Pastor: Black People Who Vote for Trump Are Mentally Ill

The pastor of a Birmingham, Alabama, church posted a sign out front saying black people who vote for President Donald Trump are mentally ill, and white people who vote for him are racist, according to WVTM-TV.

Pastor Michael Jordan of New Era Baptist Church defended the sign, which read, “A black vote for Trump is mental illness” on one side and “A white vote for Trump is pure racism” on the other.

“God motivates me to take a stand for what’s right,” Jordan told WVTM. “Read the Bible. And look in the White House. If they’re calling me a racist, look in the White House. When you vote for Donald Trump, you are supporting institutionalized racism.”

Jordan already has a reputation as a racially divisive minister. In 2018, Jordan posted a sign that read, “Black folks need to stay out of white churches” on one side and “White folks refused to be our neighbors” on the other. The signs were a response to a megachurch opening a satellite campus in Birmingham to help reduce crime. . .

Jordan’s latest signs could put his church’s tax-exempt status in jeopardy. Churches with tax-exempt status are not to “participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.”

President Trump: Stronger Background Checks Would Not Stop Attacks

While speaking to reporters Sunday morning President Trump said stronger background checks would not have stopped the mass public attacks our nation has witnessed over the past six or seven years.

Trump said, “I will say that for the most part, sadly if you look at the last four or five going back even five or six or seven years, for the most part, as strong as you make your background checks, they would not have stopped any of it.” . . .

On August 20, Breitbart News reported Trump saying, “We have very, very strong background checks right now. But we have, sort of, missing areas and areas that don’t complete the whole circle. And we’re looking at different things.”

On August 19, Politico quoted Trump saying, “Congress is going to be reporting back to me with ideas. And they’ll come in from Democrats and Republicans. And I’ll look at it very strongly. But just remember, we already have a lot of background checks.”

NBC reports Trump saying the shooting incidents in the Midland-Odessa area do not change discussions about guns. Trump said, “We are in the process of dealing with Democrats and Republicans, and there’s a big package of things that’s going to be put before them by a lot of different people I’ve been speaking to a lot of senators, a lot of house members, Republicans, Democrats — this really hasn’t changed anything, we’re doing a package and we’ll see how it comes about.” (Read more from “President Trump: Stronger Background Checks Would Not Stop Attacks” HERE)

Top Trump Aide Says THIS Candidate Poses Biggest 2020 Threat; Women Voters Spell Trouble for Trump in 2020

By Fox News. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., was the scariest would-be opponent for President Trump’s reelection bid, one of the president’s top campaign officials has reportedly said.

“The one who scares me the most in the general is Kamala Harris,” the official said. Described by The Washington Times as a “key player” in Trump’s campaign, the official said Harris was the “least flawed” Democratic hopeful in the crowded field of presidential aspirants,

“The top candidates are all flawed candidates, but the least flawed is Kamala Harris,” the official reportedly said. . .

August polling has shown Harris trailing at least a few other candidates, including Biden, but she has consistently ranked among the top contenders and was floated as a potential choice for vice president.

She’s also shown that she’s willing to call the former vice president out in her race to the top. The former prosecutor saw a bump in the polls after she made Biden’s controversial comments about race personal at the first Democratic primary debate. Women Voters Spell Trouble for Trump in 2020

By The Hill. Polls show President Trump losing women voters by huge margins, presenting his reelection campaign with a massive hurdle to overcome as he seeks a second term in office.

Perhaps most alarmingly for Trump, the president is losing support from the white women who were pivotal to his electoral success in 2016.

Exit polls and post-election studies found Trump outperforming Democrat Hillary Clinton among white women in 2016, a statistic that the president cites on the campaign trail to combat the notion that he’s struggling with a widening gender gap in support.

But recent polling indicates that the same white female voters who propelled Trump to victory in 2016 might send him to defeat in 2020 if current trends hold.

A Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday found Trump trailing the top five Democratic contenders by between 9 points and 16 points overall, with each leading the president by 23 points or more among all women. (Read more from “Women Voters Spell Trouble for Trump in 2020” HERE)

‘She Was a Spy from Day One’: Trump Assistant out After Discussing President’s Family with Press

Madeleine Westerhout, President Donald Trump’s personal assistant, who has been described as a gatekeeper to the president, resigned on Thursday after leaking to the press earlier this month. Several White House officials had long suspected her of disloyalty to the president. A former staffer for the Republican National Committee and Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign, she had reportedly cried when it became clear Trump had won in 2016.

“She was a spy from day one who sought to use her proximity to the president to curry favor with his detractors,” a former White House official told CBS News.

Westerhout’s resignation came after Trump learned on Thursday that she had “indiscreetly shared details about his family and the Oval Office operations she was part of during a recent off-the-record dinner with reporters staying at hotels near Bedminster, N.J., during the president’s working vacation,” The New York Times reported. . .

According to CBS News, the New Jersey dinner was not the first time Trump’s personal assistant had gossiped with reporters present. At a farewell event for former press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, she bragged about her gatekeeper status.

In September 2018, veteran journalist Bob Woodward complained in an interview with Trump that his request to speak with the president had not been passed on by more prominent aides like Kellyanne Conway. Trump said he should have contacted Westerhout. “Madeleine is the key. She’s the secret,” the president said. He has also reportedly referred to her as “my beauty.” (Read more from “‘She Was a Spy from Day One’: Trump Assistant out After Discussing President’s Family with Press” HERE)

Mike Pence Responds to Reports of Eyebrow-Raising Trump Comments to Aides

Vice President Mike Pence responded to recent reports of President Trump’s comments to aides, explaining the White House’s interest in Greenland and dismissing the notion that Trump asked about using nuclear weapons to stop hurricanes as “fake news” in an interview with BlazeTV host Eric Bolling to air Tuesday.

Bolling asked Pence about the Trump administration’s interest in the region after reports surfaced that President Trump had inquired with his aides about the possibility of buying Greenland from the Danish government. Pence explained that the autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark holds several strategic interests for U.S. national security.

“The strategic importance of the Arctic virtually grows by the day, and we continue to see Russia and China seek to extend their influence into the Arctic region. And I think the president was interested in engaging in a discussion with Denmark,” Pence said.

Although some pundits mocked the president for his “wacky” idea and the government of Greenland rebuffed the purchase offer, some, like Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., support the idea, arguing the region holds strategic importance to confront China.

Pence noted that Greenland’s strategic importance is one reason the U.S. maintains a military base there.

“Greenland is a part of North America first and foremost. And so from a security standpoint, it makes more sense. We have a military base there now. It makes more sense for the United States to have a dominant role in Greenland, just in the interest of our own national security and our sphere of influence in this hemisphere,” Pence said.

“But beyond that, I think it’s just an opportunity that I think the president was interested in discussing with the leadership in Denmark, and who knows if someday, down the road, it might be a topic that they’re willing to broach,” he added.

Bolling also asked the vice president about a report from Axios’ Jonathan Swan that the president suggested to aides that nuclear weapons might be used against hurricanes to stop them from reaching the United States.

“I got it. I got it. Why don’t we nuke them?” the president reportedly said during a meeting with national security officials. “They start forming off the coast of Africa, as they’re moving across the Atlantic, we drop a bomb inside the eye of the hurricane and it disrupts it. Why can’t we do that?”

President Trump dismissed the report as “ridiculous” and denied ever saying such a thing.

Pence echoed the president’s dismissal.

“The president’s made it very clear that he’s never made a suggestion like that, and I’ve never heard him make a suggestion like that. We’ve got a term for that sort of thing at the White House; it’s called fake news,” he told Bolling.

“It just seems like not a day goes by that somebody in the media doesn’t find something to print or publish or put on the internet,” he added. “But it’s one of the things I most admire about this president is no matter what the media is out there talking about on any given day, no matter what the critics or the naysayers are talking about, this is a president who literally gets up every day and fights to keep the promises that he made to the American people.”

Eric Bolling’s full interview with Vice President Pence will air exclusively on “America with Eric Bolling” at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday, only available on BlazeTV.

Donald Trump Cancels Trip to Poland in Response to Hurricane Dorian; Florida Hurricane Now a Category 2 Storm and Is Expected to Strengthen

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he would cancel his trip to Poland, as Hurricane Dorian approaches Florida.

“It looks like it could be a very very big one indeed,” Trump said.

The president was scheduled to attend ceremonies in Poland Sunday marking the 80th Anniversary of the start of World War II. Trump announced the cancelation of his plans ahead of a speech in the Rose Garden hailing the return of Space Command.

He said he would remain in the United States to ensure that the country was prepared for the arriving storm.

“Our highest priority is the safety and security of the people in the path of the hurricane,” he said. (Read more from “Donald Trump Cancels Trip to Poland in Response to Hurricane Dorian” HERE)

Dorian Now a Category 2 Storm and Is Expected to Strengthen

By CBS News. Hurricane Dorian strengthened to a Category 2 storm on Thursday night as officials said it is expected to hit Florida even harder than previously thought, prompting a widened state of emergency. The storm is on track to make landfall early Monday as a powerful Category 4 hurricane — it could be the strongest direct hit to Florida’s east coast since Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

Florida residents rushed to supermarkets across the states collecting food and supplies.

The National Weather Service said Dorian could bring a “triple-threat of dangers” to Florida — including “life-threatening storm surge, devastating hurricane-force winds and heavy rains.” They urged Floridians to “prepare NOW.”

WATCH: President Trump Establishes the Space Command

By The Blaze. President Donald Trump announced the establishment of the U.S. Space Command from the Rose Garden of the White House Thursday.

The president congratulated General Jay Raymond as the first commander of the US Space Command. Raymond had been in command of the Air Force Space Command since October 2016.

The Space Command is not the much promised “Space Force,” which the president said would follow soon.

“SpaceCom will soon be followed, very importantly, by the establishment of the United States Space Force as the sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces, and that’s really something when you think about it,” he said. . .

“SpaceCom will ensure that America’s dominance in space is never questioned, and never threatened,” Trump added, “because we know the best way to prevent conflict is to prepare for victory.” (Read more from “President Trump Establishes the Space Command” HERE)

Trump Declares New Space Command Key to American Defense

By WBNS. . .Space Force, which has become a reliable applause line for Trump at his campaign rallies, has yet to win final approval by Congress.

The renewed focus on space as a military domain reflects concern about the vulnerability of U.S. satellites, both military and commercial, that are critical to U.S. interests and are potentially susceptible to disruption by Chinese and Russian anti-satellite weapons.

The role of the new Space Command is to conduct operations such as enabling satellite-based navigation and communications for troops and commanders in the field and providing warning of missile launches abroad. That is different from a Space Force, which would be a distinct military service like the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Biased Media Upset That Trump Allies Are Pushing Back Against the Lies

In case you missed it, CNN’s media roundtable show “Reliable Sources” pulled off something previously thought impossible: it found yet another media bias shark to jump. This time, it was through the bias of omission:

While the horrible liberal bias of the mainstream media has long been known to conservative political and social media junkies, it hasn’t been clear if it is becoming known to more casual observers. It appears as if it is:

Sunday’s New York Times has an article about Trump supporters who are archiving examples of the bias and — SURPRISE! — they’re not at all happy about it:

A loose network of conservative operatives allied with the White House is pursuing what they say will be an aggressive operation to discredit news organizations deemed hostile to President Trump by publicizing damaging information about journalists.

It is the latest step in a long-running effort by Mr. Trump and his allies to undercut the influence of legitimate news reporting. Four people familiar with the operation described how it works, asserting that it has compiled dossiers of potentially embarrassing social media posts and other public statements by hundreds of people who work at some of the country’s most prominent news organizations.

Sad Hillary Attempts to Mock Trump Over ‘Fake News’

Hillary Clinton took to Twitter Monday to react to reports President Trump suggested nuking hurricanes in order to drive them away from the U.S. coast – a report the president has called “ridiculous” and “FAKE NEWS.” . . .

Axios claimed in a piece published Sunday that Trump floated nuking hurricanes to Homeland Security and national security officials as a potential solution to drive hurricanes away from the U.S. coast[:]

During one hurricane briefing at the White House, Trump said, “I got it. I got it. Why don’t we nuke them?” according to one source who was there. “They start forming off the coast of Africa, as they’re moving across the Atlantic, we drop a bomb inside the eye of the hurricane and it disrupts it. Why can’t we do that?” the source added, paraphrasing the president’s remarks.

. . .

However, Trump forcefully pushed back against the Axios report in a tweet Monday, calling it, “ridiculous” and “FAKE NEWS”:

President Trump Hints at ‘Major Middle Income Tax Cut’ With One Condition

President Donald Trump hinted Saturday that additional tax cuts are in the future for tens of millions of Americans.

However, the president said the “major middle income tax cut” would only become reality if Republicans retain control of the Senate and retake control of the House in 2020.

“If Republicans take back the House, and keep the Senate and Presidency, one of our first acts will be to approve a major middle income Tax Cut!” Trump said. “Democrats only want to raise your taxes!”

. . .

Larry Kudlow, the top White House economic adviser, said this week that Trump could propose new tax cuts before the 2020 presidential election that would additional economic relief for individuals and small businesses.

“The personal tax rates could easily be lowered, and probably the brackets could be shrunk. That’s a thought,” Kudlow said. “We might even kind of work through a way to help our friends in some of the states who are concerned about the shrinkage of the tax deductions there … the SALT taxes.” (Read more from “President Trump Hints at ‘Major Middle Income Tax Cut’ With One Condition” HERE)
