Watch: People Hate What Obama and Hillary Did on Russia — Here’s The Catch

By The Daily Caller. TheDC’s Amber Athey and Justin Caruso regularly take to the streets of Washington, D.C. to ask the most important questions in America.

This week, we asked people how they felt about President Trump’s plan to “reset” with Russia and how he promised the Russian president more “flexibility” after the next election, except Trump did none of that–Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton did.

There Was Nothing Remotely Treasonous in Trump’s Performance With Putin

By The Hill. The over-the-top rhetoric about Monday’s Trump-Putin meeting in Helsinki quickly reached the point of complete absurdity — from former CIA director John Brennan (who once voted for the Communist Party’s presidential candidate) decrying Trump’s actions as treasonous and worthy of impeachment, to people equating it with Pearl Harbor or Kristallnacht.

To all such people, spare me the pious hyperbolic sanctimony.

Monday’s press conference with Presidents Trump and Putin was not Trump’s best moment, and there were missed opportunities — but nothing even remotely treasonous or worthy of impeachment. . .

On Tuesday, Trump amended his position in a statement to the press that has him affirming his confidence in his intelligence agencies and agreeing with them that the Russians meddled in our elections. We’ll see if that puts the issue to rest.

While we cannot trust Russia, shouldn’t trust Russia, people should step back, take a deep breath and get some perspective. (Read more from “There Was Nothing Remotely Treasonous in Trump’s Performance With Putin” HERE)

These Gruesome Anti-Trump T-Shirts Are Circulating Across Facebook

T-shirts that depict the president hanging by a noose made from his signature red tie are being advertised via Facebook and the social-media company’s subsidiary Instagram. . .

An explanation on an Instagram page states: “Political Statement + Satire = Protected by Free Speech. We Donate For Every Shirt to support our women, children and elderly.”

The Instagram page is still active, but the Facebook page has been removed since the Gateway Pundit’s report was published.

A post on Facebook says a portion of each sale goes to charities such as Planned Parenthood and the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. . .

At a hearing Tuesday on Capitol Hill, Republican House members quizzed representatives of Facebook, YouTube and Twitter about their handling of controversial content, presenting evidence of censorship of conservative voices and asking how they should be held accountable for the content on their sites. Shouting Protesters Throw Feces at Coffee Shop, Here’s the Ridiculous Reason Why

By The Blaze. Residents in a Los Angeles neighborhood attempted to shut down a new coffee shop because the owner supports President Donald Trump’s stance on immigration, KCAL-TV reported. . .

About 30 protesters on held signs, screamed at patrons, and threw feces last Thursday in front of Asher Caffe & Lounge in Boyle Heights, a longstanding Jewish neighborhood that has become mostly Latino, the report states.

“So what’s the connection?” Israeli-born businessman Asher Shalom, who owns the establishment, told KCAL. “This is what I don’t understand. I’m confused — the connection between Donald Trump and good coffee.” . . .

“It was very scary,” said Shalom’s daughter, Yael. “There was a lot of people protesting outside wearing masks…and they threw a significant amount of feces at our windows.” . . .

Defend Boyle Heights also allegedly became aggressive with another coffee shop in town during a 2017 anti-gentrification protest. The group also was accused of protesting an art gallery that led to its closure, KCAL states. (Read more from “Shouting Protesters Throw Feces at Coffee Shop, Here’s the Ridiculous Reason Why” HERE)

‘I Love Peace,’ Says Boyle Heights Cafe Owner of Protest Over Support of Trump Immigration Policies

By CBS Local. Residents of a rapidly gentrifying enclave of Los Angeles tried to shut down the grand opening of a new coffee shop, saying the owner’s support of President Donald Trump’s stance on immigrants is reason alone to want him out of the neighborhood. . .

The kosher cafe was set to have a grand opening on July 12, the day anti-gentrification activists were met by Los Angeles Police officers blocking the entrance.

According to Eater LA, about 30 protesters associated with the group Defend Boyle Heights (DBH) showed up to speak up against Shalom, who they called “an anti-immigrant trump loving gentryfier” in a Facebook post. . .

DBH showed a screenshot of a retweet of one of Trump’s messages about his proposed Muslim ban by Asher Fabrics Concept, one of Shalom’s other companies.

Shalom told CBS2 he came to the United States 30 years ago and is now a U.S. citizen. Shalom showed CBS2 two proclamations honoring him from L.A. City Councilman Jose Huizar and County Supervisor Hilda Solis, both who represent Boyle Heights. GOP Lawmaker: Impeach Trump

It’s not a top Republican. It’s not even a national one, but it offers insight into the weak sauce arguments for impeachment against Donald Trump; a nice window into this left wing pipedream to boot the president because…a lot of people didn’t like the results of the 2016 election. No, seriously—it’s getting ridiculous, folks. In Texas, State Rep. Jason Villalba outlined his reasons for why we need to impeach President Trump. Villalba is an outgoing lawmaker in the state legislature, as he was defeated in a primary held in March (via The Hill):

“Since Donald J. Trump has been president, he alone has increased the national debt by over $1 trillion. Yes. One trillion dollars. The fastest any president in U.S. history has accrued that level of debt,” Jason Villalba wrote in an editorial published by The Texas Tribune’s “TribTalk” on Wednesday.

“Our president has mocked and belittled our immigration laws, our intelligence agencies, our foreign policy strategy and even the American people. We have been called ‘stupid,’ ‘weak,’ ‘a joke’ and ‘pathetic,’ all by our own president,” Villalba continued, adding that he was one of the “only Republican elected officials in the country to plead with the American voters to abandon this charlatan prior to his election.”

. . .

Yeah, this sounds like a swan song from the loser brigade, along with a nice pitch to get on national television. The liberal media has frothing at the mouth over Trump’s win since November of 2016. You don’t think they’ll give this guy a phone call? This whole screed reads from something conjured up by Democrats and the Democratic National Committee. While the anti-Trump wing of America whines, they miss the pitch. We’re about to hit four percent economic growth for the second quarter, three million jobs created since Trump was elected, more jobs than job seekers, 18-year low in unemployment, historic lows in black unemployment, strong jobs reports, small business confidence being at its highest in years, consumer confidence being at its highest in years. Despite worries of trade wars, the Dow Jones regained its lost ground, breaking 25,000 last Friday. In 2017, the Dow had a 5,000-point surge, the largest annual gain ever. Regulations have been cut. And tax reform has ushered in a new era of jobs and economic growth. Over three million workers have received bonuses averaging $1,000 or more, Over 250 companies have benefitted from the tax cuts. How is this bad news? How is this not what has been a linchpin in the GOP platform? Everyone is seeing good news. The ones who are down on America over an election result need to have their lips sewn shut with steel wire, finished off and held together with a healthy coat of liquid cement.

In Midst of Political Storm, Comey Urges Americans to Vote Democrat

Three years ago, he was looked upon as the impartial leader of America’s most respected law enforcement agency. Now, James Comey has taken his feud with President Donald Trump to a new level by urging Americans to vote for Democrats.

Comey, who as chief of the FBI was entrusted to render an impartial verdict in the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, sent out his partisan message Tuesday via Twitter.

“This Republican Congress has proven incapable of fulfilling the Founders’ design that ‘Ambition must … counteract ambition.’ All who believe in this country’s values must vote for Democrats this fall. Policy differences don’t matter right now. History has its eyes on us,” Comey tweeted.

Comey, who attacked Trump repeatedly after Trump fired him and during his tour to market a new book, had stepped up his rhetoric after a Monday news conference in which Trump said he would accept Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s word that Russia did not interfere in the 2016 election.

Trump’s comments launched a domestic political furor because they contradicted the findings of the American intelligence community.

“This was the day an American president stood on foreign soil next to a murderous lying thug and refused to back his own country. Patriots need to stand up and reject the behavior of this president,” Comey tweeted Monday.

Trump later said he misspoke and aligned his views with that of United States intelligence agencies, according to Fox News.

“I came back and said ‘What is going on, what’s the big deal?’” Trump said, saying he saw the need for “some clarification.”

He said he meant to say that he didn’t see why Russia “wouldn’t” be responsible for interference.

“I said the word ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t’ … sort of a double negative,” Trump said. “I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place.”

Comey’s criticism of Republicans in general has been a thread in his public comments in recent months.

“The Republican Party has left me and many others. I need no better evidence than their new website — which I think is ‘Lyin Comey’ maybe? — attacking me. I just think they’ve lost their way, and I can’t be associated with it,” he said in April, according to CNN.

“I see the Republican Party, as near as I can tell, reflects now entirely Donald Trump’s values,” the former FBI director added. “It doesn’t reflect values at all. It’s transactional, it’s ego-driven, it’s in service to his ego.”

Republicans have been quick to fire back at the former FBI director.

“Comey is a liar and a leaker and his misconduct led both Republicans and Democrats to call for his firing,” Republican chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in an April statement. “If Comey wants the spotlight back on him, we’ll make sure the American people understand why he has no one but himself to blame for his complete lack of credibility.”

Trump, as noted by The Washington Post, has called Comey an “untruthful slimeball.” (For more from the author of “In Midst of Political Storm, Comey Urges Americans to Vote Democrat” please click HERE)

Sarah Sanders: President Trump Has Made It Clear to Putin He Should Stay out of Our Elections

Speaking during the White House press briefing Wednesday, the first held in two weeks, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said President Trump told Russian President Vladimir Putin to stay out of U.S. elections during their two hour private meeting in Helsinki Monday. . .

“We certainly believe that we are taking steps to make sure they can’t do it again,” Sanders said. “We believe that the threat still exists which is why we are taking steps to prevent it.”

“The President and his administration are working very hard to make sure that Russia is unable to meddle in our elections as they have done in the past and as we have stated,” she continued. . .

“Russia’s already yesterday named several Americans who they want to question who they claim were involved in, quote, unquote, crimes, in their terms, including a former ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul. Does President Trump support that idea? Is he open to having US officials questioned by Russia?” asked the New York Times White House reporter Maggie Haberman asked.

“There was some conversation about it, but there wasn’t a commitment made on behalf of the United States. The president will work with his team and we’ll let you know if there is an announcement on that front,” Sanders said. President Trump Says He Misspoke With Putin: I Have Full Faith in America’s Intelligence Agencies

Speaking at the White House Tuesday afternoon, President Trump clarified remarks he made during a joint press briefing with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki Monday.

The president said he accepts U.S. intelligence analysis that Russia did in fact interfere in the 2016 presidential election through propaganda, while stating there was no collusion between the Kremlin and his campaign. He said his administration is doing everything possible to prevent Russian meddling in future elections.

“I have full faith in our intelligence agencies,” Trump said. “I accept our intelligence community conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place.”

After clarifying his remarks, Trump reiterated the progress he believes was made with Putin during a two hour long private meeting between the two leaders.

Poll Shows How Americans Reacted to Trump’s Summit With Putin

By The Blaze. While many in the media were excoriating President Donald Trump for his bizarre comments during the press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a new poll shows how Americans saw the episode. . .

According to a new Reuters poll, Americans’ approval of the president did not change substantively from the daily average in the same poll after the highly criticized meeting in Helsinki. . .

However, the average approval rating for Trump’s treatment remained low, at 42 percent of registered voters. The daily average for the month of July for the rating fell between 40 and 44.

When questioned about Russia specifically, a majority of registered voters (55 percent) said they disapproved of Trump’s handling of Russian relations, while only 37 percent approved of the same.

‘Better Than Super’: Russia Reacts to Trump-Putin Summit in Helsinki

By NPR. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, a master of diplomatic verbosity and sardonic barbs, summed up the results of the Helsinki summit in just three exuberant words: “better than super.”

After four years of getting short shrift by his American counterparts, Russian President Vladimir Putin was standing side by side with President Trump, who lavished him with the words of praise, respect and awe normally only heard on Russian state television.

When Putin militarily intervened in Ukraine in 2014, President Barack Obama called Russia a “regional power” that threatened its neighbors out of weakness, not strength. Russia’s annexation of Crimea set off a precipitous decline in relations with the United States. When he took office, Trump could not reverse the trend because of accusations that Moscow interfered in the 2016 election. . .

There is relief in the Kremlin that Trump didn’t do anything unpredictable, make any demands on which further cooperation would depend or just appear ambivalent, according to Stanovaya. But despite the friendly atmosphere, she said, the Kremlin is aware Trump could still end up taking them by surprise.

Alexander Gabuev, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Moscow Center, says that in the short term, the Kremlin can be happy about Putin’s burnished image as a statesman who holds his own with the U.S. president. According to Dem, THIS Is Enough to Impeach Trump

President Donald Trump’s performance during a joint press conference with Russian leader Vladimir Putin is enough for a potential impeachment to go forward, according to the Democratic representative challenging Sen. Ted Cruz in Texas, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) told The Dallas Morning News that he would vote to impeach the president if he was asked to.

“Standing on stage in another country with the leader of another country who wants to and has sought to undermine this country, and to side with him over the United States — if I were asked to vote on this, I would vote to impeach the president,” O’Rourke said. . .

New calls for impeachment of Trump and even some mentions of the word “treason” followed a joint press conference during which Trump said he believed Putin that Russia did not interfere in the 2016 elections, despite U.S. intelligence agencies having said otherwise. . .

“In order to prosecute a case for impeachment, you have to have the underlying facts,” Sanchez told Politico. “We don’t know all the facts yet. And until the time that we do, we can’t make a decision on whether or not impeachment is warranted.” (Read more from “According to Dem, This Is Enough to Impeach Trump” HERE)

Lesson From Putin Summit: Democrats and GOP Equally Hate President Trump

By CNN. After President Donald Trump’s stunning news conference Monday next to Russian President Vladimir Putin, members of Congress — including some powerful Republicans — were quick to rebuke Trump’s performance on the world stage and Trump’s refusal to call Putin out for interfering in the US election.

House Speaker Paul Ryan contradicted several comments Trump made during his Helsinki news conference, most notably backing the US intelligence community assessment that Russia meddled with the US 2016 presidential election. . .

Sen. John McCain, an Arizona Republican who has consistently criticized the President, said Trump’s comments were “one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory.”

Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker said the President “made us look like a pushover” and that Putin was probably eating caviar on the plane home. (Read more from “Lesson From Putin Summit: Democrats and GOP Equally Hate President Trump” HERE)

Trump-Putin Summit: U.S. Leader Hails ‘Good Start’ in Helsinki

By BBC. US President Donald Trump says his face-to-face meeting in Helsinki with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin was “a good start”.

After two hours of closed-door talks the two leaders went into a working lunch with their senior advisers.

Speaking earlier, Mr Putin said it was time to discuss “difficult multi-national issues”.

Relations between Russia and the West were severely strained by Moscow’s annexation of Crimea in 2014.

Russia is also accused of meddling in the 2016 US election, a claim it strongly denies. (Read more from “Trump-Putin Summit: U.S. Leader Hails ‘Good Start’ in Helsinki” HERE)
