One of the Largest Solar Flares Ever Recorded Knocks Out Radio, Could Be Headed for Earth

Scientists have warned that the largest solar flare in six years could be headed for Earth in a matter of days. This comes after the flare blanked radio frequencies, including a major radio blackout in South America.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recently reported that the solar flare “is likely one of the largest solar radio events ever recorded.” The flare is caused by explosions on the surface of the sun, which then expand outward and spew bursts of electromagnetic radiation.

The New York Post reported that the solar flare occurred on Thursday after a sunspot known as AR 3514 erupted with a class X.28 solar flare — the largest variety of flare that our sun is capable of producing. The report went on to say that the flare was the largest the star has generated since 2017.

The flare had far-reaching consequences, including a massive radio blackout in South America. There was also a total loss of radio signals for several hours, but they were eventually recovered. Robotic Telescope Finds Closest Known Asteroid to Fly by Earth

On August 16, the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF), a robotic survey camera located at Palomar Observatory near San Diego, spotted an asteroid that had, just hours earlier, traveled only 1,830 miles (2,950 kilometers) above Earth’s surface. Designated 2020 QG, it is the closest known asteroid to fly by Earth without impacting the planet. The previous known record-holder is asteroid 2011 CQ1, discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey in 2011, which passed above Earth about 1,550 miles (2,500 kilometers) higher than 2020 QG.

Asteroid 2020 QG is about 10 to 20 feet (3 to 6 meters) across, or roughly the size of an SUV, so it was not big enough to do any damage even if it had been pointed at Earth; instead, it would have burned up in our planet’s atmosphere.

“The asteroid flew close enough to Earth that Earth’s gravity significantly changed its orbit,” says ZTF co-investigator Tom Prince, the Ira S. Bowen Professor of Physics at Caltech and a senior research scientist at JPL, which Caltech manages for NASA. Asteroids of this size that fly roughly as close to Earth as 2020 QG do occur about once a year or less, but many of them are never detected. More Evidence of Creation: Scientists Say Earth Formed in Fraction of the Time of the Evolutionary Model

New research suggests Earth was created in a fraction of the time scientists previously thought it formed, suggesting that rapidly forming planets could exist elsewhere.

Conventional thinking suggested the early Earth was formed through the random collision of large planetary bodies through time. As these planetary bodies slammed into one another, they combined to eventually form Earth over a time period of tens of millions of years.

New research, published in Science Advances, suggests the formation of Earth was through a different and faster mechanism. Researchers estimate this took place over approximately 5 million years, extremely fast in astronomical timescales. . .

The match between the extremely precise measurement of the iron composition in Earth’s interior to CI chondrites implies a “single source” of material when Earth initially formed. Otherwise, the iron composition would mimic multiple different types of meteorites. . .

The results of this study indicate water was accreted onto Earth from water adsorbed to dust as it rained down onto early Earth. This early accretion of water onto Earth is supported by water found in Earth’s deep mantle. Thus, the key ingredients to life is likely a by-product of the formation of a planet similar to Earth. This suggests the presence of water is likely to be found in many other planets across the universe. Scientists Capture Mysterious Hum From Deep Inside the Earth – but No One Knows What It Is

Scientists have captured a mysterious hum coming from deep inside the Earth, but they are still no closer to working out what it is.

It has long been known that the Earth constantly generates a low-frequency vibrational signal.

The first attempt to detect this hum was made in 1959, but it wasn’t until 1998 that scientists finally proved its existence.

Since then, there have been hundreds of attempts to record the Earth’s hum, but they have all been made using seismometers on land.

Now researchers have captured the hum for the first time using seismic instruments at the bottom of the sea. (Read more from “Scientists Capture Mysterious Hum From Deep Inside the Earth – but No One Knows What It Is” HERE)

‘Ecosexual’ Professor Wants You to Have Sex With Earth

. . .You can sensually roll in the mud, make passionate love to a hulking tree or even pursue a long-term romantic relationship with the ocean.

It’s all part of an eco-sex trend exploding on Google searches in the last year, thanks in part to art professor Elizabeth Stephens, who teaches at the University of California at Santa Cruz. The movement involves a combination of art, sex and environmentalism.

Stephens, who is also chairwoman of the art department at the California state-funded university, has been filmed in documentaries, or eco-sex flicks, doing “the nasty” with nature.

And, somehow, doing the deed with Earth is supposed to save the environment from human destruction.

This “tree-hugging” professor isn’t merely hugging trees. In the 2013 film “Goodbye Gauley Mountain: An Ecosexual Love Story,” she and her female partner massage river rocks, lick trees, frolic naked in a stream and slather mud on one another. Stephens is now working on “Water Makes Us Wet: An Ecosexual Adventure.” According to The College Fix, “Water Makes Us Wet” is set to debut in Germany this week. Is Something Strange Happening Inside the Earth?

Why are “giant fountains of lava” suddenly pouring out of some of the most dangerous volcanoes on the entire planet, and why are so many long dormant volcanoes suddenly roaring back to life? The spectacular eruption of Mt. Etna in Italy is making headlines all over the world, but it is far from alone. According to Volcano Discovery, 35 major volcanoes either are erupting right now or have just recently erupted, and dozens of others are stirring. So what is causing this upsurge in volcanic activity? Is something strange happening inside the Earth?

According to the USGS, magma is “molten rock underground”, and lava is molten rock “that breaks through the Earth’s surface”. Right now, something is pushing magma up through the crust of the Earth at a number of key spots around the planet. On the island of Sicily, the “giant fountains of lava” that are coming out of Mt. Etna can be seen 30 kilometers away…

Giant fountains of lava could be seen sprouting from the volcano, located on the isle of Sicily, as far away as Catania, around 30 kilometres away, and the resort town of Taormina.

The Meteorological Observatory in Nunziata said: “You can clearly see the lava fountains, although currently modest, as it escapes from the crater in the southeast.”

An orange air alert has been issued, meaning that airspace will remain open but authorities will continue to monitor the situation.

On the other side of the world, a constant stream of molten rock has been springing out of Guatemala’s “Volcano of Fire” since February 25th…

Guatemala’s Volcano of Fire erupted Saturday (Feb 25), spewing lava and sending up plumes of ash that rained down on nearby communities and could eventually reach the capital, civil protection authorities said.

The Volcan de Fuego, one of the country’s three active volcanoes, is located about 45km southwest of the capital Guatemala City. It was the volcano’s second eruption this year.

And in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a “firehose of lava” has been pouring out of the Kilauea Volcano since December 31st.

Meanwhile, a number of large volcanoes that have been dormant for a very long time all over the world have started springing back to life.

For instance, the only active volcano in India has suddenly started “spewing lava and ash” after being silent for 150 years…

Barren Islands volcano, India’s only active volcano, is reportedly spewing lava and ash after a gap of 150 years. It erupted for about four hours in January, scientists from the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) claimed.

The volcano is situated in Barren Islands in the Andaman & Nicobar archipelago. Some unsubstantiated reports even claim that it is South Asia’s only active volcano.

Its first recorded eruption dates back to 1787. Since then, the volcano has erupted more than ten times, including the one this year.

At one time scientists would speak of “dead volcanoes”, but now we learning that it really isn’t safe to speak of any volcano as being completely “dead”. So many of these long dormant volcanoes are roaring back to life, and why this is suddenly happening now is puzzling many of the experts.

And as you have seen, this isn’t isolated to just one or two geographic regions. It literally is happening all over the globe.

Last month, Indonesia’s Mount Sinabung in the southern hemisphere erupted seven times in the space of a single day, and meanwhile authorities in the northern hemisphere were warning us that four of Iceland’s biggest volcanoes are preparing to erupt.

Indonesia and Iceland are about as far apart as you can get, and yet they are both being affected by this worldwide phenomenon.

Without a doubt, something definitely appears to be causing a significant increase in worldwide seismic activity.

Let’s talk about earthquakes for a moment. A website known as the Big Wobble recently published an article that included two extraordinary maps. The first map showed the number of major earthquakes from January 1900 to January 1917, and the second map showed the number of major earthquakes from January 2000 to January 2017. The difference between the two maps was startling to say the least.

It is becoming extremely difficult to deny that something is happening to the crust of our planet, and many are becoming concerned about what we could soon experience if the level of seismic activity continues to rise.

We already talked about Mt. Etna, but a much greater threat in Italy appears to be awakening under the city of Naples. A massive supervolcano known as “Campi Flegrei” is close to a “critical state”, and if it erupts the consequences will be beyond catastrophic. The following comes from National Geographic…

A long-quiet yet huge supervolcano that lies under 500,000 people in Italy may be waking up and approaching a “critical state,” scientists report this week in the journal Nature Communications.

Based on physical measurements and computer modeling, “we propose that magma could be approaching the CDP [critical degassing pressure] at Campi Flegrei, a volcano in the metropolitan area of Naples, one of the most densely inhabited areas in the world, and where accelerating deformation and heating are currently being observed,” wrote the scientists—who are led by Giovanni Chiodini of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics in Rome.

If that supervolcano were to fully erupt, millions could die, the skies in the northern hemisphere would be darkened for months and the resulting “volcanic winter” would cause famines all around the globe.

And the same things could be said about the supervolcano that is awakening in North Korea too.

In the United States, we should be watching the volcanoes on the west coast for signs of trouble, and my regular readers know that I am particularly concerned about Mt. Rainier. There is an eruption of Mt. Rainier in “The Beginning Of The End“, and it is in there for a reason.

Someday Mt. Rainier will erupt, and the horror that this will mean for the Northwest is beyond anything that I could put into words for you right now.

We live at a time when our planet is becoming increasingly unstable, and a major natural disaster could change all of our lives in a single moment.

Just because our lives have been somewhat “normal” for an extended period of time does not mean that they will always be this way, and those that are ignoring the rumblings of our planet do so at their own peril. Massive ‘Crack in the Earth’ Opens up Suddenly in Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains

A dramatic crack has suddenly formed in the foothills of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains that measures an impressive 750 yards long and 50 yards wide. It was discovered recently by surprised backcountry hunters who travel frequently to the area in search of game.

First reported by SNS Outfitter & Guides, a hunting company, on their Facebook page, the mammoth chasm appeared over the course of just a couple of weeks. It’s an impressive example of just how quickly very large geological events can occur under the right conditions.

“Everyone here is calling it ‘the gash.’ It’s a really incredible sight,” wrote SNS on the group’s Facebook page.

“An awesome example of how our earth is not as stable as you might think. Awesome forces at work here to move this much dirt!!” added Randy Becker, one of the hunters to stumble upon “the gash.” Becker shared a number of stunning photographs of the crack to his own Facebook page . . .

Contrary to some sensational claims swirling about on social media, the crack is not an opening to the underworld or a sign that Yellowstone is about to erupt. The processes that created the crack are not even all that mysterious. (Read more from “Massive ‘Crack in the Earth’ Opens up Suddenly in Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains” HERE)

Mystery of Earth’s ‘Hum’ Heard by Millions SOLVED by Researchers

Earth-571110It is the unexplained buzzing noise that has fed suspicions of an alien invasion or UFO activity in the skies.

But the mystery of a bizarre drone that has plagued millions of people around the world could finally be solved, scientists believe.

‘The Hum’ – as it is known – can be heard by some more than others and has been blamed for pushing people to the brink of madness with sleepless nights and a constant ringing in the ears.

Some thought it was the fault of gas pipes or power lines, but experts now believe the elusive buzzing is down to “ocean waves”.

Researchers say currents in the sea cause the Earth to vibrate subtly as they shift across its surface, creating “microseismic” activity that elicits a “ring”. (Read more from “Mystery of Earth’s ‘Hum’ Heard by Millions SOLVED by Researchers” HERE)

Where’s The “Science Story of the Century?”

Is it the “Science Story of the Century” or the best kept American media secret of the year? Just-announced heavyweight new studies from the U.S. National Solar Observatory tell us to expect a long quiet period for the sun—and decades of cooler global temperatures.

The Register in London headlined, “Earth may be headed into a mini Ice Age within a decade . . . which could mean that the Earth—far from facing a global warming problem—is actually headed into a mini Ice Age.”

Solar scientists are saying that as the sun goes quiet, the earth gets colder. Bloggers note that the Sporer (1460–1550), and the Maunder (1645–1715) sunspot minimums coincided with the two coldest spasms of the Little Ice Age. The Dalton Minimum (1790-1830) also produced colder temperatures.

The American media, however, would rather not encourage the public to expect cooling that would contradict the man-made warming scenario. After all, the 2012 election is coming soon, and President Obama is publicly committed to making energy prices “skyrocket” to “save the planet.” A long cooling trend now would tell us that all the billions spent subsidizing wind turbines, solar cells, and rare-earth lithium batteries represent a colossal waste—as the CO2 levels continue to rise with Asia’s economic growth.

Science correspondent Richard Kerr was very calm:  “Things may be about to get very dull on the sun. Three different measurements of solar activity, reported by scientists at a press conference today, suggest that the next 11-year solar cycle well be far quieter than the current one. . . . If the reported trends continue—a big if, other researchers note—a hibernating sun would have only a slight cooling effect on the climate.” Translation: “Move on, folks, no story here.”
