GOP Reeling After Another Establishment Candidate Beaten by Pro-Trump Candidate

A well-known career GOP politician has just received shattering news: Even though he’s the incumbent, a surprising challenger defeated him in the primary on Tuesday, sending a signal that establishment politicians are not safe.

Congressman and former Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina was beaten by State Rep. Katie Arrington in a close race.

“The Associated Press called the race just after midnight, with Arrington leading Sanford by 51-47 percent margin and 99 percent of precincts reporting. Sanford becomes the second incumbent to lose a reelection primary bid this cycle,” reported The Hill.

“Sanford had never lost an election until Tuesday, even after he was caught having an affair in 2009 while governor. But his willingness to question Trump, who is lionized by the GOP primary electorate, proved politically fatal,” that outlet continued.

That point is especially important. The one key difference between Sanford and Arrington is that he was an anti-Trump establishment player, while she sided with the president and was seen as closer to the people, having worked her way up from a restaurant job to national politics. Andy McCabe: Trump Caused Me to Lie Under Oath

Disgraced former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is suing the Department of Justice over his firing.

McCabe was fired after a DOJ internal probe found that the former FBI deputy director lied under oath three separate times, in addition to misleading FBI officials in interviews. McCabe also sent unauthorized leaks to the press and falsely pinned blame on his colleagues in Washington and New York.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe based on the recommendations provided by the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility.

According to NPR’s report of McCabe’s lawsuit:

“McCabe has denied any intentional wrongdoing. Instead, he said, any lapses in his memory or mistakes in his interviews with the IG and others were mistakes derived from the chaos inside the FBI under siege from Trump and his allies.”

Translation: Andy McCabe lied under oath and attempted to destroy the careers of his colleagues, and now he’s blaming Trump.

McCabe’s suit against the Department of Justice comes just one day before the expected release of the inspector general’s 500-page report on the Obama FBI and Justice Department’s handling of the Clinton email investigation. Doc Says He Was Fired for Attacking Trump, Hospital Replies: No You Just Suck

There are some individuals who are so consumed by an all-encompassing hatred for President Donald Trump that they allow their “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to have a negative impact on other aspects of their lives. . .

Case in point would be a doctor in Tennessee who was recently let go from Vanderbilt University Medical Center about halfway through his residency, a development he seems to blame on Trump, or rather his outspoken opposition to the president. . .

Gu had become somewhat internet-famous for his sharp criticism of Trump on social media, and he proudly listed himself as one of the Twitter trolls blocked by Trump who sued and won the legal challenge that asserted that being blocked by the president on Twitter constituted a violation of the First Amendment right to free speech. . .

But Vanderbilt University had quite a different story to tell when asked why Gu would not be completing his residency with them, and it had nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with his attitude and performance.

“Dr. Gu’s repeated assertions that he was disciplined, or that his residency program contract was not renewed, because of his political or social views are simply untrue,” VUMC spokesman John Howser explained in a statement emailed to The Hill. Hilarious: Watch as Trump Makes Fat Joke at Summit, Kim Is Not Amused

By Conservative Tribune. . .Whatever comes from President Donald Trump’s summit in Singapore this week with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, history is likely to remember it standing out for one reason at least:

A fat joke told by the president of the United States, and the expressionless reception it got from his rotund negotiating partner.

The joke came up as Trump and Kim were about to be seated for lunch on Tuesday, according to USA Today.

Trump watched as the assembled media angled for the best view to record the historic occasion, then he dropped a signature Trump line.

Fat Joke? Make Us Look ‘Nice and Thin,’ Trump Tells Photographers as Kim Looks on

By USA Today. . .Our interpretation of Kim’s facial expression and body language? Let’s say he wasn’t bursting with pleasure.

The video went viral with Twitter commentators comparing the episode to an awkward scene from “The Office.”

“Kim’s reaction to Donald Trump’s joke is the best thing you will see all day today,” quipped another.

Mayor Who Criticized Trump Now Being Investigated for Corruption

By Townhall. San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz infamously picked a fight with President Trump in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria last year, the storm that devastated Puerto Rico. The official death toll was 64, but Gov. Ricardo Rossello suggested the actual number is higher. President Trump signed a $36.5 billion aid package for the nation. Some of the aid took awhile to get to its destination. Cruz took aim at the White House in those months, accusing the U.S. government of turning its back on them.

Some of her messages were indirect. She wore a “Nasty Woman” shirt on CNN, in reference to Trump’s insult for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign. Others were not blatant, like when she said Trump “speaks out of both sides of his mouth.” . . .

Cruz may be the hypocritical one here. New reports suggest that corruption in San Juan prevented critical supplies from reaching Hurricane Maria victims. The FBI is investigating suppliers and Cruz’s administration. . .

Until she and her staff are cleared of wrongdoing, perhaps she should withhold judgment of Trump’s leadership style. (Read more from “Mayor Who Criticized Trump Now Being Investigated for Corruption” HERE)

Puerto Rico Officials Investigated for Corruption During Hurricane Relief

By The Epoch Times. Corruption in Puerto Rico may have been the cause of U.S. relief supplies not reaching those in need following Hurricane Maria in September 2017.

The administration of San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz (D), who made headlines for her criticisms of President Donald Trump’s handling of the relief efforts, is now being investigated for alleged corruption.

According to a local news report from El Vocero de Puerto Rico, the FBI is investigating several suppliers for alleged corruption in San Juan.

It says the investigation was launched after former procurement director Yadira Molina filed a lawsuit claiming she faced punishment for reporting illegal activities to the local comptroller. The investigation has since grown to include several contractors.

“On February 21, Molina sued the city council after reporting alleged acts of corruption in the shopping division in the town hall under the administration of Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz Soto,” the report says. Here’s the Bombshell Video Trump Was Sure to Play for Kim During Their Meeting

By Townhall. As part of his effort to get dictator Kim Jong Un to agree to denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, President Trump showed him a video that presented all the possibilities for North Korea’s future if sanctions come off.

In addition to the benefits economic development and innovative technologies would bring to the Hermit Kingdom, Trump also emphasized what developing the country’s beaches could do for the nation.

“They have great beaches! You see that whenever they’re exploding the cannons into the ocean, right?” Trump said after playing the four-minute video for the press.

“So I said, ‘Boy, look at that beach. Wouldn’t that make a great condo behind’ – and I explained it,” the real estate mogul said.

“I said, ‘Instead of doing that you could have the best hotels in the world right there.’ Think of it from a real estate perspective.”

Trump in Surprise Summit Move Says He Will Halt Korea War Games

By Reuters. U.S. President Donald Trump made a stunning concession to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Tuesday about halting military exercises, pulling a surprise at a summit that baffled allies, military officials and lawmakers from his own Republican Party.

At a news conference after the historic meeting with Kim in Singapore, Trump announced he would halt what he called “very provocative” and expensive regular military exercises that the United States stages with South Korea.

That was sure to rattle close allies South Korea and Japan.

North Korea has long sought an end to the war games.

Trump and Kim promised in a joint statement to work toward the “denuclearization” of the Korean Peninsula, and the United States promised its Cold War foe security guarantees. But they offered few specifics. (Read more from “Trump in Surprise Summit Move Says He Will Halt Korea War Games” HERE)

‘Punch-Drunk’: Trump Hits Back at De Niro. Hard.

The King of the Counter Punch hit back against actor Robert De Niro on Tuesday after being provoked by the star’s expletive-laced rant aimed at the president during Sunday night’s Tony Awards.

President Trump, hilariously finding time during an unprecedented and high-stakes peace summit with North Korea, took to his favorite social media site, Twitter, to go after the famed actor, calling him “Low IQ” and “punch-drunk.”

“Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be ‘punch-drunk,'” smacked Trump, adding that De Niro fails to “realize the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country.”

Robert De Niro Just Handed Trump’s 2020 Campaign a Blank Check

Sunday night was the 72nd Tony Awards, the annual ceremony that’s supposed to celebrate the best of Broadway. But what’s being talked about more than any of the winners or nominees, co-hosts Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles, or even a moving performance from the Parkland students was the unhinged anti-Trump tirade made by Robert De Niro.

De Niro stepped on the stage to give a simple introduction to Bruce Springsteen’s Tony-nominated show, and immediately went off the rails. . .

De Niro arrived at the Tony Awards thinking he was doing a public service with his profanity-laced stunt and has some sort of moral high ground. He runs with a group of countless A-listers who knew the truth about Harvey Weinstein for decades and didn’t do anything about it. He worked with Weinstein on several films over the years. So spare us the sanctimonious lectures.

Outspoken liberals in Hollywood aren’t the only people who have failed to recognize their own errors in 2016. Democrats continue to push identity politics instead of advocating an agenda that unites all Americans. And the mainstream media allows their disdain for the president to taint its reporting on a constant basis.

What none of them took away from Trump’s shocking victory was how out-of-touch they all were with average Americans. Sure, De Niro screaming like a cranky old man may have played well in viewing parties in LA and New York, but folks in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania probably felt differently. The #Resistance’s nonstop preaching about how bad Trump was in 2016 had an opposite effect on his supporters. In fact, they inadvertently motivated his base, turning their vote into a giant middle finger to the establishment and the elites. Trump Praises Relationship With Kim Jong Un, Makes History

By ABC News. President Donald Trump lavished praise on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after their historic four and a half hour face-to-face meeting in Singapore Tuesday, where the two signed an unspecified agreement that the president described as “pretty comprehensive.”

“A very worthy, smart negotiator, absolutely,” Trump told reporters while standing alongside Kim. “We learned a lot about each other and our countries.” . . .

“Today we had a historic meeting and decided to leave the past behind and we are about to sign a historic document,” Kim said. “The world will see a major change. I would like to express my gratitude to President Trump to make this meeting happen.”

“I feel really great,” Trump said. “We’re going to have a great discussion, I think, a tremendous success, this will be tremendously successful. It’s my honor and we will have a terrific relationship I have no doubt.” . . .

“It was not an easy path here,” Kim said. “There’s a history of holding onto our ankles, and it appeared there were times that there were unfortunate practices where they were trying to block our eyes and our ears, but we’ve overcome everything and come to this place.”

U.S. Demands Japan Reduce Its Plutonium Stockpiles

By Nikkei Asian Review. The U.S. has called on Japan to reduce its high levels of stockpiled plutonium, a move that comes as the Trump administration seeks to convince North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons, Nikkei has learned.

The request was made by the U.S. Department of State and National Security Council ahead of next month’s extension of a bilateral nuclear cooperation agreement, according to people familiar with the matter.

Japan has about 47 tons of the radioactive element — enough to produce around 6,000 nuclear warheads. Foreign and domestic critics have pointed to these reserves as a ready source of bomb-making material should Japan choose to become a nuclear weapons state.

Plutonium production is banned in principle, but energy-poor Japan has been allowed to extract the material from spent nuclear fuel rods under the bilateral pact.

Japan insists that it does not maintain plutonium reserves “without specified purposes.” Critics in Japan and elsewhere, including China and some in the U.S. Congress, have expressed concern about the size of these stockpiles. Establishment Media Silent: Trump Gets Unexpected Surprise Courtesy of Singapore Citizens

Since President Donald Trump’s first day in office, the liberally biased mainstream media has perpetuated the narrative that Trump is largely despised both at home and abroad, and that in other nations he is almost universally viewed as an embarrassment to the American people.

Thus, it came as no surprise whatsoever when the U.S. media essentially ignored the reception Trump received from cheering supporters upon his arrival Sunday in Singapore ahead of a high-stakes summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. . .

According to a series of photos published by The Daily Caller, the president received a boisterous welcome from not just U.S. citizens who live in Singapore, but also from Singaporean citizens as well.

A couple photos show a pair of young American women wearing red MAGA hats and waving American flags, with one of the girls even wearing a pair of patriotic socks emblazoned with Trump’s name.

Fans of the president had gathered at the airport to greet his arrival, andlined the streets of the route used to transport him via presidential motorcade to the Shangri-La Hotel, as well as the Singaporean prime minister’s residence, the Istana Palace.
