WATCH: Democrats Refuse to Acknowledge Trump’s Unemployment Numbers; Trump Highlights Baby Born at 21 Weeks, Calls on Congress to Ban Late-Term Abortion

By Daily Caller. Democrats sat quietly as Republicans applauded the lowest women’s unemployment numbers in years Tuesday night at the State of the Union.

President Donald Trump delivered the State of the Union address to Congress Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., where he said that the unemployment rate under his administration is lower than it has been for any administration in the history of the U.S.

The president also pointed out that unemployment rates for women have reached record lows, amidst thunderous applause from Republicans. Democrats attending the State of the Union, however, sat silent as Republicans applauded low unemployment for women. . .

“African-American youth unemployment has reached an all-time low,” the president said. “African-American poverty has declined to the lowest rate ever recorded. The unemployment rate for women reached the lowest level in almost 70 years and last year women filled 72% of all new jobs added.” (Read more from “Democrats Refuse to Acknowledge Trump’s Unemployment Numbers” HERE)

Trump Highlights Baby Born at 21 Weeks, Calls on Congress to Ban Late-Term Abortion

By Daily Caller. President Donald Trump highlighted a premature baby born at 21 weeks and called on lawmakers to ban late-term abortion Tuesday night at the State of the Union.

Trump delivered the State of the Union address to Congress Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., where he discussed the birth of Ellie Schneider, a baby born at 21 weeks and six days.

“In 2017, doctors at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City [Missouri] delivered one of the earliest premature babies ever to survive, 21 weeks and 6 days and weighing less than a pound,” the president said. “Ellie was a born fighter. Through the skill of her doctors and the prayers of her parents, she won the battle of life.”

“Today she is a healthy 2-year-old girl sitting with her amazing mother, Robin,” Trump said, pointing to the child’s mother in the gallery. “We are glad to have you with us tonight.” (Read more from “Trump Highlights Baby Born at 21 Weeks, Calls on Congress to Ban Late-Term Abortion” HERE)

WATCH: Trump Calls Bernie a ‘Communist,’ Blasts Other Dems in Super Bowl Pregame Interview; Bloomberg Campaign Calls Trump a ‘Pathological Liar’ With ‘Fake Hair,’ ‘Obesity’ and ‘Spray on Tan’

By Daily Caller. President Donald Trump called Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders “a communist” and blasted other Democrats in an interview that aired Sunday before Super Bowl LIV.

Speaking with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Trump was asked to respond to some of the names of Democrats who are seeking their party’s presidential nomination. When asked about Sanders, Trump replied, “Well, I think he’s a communist. I mean you know, look. I think of communism when I think of Bernie. Now you could say socialist, but didn’t he get married in Moscow?”

Bloomberg Campaign Calls Trump a ‘Pathological Liar’ With ‘Fake Hair,’ ‘Obesity’ and ‘Spray on Tan’

By NBC News. President Donald Trump and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg traded barbs on Sunday hours before their dueling ads were set to compete during the Super Bowl. . .

“Very little,” Trump told Fox News of Bloomberg in a clip released hours ahead of his pre-Super Bowl interview with Sean Hannity. “I just think of little. You know, now he wants a box for the debates to stand on. OK. It’s OK. There’s nothing wrong. You can be short. Why should he get a box to stand on. He wants a box for the debates. Why should he be entitled? Does that mean everyone else gets a box?”

“The president is lying,” Bloomberg campaign spokesperson Julie Wood said in a statement. “He is a pathological liar who lies about everything: his fake hair, his obesity, and his spray-on tan.”

The former mayor echoed his spokesperson’s remarks, saying that Trump “lies about everything so you shouldn’t be surprised that he said things like that.”

“I stand twice as tall as he does on the stage that matters,” he added. (Read more from “Bloomberg Campaign Calls Trump a ‘Pathological Liar’ With ‘Fake Hair,’ ‘Obesity’ and ‘Spray on Tan'” HERE)

Schiff Makes PATHETIC Closing Argument: Trump Could Sell Alaska (VIDEO)

By The Blaze. Closing arguments in the Senate’s impeachment trial wrapped up Monday with some far-reaching arguments from two of the House’s impeachment managers.

On the one hand, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) claimed that, if non-criminal acts aren’t impeachable, President Donald Trump would be able to trade away a U.S. state to Russia for political assistance.

During his closing arguments, Schiff attacked the position that only criminal actions rise to the constitutional standard of “high crimes and misdemeanors” as grounds for impeachment. If non-criminal actions aren’t impeachable, the California Democrat argued, then “a whole range of utterly unacceptable conduct in a president would now beyond reach.”

For example, Schiff claimed, “Trump could offer Alaska to the Russians in exchange for support in the next election, or decide to move to Mar-a-Lago permanently and let Jared Kushner run the country, delegating to him the decision whether to go to war.”

Impeachment Closing Arguments: Dems Claim ‘Duty Demands’ a Conviction, as Trump Team Decries ‘Rush to Judgment’

By Fox News. The impeachment trial of President Trump drew closer toward its almost-inevitable conclusion with closing arguments Monday, as Democratic House impeachment managers made a last-ditch push to convince the Senate that an acquittal would be a “death blow” to the ability to hold a president in check, while Trump’s defense team accused the Democrats of engaging in a rushed, “purely partisan” endeavor. . .

“I submit to you on behalf of the House of Representatives that your duty demands that you convict President Trump,” House manager Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., said during his remarks, the first among the Democrats who delivered arguments.

Crow addressed an argument put forth by Trump legal team member Alan Dershowitz, who claimed that Trump was working in the national interest, and not his personal interest, by asking Ukraine to investigate possible corruption related to former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Dershowitz asserted that even if Trump was acting to aid his own re-election if he believes his re-election to be in the nation’s best interest, it would be proper. . .

As for the president’s team on Monday, attorney Kenneth Starr argued the House’s impeachment power is not free of limitations. . .

Starr also accused the House Judiciary Committee of rushing to move forward with impeachment and contrasted Trump’s impeachment with that of President Bill Clinton and the effort to impeach President Richard Nixon, both of which enjoyed bipartisan support, unlike the Trump impeachment. Donald Trump Wins Republican Iowa Caucuses; Democrat Iowa Caucus Results Delayed Due to ‘Quality Control’ Checks; The Iowa Caucus Disaster Can Be Blamed Partly on Hillary Clinton’s Former Campaign Manager

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump officially won the Republican caucuses in Iowa on Monday, an expected result as there was no serious primary challenger.

Donald Trump earned 97 percent of the caucus vote, with 100 percent of the counties reporting according to the Republican state party reporting page. . .

The president’s re-election campaign sent an army of over 80 surrogates to the state caucuses including members of his family and top Republicans.

Trump’s campaign manager Brad Parscale said that it was still important to make an appearance in the state to build up their supporter base in Iowa.

“A lot of people ask us why we’re out here today,” Parscale said at a caucus press conference on Monday. “The truth is, this is our first test of a grassroots army we built.”

Democrat Iowa Caucus Results Delayed Due to ‘Quality Control’ Checks

By Breitbart. Democrat presidential campaigns began voicing concerns about the delayed results of the Iowa caucuses on Monday night.

Two and half hours after the Iowa caucuses opened, the state party had no results to report, leaving presidential campaigns in the dark about how they performed, even after the caucus results were complete.

Cable news outlets also began voicing concerns about the process as they had nothing to report.

The Iowa Democrat Party revamped the Iowa caucus process, promising to release three different sets of data, including the numbers of a pre-realignment vote, a final vote, and a delegate count. . .

The Iowa Democrat party admitted there was a delay because of “quality control.” Earlier in the day, precinct chairs reported some issues with downloading the new result reporting app ahead of the caucuses. The Iowa Caucus Disaster Can Be Blamed Partly on Hillary Clinton’s Former Campaign Manager

By Washington Examiner. The Democratic Party’s first big showing in the 2020 election has been an unmitigated disaster.

On Sunday, a highly anticipated poll of likely Iowa Democratic caucus-goers was scuttled after a voter complained of polling irregularities, prompting the survey’s conductors to shelve the results out of an “abundance of caution.”

On Monday, the day of caucuses, Iowa Democratic Party members held emergency meetings late into the evening over possible voting irregularities and precinct reporting errors. They announced eventually an indefinite delay to the release of the election results due to “quality checks.”

At this rate, with this sort of disorder and chaos, President Trump is going to steamroll whomever the Democrats throw at him and his well-oiled machine this November. It is going to be like the 2016 election all over again, which is really quite appropriate considering Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager, Robby Mook, is tied to the electoral mess in Iowa.

It is a bit convoluted, but it goes like this: The Iowa Democratic Party tried something new this year. It tried to synchronize all election reporting with a new smartphone app, “which is downloaded on the personal cellphones of caucus managers to tabulate and report results,” the Des Moines Register reports. Trump Campaign Removes Bloomberg News Reporter From Iowa Event

President Trump’s campaign escorted a Bloomberg News reporter out of an event in Iowa weeks after it said it would no longer credential the news organization’s reporters for its events.

Reporter Jennifer Jacobs was removed from the room before a news conference in West Des Moines on Monday. A campaign official told the Washington Examiner the decision was in line with campaign policy.

The Trump campaign said in December that it would not give Bloomberg News reporters credentials following the news organization’s decision not to conduct investigative reporting on any 2020 Democratic presidential candidates after its owner, Michael Bloomberg, announced he was running for president. Bloomberg News said it would cover daily campaign events as usual and would still investigate the Trump administration. Trump’s Updated Immigration Moratorium List: A Good Start

In what is perhaps more important news to the future of our nation than impeachment, the White House announced late on Friday an updated “travel ban,” with a new list of countries from which immigration has been suspended due to national security concerns.

Pursuant to a new DHS global assessment report of how carefully countries share identity-management and national security information with us, the administration has determined a need to suspend immigration visas to nationals of Burma (Myanmar), Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Sudan, and Tanzania. The acting DHS secretary has also determined a need to continue the suspension of visas from the countries on the existing list – Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, North Korea, Venezuela, and Yemen.

According to the White House, the determination was based on three criteria: “Whether a foreign government engages in reliable identity-management practices and shares relevant information; whether a foreign government shares national security and public-safety information; and whether a country otherwise poses a national security or public-safety risk.”

The new proclamation indicates that the DHS report recommended “implementing suspensions and limitations on entry for certain nationals of twelve additional countries,” more than the six that were ultimately restricted. It appears that senior administration officials felt that some of the other countries either made improvements to their data sharing in recent months or were left off the list because the U.S. “has experienced a recent deepening of diplomatic ties that generally mark increased cooperation toward achieving key regional and global United States foreign policy goals.”

The new ban is slated to take effect on February 22.

This is a good start for Trump to finally fulfill his campaign promise of ratcheting down immigration from dangerous parts of the world. However, there are some glaring omissions and inconsistencies in the proposal:

1) The ban on these six countries is only for immigrant visas. Nationals of these countries are still eligible for all non-immigrant visas, including student visas. We have about 13,400 foreign students from Nigeria. In the case of Sudan and Tanzania, the only form of immigrant visa that is suspended is the diversity visa lottery. Sudan is embroiled in an Islamic civil war. And according to the White House, all these countries have “deficiencies in sharing terrorist, criminal, or identity information,” thereby creating “an unacceptable likelihood that information reflecting the fact that a visa applicant is a threat to national security or public safety may not be available at the time the visa or entry is approved.” If that is the case, then why is the ban so limited?

2) Nationals of these countries can still apply for waivers. As we’ve already seen from the existing countries on the list, 48 percent of all applications for visas from those countries were approved, totaling 42,000 issuances over the past two years.

3) Nobody in government can say with a straight face that the Chinese share any meaningful information with us. Border agents have told me this firsthand about processing Chinese nationals at the border. China poses the greatest espionage, counter-intelligence, and trade secret theft threats of any country. And immigration is its biggest weapon. The director of national intelligence warned in the latest Worldwide Threat Assessment, “China’s intelligence services will exploit the openness of American society, especially academia and the scientific community, using a variety of means,” Yet we bring in more immigrants (roughly 80,000) and long-term foreign students (roughly 370,000) from China than from any other country.

4) The 800-pound gorilla in the room, based on Trump’s campaign promises, is left off the list. Those are the countries from which there is the strongest element of jihadism and a sharia supremacist mindset among the population. Does anyone really believe we can vet the hearts and minds of those from Iraq and Afghanistan? Just over the weekend, an Iraqi immigrant was arrested in Arizona because of an outstanding warrant in Iraq, where he is accused of murdering policemen on behalf of al Qaeda. Yet our government is putting our “diplomatic relations” there ahead of homeland security concerns.

More fundamentally, as I noted regarding our government’s response to the Pensacola shooting and Saudi military trainees, what ever happened to Trump’s promise of ideological vetting? Sure, we have great relations with countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, but what about the people living there? They might not have a criminal record, but many of them could harbor jihadist sympathies, as we saw with the Pensacola shooter, Mohammed Alshamrani.

This paragraph from the proclamation should disturb Trump supporters:

In his report, the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security recognized a close cooperative relationship between the United States and the democratically elected government of Iraq, the strong United States diplomatic presence in Iraq, the significant presence of United States forces in Iraq, and Iraq’s commitment to combating the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The Acting Secretary of Homeland Security considered another similarly situated country and determined that, for reasons similar to those present in Iraq, entry restrictions and limitations would not be appropriate.

Really? This is a pro-Iran government. This is the most vivid illustration of the backward priorities of our national security leaders – send our military to referee Islamic civil wars and then use that as a pretense for bringing in more immigrants to our homeland.

It’s clear the administration is trying to sidestep the issue of ideological vetting, as well as avoid the suspension from countries where the number of immigrants has been significant. In 2018, we only had 838 from Kyrgyzstan and 2,428 from Eritrea. We bring in more from Tanzania (3,186) and Sudan (3,658), but only diversity visas were suspended from those countries. The only countries on the list with significant numbers are Burma (8,182) and Nigeria (13,952). Most of the Burmese are refugees. We’ve admitted a huge number of Burmese refugees in recent years, roughly 170,000 since 2007.

However, if you look at some of the countries with the most jihadists, we continue to bring in tremendous numbers: Iraq (14,351), Afghanistan (12,935), Bangladesh (15,717), Pakistan (15,426), and Egypt (9,668) to name just a few countries. And while we get very few immigrants from Saudi Arabia, we continue to bring in roughly 40,000 foreign students from there, and now will evidently continue the military training program as well.

Very tellingly, when explaining the rationale for the suspension from Kyrgyzstan, the White House notes the presence of “an elevated risk, relative to other countries in the world, of terrorist travel to the United States.” But doesn’t that apply to several dozen other countries not mentioned? Why pick the one with less than 1,000 annual immigrants?

Clearly, the lawyers and bureaucrats in the administration wanted to avoid making this about vetting out jihadist sympathies and more about technocratic criteria of information-sharing. They also wanted to keep the numbers of those affected to a minimum. However, it doesn’t really speak to the prevalent threats that mass migration from many other countries poses. Given the sweeping victory in the Supreme Court on the president’s power to exclude, the administration could have been more aggressive in its approach.

If this is just the first step, then it’s a good one. But if this will set a precedent of foreclosing any ideological vetting, it won’t effectively keep out most terrorists, spies, or security threats. Embarrassing: Bloomberg Ad Uses Obama-Era Footage of Caged Migrants to Criticize Trump (VIDEO)

Mike Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City and contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, released an anti-Trump campaign advertisement that included footage of caged migrants in 2014 — during the Obama era.

The Bloomberg campaign released an ad that was meant to highlight unflattering events that have occurred during the Trump administration, such as the white nationalist march in Charlottesville, Virginia, the aftermath of a Florida school shooting, the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, and immigration enforcement at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“America demanded change and change is what we got,” a narrator said in the ad, which then led to a montage of footage, supposedly all taken during the Trump presidency.

The campaign took direct aim at the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement measures, clipping images of Border Patrol agents doing their job and featuring footage of detained migrants. However, a review by the Daily Caller News Foundation found that one still image used in the ad was taken in 2014 — during the Obama administration. Google Employees Used Company Resources to Organize Anti-Trump Resistance Events

Google employees interpreted Trump’s election as a terrible outcome that they should have done more to prevent the American people from choosing and something they would work hard to make sure didn’t happen again. Indeed, I obtained documents and communications showing Google employees organizing anti-Trump protests using internal company channels, company time, and company office space.

“If your stomach turns when you consider a Trump presidency, I urge you not to let this moment pass quietly,” one Google employee wrote in an email to coworkers, urging them to attend an anti-Trump protest in San Francisco ten days after Trump’s election.

Another Google employee in March 2017 hosted an anti-Trump resistance event at Google to flood the White House mail room with anti-Trump postcards. “Hi all,” the email began, “I’m participating in #TheIdesofTrump, a national movement to send POTUS a postcard on March 15 expressing opposition to him.” The message stated that employees had reserved a room at Google’s San Francisco headquarters for Google employees to gather and write the anti-Trump postcards.
