Recent speculation suggests Donald Trump may withdraw from NATO, while few have explored the reasons he might pursue that path.
Yes, abandoning America’s longtime security framework in Europe aligns with promises to cut spending and avoid foreign entanglements — but the motivations run deeper than that.
It’s about restructuring the global order.
The U.S. is pivoting toward a more transparently transactional alliance system, one centered on regional powers that can do the heavy lifting while Washington plays arbiter.
The new security and economic bloc forming before our eyes looks like it will involve Russia, Turkey, and Israel. (Read more from “The Strategy Behind Trump’s Looming NATO Withdrawal? A New Global Order” HERE)

Yet another federal judge has blocked a portion of one of President Donald Trump’s executive orders, arguing that his directive to terminate government contracts with all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs is a “coercive threat.”
Judge Matthew F. Kennelly of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois signed a memorandum opinion and order on Thursday in favor of a Chicago-based nonprofit that promotes “diversity, equity, and inclusion within the skilled trades industry.”
The organization, Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT), receives roughly 40 percent of its annual budget from the federal government, according to the document.
In a 46-page civil lawsuit filed in February, a month after Trump signed EO 1415, “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing,” and EO 14173, “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity.”
As a result of Trump’s orders, CWIT received notices from the Department of Labor (DOL) Women’s Bureau and the Illinois DOL about grants they were funding, stating that all recipients of federal financial assistance are directed to cease all activities related to DEI “effective immediately,” and that the department was “reviewing all active federal awards and will take appropriate action, including terminating the awards, consistent with the Executive Orders.” (Read more from “Judge Blocks Part of Trump’s DEI Executive Order, Calls It a ‘Coercive Threat’” HERE)

President Trump’s popularity is at a record high as the largest share of Americans in decades believe the country is on the right track, according to new polling data.
While the president’s current net-favorable rating is in the negatives — at -4 percentage — he is making steady progress in the right direction. It’s far better than the -10 point rating he had in March 2017 and the -7 point rating Americans gave him after the November election, according to aggregate polling compiled by CNN analyst Harry Enten.
Enten gave the network’s lefty viewers a “reality check” this week with the new poll numbers, showing Trump has a higher favorability rating now than at any point in his first term.
“All we talk about is how unpopular Donald Trump is,” Enten began. “But in reality, he’s basically more popular than he was at any point in term number one and more popular than he was when he won the election back in November of 2024.”
“So when you compare Trump against himself, he’s actually closer to the apex than he is to the bottom of the trough,” the CNN analyst explained. “And of course, that’s so important because Donald Trump, historically speaking, has had his numbers underestimated.” (Read more from “Trump More Popular Than Ever – Percentage of Americans Who Think Country Is on the Right Track ‘Through the Roof,’ Says CNN Analyst” HERE)

On Thursday, President Donald Trump announced that he withdrew the nomination of Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) to become U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Stefanik appeared for a confirmation back in January, when she called out the “anti-Semitic rot” within the United Nations, and advanced out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. However, she never got a vote on the Senate floor.
“As we advance our America First Agenda, it is essential that we maintain EVERY Republican Seat in Congress. We must be unified to accomplish our Mission, and Elise Stefanik has been a vital part of our efforts from the very beginning,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “I have asked Elise, as one of my biggest Allies, to remain in Congress to help me deliver Historic Tax Cuts, GREAT Jobs, Record Economic Growth, a Secure Border, Energy Dominance, Peace Through Strength, and much more, so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
Trump added: “With a very tight Majority, I don’t want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise’s seat. The people love Elise and, with her, we have nothing to worry about come Election Day. There are others that can do a good job at the United Nations. Therefore, Elise will stay in Congress, rejoin the House Leadership Team, and continue to fight for our amazing American People. Speaker Johnson is thrilled! I look forward to the day when Elise is able to join my Administration in the future. She is absolutely FANTASTIC. Thank you Elise!” (Read more from “Trump Pulls Stefanik Nomination To Become United Nations Ambassador” HERE)

A trio of federal judges in California declared on Tuesday that President Donald Trump must welcome roughly 40,000 refugees approved by President Joe Biden’s deputies.
“We welcome this continued relief for tens of thousands of refugees who will now have the opportunity to restart their lives in the United States,” said Melissa Keaney, the progressive lawyer for the elite-funded, anti-borders International Refugee Assistance Project.
In a second courtroom in Seattle, another federal judge ordered the Trump administration to keep paying the quasi-government agencies that settle the refugees in Americans’ crowded housing, schools, and workplaces, such as in Springfield, Ohio.
The judges’ policy preferences are likely to be appealed by Trump’s deputies. The decisions contradict his legal claim that presidents have full authority over who gets to cross the U.S. borders. The judges’ views also contradict Trump’s election mandate to reduce the civic burden of migration.
But the progressives’ lawsuits are good news for their allies among the nation’s meatpacking companies. Many of the companies rely on the progressives to supply them with cheap, subsidized, and healthy workers to replace prior refugees worn by tough working conditions in the plants, where chains on the disassemply lines often deliver 300 carcasses per hour. The Atlantic published the “war plans” it originally withheld in its Monday article revealing that its editor-in-chief had been accidentally added to a Signal group chat with a coalition of cabinet leaders having sensitive foreign policy discussions.
Editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg published a piece on Monday explaining that he had been accidentally added to a group chat on Signal, a secure messaging platform used by many politicians and journalists, by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz. The group chat, named “Houthi PC small group,” included a number of high-ranking cabinet officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance.
The cabinet members discussed the military’s plans to bomb the Houthi rebels and had debates over whether the American people would understand why the US was getting involved. Goldberg noted that he was excluding a message from Hegseth in his report because it contained what Goldberg described as “war plans” — he wrote that the message “contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing.”
After administration officials denied that “war plans” were discussed and that no classified information was shared, The Atlantic published the texts Hegseth sent detailing when the U.S. would depart for the attack, the weapons packages used and the order of operations. By New York Post. President Donald Trump abruptly shut down CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during a press briefing on Tuesday when she tried to raise questions about the controversial “Signal” messaging incident involving top administration officials.
During a meeting with ambassadors at the White House, the frequent Trump nemesis attempted to pepper the president with a question.
“Mr. President, you said that your national security learned a lesson after a reporter …,” Collins began.
Before she could complete her sentence, Trump interrupted, saying sharply: “Excuse me, I didn’t pick you.”
He then pointed to another reporter in the gallery and said, “Go ahead.”
The Signal controversy emerged after The Atlantic revealed that Jeffrey Goldberg, its editor-in-chief, was mistakenly added to a secret group chat where high-ranking Trump administration members discussed an upcoming military strike against Yemen’s Houthi rebels. National security adviser takes ‘full responsibility’ for ‘embarrassing’ Signal leak — but still rips ‘vile’ Atlantic editor
By New York Post. National security adviser Mike Waltz accepted “full responsibility” Tuesday for accidentally including Atlantic magazine’s editor-in-chief in a Signal chat group where discussions about military strikes against the Houthis in Yemen took place.
“Well, look, a staffer wasn’t responsible,” Waltz told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham in his first media interview since the Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg revealed that he was privy to the Trump administration’s internal deliberations and planning of March 15 airstrikes after being added to text chain on the encrypted Signal app by the national security adviser.
“Look, I take full responsibility,” Waltz added. “I built the group. My job is to make sure everything’s coordinated.”
When pressed by “The Ingraham Angle” host on why Goldberg’s number was on his phone to begin with, the White House official claimed he didn’t know. (Read more from “National security adviser takes ‘full responsibility’ for ‘embarrassing’ Signal leak — but still rips ‘vile’ Atlantic editor” HERE)

President Donald Trump pardoned Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer on Tuesday.
Trump signed the pardon on Tuesday, saying that Archer was a victim of a “crime” and treated “very unfairly.” Archer had been facing a year and a day in prison for his role in defrauding a Native American tribe and other clients by fraudulently issuing and selling over $60 million worth of bonds.
“Devon Archer was a former business partner of the Biden family. He was prosecuted relating to a fraud investigation, but notably, the tone and tenor of that prosecution changed dramatically after he began to cooperate with congressional investigators and serve as a witness against Hunter Biden and the Biden family. We believe that was an injustice, and therefore we’re asking you to pardon him,” White House Staff Secretary Will Scharf told the president, showing him the executive order.

“And many people have asked me to do this. I think he was treated very unfairly. And I looked at the records, studied the records, and he was a victim of a crime, as far as I’m concerned. So we’re going to undo that,” Trump said. (Read more from “Trump Pardons Ex-Hunter Biden Business Partner” HERE)
President Donald Trump revealed Tuesday that a National Security Council staffer and aide to National Security Adviser Mike Waltz added the Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat on military strikes against the Houthis.
Trump told NBC News during a phone interview, “It was one of Michael’s people on the phone. A staffer had his number on there.”
The president did not reveal the name of the staffer.
He also defended Waltz for using Signal to coordinate on the strikes, saying, “Michael Waltz has learned a lesson, and he’s a good man.”
He also said Goldberg’s presence in the chat had “no impact at all” on the strikes, and expressed confidence in his national security team — most of whom were in the group chat. (Read more from “Trump Reveals NSC Staffer Added the Atlantic Editor to Group Chat on Houthi Strikes” HERE)

Former Target Corporation executive and Toys ‘R’ Us CEO Gerald Storch said Tuesday on Fox Business Network’s “Varney and Company” that concerns over President Donald Trump’s tariffs have been “grossly exaggerated.”
Host Stuart Varney said, “You ran one of the biggest toy stores in the world. How would you have handled the present situation if you could expect China made toys to go up 10 to 15% in price? How would you handle it?”
Storch said, “Well, first of all, they’re not going to go up 10 to 15 or 20% in price, but no, I think this whole thing with the tariffs is grossly exaggerated by a factor of at least two.” (Read more from “Former Target Exec Storch: Trump Tariff Concerns ‘Grossly Exaggerated’” HERE)
