Musician Wears Pro-Trump Gown to Grammys: ‘Impeached and Re-Elected’ (VIDEO)

Joy Villa turned heads at the Grammy Awards on Sunday with yet another bold pro-Trump inspired gown.

The award-winning recording artist and political activist showed up to the red carpet decked out in a red, white and blue ensemble. The 28-year-old began posing for the cameras in a white form-fitting coverlet adorned with blue sequins and white stars.

Villa then took off the white outer layer and revealed a plunging red halter dress embellished with white letters that spelled out “TRUMP” down the center. The gown also read “2020” along the bottom.

The backside of the dress made even more of a MAGA statement, with the word “IMPEACHED” down the center and “re-elected” horizontally along the bottom. (Read more from “Musician Wears Pro-Trump Gown to Grammys: ‘Impeached and Re-Elected'” HERE)

WATCH: Democratic House Impeachment Manager Admits What Impeachment Is Actually About; Alan Dershowitz Tells Senate Trump’s Impeachment Is Unconstitutional

By The Blaze. House impeachment manager Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) made a stunning admission Sunday, implying that Democrats want President Donald Trump’s impeachment to impact the 2020 election.

During an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” host Jake Tapper asked Lofgren why she instructed senators last week to not “surrender to the president’s stonewalling” when House Democrats did not pursue subpoenas and force additional witnesses to testify.

“You didn’t pursue it in court. You ultimately withdrew the cases and went to the Senate,” Tapper noted. “Didn’t you surrender to the president’s stonewalling, in that sense?”

Lofgren responded, “Well, in that — I guess, in that sense, we did, because, if we had waited for three or four years, the election would be over. The issue would be almost moot.”

Alan Dershowitz Tells Senate Trump’s Impeachment Is Unconstitutional

By USA Today. Alan Dershowitz, a celebrity lawyer on President Donald Trump’s defense team in the Senate impeachment trial, argued Monday that the articles charging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress are unconstitutional because they didn’t allege a violation of federal crime.

Dershowitz argued that even if reports about former national security John Bolton were true, they would not be impeachable to Trump. Bolton wrote a book that said Trump withheld $391 million in military for Ukraine while pressuring that country to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

“It is inconceivable that the framers would have intended so politically loaded and promiscuously deployed a term as abuse of power to be weaponized as a tool of impeachment,” Dershowitz said. “It is precisely that the kind of vague, open-ended and subjective term that the framers feared and rejected.” . . .

The Constitution allows impeachment for treason, bribery or “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Dershowitz argued that the framers of the Constitution wanted to limit impeachment to crimes similar to treason or bribery. He added that a crime is implicitly required by the Constitution because the Senate holding the trial will acquit or convict the president. Democrats Step up Pressure Over Witnesses After Bolton Bombshell; Bolton Slams ‘Corrupted’ National Security Council Review Process After Book Excerpt Leaks

By The Hill. Democrats are stepping up pressure on Republicans to support calling witnesses as part of President Trump’s impeachment trial after a bombshell New York Times report Sunday evening.

The Times, citing sources familiar with former national security adviser John Bolton’s unpublished memoir, reported that Bolton claims President Trump sought to tie $391 million in aid to Ukraine to his requests for the country’s leaders to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. The Hill has not seen or verified the manuscript.

Democrats, including House impeachment managers, immediately seized on the report, arguing it underscores the need for Bolton and other administration officials to testify.

“John Bolton has the evidence,” Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) wrote in a tweet. “It’s up to four Senate Republicans to ensure that John Bolton, Mick Mulvaney, and the others with direct knowledge of President Trump’s actions testify in the Senate trial.” . . .

Trump’s legal team began presenting its defense on Saturday, including arguing that the president’s decision to hold up Ukraine aid was tied to concerns about corruption or a belief that Europe wasn’t doing enough to support Ukraine. Bolton Slams ‘Corrupted’ National Security Council Review Process After Book Excerpt Leaks

By Fox News. A top aide to former national security adviser John Bolton is disputing part of a Sunday report in The New York Times, which claimed Bolton had shared a manuscript of his forthcoming book with “close associates” — and Bolton’s lawyer is saying the National Security Council’s review process of pending manuscripts is “corrupted.”

The Times reported that the manuscript included a bombshell claim that Trump explicitly linked a hold on Ukraine aid to an investigation of Joe and Hunter Biden.

Trump told Bolton in August, according to a transcript of Bolton’s forthcoming book reviewed by the Times, “that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens.”

The Times reported that Bolton had circulated “drafts of a manuscript he has circulated in recent weeks to close associates” and also “sent a draft to the White House for a standard review process for some current and former administration officials who write books.” . . .

In a statement obtained by Fox News, Bolton attorney Charles Cooper lamened that the review process had been “corrupted.” (Read more from “Bolton Slams ‘Corrupted’ National Security Council Review Process After Book Excerpt Leaks” HERE)

Democrats Accuse President Trump of ‘Threatening’ Adam Schiff; Republican Senator: Trump’s Schiff Tweet Not a ‘Death Threat’

By The Blaze. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the House Democrat leading the impeachment charge against President Donald Trump, accused the president on Sunday of threatening him.

Speaking with NBC host Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press,” Schiff called Trump “vindictive,” and charged that one of Trump’s recent tweets constitutes a personal threat.

“What may be personal, though, and I think I have to be very candid about this, is I made the argument that it’s going to require moral courage to stand up to this president,” Schiff said. “I don’t think there’s any doubt about it. And if you think there is, look at the president’s tweets about me today saying that I should ‘pay a price.'”

Todd responded, “Do you take that as a threat?”

“I think it’s intended to be,” Schiff replied.

Republican Senator: Trump’s Schiff Tweet Not a ‘Death Threat’

By The Hill. Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) said Sunday that a tweet from President Trump saying Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) “has not paid the price” for “what he has done” to the U.S. was not “a death threat.”

The senator defended the president on CNN’s “State of the Union” when host Jake Tapper asked him about Trump’s tweet earlier Sunday morning targeting Schiff.

“I don’t think it’s a death threat. I don’t think he’s encouraging a death threat,” Lankford said.

Lankford also called Trump’s tweet “political,” saying it was “no different than” when Schiff and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) say “folks will be paying a price at the ballot box” or in the future.

When Tapper asked if he was “offended” by the president’s tweet, Lankford responded that he is “offended only because Adam Schiff believes that the only reason that we act the way that we do is because the president’s going to put our head on a pike.” (Read more from “Republican Senator: Trump’s Schiff Tweet Not a ‘Death Threat'” HERE)

WATCH: Democrats Compare Trump to Nazi Germany, 9/11 Terrorists During Senate Trial

By Daily Wire. New York Democratic Representative Hakeem Jeffries, who is one the Democrats’ House impeachment managers, argued on Friday during President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial that Trump’s impeachment was like fighting Nazi Germany during World War II and al-Qaeda after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“Whenever America has found itself in a tough spot, we always make it to the other side,” Jeffries said. “We were in a tough spot in December of 1941 when a foreign power struck, plunging us into a great conflict with the evil empire of Nazi Germany, but America made it to the other side.”

“We were in a tough spot on September 11th when the towers were struck and young men and women like Jason Crow were sent to Afghanistan to fight the terrorists there so we didn’t have to fight the terrorists here, and we made it to the other side,” Jeffries later added. “America is a great country.”

GOP senators turn to fidget spinners during Trump impeachment trial

By NBC News. Restless senators, sitting through endless hours of the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, now have an outlet: fidget spinners.

Richard Burr, R-N.C., handed out the toys to several of his fellow senators in the chamber before Thursday’s trial proceedings got underway.

A fidget spinner is a small toy with a ball bearing at its center that can be used to play with between the fingers. . .

Fidget spinners have become especially popular in recent years, and they have prompted a collection of YouTube videos on how to perform tricks. The fidget spinners, which are sold for a couple of dollars each, have been promoted as toys that can reduce anxiety and help users focus. Trump: First President in History to Speak at the March for Life

By CNN. On Friday, Donald Trump became the first President to speak in person at the March for Life in Washington. This is a really big deal.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of pro-life demonstrators come together in our nation’s capital to commemorate the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s wrongly decided Roe v. Wade decision and demand political action that would protect the right to life for the unborn. Now in its 47th year, the march has become the premier event of the pro-life movement.

Trump’s historic appearance was a boon for marchers, as it helped draw increased attention to the event and highlight the pro-life movement’s considerable political success in recent years. It also presents an enormous opportunity for him to reach the many Americans who are on the fence about abortion by drawing a contrast with the extreme positions of his 2020 Democrat opponents. Trump at March for Life: ‘We Are Fighting for Those Who Have No Voice and We Will Win’

By Daily Wire. President Donald Trump gave a rousing speech to tens of thousands of pro-life advocates at the March for Life on Friday in Washington, D.C., declaring that the pro-life movement is going to win in its fight to protect the lives of the unborn.

The president noted his administration’s record in defending human life, from the numerous federal judges that he has appointed to reinstating the Mexico City policy, which blocks U.S. taxpayer money from being sent to foreign organizations that promote or engage in providing abortions.

“Sadly, the far-left is actively working to erase our God-given rights, shut down faith-based charities, ban religious believers from the public square, and silenced Americans who believe in the sanctity of life,” Trump said. “They are coming after me because I am fighting for you and we are fighting for those who have no voice and we will win because we know how to win.”

“Together we are the voice for the voiceless, when it comes to abortion Democrats, and you know this, you’ve seen what’s happened, Democrats have embraced the most radical and extreme positions taken and seen in this country for years and decades and you could even say for centuries,” Trump continued. “Nearly every top Democrat in Congress now supports taxpayer-funded abortion all the way up until the moment of birth.”

“Last year lawmakers in New York cheered with the light upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb right up until delivery,” Trump continued. “Then we had the case of the Democrat governor in the state of Virginia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and we love the Commonwealth of Virginia, but what is going on in Virginia? What is going on? The governor stated that he would execute a baby after birth, you remember that.” (Read more from “Trump at March for Life: ‘We Are Fighting for Those Who Have No Voice and We Will Win’” HERE)

Bernie Sanders Leads Donald Trump by Widest Margin of All 2020 Candidates

Senator Bernie Sanders leads President Donald Trump by the widest margin of all the candidates in the Democratic Party’s 2020 race when Americans are asked to choose in a face-off against the Republican incumbent, according to a poll.

SurveyUSA asked 4,069 registered voters nationwide how they would vote in an election today if Trump was pitted against each of the 2020 candidates in the Democratic race. The progressive Vermont independent came out on top.

The poll found that 52 percent of voters would choose Sanders and 43 percent Trump, giving the veteran senator a nine-point lead. Next was former vice president Joe Biden at 50 percent to Trump’s 43 percent, a seven-point lead.

Michael Bloomberg, the media and financial data billionaire, also led Trump by seven points at 49 percent to 42 percent. Democratic Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren leads Trump 48 percent to 45 percent, a three-point advantage. Geraldo Rivera: Donald Trump Is a ‘Civil-Rights Leader’ (VIDEO)

Fox News correspondent-at-large Geraldo Rivera on Tuesday insisted that President Donald Trump is a “civil-rights leader,” pointing to low African-American unemployment to make his case.

The morning after Martin Luther King Day, the former Celebrity Apprentice star reacted to Trump’s arrival at the economic summit in Davos, telling the hosts of Fox & Friends that he feels “awful” for the president because he’s dealing with impeachment during his trip.

“This is an economic summit, the American economy is the envy of the world,” he declared. “I call him, to great controversy, a civil-rights leader, especially yesterday on Martin Luther King Day.”

“Because why?” Rivera continued. “African American unemployment—lowest it’s ever been. Latino unemployment—lowest it’s ever been. The rising tide, the rising tide is lifting all boats, we should be celebrating, instead he’s fighting this—this, you know, cage match.”

Trump Administration Releases Rule to Restrict ‘Birth Tourism’

The Trump administration on Thursday formally issued a rule allowing customs officials to deny entry to travelers whom they suspect are headed to the U.S. for the sole purpose of giving birth on American soil.

A rule issued by the State Department marks the administration’s first formal effort to cut down on the practice known as “birth tourism,” which President Trump has heavily criticized and suggested should be a reason for ending birthright citizenship.

“This rule establishes that travel to the United States with the primary purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for a child by giving birth in the United States is an impermissible basis for the issuance of a B nonimmigrant visa,” the statute reads.

“Consequently, a consular officer shall deny a B nonimmigrant visa to an alien who he or she has reason to believe intends to travel for this primary purpose,” it continues.

The White House said in a statement that “the birth tourism industry threatens to overburden valuable hospital resources and is rife with criminal activity, as reflected in Federal prosecutions.” (Read more from “Trump Administration Releases Rule to Restrict ‘Birth Tourism'” HERE)

DOJ Concludes That Two FISA Surveillance Renewals on Carter Page Were Illegal

By The Blaze. The Department of Justice concluded that two renewals of the FISA surveillance warrant against a former Trump campaign official were illegal, according to a report Thursday in the Wall Street Journal.

Carter Page was targeted by the FBI for surveillance during the Obama administration because of ties he had to Russia, but critics have accused the government of acting improperly and out of political motivation.

Two of the renewals of the warrant against Page were made in 2017, and the DOJ now believes they had “insufficient predication to establish probable cause.”

The admission will undoubtedly help bolster claims of politically motivated abuse of power against former Obama officials.

“Today’s unprecedented court filing represents another step on the road to recovery for America’s deeply damaged judicial system,” said Page in a statement responding to the report. (Read more from “DOJ Concludes That Two FISA Surveillance Renewals on Carter Page Were Illegal” HERE)

Justice Dept. Concedes It Had ‘Insufficient’ Cause to Continue Monitoring Former Trump Campaign Adviser in Russia Probe

By The Washington Post. The Justice Department secretly acknowledged last month that it had “insufficient predication” to continue monitoring a former Trump campaign adviser during the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to records made public Thursday — a notable admission likely to fuel continued criticism over how the bureau handled the high-profile case.

The concession was revealed in an order posted on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court’s website. In December, according to the order, the department told the court it had come to believe that in at least two of the four applications to monitor the former adviser, Carter Page, “there was insufficient predication to establish probable cause” to believe he was acting as a Russian agent. . .

The department’s concession is validating for conservatives who had long criticized the surveillance of Page, and it is likely to fuel continued attacks on the Russia probe, which was eventually taken over by former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. (Read more from “Justice Dept. Concedes It Had ‘Insufficient’ Cause to Continue Monitoring Former Trump Campaign Adviser in Russia Probe” HERE)
