Police Arrest Congressman’s Son for Allegedly Slapping City Official at Steakhouse

The son of Republican Florida Rep. Carlos Gimenez was arrested Wednesday after allegedly assaulting Miami city commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla at a popular steakhouse in Coral Gables.

It is unclear why Carlos J. Gimenez, a lawyer and lobbyist, allegedly slapped the unsuspecting Portilla at Morton’s Steakhouse on Wednesday afternoon. The Gimenez and Portilla families have a long history in Miami politics, according to the Miami Herald, which described the two as “members of powerful political families with ties going back more than a decade.”

Portilla called the act “cowardly” and admitted he wasn’t aware the smack was coming, according to the Miami Herald.

Woman Sick After Coming in Contact With Escaped Lab Monkeys

Questions are swirling after a woman became sick after coming in contact with an overturned truck of macaque monkeys on their way to a Florida lab.

Pennsylvania resident Michelle Fallon was driving directly behind a truck carrying 100 cynomolgus macaque monkeys last week when the vehicle was hit by a dump truck, throwing the pricey primate crates all over the highway, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Three macaques escaped, but all have since been captured and euthanized. The 97 remaining monkeys, which arrived in the United States from Mauritius, have been accounted for and transported to their destination.

Fallon said she got out of her car and helped the driver put the animals in their cages. She initially thought the animals were cats but quickly realized her mistake when she put her hand on the cage and a monkey hissed at her.

Fallon posted on Facebook that after coming in contact with one of the macaques, she got sick with a nasty cough and pink eye so severe she had to go to the emergency room at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Infectious disease doctors gave her the first of four rabies shots and antiviral drugs. Fallon posted she was monitoring for symptoms of rabies and monkey herpesvirus B but said her “symptoms are covid symptoms. Like seriously. Parents Sue School District Over Daughter’s Secret Gender Transition

The parents of a Florida elementary school student are suing their daughter’s school district after their child attempted to commit suicide following the school’s efforts to orchestrate her secret transition to a male gender identity.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and claims that the daughter of Wendell and Maria Perez, a sixth grade student at Paterson Elementary School in Fleming Island, Florida, had adopted a male transgender identity at school with the support of administrators, who hid the girl’s gender dysphoria from her parents.

It was not until the Perezes’ daughter, identified as A.P. in court filings, attempted to commit suicide on school grounds for the second time in as many days that the Perezes were notified about their daughter’s male gender identity, the lawsuit says.

“Prior to the [suicide attempt], A.P. had not exhibited any signs of gender confusion or questioning of her biological sex,” the lawsuit says. “In fact, just before the incident she had told her mother that she believed that people who say they are transgender have a problem with their minds because ‘if you’re a boy, you’re a boy, if you’re a girl, you’re a girl.’”

The court filing says that A.P. and the school had sought to keep her parents in the dark regarding her transgender identity due to their Catholic faith, which teaches that sex and gender are immutable. (Read more from “Parents Sue School District Over Daughter’s Secret Gender Transition” HERE)

FDA Closes Successful Monoclonal Antibody Clinics in Florida, Governor Seeks Reversal

Monoclonal antibody sites throughout Florida will be closed after the Food and Drug Administration adjusted its authorization for the COVID-19 treatment.

The new FDA policy only allows those “likely to have been infected with or exposed to a variant that is susceptible to these treatments” to receive the new medication, despite Florida’s leadership advocating for its use among the populace.

“This indefensible edict takes treatment out of the hands of medical professionals and will cost some Americans their lives,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a Monday statement. “There are real-world implications to Biden’s medical authoritarianism — Americans’ access to treatments is now subject to the whims of a failing president.”

Wrong Arm of the Law: Disturbing Video Shows Cop Grabbing Female Officer by the Throat During Arrest

A veteran Florida police officer is under investigation after he was caught on video grabbing a female cop by the throat when she tried to pull him away from a handcuffed suspect.

Sunrise police Sgt. Christopher Pullease, 46, is accused of attacking the 28-year-old female officer, who hasn’t been named, outside a Shop & Save convenience store on Nov. 19, WSVN reported.

The ordeal unfolded when Pullease and several other cops were arresting a man for aggravated battery after he had hit people outside the store. . .

The female cop suddenly ran over and tugged on Pullease’s belt in a bid to get him away from the suspect, the bodycam video showed.

Pullease whipped around, grabbed hold of the officer’s neck and shoved her against another patrol car, according to the footage.

Florida Resident Tells ‘Woke’ New Yorkers to Head Back North in Scathing Letter (VIDEO)

An angry Floridian has a message for their snowbird neighbors: If you’re woke, go back to New York.

A number of cars with New York license plates parked on Palm Beach streets received notices on their windows over the weekend urging them to leave if they lean left politically, police said.

“If you are one of those ‘woke’ people — leave Florida. You will be happier elsewhere, as will we,” reads the missive, typed in all capital letters.

The threatening letters were found on cars parked along Sunrise Avenue, Bradley Place and Seaview Avenue in the ritzy seaside enclave about an hour north of Fort Lauderdale that’s long been a beloved locale for New Yorkers who head south for the winter.

Concerned citizens reported the letters to the Palm Beach Police Department on Sunday but after a brief investigation, cops determined a crime hadn’t been committed.

Pelosi, Trump Reveal Plans for Competing Jan. 6 Observances

As members of Congress engage in a prayer vigil to mark the one-year anniversary of the riot on Capitol Hill, former President Donald Trump will mark the occasion at his Mar-a-Largo resort in Florida — battling the press.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, announced on Thursday a schedule of events for Jan. 6. Trump similarly announced the specifics for a press conference set for the same day.

“These events are intended as an observance of reflection, remembrance, and recommitment, in a spirit of unity, patriotism, and prayerfulness,” Pelosi said. “The patriotism and courage of our members as we prepare for this difficult day is an inspiration for which I sincerely thank you.”

In a letter to Democratic colleagues, which was shared with the media Thursday, Pelosi outlined the schedule, which includes four events. Congress will not be back in session until Jan. 10, but Pelosi invited her Democrat colleagues to the events. She said Congress will also live-stream its commemorations.

The first thing on her list is a pro forma session in the House at noon with a moment of silence on the House floor. At 1 p.m., Carla Hayden, the librarian of Congress, will host a conversation between historians Jon Meacham and Doris Kearns Goodwin about the events of Jan. 6. New Bill Would Allow Criminals to Choose Military Service Over Prison Time

Florida legislators may soon make it possible for individuals convicted of certain criminal offenses to choose military service instead of serving time in prison.

Florida Senate Bill 1356 was filed on Dec. 21 by Democratic Sen. Darryl Rouson. The bill would enable eligible individuals to join the military instead of going to jail. To be eligible, a convicted criminal would have to be 25 years old or younger and have a sentence that does not exceed four years for all total charges. Also, the offender cannot and must not be charged with multiple felonies or be a violent career criminal.

The proposed bill would require that the convicted person satisfy any financial obligations that have been imposed as a result of his sentence and achieve a satisfactory score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test. If the convicted individual fails to satisfy their imposed obligations, he must appear in court for resentencing, according to the bill. Governor Throws Biden’s ‘Flying Migrants to Florida’ Ploy Back in Joe’s Face

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday floated sending migrants to President Biden’s home state of Delaware, in response to the dozens of migrant flights DeSantis says have landed in Florida at the behest of the Biden administration.

“If they’re going to come here, we’ll provide buses,” DeSantis said of the migrants on the flights. “I will send them to Delaware and do that.”

“If he’s not going to support the border being secure, then he should be able to have everyone there,” he said.

The Republican governor has been ramping up his battle with the administration over migrant flights into Jacksonville. His office told The Washington Examiner that there have been more than 70 flights of migrants into the Sunshine State since the summer.

The Examiner reported that officials said the Biden administration has refused to tell the governor’s office about who is facilitating the flights and other information. DeSantis told Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that the flights operate in the late hours of the night at “one or two or three in the morning.” He added that the flights were “unannounced” and he was given “no notice” and thus no ability to veto the flights. Second Grader Suspended for Over a Month After Violating Mask Rule (VIDEO)

A Florida second-grader was reportedly suspended a total of 36 days and disciplined in school for violating the school district’s mask mandate.

Fiona, a student in Palm Beach County, was served her first punishment Aug. 31, according to The Free Press. Since then, she has faced other in-school and out-of-school disciplinary actions.

“Fiona has changed her priorities a bit and is on a mission to take back not only her rights but every American child’s constitutional rights from the tyrant school board being operated by a financial expert who has no knowledge of how to safely and effectively run the 10th largest school district in America,” Fiona’s mother, Bailey Lashells, said, reported The Free Press.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced an executive order in July banning mask mandates in schools. The order protected parents’ rights to choose whether or not to mask their children while in school. A Florida judge ultimately shot down the order.
