read in the context of broader events in the country.” . . .

The company said this was an indication that the president planned to continue supporting and empowering those who believe he won the November election. “Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the U.S. Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021,” Twitter wrote. Parler to be deplatformed as of midnight, January 10, 2021

By Janita Kan. Parler is fending off another attempt to shut down the social media network after Amazon said it is suspending the company from its web hosting service.

Parler founder and CEO John Matze said in a statement that the multinational technology company will be shutting Parler’s servers at midnight Sunday, Jan. 10.

Matze has characterized the decision as “an attempt to completely remove free speech off the internet.”

He added that Parler may be unavailable for up to a week as they work to rebuild the networking service online. (Read more from this story HERE)

Twitter Suspends Sidney Powell, Michael Flynn, Other Trump Allies

By WND. After temporarily suspending President Trump’s account on Wednesday, Twitter late Friday afternoon permanently banned the accounts of several of his prominent allies, including lawyer Sidney Powell and his former national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

The social media giant’s stated reason for banning the two and others was “behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm.” . . .

A Twitter spokesman told Fox News that Flynn’s tweets were related to the conspiracy website QAnon and calls to violence.

The accounts, according to a Twitter spokesman who spoke with NBC News, violated a “policy on Coordinated Harmful Activity.” (Read more from “Twitter Suspends Sidney Powell, Michael Flynn, Other Trump Allies” HERE)

Time to Go to Gab

By Joe Miller. I’ve been increasingly impressed with Andrew Torba. He’s a young, aggressive tech entrepreneur who had the foresight to build an alternative social media platform on his own servers, thereby avoiding the fate of Parler and others. He also apparently had a pretty radical experience with God, and isn’t afraid to tell folks about it:

I’m impressed with Gab and have found that it provides a solid alternative to the oligarch-controlled, freedom-hating Facebook and Twitter. Give them a shot. You can find me at Gab at @Joe-Miller and Parler at @JoeWMiller

Pelosi Called Military Chief About President Trump’s Access to Nuclear Launch Codes

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told House members Friday that she called Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley to ask what was being done to prevent President Donald Trump from accessing nuclear launch codes, calling the president “unhinged.”

The California Democrat’s move comes after calling for the vice president and Cabinet to remove Trump from office in the wake of his inciting his supporters to storm the Capitol on Wednesday in a deadly assault.

“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike,” she said in a letter to House Democrats. Giuliani Says Trump Owes It to MAGA Movement to Declassify Everything

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said President Donald Trump owes it to his supporters to declassify everything before he leaves office.

Giuliani, Trump’s personal attorney, told former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon on a podcast Friday that the president ought to go on a reclassification spree because there’s “no longer any reason to try to create some kind of harmony.”

“At many times, I thought he was ready to do it, and many times it was blocked by, I have to assume, the force that we now call the ‘deep state,’” Giuliani said.

“I think he owes it, not just to MAGA, he owes it to the American people to put it out,” Giuliani said. (Read more from “Giuliani Says Trump Owes It to MAGA Movement to Declassify Everything” HERE)

President Trump Won’t Attend Biden’s Inauguration

President Trump announced Friday morning he will not attend the inauguration of Joe Biden.

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” he wrote on Friday.

In a video message posted Thursday evening on Twitter, Trump vowed to assist in an orderly transition to a Biden administration, condemned “the heinous attack” on the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday and promised his supporters that “our incredible journey is only just beginning.”

Just prior to announcing he won’t attend the inauguration, he tweeted Friday that the 75 million who voted for him “will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

Trump will be the fourth president to not attend his successor’s inauguration and the first since 1869. Presidents John Adams, John Quincy Adams and Andrew Johnson were the others. (Read more from “President Trump Won’t Attend Biden’s Inauguration” HERE)

MUST-SEE VIDEO: Trump Supporters Attempting to Stop ‘Antifa’ From Breaking Into the Capitol; New Footage Yields More Questions Regarding the Woman Shot and Killed Inside the Capitol

By Townhall. Footage from Wednesday’s infamous pro-Trump rally, which turned into a riot, shows that not every Trump supporter was on board with the decision to trespass into the Capitol and ransack congressional offices.

“No Antifa, no Antifa,” a woman is heard shouting as protesters break their way into the Capitol. Another Trump supporter can be seen attempting to physically restrain an individual damaging the doorway leading into the building.

“Don’t break that window,” a person yells.

New Footage Yields More Questions Regarding the Woman Shot and Killed Inside the Capitol

By Townhall. Why was it so easy for demonstrators to storm the Capitol? Was the city prepared? Regardless, the fact is that while Congress was debating certifying the 2020 Electoral College results, senators and representatives had to recess and flee to safety as Trump supporters broke into the building. Guns were drawn inside the House chamber as police barricaded the door to prevent protesters from coming inside. The Senate floor was breached. Inside the building, tear gas was deployed and a rumble between police and protesters broke out in the Rotunda. Also, a woman was shot and killed. The footage is not pleasant. You can watch it here [WARNING: Graphic content].

It clearly shows a police officer shoot the woman who is trying to bust down the door, but as Ben Domenech of The Federalist noted, “This is crazy. There were other cops right behind her.

Was there an attempt at an arrest? I also understand that this is one of those situations where you could potentially be shot by police. We’ll let the investigation begin as there always is with an officer-involved shooting, but I’m sure more questions will be raised before we get any answers. Also, Twitter is not the place to debate or argue this event at all. Dan Cohen of Behind the Headlines had the clip, by the way.

Report: White House Counsel Warning Staffers That Donald Trump Could Be Charged With Treason

The White House’s top lawyer is reportedly warning staffers not to contact Donald Trump over fears that they could join him in being charged with treason, a report claims.

Vanity Fair reported that there was panic among staffers after violence broke out at the U.S. Capitol as angry supporters of the president stormed the building, forcing members of Congress to go into hiding. Some of them feared that they could be implicated in a coup to overthrow the government, and were advised to steer clear of Trump.

“The West Wing staffer told the friend that White House Counsel Pat Cipollone was urging White House officials not to speak to Trump or enable his coup attempt in any way, so they could reduce the chance they could be prosecuted for treason under the Sedition Act,” the outlet noted. Nikki Haley Tells RNC Trump’s Actions Since Election ‘Will Be Judged Harshly by History’

Former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley delivered harsh criticisms of President Donald Trump in a speech to the Republican National Committee on Thursday, telling the audience that her former boss’s actions since the election “will be judged harshly by history.”

“President Trump has not always chosen the right words,” Haley said in her address at the RNC’s winter meeting, according to Politico. “He was wrong with his words in Charlottesville, and I told him so at the time. He was badly wrong with his words yesterday. And it wasn’t just his words. His actions since Election Day will be judged harshly by history.”

The Washington Free Beacon reported that Haley also praised Trump for his foreign policy approach, saying, “President Trump was our first commander in chief to see China for what it really is—the greatest global threat facing America. He held China accountable for its unfair trade, its theft of our secrets, and its egregious human rights record. The United States now sees China with open eyes, and we have Donald Trump to thank for that.”

On the morning of her talk, Haley tweeted that “it would be a conversation about where we are, some hard truths, and where I believe we go from here.” (Read more from “Nikki Haley Tells RNC Trump’s Actions Since Election ‘Will Be Judged Harshly by History'” HERE)

Free Speech Threatened in Social-Media Censorship of President

Several social media companies that long have censored President Trump stepped up their crackdown on him Thursday in response to statements he posted affirming his belief that the 2020 election was fatally flawed with fraud.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat all announced some level of punishment for Trump, including an indefinite lockdown by Snapchat. . .

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great. Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete.”

Politico reported Republican Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington state warned of the free speech implications of the censorship.

“Censoring the sitting President of the United States has serious free speech consequences that will extend far beyond President Trump’s time in office,” she said, “Rather, President Trump should use his platform to lower the temperature and encourage a peaceful transition of power.” (Read more from “Free Speech Threatened in Social-Media Censorship of President” HERE)

WATCH: President Trump Announces Plan for ‘Smooth Transition of Power’

President Donald Trump condemned supporters who stormed Capitol Hill in stronger terms on Thursday, calling for renewed bonds of patriotism during the transition of power to President-elect Joe Biden.

“This moment calls for healing and reconciliation,” Trump said. “2020 has been a challenging time for our people.” . . .

“The demonstrators who infiltrated the capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy,” Trump said. “To those who engage in the acts of violence and destruction, you do not represent our country, and to those who broke the law, you will pay.”

“America is and must always be a nation of law and order,” Trump said, adding that although “emotions are high” after the election, “tempers must be cooled.” . . .

“To all of my wonderful supporters, I know that you are disappointed, but I also want you to know that our incredible journey is only just beginning,” he concluded.

Pelosi: Congress May Move Forward With Trump Impeachment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said during a press conference Thursday that if Vice President Mike Pence does not move forward with efforts to remove President Donald Trump from office, then the House might impeach the 45th president.

Pelosi signaled her support for using the 25th Amendment and floated that the House may try to remove Trump from office via impeachment.

“If the vice president and the cabinet do not act, the congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment,” Pelosi said.

“Yesterday, the president of the United States incited an armed insurrection against America,” she added.

“This is urgent; this is an emergency of the highest magnitude,” Pelosi said. The California Democrat called Trump “a very dangerous person who should not continue in office.” (Read more from “Pelosi: Congress May Move Forward With Trump Impeachment” HERE)
